Tord Yvel Drafts his All Star team. Hello and Welcome to VHL times. Today we sat down and had a Chat with Tord Yvel. Who didn’t make the All-star game. Dare one say he was FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY!? No, certainly not. He’s been dogshit all season and both him and we know he shouldn't be within two states of an All star Game. Left Wing AK92 wit da Hoodie - @hedgehog337 What a season! this is Hall of fame numbers for sure. 47 Games 69 points. Looking at the numbers it’s easy to believe that this is a blue-line coastin’ puck hog. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. With 171 bone crushing hits he is engaged everywhere one the ice! Goalies and Players be Aware! He’ll snipe, he’ll crush, ya girl will blush! (Or Gush,pick one depending on age and other factors) Center I’m not certain who to pick here There’s two/three Centers that would all be deserving and a lot more Centers is just a smidge from being in contention. the top is all worthy of this place so i just have to go with my gut here. I will choose to go with one of my personal favorites for 2nds All Star Defender. 1st Defender Mark Calaway - @Beketov 40 apples and 16 goals for 56 points. As a defender is pretty, preeeeettttyyy preeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttttyyyy goood!. That put’s him 19th in total scoring and the only D-man in the top 20. Calaway gives his team an offensive output without sacrificing to much on the defense side it looks like 124 Hits and 105 Blocked potatoes. 2nd Defender The only one that might be a bit controversial, but would definitely be my pick. Liv Slater - @Subject056 Putting up 48 points in 48 games All while having some of the nicest numbers on the back end with 148 bone crushing hits and blocked the puck 153 times Liv is doing something right. "TrailBlazer Of the Year" would only be awarded every 2 seasons and would be given to a member of the forum who has contributed ideas/time or anything else to make the community/game/League be better in any way, shape or form. 2. Between which two leagues would you think a "relegation/promotion" system would be the most interesting? (VHL and VHLE, or VHLM and VHLE. Disregard the TPE limits for purposes of this hypothetical.) Hmm, i don't think that will work, the VHLM and VHLE are too volatile to make it work. As for VHL the idea of maybe make the VHLE a lesser VHL would be fun, Remove the tpe cap and make it very expensive and maybe something else if they want to recruit the best of the best. 3. Your player has their own personal goal song! If you are a goalie, your player has their own theme song! What is the song that your player is choosing? "Lars Winnerbäck - Något som verkligen är bra" (Something that's really good) but i would change the lyrics to something like "could be a breakfast by the ocean could be a kiss on a train could be a night on Debaser that you barely remember Could be a car to Halland Like Yvel in New York. 1) It's been a hot minute! The Americans are under new management with new general manager @STZ, how are you feeling about the change so far? I liked Thad and think he did good things, and i think STZ has continued to do good things. I'm a happy camper. 2) How did your player spend their offseason? Playing in the PROam, was in sweden visiting relatives and training. 3) Between signings and callups, the Americans are a fundamentally different squad this year. What do you think was our best area of improvement? All the positions has really been i improved. but i believe that getting a good goalie in WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW has been crucial for our early sucess. 4) What do you look for most in a team captain? Being a good dude/dudette off the ice, Can't have an asshole and expect people to follow. 5) It's been a fairly hot start for the Americans, what do you attribute that most to? teamwork, We all have improved individually over the summer and when put together you can really see the work in action. 6) Be honest-- is New York style pizza the BEST style of pizza? Let’s take a fast look at The New York Americans who have emerged as one of the leaders in this short stint of games. It’s probably too early to make any real judgments but let’s do it anyway. Because they have done some things “Real guud”. Their defense and netminding got a real boost with the 1st overall C.G.Y Jensen And the goalie who couldn’t get enough W’s, WWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWWWW getting the call from the Big Club . And it shows! While not being too shabby on offense(Being in the top half of teams in goals for), The Defense is one of two areas where The Americans shine They are the only team letting in only ten(!) Goals in 6 games! (London united are also at 10 but 5 GP) Limiting shots on goal seems to be the recipe, 3rd fewest shots against. The ones that slip through the cracks, WWWWWWWWW seem to have no problem scooping up (0,938%). The other Area where the fans get their bang for the buck is Special teams. 40% on the powerplay! That probably isn't sustainable but they do have a top heavy team upfront that should at the very minimum guarantee an above average Powerplay. 84% on the PK is currently in the middle of the pack but nothing to sneeze at. Looking at their roster up and down, Watching tapes, Calling my sources I can say with some confidence that I believe they will hover around that percentage all season long. Welp, Look at that. I want to get my defence as high as possible without paying 8's. 3. Your teammate gets hit from behind and is hurt while you're on the ice, and you're the closest teammate. What is your reaction?
