  1. In just his second season, captain of the Riga Reign Bronson Faux is already making his mark on the league. That mark isn't exactly that of a superstar player where he's tearing it up, but he's making literal marks on the bodies of the people that gets in his way. Last season he led the league in hits as a rookie and this season saw no change. Faux was near the top of the leader boards in hits since game 1 of the season and was never lower than top 3. Just recently though, Lord Karnage, the self proclaimed MVP of the league had caught up and the two of them battled out who would be the top hitter in the league for the past couple of weeks. When it all came down to it in the final game of the season for the two teams, the Vikings were looking to win and try and claim themselves the top seed in the European conference where Faux saw something else. Karnage had a 3 hit lead on Faux going into the final game and he had to make it up. He did just that as he had a huge 6 hit game where Karnage only managed to get 1 hit. Faux finished with 355 hits, 2 ahead of Lord Karnage and going 2/2 in his career for leading the league in hits.

  4. Going against his first name which is basically a female dog, Bitch Higgins is actuaally a cat guy. He lets everyone know how much he hates dogs and that he much prefers kitty cats. Of course this makes it so he gets made fun of by all his teammates and that he should probably keep that kind of info to himself. Everyone makes comments like, "Maybe your name should be Pussy Higgins instead!" or, "Do you want some catnip to get you pumped up for the game?!" Everyone knows that most guys and the best guys are dog guys but not Bitch Higgins. Even his mom regrets naming him what she does, "I mean I guess he is kind of a bitch for not liking dogs but if you look at his name in a literal way it's really just ironic, when he starts talking about cats I pretend he's not even my son. Maybe one day Bitch Higgins will convert to the good site and stop being a little girl. But first let's see if he can even last in the league for a longer period of time than we should expect.
  5. McQueen also never dominated in points. But if players are fairly even in points, of course the hitter is going to get more 1st stars. Look at the last 6 seasons, there's a hitter every time leading in 1st stars: Wolf Wolf Wolf XXX Tordahl Olsen
  6. The 1st star is weird though. Someone who has 3 points and 10 hits will get the 1st star over someone who has 5 points. Or something ridiculous like 15 shots will sway the 1st star vote. Of course someone who hits is going to get the 1st star more than someone who doesn't. Doesn't mean they are MVP or most dominant on the ice though imo.

  8. BRAMPTON, ON - The Blades have been claiming players off the waivers for free over the past couple of weeks and one of those players is Saul Hackett, a big bodied defenseman. He comes from Canada and has a smaller frame but once he puts on weight he can be a force to reckon with. Brampton is a team that has been competitive but are going through a retool right now. Nonetheless they are locked in a playoff spot currently and Saul will get some much needed experience before the VHLM Dispersal Draft in the off-season. Through 2 games, Hackett has been kind of quiet but it's difficult stepping in midway through the season and playing while everyone is at their top competitive level. Nonetheless he has been throwing the body in front of pucks and has 8 shots blocked in just those two games! He also hasn't been a negative so he's not doing anything bad out there. Hopefully Hackett can ease into the league and continue to get better and eventually get drafted to the VHL in a season's time.

  10. Bronson Faux has been given the opportunity to sign with a SHL team and has to make a decision. His play has only gone down since the beginning of the season and while he still sits at a point per game, already beating last years totals, his frustration is growing. At least if he went to the SHL it's a more low scoring league so he'd fit in. Also he's probably be one of the best hitters over there as the totals don't even come to close to VHL totals. But would he really want to stoop that low and go to a league that requires so much less skill? That's the question. He has it good right now in Riga being the captain of an upcoming team but there's question marks whether or not they will be competitive soon, or how long it will actually take. It's pretty obvious that the smartest choice would be to remain in the VHL and prove that he can be one of the top players in a tough league rather than take the easy way out and go over to the SHL.
