  1. Bo Horvat, Zack Kassian, Shawn Matthias, Jacob Markstrom, Raphael Diaz, Alexander Sultzer for Roberto Luongo, Cory Schneider, Cody Hodgson and Dale Weise. thats how i see these trades went for the canucks.. Gillis also signed Sundin for half a season at what 10 million? He's signed Garrison for 5 mil a season, gave Luongo that awful contract, re signed the sedins for what 7 mill? why does he still have a job. Im at a loss for words that Luongo is gone. I cant believe how bad the fans and management treated him. Canucks fans will never understand how goos we had it with Luongo, before we got him our tandem was Dan Cloutier and Alex Auld. I mean really?
  2. Bo Horvat, Jakob Markstrom, Shawn Mattias for Cory Schnieder and Roberto Luongo... im about to cry..
  3. Canucks are such jokes.. I cant believe this. First of all if youre going to trade Schneider, atleast keep Luongo. now they trade Luongo.. I just cant comprehend.. I love Luongo...
  4. Stephane Robidas to Anaheim for a 4th. Teams like them 4th rounders edit, Also, To Ottawa D Patrick Mullen To Vancouver Jeff Costello
  5. I was the 2nd pick ever for Quebec. Thank you, good luck in school, good luck to frank as well
  6. i honestly think they should trade Burrows in all honesty. but so, no team can pony up to pay for kesler and have the cap room?
  7. Kesler, where would he have the best chance of going in all honesty?
  8. which is what i did, but for people to know, like where they stood against CPU players and how much they affected the first few seasons. People also like a visual i suppose and see how they stack up in like a standing sort of way.
  9. this was from my Media spot, shit, first 8 games, if that dont count for words, ill add 150, i guess

People like to take into perspective on how players have done in the pre season and how it might supposedly carry over into the regular season. Some stats change from a game to game basis, I for one like to see how it happens, like the +/- changes from day to day. Shots as well, some player might get like 5 shots in one game and then none in the next. It is pretty interesting to see how we've gone from players like Blair Betts for example, to 'unknown players'. The saves and save percantage also change from a game to game basis and thats fun to keep track of. Thats all for now as I've only down the first 8 games, after my next media spot I will post updated stats and I will show you a look in the risers and fallers. For example it Matthew Pogge raises his save percantage the next game etc etc

  13. Day 4, Game 7: Vasteras IK vs. Seattle Everblades Vasteras made the trek to Seattle after Seattle paid Vasteras a visit in Sweden. This was pretty killer on the IK as they went from Vasteras, Sweden to Stockholm, Sweden to Seattle, Washington, USA all in a matter of 3 days. From Stockholm to Seattle alone that is 4,714 miles. Vasteras did not come prepared for this game and it painfully showed. Thor Ljunggren took holding minor 0:15 into the game. It was all downhill from there. Vasteras may have killed off the penalty but it was all for not as Vladimir Malakhov took a hooking minor after the first penalty was killed. Seattle gained a lot of momentum right away and ran away with the game. They may not have scored but they didn't need to as they came to play while Vasteras did not. At 18:20 Todd Fedoruk scored with assists going to Peter Foster and Teppo Numminen. Seattle outshot Vasteras 7-1 in the period. You would think the second period would bring the Vasteras IK better fortunes right? Yes and no, they scored at 4:23 with the goal going to Yanic Perreault and assists going to Vitali Yachmenev and Zigmund Palffy. That was the only good as they generated on one more shot, which was the bad. Seattle on the other hand wasn't that much better but they did just enough to go into the third period with a lead as Steven Morin scored as 19:42 with assists going to Toby Petersen and Christian Stolzschweiger. Vasteras was out shot by the Everblades 5-2 in the second period. The third period was all Seattle all the time. They outshot Vasteras 7-0. Swish that around in your mouth a little bit; think about it, a whole 20 minutes and Vasteras managed 0 shots. Steven Morin scored on the first shot of the period with assists going to Joey Kendrick and Robbie Zimmers. Vitali Yachmenev recorded a roughing minor as he took out his frustrations on Teppo Numminen of the Seattle Everblades. I think this is an amazing fact as there has not been one power play goal in the preseason as again from this game no one scored on the PP. Through 7 games we have 0 PP goals. At 13:46 Toby Petersen put this baby to bed with a goal with the only assist going to Danny Tremblay. First star went to Steven Morin for his 2 goal effort, more interestingly he had only 2 shots in the game. Toby Petersen received second star honours for finishing with 2 points a goal and assist as well as +2 and winning 5 face-offs. Third star went to Todd Fedoruk for finishing with 1 goal and a +2. Matthew Pogge allowed 4 goals on 17 shots for a save percentage of 0.765. Another interesting stat is the winning goalie finished with a lower save percentage than the losing goalie who also got pulled. Tyler Vassell allowed 1 goal on 3 shots for a save percentage of 0.667. Joseph Baker entered the game after the 4th goal was scored and saved the only two shots he faced. This trip consisted of 4,418 miles and a 9 hour time difference. When they left Helsinki at 5 PM Helsinki time they would get to Calgary around 6-7 AM Calgary time. The game started off with a bang as center Reg Vaillancourt took a double minor for roughing up Jay Bris. This stagnant power play to start off with the creation of the VHL has now reached 0 for 19. Helsinki has now gone 0 for 2. They gained energy from the PK though as they killed it and as Reg Vaillancourt stepped out of the sin bin he set up a goal 18 seconds later. Agent Cody Banks scored with assists going to Brad Janssen and Reg Vaillancourt. Calgary also outshot the Frostbite 9-5 in the period. The teams barely showed any signs of life in the second period though as only 8 shots came of it. Calgary took another penalty as Shawn Crowley received a holding minor. Again though, Calgary's PK came up big stopping Helsinki from scoring and getting momentum from it. Brett Slobodzian scored with assists going to Aki Berg and Adam Hall. Calgary had 5 shots and Helsinki only 3. In the third period Helsinki woke up and really put the home team on the ropes as Jay Bris scored 0:18 into the period. Assists went to Jeff Downey and Andrew Remeikis. The home was now being pressured as the safe 2 goal lead was now only a 1 goal lead. The Frostbite tied it up less than 3 minutes later with a goal from Blair Betts from Oscar Keller and Alexei Fedorov. The Frostbite kept up the pressure hitting the Wranglers as soon as they touched the puck but at 15:40 Brett Slobodzian broke out of the zone and scored at 15:47 to put the Wranglers up for good. He scored his seconds goal of the game with assists going to Lucas Smith and Scott Boulet. The crowd of 15,051 was sent home happy as the home team won in exciting fashion. First star went to non-other than Brett Slobodzian. Second and third went to Jay Bris and Cody Banks respectively. Sam Lafluer stopped 13 of 16 shots and his counterpart Drew Barclay stopped 14 of 16. Helsinki finished 0 for 2 on the PP while Calgary didn't receive one at all but the PK went 2 for 2. Stockholm Thunder ~ 0 Wins ~ 1 Loss ~ 0 Overtime Losses ~ 1 GF ~ 3 GA Jesus: Hamilton Vasteras Toronto Amstel Seattle Calgary Helsinki Stockholm Looking back at the season previews, I found this interesting prediction from none other than Jesus Christ. After the first day he is 100% correct if we go by goals for and goals against. That's pretty crazy if you ask me as our lord and saviour saw into the future to give us this 'prediction'. Now we start on the team's second games on Day 3. Day 3, Game 5: Vasteras IK vs Stockholm Thunder The Vasteras IK had the first back to back game in VHL history when they played the Thunder in Stockholm. They travelled about 1 hour and 14 minutes west to Stockholm after defeating Seattle at home in a shootout. Stockholm on the other hand came all the way from Toronto travelling 3,930 miles. The time difference must have been a killer. They left right after their game finished at 10 PM EST and made it back to Stockholm at around 5 AM Stockholm time. With a day of rest they were hosting their Swedish rival Vasteras. The first period started off with a bang as Stockholm was caught slipping as Jon Clark scored for Vasteras a mere 23 seconds into the game. Other than that one goal Stockholm dominated from that point on out shooting the IK 9-5. Travis Moen may have killed some momentum taking a hooking minor at 8:09 of the first. The second period kicked off with another quick goal by Vasteras. Scotty Campbell gave Vasteras a 2 goal lead at 0:22 seconds of the second period. Dean McIntosh picked up his second assist of the night while Jon Clarke also picked up his second point with an assist. When all seemed lost Marian Oshie of the Thunder scored at 7:08 of the second period to cut the lead to 1. The goal was assisted by Travis Brigley and John Lujibudikoha. Vasteras had also outshot the Thunder 7-5. No penalties were taken in this clean second period. The third period seemed like all was doom and gloom for this home crowd of 15,098. At 6:55 though, everything changed. Johan Lujibudikoha scored with assists going to Guillaume Latendresse and Travis Brigley. That was definitely the pendulum swinging in the other direction as Stockholm picked up their play and played as a team. It also helps they received a powerplay via a Vitali Yachmenev hooking minor at 8:16. With Stockholm pressing to end this game a hero emerged as Tony Amonte scored with 7 seconds left to send this crowd home happy. Chris Julien and Tomas Surovy picked up the assists. Who would have guessed the home team would score 3 unanswered goals? Ookie Mexico picked up his first career win stopping 17 of 19 shots. Matthew Pogge on the other hand a decent game as well, stopping 24 of 27 shots. Stockholm may have won but the Vasteras IK had a clean sweet on the 3 stars with 1st start going to Jon Clarke, 2nd going to Johan Lujibudikoha and 3rd going to Dean McIntosh. Hamilton travelled 4,456 miles to reach this destination. For example when it is 6 PM on Thursday in Amsterdam it is 10 AM Thursday in Calgary. Good thing Hamilton had a couple of days to get there. In the first period a whole lot of nothing happened. Quite literally, only 5 Amstel shots happened as well as 3 Hamilton shots. Other than that few hits took place. What a bland first period. I'm surprised the crowd of 14,978 stuck around for this game after that rather disappointing first period. They were rewarded for sticking around with a goal. At 0:23 Joe Gilman took a hooking minor. However, it was not by the home team as Hamilton scored at 2:49, Joe Gilman returning to the ice from his penalty, rifled a shot home with assists going to Alexei Zhamnov and Anders Eriksson. The home team was getting the majority of the shots so a couple had to go in right? well you guessed it folks, Amstel scored the next goal. At 10:20, Petr Shirokov scored with assists going to JJ Krever and Ondreaj Skokan (I think this might be the one goal so far where no CPU has scored of assisted on it). With the period winding down, it seemed as if this period was going to end in a tie but Andreas Dackell had other plans. Dackell scored at 18:03 of the second period. The third period started with a lot of hits and a lot of battling for possession. Alexei Zhamnov took a hooking minor at 2:52 of the third to send his team on the PK. The Canucks killed the penalty with Jesus Christ making 3 stops to keep his team close. With the momentum coming from the penalty kill the Hamilton Canucks tied the game up at 8:16 with a goal from Alexander Mogilny. The only assist went to Anders Eriksson. After a few other hits and shots this game was going to OT. The overtime period started with the Hamilton Canucks all over the home team as they wanted this win. The overtime period is only 5 minutes so nobody but the Canucks thought this was going to end in OT. With the game ticking down into the final seconds Mr. Alexander Mogilny who tied it up also ended the game as he scored with 3 seconds left in OT. The assists went to Donald Bartch and Alyn McCauley. What an ending to a game which started rather bland. Jesus Christ saved 15 of 17 shots and his counterpart Robert Sharpe stopped 15 of 18. Both played exceptionally but not stellar. First star went to none other than Alexander Mogilny, second went to Anders Eriksson and third went to Andreas Dackell.
