Effort: 2/2 - Good JC, nice lighting work. Look: 2.5/3 - Main thing is stock work/blending. Try to use different stocks to bring the whole sig in together, a more complete look. You've got good composition though, so just keep up the practice. Also, I recommend sticking to simple fonts for now, sans-serif like Arial, Helvetica etc. That's pretty much all I use for my sigs.
