It's a shame they beat our streak record, but way to end the Vegas streak tonight boys. All our games have been close, if we stay active we'll give them a run for sure.

*This is something similar to my article*

Do you think I'm done? You wish! We have more than 10 active draftees, so let's go to the second round!

    11. CALGARY WRANGLERS

    D - Darryl Took, 44 TPE @suggestiveavocado

He needed two days to make up his mind. But now he's here, he's earning TPE and he's going to be another contender for TOP 10. But even if he wouldn't make it there, being a steal is nothing to be ashamed of. Especially when you're drafted by a team who's rebuilding.

    12. DAVOS DYNAMO

    D - Michael Kinkaid, 44 TPE @Symmetrik

Although he's not a helluva TPE earner, I assume he's ok with being a second round steal. A quiet player and probably Smarch won't even draft him, but for now he is fine. Maybe Symmetrik will devote more time to Kinkaid in near future and we will have another solid depth defenseman.

    13. TORONTO LEGION (VIA SEATTLE)

    LW - Alexander McManahan, 48 TPE @Wikiplaysgames

Right now he's too fresh for being higher, but if his attempt is going to be positive - TOP 10 is very close then. By the way, he's only second left winger alongside with Laflamme and this fact might lift him up on draft standings.

    14. COLOGNE EXPRESS

    G - Key Perought, 46 TPE @NUCK or Eddie King, 38 TPE @Mr Bohannan

Someone of them is going to be a victim of an influx of goalies and he's going to fall to the second round. So some team might be a lucky to grab another active goalie and I think it's going to be Cologne.

    15. TORONTO LEGION

    D - Hodor, 34 TPE @Hodor

All he's gotta do, is screaming HODOR!!! and we have a strong mid-second round draftee coming up. I'm wondering if he's going to write a media spot someday - which is going to consist of 500 HODOR words. It's going to be hialrious tbh.

    16. RIGA REIGN

    D - Niko Bogdanavic, 33 TPE @Jonessee27

He already stated that he will do only welfares and this can hurt his draft stock. But there's always a chance he's going to do more with Niko, so at this point he could go to my team.

    17. DAVOS DYNAMO (VIA QUEBEC)

    D - Ryan Hamilton, 30 TPE @BeanSobie

Bean already had a depth player here, so it might help him. Looking forward to see him in work.

    18. HELSINKI TITANS

    RW - Alexander McKinley, 30 TPE @Caillean

Caillean also had a good player in past, but her second attempt wasn't so successful. I don't know her interest in making McKinley relevant, but there's always a chance.

    19. NEW YORK AMERICANS

    RW - Daring Do, 30 TPE @Eggy216

I don't know if he will be able to stay longer in this league more than 2-3 months, but he's on Las Vegas team right now and I've heard their LR is booming. Maybe it's going to help him in future.

    20. TORONTO LEGION (VIA STOCKHOLM)

    D - Carryl Took, 30 TPE @suggestiveeggplant

And we will finish off with a dark-horse. Right now we know nothing about him, but if he wants to outclass his brother Darryl, he will need to step his game up. Let's hope this is exactly what's going to happen.

That's it and now I'm out.

    6 TPE goes to Krīgars.

    - The Twins -

Darryl and Carryl have been twins since the day they were born. Which was on the same day in the same year. Today we`ll mostly be looking at Darryl and his road to the VHL. The sport of hockey runs through the blood of the twins as their father Garryl was one of the founding fathers of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. Garryl was also a player in the league for the Canterbury Red Devils and is their all time goal leader. Growing up so closely to the game influenced the twins greatly and as such they both started playing hockey as soon as they could. Both joining the Canterbury Ice Pups. They however didn't follow the steps of their dad the offensive forward. Carryl played defense right from the get go and was known for being a physical player. Always looking for checks and big hits, while also being able to sneak a solid pass down the ice. Darryl started his hockey career in the crease as a goalie, but switched to defense after become more of a backup goalie and a spot on the D freed up. The Took's we're now united as defenders and became a force to be reckoned with in their defensive zone. As a total opposite of his sister, Darryl is an offensive defenceman. Carryl is the guardian on the blue line and Darryl is clapping bombs from the point. Another one of his strong points is his ability to control the puck. Wether he is in a board battle for the puck or trying to get around another skater his control never let's him down when it comes down to it.

    - Canterbury Red Devils -

After years of training with the Canterbury Ice Pups they reached the age of 15 and started playing for the junior Red Devil team. Here they would play two seasons and then get called up to play in for the Red Devil's main team. Dad Garryl Took, aged 41, decided to play one more season when his kids came up to the main roster. Throughout the seasons Darryl has posted some intense stats:

    2014-2015 Canterbury Junior Red Devils: 15 GP - 9 Goals - 18 Assist - 27 Points - 13 PIM - +13 - 10 Hits - 23 Shots Blocked
    2015-2016 Canterbury Junior Red Devils: 16 GP - 12 Goals - 20 Assists - 32 Points - 16 PIM - +20 - 12 Hits - 27 Shots Blocked
    2016-2017 Canterbury Red Devils: 15 GP - 10 Goals - 15 Assists - 25 Points - 12 PIM -  +11 - 5 Hits - 34 Shots Blocked

Fun statistic: 12 of Darryl's 15 assist were assisting his dad Garryl score a goal. He was also set up for a goal 5 times by his sister.

    - Future -

Darryl Took came into the league during the 55th season of the VHL and was placed on the waivers. Receiving multiple offers from teams around the VHLM he had a difficult choice of deciding for which team he would play. The twins wanted nothing tells but to play with each others and it seemed that might have also been the reason why it took so long for Darryl to choose. in the end he signed a 1 million dollar deal with the Ottawa Lynx's. Looking forward to the upcoming games and draft to the VHL, Darryl is set to work his butt off and get alot of training in. Hoping to impact the league in a big way and also becoming a representative for Hockey in his home country.

Christchurch, New Zealand - A bittersweet moment for fans of the Canterbury Red Devils. After one season of playing for the Red Devils and gaining some hockey experience on a high level, the twin rookies Darryl and Carryl Took announced they would be chasting their hock dreams in the VHL. The two instantly became fan favorites due to their father, Garryl Took, who has been the star player for the Red Devils since the club establishment in 2005. Fans are planning to hold a farewell party for the Took's and will be wishing them the best of luck in pursuing their dream.

Earlier this morning news broke out that Darryl had accepted a one million dollar offer from the Ottawa Lynx's. We bet he has found a great hopme and cant't wait to see what he brings to the table in Ottawa. Carryl's path down the VHL road is still unclear, will she join her brother or will she become an opponent of him. It is unclear when Took's first games with the Lynx's will happen, but we can't wait to see how they go for him.

    - Darryl Took -

    Position: Defender
    Age: 18
    Height (inches): 6.6"
    Weight (lbs.): 210
    Jersey Number: 13
    Birthplace: Christchurch, New Zealand

Hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand comes hockey sensation Darryl Took. Darryl, together with his twin sister Carryl, announced their desire to come and play in the VHL. Leaving the NZIHL (New Zealand Ice Hockey League) after just one season of playing in it. For many people the name Took will probably not ring a bell. Giving this young kiwi an interesting status. He`ll either be a nobody who ends up not making the cut to the big league or he could be an unexpected monster on the ice. Let's look at some of the strengths and weaknesses.

    - Strenghts -

    Defensive play

Took's defensive awareness is one of his main strenghts. He's always ahead of the play, he`ll go down to block a shot or poke check the puck of his opponent. He works the boards like no other and is able to recover from slip ups quickly. You are looking at a player who could potentially become one of the strongest players in his defensive end of this time.

    Scoring

A golden touch for scoring. Together with the way he can handle a puck Darryl can be a very mean player in the offensive end aswell. Don't leave this guy unattented at the point, because he will fire a ripper towards the net. Darryl has confirmed this will be one of his main focus points during the time he's getting himself adjusted to the VHL enviorment. So expect his bomb clapping to only get better, best you get to hiding the moms.

    Dedication

Very dedicated to become one of the top in his draft class and the league, Darryl will be looking to always improve his abilities. Any team will be luckily to pick up Took as they`ll aquire a working horse. No matter what the situation is, Took will always put on a smile and continue being the best.

    - Weaknesses -

    Passing

While the guy knows how to shoot, he can also be a bit of a pug hog. Getting himself into trouble as he wants to keep going with the puck instead of giving it to an open someone. When he does pass the pass will tend to be slighty off which hurts his preformance on the rush. Give it some time and a little work and this won't be a problem for Took anymore.

    Skating

Took is not a strong skater right now. He's slower than the average player and this hurts his ability to backcheck. There's so many a player can work on in a season, but Took seems to have already started following intensive skate trainings with the Lynx's skating coach, so who knows how fast he can pick up the pace.

    Checking

You won't be seeing Took laying down opponents every time he gets the chance. Keeping them off the puck is something he rather does by using his stick and then poking or stick checking in the hopes off disarming his opponent. We believe checking will never really be one of Took's strongest points. Out of the two Took twins Darryl is the one who like to get into the plays then stopping them.
