First of all thank you @diamond_ace and @McWolf for giving me the opportunity of rejoining this VHLM GM team in S84 after a massive TPE ban, and thank you @Spartan and @Gustav for all the brilliant work you've done since stepping in. I don't think many people realize just how much the VHLM has changed since these two stepped in and they deserve all the credit for it. As well as hiring quality GMs to work beside every season, thank you for making this job so fun and easy to do.

I am stepping down as GM of the Houston Bulls.

When I was hired to GM the Houston Bulls in S84 my goal was to create a strong community and family within my new organization. Since then, @UnknownMinion and @Triller have both AGM'd by my side for 3 of 6 seasons each.  I hired Minion mainly as a sidekick while on the hunt for a GM job of their own but Minion was always a pleasure to work with. Triller stepped in to the league just before Minion left Houston and I snagged him up as quickly as a could. I remember doing this to @MubbleFubbles in Vegas and they both gave me the "thank you but idk if I'm ready, I'll think about it" response before responding only a couple hours later taking the job LOL. Triller is not an AGM to me and he knows it, we run Houston together and I just get the shiny TPE for it. Houston would not be Houston without Triller. From the graphics, to the daily activity, to the fact that I don't even have to explain myself since he won the Elmebeck... Triller has been my ride or die the past three seasons in Houston. Someone who I can happily call a friend and hope to stay connected with throughout our futures. I appreciate everything you have done in the past three seasons with me and you deserve everything I get praised for.

Next thank you to all the players who had the patience and fire to be a Houston Bull. The drive to get better by listening, learning, earning TPE and growing their knowledge of the VHL. Thank you to this S89 roster which is the best I have built in my 6 seasons of GMing. We didn't get the results we wanted but this was hands down my favourite season as GM. Thank you to every player I spammed to try and bring out of inactivity @DontCallMeCarson lol. Thank you @Big Newff for being the only one to play for me for all 6 seasons of my career. I'm happy I got to bring you back to this league and that you were there till the end of my run. Thank you to a player that isn't here anymore and many do not like for showing me that even with such an evil and ugly heart around the league, you will still come back after a perm ban just to be part of the Houston Bulls family again. Thank you @Girts who may have never played for me in Houston, but was my first ever All Star First Gen player in Vegas in S81. You are the reason we want to be a GM in the VHLM and help people love this league more. Thank you to every experience I had with every member, which helped me grow into the person I am in real life today.

Finally, the reason I am leaving Houston is because I'm heading back to school! I'm going back to Western University to play football again! After taking two years off and working, I have had a lot of time to grow and figure myself out. I feel now I am ready and determined to chase my goals, and hopefully one day y'all can see me on the big screen playing in the CFL 🔥 That is the goal with this and if I want to reach it I need to respect it as a full time job, leaving not enough time to meet this job's requirements anymore (as well as the recruitment team which I am leaving too). Thank you to everyone who has stepped into that Houston locker room since I've been around. It's sad letting go as I had so much more planned for this team, but I can proudly walk out saying I left a dent on this organization in a positive way. I hope Houston can continue to grow with whoever takes over in the future. GO BULLS GO

    1) 9-1-2.  Time to finish strong.
    2) we will get to 250, need to help us get there
    3) I don't care where I get drafted.  Maybe rome for VHLE as I love Rome.  For VHL have always loved Seattle.
    4) yes it's time to start feeding him.
    5) nope, he doesn't believe in that stuff.
    6) Eminem, ‘Lose Yourself.  Great song to get pumped up.

leafsman got a reaction from AJW in Kemp hits 50 career VHLM points
Martin Kemp has hit the 50 pointsmark  in his VHLM career in game 64.  He reached the mark with an even 25 goals and 25 assists.   In the next game Kemp got 2 assists so the even split happened at a great time statistically.  It's great to hit the half century mark but points are great but winning is what matters the most. That said I am a physical offensive focused player so if I'm not putting up the points am I really helping the team.  When I don't score I hope my physical play helps us win. I hope that some of my hits can fire up the boys and maybe intimidate the other team at the same time. As I reach the next stage in my career I need learn how to play better in my own zone.  I'm not sure I can ever be the best defensive player in the league but I don't want to be an anchor for my teammates.

    1) a great move as we got another solid max player to help us try and win a cup. The depth we lost can hopefully be replaced by waivers.
    2) I think we have a great team, alot of max players that play great together.
    3) I liked it as I actually participated this year.  The last few I didn't do so was a good one in my books.
    4) our crazy pregame routine which he will need to learn.
    5) a relaxed coach as we can work together.  A hard nosed coach has a short shelf life and rather have someone who will be with us for long term.
    6) I am horrible at public speaking and writing creatively, luckily I don't really need that as an accountant.

leafsman got a reaction from Triller in If I was commissioner for a day
I am not that active in the forum's and barely in my locker room so hard for me to be commissioner for a day. With that said I have some ideas if what I would like to see in the VHL. It's probably wrong but here's what I think. It's probably controversial as it would affect jobs.

The first change I would make is to have the VHLE affiliated with the VHL. I was going to say the VHLM be affiliated with the VHL until I thought more about it and that wouldn't work for some players. My player isn't a max earner but with welfare, press conference and trivia he will reach VHLM TPE cap. I have had a bunch of players as this is number 4 so I'm not sure if that changes things at all. The main reason I would like to see the affiliation is that once you reach the VHL I haven't paid attention to the minor leagues unless I am playing in them. Again I'm not sure if most players have the same thinking but this is my commissioner for a day and it's how I feel. The reason is simple, it works is give a reason that care about the VHLE. There are some players who will only play there for one season and as a result you may not build up a loyalty to that franchise. My last player was the first thing go through the VHLE and despite winning the cup with Vasteras I don't really feel any loyalty to the team. Once I hit the VHL I didn't look at the VHLE at all. I think I would have more of an interest in it as I could follow my future teammates and see how they fared in their minor league career. It would also be easier for VHL players to keep track of how their prospects are doing and bring excitement for future reinforcements. The downside to this would be how it affects the current VHLE GMs. Under my idea, they would basically become coaches in the VHLE and they could be considered VHL assistant GMs. I don't know for sure but I think when Kyle Dubas was an assistant GM for the Leafs he was also the GM of the Marlies. This VHLE assistant GM wouldn't be responsible for the roster but would act as the coach by setting lineups and strategy for the team. They could also help assist the VHL GM in any tasks that the boss deems.

My next suggestion would be to make salaries in the VHL actually mean something. I am on my fourth player now and i have always signed for the league minimum as there really isn't a good reason to ask for more money. I don't really have any ideas on how to make the salary matter. I played in the baseball affiliated league to the VHL for a bit and they made salary matter a bit more as you used it to boost training. I don't know if that would work here but I think something should change to make salaries matter more.

I don't know if anyone will agree with this suggestions but it needed to be said to hit theme week. I haven't done a theme week in awhile as it haven't really been interested in the topics so had no idea what to write. This one I enjoyed as it was easier to think of what to write as I hate writing.

    1) yes we are playing great our team keeps developing and we should have more capped players by the end.
    2) Nope, very business causal for him.  None of this crazy suits.
    3) a nice new car but nothing too extravagant l.
    4) I don't care either way, just want a great team.
    5) my last player was a teammate of ajw with the bears and he asked me if I was interested.  Was an easy yes.
    6) I don't even remember what the last movie I saw in theatres so couldn't tell you the worst lol.

    1) not really as we've been playing great so far.  We just need to keep it going.
    2) l prefer letting the GMs pick, especially at this level where teams are together for a lot less time.
    3) I think it would definitely have to be a mix of all different types of music and it depends on what is needed at the time.
    4) I will agree with omniscius and say Montreal as it's a great hockey city.  Go with Montreal Poutine.
    5) I don't have any interest in management, just want to be a player.
    6) maybe gardening.  My wife's nonno plants a garden in our backyard as they live a street over and I just water it basically.  Would like to know how to do it

Houston's S89 roster is set! Before game 1 gets rolling tonight, I am thrilled to announce our captains for this upcoming season!

    Captain
    Kyle Toms @Ktoms22

Drafted 14th overall, Kyle Toms returns to the Bulls lineup for his second season in the VHLM. Toms struggled to find his legs throughout S88 but through development over the off-season, Toms is ready to be the face of our franchise.

    Assistant Captain
    Joe Block @jblock3

Joe Block enters his second season with the Bulls as the number one blue line threat. Block is determined to be a top defender in the league and with his activity and earning, Block will be our first assistant captain this season.

    Assistant Captain
    Devon Giguere @omniscius

After a slow first season in the VHLM, Houston was lucky enough to watch Devon Giguere excel in his earning throughout the off-season. Giguere enters S89 as one of the top goaltenders to watch and will be our second assistant captain this season; a name we will depend on every night.

Congratulations players! Let's have a great season 🔥

    1) I think it's a great move.  We have a great group of young players and he can help win some games this year and many more to come.

    2) I think we will be fighting all season for that last playoff spot and I feel like we can pull it off.  We will get better as the season rolls on.

    3) it seems pretty accurate as we will be a developing team that but I still think we can do better. We are sitting near there now.

    4) I would like to improve on least seasons production so 20 goals would be nice, have 5 so far so that seems a realistic target plus 50 assists.

    5) it's a temporary setback, we have a young team and we are learning to play with each other

6)Yes for sure as there is bread on two sides of the dog.  What's not a sandwich is an open faced sandwich.
