  1. love this guy! missin' you killing it in San Diego Tate!
  2. The San Diego Marlins knew what kind of daunting task was ahead of them the moment the off-season concluded. They had made strides to improve all areas of their team, including garnering a fierce top 6 forward core, adding also an outstanding top 4 defensive core and a guaranteed starter, however the start of the season has proved to be a hard one, but the team knew what was to come, as previously mentioned. However despite the losses, despite the opportunities slipping away in the early game, the whole team has remained optimistic, they are just happy to play. GM Zack Gagnon took to the podium releasing the following statement. "While the minor leagues are all about developing players and just enjoying your time in the minor leagues, I know like anyone else, these kids dream and aspire to win, and want to go all the way. Our franchise shares these same dreams and aspirations and these kids have our utmost dedication and promise that we're going to do everything we can to help them flourish, prepare themselves for the future but most importantly enjoy their time here in San Diego." When asked about the atmosphere in the locker room and the talks going on, he also commented: "Without giving our secrets away (haha), we're having a good time, everyone is very active, social and hard working. These guys are dedicated to performing and really almost having fun with one another inside the LR and on the ice. I couldn't ask for a better crop of players!" Time will tell if the San Diego squad can prove their dominance or if they will fail to being so far behind some of the other "super teams" but for now, they'll just enjoy having fun.
  3. Week of July 15th To claim 2 TPE, answer 6 of the 10 questions below to gain full TPE 1. We're a few sims in now, not the greatest result but from what the Marlins have done, what excites you the most about the results? 2. How do you feel about your personal performance thus far? 3. Is there anyone on the team you're excited about playing with? 4. What expectations do you have for us moving forward? 5. If we could add one position, which one is most important and why? 6. Are you happy with your playing time over the course of the early season? 7. If you had to give us a rival, who would it be and why? 8. Which team do you think wins it all this season? Bold predictions? 9. Do we make the playoffs or nah? lol 10. What is your best workout/pump-up song used to get you hyped?
  4. wont let me reclaim using same link, but using second doubles week.
  5. hello @Fire_In_Babylon Welcome to the league! Your friend @NumberJ5 recommended that we bring you onto the team. we can offer you max minutes at the C position, we have a lot of great rookies on our team that I think you'll mesh with very well plus you'll get to enjoy playing with your friend. If you want to come to San Diego, just quote this and say "I accept" and we'll take care of the rest!
  6. damn, 4 of the top 5 are defenders, that's nuts lol cool to see the big jumps too, me from 9th to 4th, jack from 16th to 8th and so on, it's almost like irl haha. So many question marks when drafting that's for sure.
  7. In unity we trust! I will do my best as captain having been voted in by my brothers! To victory Wolves!
  8. Sup @Bruins10 nice to see you back! Unfortunately my team is full but I see you have some great offers, surely more to come and hopefully you get to go back into the swing of things here in the VHL.
  9. hello @Tornado Rex and welcome to the VHL! I'm the GM of San Diego, unfortunately my waiver claims are full at the moment but you'll have a bunch of wonderful GM's offering on you soon, you have the option to take an offer right away, or to wait and see who all offers for you! Regardless, enjoy your time here and if you have any questions just shoot me a PM! Good luck on the journey!
  10. The San Diego Marlins were non-existent at the draft, in fact, the only thing they did was trade picks to move into a stronger S68 draft position, and this left the team very...very bare. A lot of people wrote them off this season, a lot of people had them basically down and out, but their GM was not satisfied with this answer. And while the team may not have a bunch of 200 TPE players on it...they did pick up a lot of solid new additions to the roster, and now we're going to show them off to the world. FORWARDS RW - Ryan Busser LW - Jason Connors LW - Diamond Duster C - Tomas Hasek A pretty impressive group if you ask me. Three out of the four of them have been around for a few days now, if not about a week, and have shown why they are just so damn good and only going to get better. Their TPE production is starting to flourish, Duster is brand new to the team so obviously we expect to give him some time, but with a great crop of forwards blooming around him, it's only a matter of time before he gets in on the action. DEFENDERS D - Alyksander Hunter D - Gert B Forbe D - Ryan Chism Another good crop of players picked up here. Chism is a returning player, there was really never a concern with picking him up but the surprises always come from the new rookies to the league, who have really begun impressing management staff in San Diego. With all three of these fine young players shaping up to be stars, there is no telling what their potential is and what they can do, we're just happy we get to watch them grow. GOALIES G - Bruce Grimaldi San Diego's most recent acquisition is a goalie, their biggest 'hole' to fix as of now, and it looks like for right now, they've filled that hole and hopefully found their goalie for the future. He's been super chatty in the LR, he's been very active and happy to be on the team, this is all good signs when it comes to a new player, and again we're very excited to see where things go
  11. 1. What did you do during this offseason? I watched back a lot of my old games of my rookie season and learned new ways to improve my game for the upcoming season. 2. How do you feel about last season's results? Vancouver always seemed to be written out of playoff talk or deep cup contention, so to make it to the finals despite the sweep, was a hell of an experience for me especially. 3. How do you feel about this next season's results? I think it'll be good for me. I've gained a lot of TPE in the off-season, I'm coming back even stronger, and I am only hoping for the best. 4. Who are you most excited to play with on our roster? Of the new faces/ of returning teammates. We have a lot of new faces like Glade who we acquired around trade deadline and Palo who I've known for some time, I'd say I'm just most excited to play with everyone as we have an excellent core of returning faces. 5. What are your goals for this coming season? To win most improved and to be the most improved, I want to change everything about my game from last season and make it way better. 6. What do you think about the GM's moves this offseason? Hella impressed, to make the moves he did, he bolstered our team even further and made us super deep to move in for another cup run.

  15. @McSlickster You've joined at a very interesting time and the draft has actually just concluded. I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins and we had 0 picks in this draft, meaning...we have a lot of room to fill and we'd like you to join us. We're going to be needing every person we possibly can, and we're offering max minutes to play on San Diego. We'll guarantee that if we can get enough people to join the team, we'll compete, in the meantime, you can pad your stats, showcase your talents and join what will hopefully be an active locker-room. Quote this and say "I accept" if you want to join San Diego!

I get a new goalie who I hope can be happy starting all our games and a defender who can fill in while we wait for more sign-ups to get here *5th S68 (SDM) and 6th 68 (SSK) both also go to Minnesota, will put through when added/fixed in portal.
