I don't doubt it actually. Knowing the PM's i've been getting from the GM's. -
Claimed: CIA's S58 Dispersal Mock Draft [1/2]

Well considering there is more in that paragraph being discussed as well, I think it's to inform people. I know it doesn't matter as I've seen the order of it and given who is first they now might be passing on me anyways. -

Yes and as I stated above (which you may not have read) that portion is still being discussed. See even when the BOD does leak stuff people don't pay attention haha -
Claimed: CIA's S58 Dispersal Mock Draft [1/2]
Kendrick replied to CowboyinAmerica's topic in Archived Media Spots
As discussed in the BOD though those players on rookie deals would still be able to re-structure as forcing them to stay with teams that they never originally signed their contract with would be a huge negative for the league. Let's not forget the players in dispersal never asked to be there as they were committed to their teams. Not to mention, even a trade would be dictated by the player as "a team they would like to go to" would be the place they get traded to or the GM ends up biting themselves in the foot for drafting someone not staying long -term. It think you might think that the cards are solely in the GM's draftings hands, when they actually lean more to the player than anything. -

As mentioned before, re-structuring of contract would happen regardless. So essentially it would be out of their hands -

I will stop everyone in their tracks before reading this and announce a disclaimer. Do not read this if you feel that it might easily offend you in regards to your stances on recruitment and what should be done. This entire passage is upfront, honest and the stark truth about the recruitment history in the Victory Hockey League. None of this is to make anyone feel bad about what they have or haven't done here in regards to recruitment, but in fact is a way of pointing out the problems we have in attracting new members and actually putting some elbow grease into this area. Have you ever said the following: This board needs to recruit better or else it will die? If you have then you are just like 99% of the membership group here. However, if you've also said the following: I don't have the time or energy to go out and recruit as it's a lot of work Then guess what my friend, you are part of the problem. I'm not blaming anyone are simply stating that you should be removed from the village with a beheading for the whole town to witness. What I'm saying is that by stating this board needs to recruit better you are stating the obvious and it applies to any board really. However, in the same breath by stating that you don't have the time to do so, you are basically telling the people who do recruit that they are being taken advantage of. Hear me out no this because right now it looks bad on you but I'll tell you my thinking. If I have recruited more than two dozen members to this board (which I think it goes into the 40's in reality) then I have done a pretty solid job. Now, I don't have any more time to do this than you do. In fact while I'm recruiting you might be filling that time by playing candy crush or killing hookers in grand Theft Auto. There's nothing wrong with doing any of those three things; in fact I encourage you to let loose on those hookers until none of them want to jump into your Bravado Banshee (OP car btw). The thing is while you claim to take pride in this league, in reality you only take pride in what benefits you and only you. Some may claim I am a selfish member as I've stated in the past that I take myself out of position to be drafted by some teams or that I signed with a bunch of free agents to win a cup. However, those two things right there are not as big of a liability as someone claiming this league is poor at recruitment but then doing shit all to improve it. Did you know that half of my recruits came from establishing myself on forums for maybe 3 days and then linking the VHL in their "Gaming" or "Off-Topic" section? That's right, when I say I established myself I joined, joined in on some of the discussion and then let them know about the Victory Hockey League. I actually just have a bookmark folder called "Recruitment Links" and its for forum I've gone to and accepted my link without thinking it is spam. Now, it's not a fail proof system as I did have my link removed once or twice from some boards and got cussed out on one (Dave from that sports forum was an ass). However, it has worked in fact one of the current General Managers in this league @DollarAndADream was from one of those forums I linked to. It took no more than 5 minutes a day to recruit on all these boards as well, which is the beauty of it because those hookers still need you to roll up in that Banshee. Have you ever asked this question before: I want to recruit but have no clue where to start and thus I won't do it Well see that's not a poor question and technically you are part of the solution and not the problem. Wanting to help but having no avenue to do so is not your fault and in fact I praise you for wanting to help but not being able to get the ball moving on it. But after stating this don't go roll up in your Banshee just yet, stay with me here. There are a ton of places to look but given our board hasn't had the resources listed for those places, its hard to blame the casual member who wants to help. Thus I have some suggestions for you that will be beneficial to you and the board. The following are a list of places to start: Sites: NHL Forums (Respected Team Forums) NHL related Discord Channels NHL Reddit Boards Gaming Forums STHS Forums MetroHo HockeyNewsForum HFBoards Twitter Facebook Groups, Pages & Discussion Forums EASHL Forums/Pages Last thing I want to bring up is recruitment incentives and what exactly should be said and shouldn't in this area. Recruitment is the lifeblood of a league and without it you don't grow. It is said that things that don't grow get left behind and that isn't something we want this league to do. We want to continue to add new members and make our draft classes loaded with talent and discussion like the good old days. So when some suggests the recruitment incentives to be loaded with TPE, don't sit there and snarl because you feel it is too much TPE. At one point I was recruiting tons of people to this site and we gaining a butt load of TPE from it. A couple people hated that and in turn the recruitment TPE incentives dropped down to pretty much nothing. Guess what else dropped down? Recruitment numbers. If you honestly believe that rebranding has more of an influence on this board than recruitment does, you are brainwashed into thinking your creative side outweighs the gritty job of the VHL. With all this I urge you to either be part of the solution or be quiet.

So if you haven't heard yet about the Victory Hockey League going down to eight teams, than you either just woke up and (I thank you for reading this first) or you are wasted. In the case of @frescoelmo it could be both and that's perfectly fine as well. The Blue Team recently announced that they were interested to know some of the ideas people had for realignment now that we have eight teams all in the World Conference. Of course with Calgary, Toronto, Quebec, Seattle, New York, Davos, Riga and Helsinki still kicking around it does present an interesting thought that it is lop-sided in geography. In this article you will hear my plan for re-allignment and what each team does in the situation explained. First and foremost, the first idea would be to move all European franchises to North America and it's one that I heavily favour over the alternative. Hockey is a growing sport but given the membership group here and the future recruitment, appealing to the main fanbase is what's best. No disrespect to the European members (I am one of those being from Germany) but North America is the hockey continent considering the leagues situated there and the great conditions with flights (*cough*KHL*cough*). So the bottom paragraph gives you a bit of insight on what we should be doing with those three European franchises (Helsinki, Riga and Davos). Helsinki --> Halifax This is the one that makes the most sense to me. Moving Helsinki to Halifax would be wise and if the need for rebranding is there, they can still do it but also keep the Titans if they want. Halifax is a good city and I think tapping into this market would be wise going forward. Not only that but Halifax is a growing area of the country and I feel like the need for more sports teams out there is wise. From a recruitment standpoint it makes tons of sense considering we currently do feature several members with ties to Halifax in some way or have even visited the city. From what I've been told, it's a pretty nice place to be. HC Davos --> Kelowna This one makes more sense once I've explained it. Kelowna is a huge hockey market and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. I have been to many Kelowna Rockets games over the past 12 years and so has @TheLastOlympian07 and you will always hear that the place is pumping. It is a factory for hockey players (Shea Weber, Alexander Edler, Damon Severson and more). The mountains are right there in Kelowna so the log could just get a quick colour re-touch (I'm thinking green since the area has tons of trees and we are dropping the Express) but they could also do a full rebrand as well. From what I understand Davos is a small place with 11,000 people in it. I mean if all 11,000 went to the stadium they wouldn't be in terrible shape but chances are your aunt Martha isn't a fan of hockey. Plus I can really sell this market to recruitment boards and WHL forums and they will bite on it 100%. Riga --> Chicago I wanted a VHLM franchise years ago but the blue team gave it to Robbie instead because they like to see the world burn. I was going to place them in Chicago and had a full out cool colour scheme and logo ready to go. Time to more Riga there now though and it just makes sense. Several members on the board have ties to Chicago and have been there (myself included) and it is an untapped market in the hockey simulation world at the moment. Not to mention we know it is a hockey city because we've seen it with the Madhouse on Madison with the Blackhawks. This one is obvious and saying less might be more in this case. Plus recruitment would be easy as it would draw in a lot of the mid-west audience that support hockey (millions on twitter alone). Now the next section only lists one team and that is because it would fall into the NA team re-locating to the European side of things if we were to do it the other way. I don't suggest this way but if it happens i think we should probably do it this way. Quebec --> Prague If you've watched international hockey you'll know that Prague is a hockey hotbed and a place this league has yet to look at. Prague is the capital city of Czech Republic and would be a great fit. The reason Quebec gets moved is because Cologne got axed and I feel it's a big dishonour to not move the franchise that came in with Cologne given their success is not that much greater. Calgary is a staple in the VHL, Toronto is as well. New York is one of the most successful franchises and Seattle has been here since the first season. Quebec naturally falls into the re-location process and we move them somewhere credible in Europe. I never listed a Russian city because the KHL is a tire fire and let's be honest, Russia is kind of a mess right now with their "puff our chests" personality. Before anyone screams bloody murder, I am ¼ Russian but am not proud of it right now. There you have it, my "old boys club" view on reallignment/relocation if it were to happen down the road. I've been here since season one so this whole eight team league thing is nothing new to me but it is a shock to me considering my player is now up for grabs. I would be really stoked to see this happen and if the teams were to move to North American I would be front and center on the recruitment team helping trying to boost this leagues overall viewership. It's no secret a facelift is in order but time and time again from what I've seen, our league likes to think of things to band-aid and not help the situation outright right away. *For Keller (1000 Words, Claiming for this week and next week)

Just saying, doesn't make much sense for them to grab a rental through a rebuild. -

I don't think Calgary is dumb enough to draft me, especially since restructuring contracts will be a thing -
Heads up GM's, if you are thinking about drafting a player; contacting them first is still a good idea.
-
If the two doesnt change anything we can eventually go down to 6 teams, but the other way around makes less sense. Not sure why that's hard to understand.
-
As I mentioned (which you seemed to ignore). It's easier to take 2 teams off and see how it is than it is to have 6 teams and then expand if things ever do get better. I mean so many people are suggesting this site needs to recruit and gets tons of people...but they are the same ones doing shit all in that department as well. "Oh I dont have time" "Not worth the trouble" Those are excuses we here all the time. In stem dof suggesting things, maybe people should bust their ass to recruit?
-
I'm not, you responded passive aggressively just for the sake of it. It's a discussion, no need for the douchey comment.
-
Because even if you drop 2 of those you are in a better spot. Best to see 8 teams and then be able to go down to 6. It's easier to lose teams then to add teams
-
Why so passive aggressive? Goodness.
-
If we cut Calgary and Stockholm thats about 14 players to divide up over 8 teams. Plus the ones on the fence in the VHLM, you have two new players for each team. It's a start and putting our efforts towards that would be best, instead of arguing over whether we go down to 6 teams so quickly.
-
Going from 10 to 8 would be a start, but not down to 6 when we have 9 GM's that are fully committed
-
I'm with you. Playing one team would be boring.

Having 6 teams in a league is boring. Just saying

Except...I don't insult people personally at all. In fact even when insulted myself, I don't attack them personally. Just because you disagree with me on things doesn't make me a troll. I've always been bold with my opinion like Sterling, only difference is that he doesn't always speak. Think you may want to learn the difference between trolling and difference of opinion.
