Was it a dirty hit by Tkachuk or was it an accident?

Yeah I think it's tough but ultimately I don't think it was as intentional as Maurice is making it out to be.
People need to be able to differentiate between dirty and intent to injure though. Intent to injure generally requires some evidence of pre meditation. Cookes hit on Savard for example. In hockey it's usually from targeting. The dirty hits that come because of misguided timing or playing on the edge are more born of recklessness. Both should still be suspension worthy with context but obvious intent is like nearing a crime and way more serious than reckless behavior in game context.
