@Bushitroll Wasn't me using my VHLM "authority". Was more or less me being a member, wanting to do it too and saying "hey, giver". It's a regular, seasonal thing - simply, no one stepped up to the plate. So I don't really see why @Will has any issue with it whatsoever...

I don't really read what people say up above - just the initial post and that I was more or less stating I was about to make the topic a couple days ago for the sign up, however, due to all the work that goes into it I chose not to. It wasn't really me telling him to do it anyway

The VHL entry draft has once again come and gone and like every year, there was some winners, some losers and likely some steals and busts. For some teams, they were quiet around the boards - others were making a little bit of noise. One of those teams being the North American conference's Seattle Bears. Prior to the draft, Seattle sent a goalie they picked up in the previous years draft to the Cologne Express for the 7th overall draft pick. Though nothing has been formally confirmed by Seattle manager BLAKE CAMPBELL, scouting personnel with the organization said it was simply a strategic move to progress the team further. During the draft, Seattle was also hoping to see Peter Quill fall down to the 7th-9th range, however, was taken 3rd overall by Davos. With a back up plan, the team knew exactly what to do. Xavier LaFlamme - LW @Laflamme LaFlamme was the first person included on the Bear's scouting list and for obvious reasons. LaFlamme has had closed relations with manager Blake Campbell since being hired by him in the Victory Hockey Leagues minor affiliation, the VHLM. Though his activity is strongly in questioned by some throughout the league, and his activity in the future could also be a gamble, Campbell believed LaFlamme was the perfect choice and that it wasn't as much of a gamble as others thought. LaFlamme is built to score and nothing else. Strong on the skates, stick and with a deadly shot, if he continues on stride and lives up to his promise, expect LaFlamme to be a huge, longtime Seattle Bear in the future. Player Rating: 8.0B Range: 7.5B to 8.5D Nicodemus Raven - D @Fowll He was second on the list and when Seattle looked at the draft list and seen that he was still available, I can imagine there was some happy people in Seattle management that day. Though scouting in Seattle started late that season, they had their eyes on the young defender for quite sometime. Currently, the Bears hold on their blue line russian defender, and one of the best up and coming defenseman, Aleksei Federov. By adding Raven, you add the potential of having one of the best dynamic duos in the league for blue line pairings. With Raven, you get the best of both worlds. A mixture of defense and offense and surely if things go right, him and Federov will be controlling the league for a very longtime in Seattle. Player Rating: 8.0B Range: 7.0B - 8.5B Key Perought - G @NUCK A surprise pick, but after trading Vernon Von Axelberry away for a draft pick, it makes sense that they replaced the tumbling down goaltender for a new one. Funny thing is, Key Perought and VVA bumped heads while VVA's agent was part of the management team in Vegas. Though the move has zero to do with any of that, you can't help but think it's a bit of a coincidence. Perought has been known to be wishy washy for training, but Campbell has come forward stating with long term history between the two and a high belief that Perought will become something strong for the Bears, he isn't too worried about his training. Player Rating: 7.0C Range: 7.5B to 8.0C Alexander Mchanahan - LW This last pick, Seattle lucked out on. Inactives remaining in the draft and Campbell's choice was to pick the best player available rather than skip and forfeit his draft pick. Seems as though it paid off. Not too long after the entry draft was over, Campbell got a message stating Mchanahan was back and ready to be a part of the Seattle organization. Now, obviously activity and training will be in question from now until he proves himself, but it was a gamble as so far has paid off for the Bears. If the trend continues, Mchanahan could very well become the biggest steal of the draft and one of the most important pieces to the Bears turnaround. Wouldnt let me add the last pic so fuck it.
