d3vilsfire reacted to Ball in Stepping Down
While it was announced just a few moments ago that I was the first to call dibs for the opening on the Blue Team left by the departure of the beloved Victator, therefore making me the new head commissioner of the VHL by law of the dibs, I come here to announce that I will be stepping down from my new position and become part of the common rabble once again.
We had are ups, like when I told Devilsfire he did a good job in Moscow, and we had our downs, like when I announced that I would be stepping down, but all in all I want you to take one thing away from my resignation. The VHL will go on. Dont think of this as rock bottom for the league, dont think of this as the shortest reign by a VHL commissioner in the history of the league. When you think of my tenure as your all mighty leader, remember the good times we had together and cherish them. Remember me not for the mistakes I made, but for the good I did for you and for the league as a whole.
I will never forget you guys and your loyalty to me during my tenure will pay off in dividends one day. I want you all to keep your heads up as I fade into the background once more. Do not shed a tear as I walk away, instead rejoice my friends. This is no te end, but the start of a new beginning for the VHL. Like Motel 6 I will keep the light on for you all so don't forget to write.
It has been an honor guys and gals. I have no regrets.

Not to steal fire from Victor who has had an excellent career as a Commish and his work will surely be appreciated, and he will be missed, but i also have my own announcement.
Due to life getting in the way and a growing disinterest, I have decided it is best for everyone for me to leave my position as GM of the Moscow Red Wolves.
I had a great time being GM for the former Vasteras IK J20 team (which I GM'd for a season), and I really enjoyed rebranding and relocating them which was very special to me.
Moscow Red Wolves will always hold a special place in my heart, and even though I did not win a cup with them, I would like to thank everyone for supporting me and a special thanks to all those that played under my management.
I want to thank Flyersfan and Harley for being my mentors and my VHL brothers on here. Maybe in the future I will return to GMing, but I am not sure.
I will still be around until KJA retires, but I'm still debating if I want to recreate or not, but that is still in another 2 seasons or so.
Thanks everyone! GO MOSCOW

It was inevitably going to happen at some point. I did want to be commish and I don't regret it, I wanted to get things done and I did, but there was no way I would be able to continue at an insane activity and high energy pace for the rest of time. I can no longer motivate myself to do things on the VHL, I even purposefully don't go on the VHL when online so I don't feel an obligation to do things, but of course that's a terrible attitude for a commissioner and especially when my whole tenure was built on doing everything quickly.
With that in mind, I am stepping down. I am not leaving the league but I want to have the freedom to do so when I want to and come back when I want to. For the time being I shall remain a behind the scenes admin in the mould of sterling, which hopefully lower the burden on my successor and for the time being, Higgins.
Yes, speaking of successors, in what might end up being a regrettable decision, I have not picked one. I've mentioned a few candidates in the admin forum and these will be contacted in due course. By the off-season, when an active head commish is key, there will be one, but for now, I wanted to give everyone interested to have a fair chance to make themselves known so the VHL's new leader is both the best and most willing (or an effective apprentice to Higgins should he decide to become the head honcho).
Anyway, that's that. It's been a blast but if I stepped up to ensure there was commish proactivity, then I owe it to everyone to step down when I can no longer guarantee it.

I did my biography and my PT for the week. I posted it in the HC Davos discussion thread thinking it was the same as this one because no coffee. If you're bored you can read it I guess. lol
I also added VHL teams to my video game. I was trying to look for Moscow's logo, but I couldn't find an original logo file like the other ones. If I can get one I can add it in soon.

Glad I can help. Reilly and Jala said to do the bio, rookie profile, and the fan 590 thing you mentioned. I did training camp, the Christmas 12 thing, and the practice facility for 1. Reilly and Jala said I could, at least. But I will do the rest before Friday. Yay, Moscow.

d3vilsfire reacted to lere2001 in Life is Fragile
These last two days I can easily say are the worst I've ever had. Yesterday, I was with my girlfriend in a small town in Alberta with her step-dad's side of the family and we got the call saying that my girlfriend's father had committed suicide in his garage. Every moment since then has been one big tear. I don't think there has been a minute that has passed since without some sort of pain, tears, or *insert emotion here. I'm exhausted, mentally and physically, and there's nothing that I can do about it because nothing heals these wounds. You don't live through something like this without being affected for the rest of your life. My girlfriend is strong, real fucking strong, but I've watched her break down more times than I'd like to for the rest of my life during this. This is the hardest time of my life and it wasn't even my father.
To make it complete, my best friend's grandfather passed away today. Two very hard funerals coming up and right now, I don't even know what to do with my life. Honestly, I don't know how many point tasks I can get in for the next "however long", but I just needed to come on and vent to someone, anyone. I don't know who is going to read this, but thank you and keep me, my girlfriend, and my best friend in your thoughts.
