1. We recently beat LA and NY, then just lost 2 in a row tonight to London and Davos. What do you think the issue is? 2. Which DC Dragons forward is impressing you the most so far this season? 3. Which DC Dragons defenseman is impressing you the most so far this season? 4. Is there a potential trade you would do, that you think would improve this team? 5. Is Stone Wolski the goalie of the future for this team? His VHL career has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far, despite improving every season. 6. Which team has the best chance to win it all this season?

Big dub for DC! -
Dope!

0.900 and a SOL is good enough for me.

That's a step in the right direction for both Wolski and the team.

SBA ending the affiliation last time was always a big disappointment to me. While I understood the reasons why they chose that direction, I still fought against it and brought it up more than I should have when it wasn't really relevant over on SBA. I'm glad that the two sides were able to come back together again. This is best for both of our communities, and now the trifecta of VHL/SBA/EFL can be whole again. There are so many great members on all 3 sites, and there is a ton of crossover already, so it only makes sense. The changes that VHL made in order to get to a better place, which is why SBA left in the first place, were definitely needed as well. Also, shoutout to VHL for still allowing SBA PTs for 6 TPE this whole time. I probably would have left SBA back then if we didn't keep that lingering on.

What exactly is the issue with a members tag? I get tagged in a lot of stuff since I'm BoG and PT Staff, and I've never really had an issue with it. If I'm tagged in something and I don't care about it, I just move on to the next thing. Regarding this BoG Updates thing, it's something a lot of members asked for. If you don't care about it then just don't click into the notification. Not trying to be a dick or whatever, I'm just curious.

The DC Dragons have had a rough start to the season, with a record of 3-7-1. That's good for the 2nd worst team in the entire VHL. Looking at their roster, you would think they would at least be a middle of the pack team, if not in the top 5-10 range. Their 3 wins this season have come against some good teams for sure. One of those was a 3-2 win against the 6-5-0 Prague Phantoms, one was a 8-5 win against the 8-4-0 Seattle Bears, and the last was a close 3-2 win against the Chicago Phoenix. So basically, their 3 wins have come against 3 types of teams. A top 3, a middle of the pack, and a dead last one. These are definitely some odd times for the DC Dragons. Their most recent games have been a 3-0 loss against the Calgary Wranglers, and a 3-2 win against the Prague Phantoms. Against Calgary, DC was outshot 26-13 with Stone Wolski saving 23 of 26 while Jacques Lafontaine had a 13 save shutout. While those are some low shots for the Dragons, Wolski still should have played better than that. In the game against Prague, DC outshot them 33-27. Wolski saved 25 of 27, while Virgil Ligriv saved 30 of 33. Those are better numbers for Stone Wolski there, and his performance seems to be a bit of a key in winning for the Dragons in a lot of games. If one thing is for sure, it's that Stone Wolski will need to improve on his consistency if the Dragons want to turn things around. One would think that having a Benny Graves and Boris the Forest on forward, and a Luciano Valentino on defense would be enough to have them win more games, but that has not been the case. Wolski's training numbers aren't exactly bad either, and are better than JB Rift's were when he was playing well for DC.

1. Well, I'd say we have to win more games, and lose less games. That's probably the key. Consistency though, to be real. 2. About as hard as I always do! 3. I do like the Phoenix logo better than LA's for sure. Should be some great up and coming teams in the future. 4. I do. We just need to find our stride. I don't know how to really fix it. 0-2-3 offense and 0-3-2 defense all across the board, other than PP and PK? That's how I used to run it. 5. Thai food or Popeye's. 6. To be one of the league's best goalies. Seems to be an uphill battle.

Generally for a goaltender, you want to have an average above 90%, with anything above 92% being fantastic. Anything below 90 is under average, just like the NHL. It's a little different in the VHLM. Goalies are fine being a little under 90% because in the minors, the attributes are a little more all over the place because people are still rounding out their player builds.

Where's Wolski? Did something happen to Stone Wolski over the off-season? This is a question that some analysts and fans are asking after his bad start to the season. He definitely needs to look for some consistency real quick and find his stride, otherwise the D.C. Dragons are in trouble. Wolski has started the season with a 1-4-1 record, carrying a 0.897% saves and a 3.34GAA. His first season of 14 games is his best one so far, and this current one is worse than the last. It strikes as very odd that the more training hours he puts in, the worse he gets. If Wolski wants to make a career out of this, he needs to make a sharp turn and start playing a lot better. Let's take a look at his previous games: NY Americans vs. DC Dragons 4-0 NY This one does not look very competitive on paper. Julius Freeman and Owen Nolan put New York up by 2 goals in the 1st period, then Acyd Burn scored a PP goal in the 2nd to put a bit of a dagger in it. Julius Freeman scored again in the 3rd period as New York domintaed this game and won 4-0. The Americans outshot the Dragons 45-26, which definitely did not help Wolski at all in net, but he still could have been better. Stone Wolski saved 41 of 45 with 91.1% saves, which is actually one of his better games this season. DC Dragons vs. Chicago Phoenix 3-2 DC In this game we had a Dragons team face off against the expansion Chicago Phoenix. This is a game that DC was expected to win, and luckily for them, they did just that. Luciano Valentino scored 2 quick goals to start off the 1st period for DC, and Benny Graves added another at the halfway point to bring DC up 3-0 after one. After a 15-3 shot, dominated 2nd for DC, Chicago crawled out of that one still down by 3, heading into the 3rd period. Chicago's Milos Slavik would score 2 goals for the Phoenix to bring them close, and kill Stone Wolski's numbers, but that was it as the door was held shut the rest of the way. The Dragons won that game in a nail biter by a score of 3-2. Wolski saved 14 of 16, which isn't great, but it's hard to find comfort in net when your team outshoots the opposition 49-16. Chicago Phoenix vs. DC Dragons 5-4(OT) Chicago This game was a bit of a barn burner, and an exciting one especially for the new Chicago Phoenix team. Groovy Dood and Benny Graves put the DC Dragons up 2-0 early in the 1st period. Chicago would come back within one, but Mikko Aaltonen would restore the lead with DC leaving the 1st period up 3-1. The 2nd period started off nicely for DC, where Aaltonen scored another and brought his team up 4-1. Chicago did not take that lightly and decided to turn things around. Vladimir Shaposhnikov scored 2 goals for the Phoenix, bringing the score to 4-3 DC after the end of the 2nd. In the 3rd, Nikita Kulikovich would score his first of the season around the 12 minute mark, tying up the game, and erasing the Dragons' 3 goal lead. That momentum carried itself into OT, as Charles Drumm's penalty put Chicago on the PP, where Squirrely dan scored the OT winner, 14 seconds in to seal the deal for Chicago. Both goalies weren't great, but Stone Wolski was worse than Jean Pierre Camus. Wolski only saved 19 of 24, which is good for 79.2%. If the Dragons are going to go anywhere this season, they will need to start scoring, and Wolski will need to build off of that good performance against NY that he had in net. Consistency will be key, but there's no need to worry just yet, only 6 games in.

Alright.

Wolski, be better.

Stone Wolski entered this season's World Cup as Team USA's backup goaltender. This came as no surprise to him, behind behind a great goalie like Raymond Bernard. Being able to represent that red, white, and blue is an honor, even if just being the second goalie. Through the round robin, Wolski posted a 2-2-0 record with a 0.916% saves and a 2.76 goals against average. Not too shabby for a goalie that's just going in there as support. Although, that 2-2-0 record left a little to be desired considering Wolski's hot start in the round robin. In the first 2 games, Stone Wolski beat Team Nordic 5-1, saving 31 of 32, and lost to the Mercenaries 2-1, saving 33 of 35. This had him starting the tournament with a 95.5% in saves, which is a lot better than he finished out with. Nonetheless, it was a fine tournament for him. Team USA walked away with the bronze medal, defeating Team World 4-3.

Bronze Medal Game - Team World vs Team USA

Bronze medal backup. Fuck yeah. USA! -
1. BigAl is a great pick. Lots of TPE, looks to be a great up and coming forward. I think there's some guidance that could be done to his player build, but he's got high DF already which is great stepping into the VHL. Needs more SC though. 2. This draft was a very deep one. There's going to be a lot of looking back at this draft to see which players earned more TPE than others, so it's definitely a tough one. For DC, I think if we get our later picks to be more active again, then they'll be steals for sure. 3. I think we have a good chance to be top 5. We have a top forward and defenseman both hovering around 1000 TPE, so that's a great start. Combine them with the depth guys and we're set. I feel like last season was an anomaly. 4. Wolski has been at training camp with the Washington Capitals, who have started training camp after quarantine. 5. I've been working on rebounding and style control. I think those areas are super important for a goalie. 6. I bought some new pads!
