The day set calm, and the reporters hoarded around top star for the Saskatoon Wild to ask him some questions about his future in the league. Jarome freshly out from a 5 point outing, was eager to meet all the reporters and answer any questions they had for him. Jarome, how do you feel about the rumours that say you asked for a trade to Bern? Jarome modestly responded, my buddy took over the Bern Royals recently, and due to him having such a lackluster roster, I felt I could be a good guy and go over and help. I never wanted to leave Saskatoon, the team and city has been great to me, but I just wanted to help an old friend. Rumours also say that you approached your coach regarding a promotion, but you were shut down almost immediately. How do you feel about that? Jarome responded saying, well the team is on a roll right now. With 8 straight wins in our belt, I think that changing up the lines would hurt the team, yes I asked for a promotion, and yes I was shut down, but it was for the team, and I need to start being more of a team player, and not just playing for my own stats. **SCRUM LEAVES**

Hello, my name is Kathryn Tappen and tonight we bring you back "Wild Night." This was a brand new segment that we started to run on VHL Tonight, and due to the popular demand, we will be bringing it back for S40! So sit back, relax, grab a beer and stand by for WILD NIGHT! *NHL Network Music Plays* KT: Hello all viewers, and welcome back to the Season 40 edition of Wild Night! Along with my host from last season, Dean Liken, we will go through the game of the week from the Saskatoon Wild, and recap that game with all the analysis you won't get anywhere else! Dean, take it away! DL: Well Kathryn, tonight we have the first game of the regular season for the Saskatoon Wild, they take on the Turku Outlaws. **FIRST PERIOD** DL: Off we go and the puck has been dropped on the 40th season of the VHLM, just 4 minutes into the opening frame, the Wild already have mustered 4 shots on the goal, with the second line powering the Wild and pinning the Outlaws in their own zone. Rubin passes the puck down to Iginla, who sends a cross crease pass to Griffin Simons, who bangs it into the back of the net gives the Wild a one goal lead early on! KT: Excellent passing displayed by the Wild right here, great execution by Simons for his first of the season, and first as a member of the Saskatoon Wild. DL: The Wild would not stop there, as Lights Bokan takes a bad interference penalty sending the Outlaws to a powerplay, but right off the draw, Galibraith feeds Iginla a nice breakaway pass, and he makes no mistake going top shelf on the Unknown Goalie for Turku. 2-0 Wild! KT: Iginla's read on this play absolutely led to the goal. If he hadn't turned on his jets from the drop of the puck, this would have not happened. Good play! DL: Just four minutes after that, the 2nd line still on the ice, Rubin passes it over to Iginla who fires a clapper from the circle and beats the Unknown Goalie giving Saskatoon a 3-0 lead early in the period! KT: What a shot! Iginla already has three points in the opening frame! DL: Now just 4 minutes to go in the frame, and the Wild strike again, as Gunzerker Salvador beats the Unknown goalie five hole, with a nice shot from the point. KT: Salvador with a good look and he executes on the play to give the Wild a four goal lead heading into the second period. **SECOND PERIOD** DL: Second period of play beginning now, despite the scoring onslaught by the Wild, the Outlaws managed to keep up with them in shots, as they tied 13-13. Just 6 minutes into the frame, Jakobssen takes a hooking penalty sending the Outlaws to another powerplay, but yet again, Jarome Iginla finds a way to dissect the defenders and score another shorthanded goal for the Wild. KT: Iginla is on fire this game! Already three points in the first, and he adds to that with his third goal of the night! DL: The hats rain down onto the ice and Iginla, as he celebrates his first career VHLM Hattrick! That would prove to be the only scoring in the frame, the Wild outshot the Outlaws 12-3 in that frame. Onto the third we go. **THIRD PERIOD** DL: Just a minute into the period, Iginla enters the zone and feeds a beauty pass over to Griffin Simons who drops it back to Kurri and he scores his first of the season, and the Wild lead 6-0 now! KT: The Wild already won the game in the first period, but good on Kurri for getting his first of the season in this onslaught! **POST GAME** DL: The final buzzer sounds, and that would mark the end of the first game for the Wild! Great game here for the fans. KT: Indeed it was, the Wild outshoot the Outlaws 11-3 in the final frame, and 36-19 in the game. Jarome Iginla gets our star of the night, with his amazing 5 point performance to start the season! DL: We decide to give the Wild an A- for their efforts tonight. They did take a couple penalties which may have cost them, but in the end it all worked out for them. KT: That is our show for the week!
