  1. I'd love for you to show me where I said that.
  2. So why are you arguing offense when it says defensive forward lol. I had more hits and three times the shots blocked.
  3. "..in the talks for best two-way player for the rest of his career." Didn't say I was the best this season, not even close. But the two main defensive stats I was the best in so..
  4. > using offensive stats in a defensive forward argument Plus I'm pretty sure that's just hits taken, not turnovers.
  5. In just his first season in the Victory Hockey League, Brennan McQueen was unarguably the best defensive forward in the entire league. On a rebuilding Riga team, McQueen was a force to be reckoned with using his big body structure to lay out the big hit and not being afraid to throw it in front of any shot either. He ended the season leading the league in hits with 371 over the 72 games played. He also posted an outstanding 92 shots blocked which without doing any research is probably the best in the league as a forward and even better than some defensemen! Playing this style of game is dangerous though and he was near the top of the league in penalty minutes almost all season long. With still a ways to go in his career we will see if he can keep up the strong defensive play as well as improving his offensive output. He had a decent rookie season putting up 34 goals, the most of any rookie in the league but just 29 assists for 63 points on the season. If he can up his offensive output quite a bit he could be in the talks for best two-way player for the rest of his career.
  6. I do that in the off-season after draft / free agency
  7. RIGA, Latvia - After an abysmal season for the Riga Reign, there was some upside although missing the playoffs. When the draft lottery took place there was a chance that Riga could move up, down or stay at the same 2nd position. It is a very strong draft this season in depth but there are clearly two top players and after that the talent drops off. The New York Americans hold three of the four lottery picks and obviously the Reign hold the other which they won and will now select 1st overall. The two players that they get to choose from are forward Tom Slaughter who may have been the favourite to go 1st but not too far behind is defenseman Slaeter Fjorsstrom. Looking at needs it is obvious that Riga is in need of a number one defender but they should go with who they think will be the better player. Either way they will receive a great piece to add to the already strong looking future.
  8. More like Riga-ing am I right
  9. It was a long process but something that I set out to accomplish at the start of the season. Knowing that I wouldn't be leading any offensive categories as a rookie on a rebuilding team, I wanted to get my checking to 99 and possibly be one of the best hitters in the league. Well that has been a success as with the point task I just claimed I get my first stat to 99 with this player. I also currently league the lead in hits and with 4 games left I hope I can hold on to that! Currently I'm the only player in the league with 99 in this stat and I think the first since Larsson / Smalling so that's exciting. XXX won't be very far behind though I'm sure. I'm also really happy that I was able to stick with this player to be an effective player. Seeing as my last two were pretty big busts, here's to not only my first 99 but a bunch more and that my player continues to have some moderate success for the remainder of my career to keep me interested in the league!
