  1. When the S69 draft began, a lot of people speculated who would be going first overall, a lot of people wanted to know who would walk away with the "best draft class" and who would have "the worst" and one team came to mind when it was thought to be the "worst" and that is San Diego. In their defense, they had traded themselves completely out of the S69 draft to compete in S68, and while that worked to a degree, allowing them to make the playoffs, they did in a way hurt their long-term success by having no one to draft in the most recent draft. Despite all of this, the team walked away with a decent core, one they could build on, but they were missing one crucial piece, a goalie. And so like any competent GM would do...San Diego set out to find one, and it didn't take them all that long. Just before the season began, they went out and traded for a goalie who last season was on the team and this season will take over the helm as the concrete starter. When asked about this move, their GM said this: "Yeah I couldn't be happier with the decision, he's active in training, he's constantly making progress, how could you not want a guy like that between the pipes?" More to this story will come when their new goalie makes their debut, which should be next set of games.

  4. Yeah first gen bonus + all of the store first gen purchases will be much better than the carryover he would get
  5. I mean quite a fair bit. PT’s are generally still the same structure but they introduced new career PTs. Games are played the same just a lot of new teams (recently has expansions in both leagues). Otherwise there is just some minor changes around the league here and there I just came back not too long ago, about 7 or so seasons ago now. So I know the feeling lol. @Corco
  6. Hey @Corco im going to make this short and sweet we go way, way back. Lots of good times in the league, and I now run San Diego down in the minors. We’re a competitive team who is looking to make a huge cup push and we really need a good active C. I can offer you 2nd line minutes with the likelihood you move up to 1st line with consistent updates and PP/PK time too! Instantly you’ll get tons of minutes, an active locker room and more. If you want to come here, just quote this and accept’
  7. @DaNuge15welcome! I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins, and I'd love to offer you a position on our team! The draft just ended, so the off-season is slowly but surely coming to the end, so you've joined at a very fun time. Before you make a decision, I'd love to tell you a little bit more about the Marlins virtues, above and beyond what you see in our graphic. WE ARE OFFERING SECOND LINE MINUTES, PP, PK, THE WHOLE SHEBANG! We praise activity We indulge in conversation There is always someone available to help you We are inclusive and cherish all of our players You will always be heard, and always have opportunities We hope you share the same virtues we do, and if you do feel like we're the best choice, just "quote" this offer and accept it. Otherwise enjoy the league and good luck on your journey!
  8. accepting this on-forum. We're one of the many teams without a legitimate goalie, Attakallio while not LR present was part of our team last year, and we're happy to have an active goalie back with us.
  9. oh trust me, I knew lol. xD
  10. That is rude. I was making a joke d00d
  11. wonder how Blade likes being called a "he" by her GM eh?

  14. Hello @monkeywrench15 Awesome time to make a player, you now get to choose your destination which I find is actually a lot of fun, all of the power is in your hands. I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins We have a couple of centers, but one of them is inactive, so right away I can offer you second line minutes, including PP and PK time and that may even get to improve over time. We'd love to have you, I am an active GM, our team and LR is constantly active, we help with PT ideas, PT feedback, build help and so much more, needless to say you will be WELL supported here.
  15. The San Diego Marlins had a wicked draft but were left with some uncertainty throughout their venture during the off-season. With a solid top six, a solid top four and a non-existent goalie, the Marlins embarked on the season with an uphill battle, and fought it...better than expected. Despite not having a super high TPE player in net, the team ended up in the playoffs and put up a really hard-fought battle against the Aces before they were eventually taken out. Seeing as the team had found no success in the playoffs at all, not even winning a game their previous two seasons, this was a huge step in the right direction. Now, when it comes to the returnees of that team, we have as follows: Forwards TPA Total TPE Actions (S68) C - Cameron Eastwood 70 70 (S69) RW - Daldo 135 145 (S69) LW - Markus Nygren 135 137 (S67) LW - Nick Kirkpatrick 42 46 (S68) RW - Raleigh Ritchie 151 159 (S68) RW - Roadkill Steve 206 206 Defensemen (S69) D - King Kruul 72 81 (S68) D - Rebacco Black 38 39 (S69) D - Will Clarke 173 173 Goalies Playing Up As we can see once again, going into the draft and off-season period, the Marlins do not have a goalie, however they do have a fairly sweet top 6 that can hopefully get sweeter by adding some centers to the mix, and they are still left with some defenders, which is always nice for any team! Overall, they aren't in bad shape, a lot of other teams could be worse off but there is some decent pieces in this upcoming VHLM draft so we'll have to see how this pans out.

  21. It's been a bitch of a time in the VHL, and I'll be the first one to admit it. As a young thirteen year old, I joined the VHL unaware of what I was even doing or getting myself into. My cousin had referred me to the site and I am a huge hockey player and watcher, so even as young as I was, it intrigued me. My first player was a bit of a bust, rightfully so, I had no freaking clue what I was doing, it was like 17 seasons into the leagues existence so people knew a lot more than I did, and so I retired him early to try to figure shit out. Throughout the process somewhere along the failed path of terrible bust players and constant disappearances, I finally found my footing with my best player to date, Radislav Mjers. I was pretty proud of my accomplishments when it came to Mjers, he was a multi-season all-star, he had won two cups, a couple of individual awards, and was my highest TPE player, but this would be the peak for me, and the "demise" of my reputation so to speak. I was a jackass after that player, I made a lot of failed commitments to players and burned GM's respectively as I went AFK three times with three separate players and it was not my best look, in fact I was probably at my lowest point by then... But then things changed! I went away for what I'd consider to be my biggest "break" and it was a hard pill to swallow, my life had changed in many ways. At my lowest, what people didn't know is IRL I was spiraling out of control, I was battling myself as my personal demon, but thankfully, I overcame it all. I had a kid just before leaving here, another while I was gone, I got married, and just spent me time. I also ended up beginning to run my own operations from home, and straying away from the toxic 9-5 job I was at before, a lot of things we're looking up for me, and still are...and that's how we landed here. I would say this is my new peak, Denver Wolfe while not the stud in the VHL I was hoping for has been my most fun player up to date. I've updated consistently, I've been a GM now in the VHLM for a few seasons which has really been awesome finally coming back and being good at a job I knew I could do, but had just shrugged off many times in the past, and I've made everlasting memories with a lot of of awesome people. So yeah...this is the story of the very many year career of me... and my historical background into the VHL... Thanks for reading
