Welcome @Mythkos You've joined at a very interesting time and the draft has actually just concluded. I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins and we had 0 picks in this draft, meaning...we have a lot of room to fill and we'd like you to join us. We're going to be needing every person we possibly can, and we're offering max minutes to play on San Diego. We'll guarantee that if we can get enough people to join the team, we'll compete, in the meantime you can pad your stats, showcase your talents and join what will hopefully be an active locker-room. Quote this and say "I accept" if you want to join San Diego!

@Banackock Just to be aware, we'll fix this somehow, but those picks should be S68, Peace told me he couldn't find his for S68 but needed to send something over to get the deal done. Cheers.

SD receives LV's 5th round pick in S68 I accept. Usual transaction for me, prefer S68 picks, thats when I am going all-in.

looks that way haha

5th S67 (Mississauga) also comes to San Diego. I accept. Literally my last 2 players off my team not going into the upcoming draft, McZehrl was never a long-term guy, flipping him for a quik pick and Clarkson fetched me a 2nd, I'm okay with this.

The San Diego Marlins had a great first year, despite the late-season decline, they had a lot of fun with the season and in their inaugural season, proved if they want to compete with the best, they certainly can. And while the season ended very short in the playoffs with an unfortunate sweep to a spectacular Halifax squad. Regardless, the players, the management staff and the fans alike, were happy to be a part of the experience. However with that season behind them, a bold statement came out from the GM of the Marlins earlier today, where he announced it would be very unlikely if they attended the draft. And he gave us a reason as to why: "Our team went all in for S66, we did our best to manage our assets for that season to allow us to do so, unfortunately in doing so, S67 will take a backseat to our long-term plans and our long-term goals. We were happy to be a part of season 66, it was a great ride but with a lot of our amazing players either leaving to find themselves in the VHL or going into the upcoming VHLM draft, we do not have a single pick and we do not plan on acquiring any picks for this upcoming draft, thus we're likely not to be there, and if we are forced to, we certainly will not be on the phones." What is expected, is the Marlins to have to pick and weave through potential waiver signings after the draft, the undrafted and the newbies who sign up beyond the draft, but they are looking forward to the future.

5th S67 (SDM) and 5th 68 (MIN) are also involved in this, going to the respective other team for obvious reasons here, they just aren't in the portal. I accept this, S68 we're stocking up picks, now have 3 4ths, 3 5ths and a bunch of other picks, should be a fun draft. GG Rayz enjoy this draft.

I feel you, I'm French-Canadian and while I speak a lot of English, I still get my words mixed up from time to time haha. Where are you from? is this profile originated from you in terms of Country, etc? -

Denver Wolfe (15gp, 2g, 3a) isn't exactly having the "playoff of his career" but is absolutely loving his time just being a part of the experience. Wolfe was drafted with an expectation, the Wolves want to win, and they want to win now. At first, the statement wasn't really coming to fruition as the Wolves were all over the place, by the mid-way point of the season however, his eyes suddenly began to open fully, and the teams sights on the playoffs were becoming much more of a reality than a dream. Come seasons end, Wolfe and the Wolves were headed to the playoffs and the fans, team and players alike could not have been any happier. People pegged them as a first round exit after their prior season struggles, however it was quite clear the Wolves were here to stay. They got through the first few rounds with ease, and so now the final chapter was attempting to come to a close. Would the Vancouver Wolves be able to seal the deal and win their first cup in franchise history? Well, so far, the Titans are making that pretty damn hard. Two games in the Wolves have unfortunately lost some close games and while everything seemed to be going in the right direction for the Wolves, this final chapter could be a fairytale ending gone bad. We'll have to see if the team can rally together to get things going, but regardless it's been a fun ride.

all my tasks were done prior to this announcement, none really pertaining to the theme since I didn't know there was one. Can I just claim anyways? Don't really feel like re-doing a whole weeks worth of stuff...

Did I scare you? Good. I'm not here to announce I am leaving, don't worry. Rather, closing a chapter in my GM career I always hate to do, saying goodbye to those leaving for various reasons, whether it be to their respective VHL teams or going into the draft next season. In San Diego, we made it a mission to keep our players as happy as we could from start to finish of their careers with us, and the following players we're sadly losing after the playoffs: Lincoln Tate Edgar Tannahill* Phil Marleau Greg Eagles Pierre Persson Rhys Chism Ryszard Franciszek Andrej Petrovic Charles Drumm Dalton Wilcox Sean McGee When you look at this list, you think...wow. San Diego is going to be a whole different team next season, and sadly we are. I do have questions if Edgar (Greggreg) will be going up as he's not been all that active sadly and hasn't updated in ages, which could be a good thing for us, but maybe also a bad thing? If he comes back, he's 100% gone. As for the others, in one way or another, whether being called up or going into the draft, we're losing a lot of the guys that were able to make history for us. They've had the absolute pleasure of making history here, and I've had the pleasure of GMing and coaching every single one. They've been nothing but a pleasure to spend time with through this season, and I'm genuinely going to miss having you all on our team. One team, one dream, always a Marlin

Highlighting Some Marlins History Makers
InstantRockstar replied to InstantRockstar's topic in VHL.com Articles
thanks for the kind words Tate! You have been an absolute machine, all the credit goes to you man. -
While everyone on the Marlins technically is setting records as the first ever team for this franchise, there are a few players that stick out among the rest, and we're here to break it down for you to see what the team is looking like with 12-ish games left in the season. First Captain: Phil Marleau Phil was voted in by his teammates by a near unanimous decision, even with Greg giving him the nod. Most Points: Lincoln Tate This is honesty so impressive to me, while his point total isn't enormous, he switched positions and has been the best waiver acquisition I believe in the league. Most Goals: Edgar Tannahill While Chism is ahead of Tannahill, Chism was a late-season acquisition and will also technically hold this title, but Tannahill has been a Marlin since day one, and thus he'd get the "official" nod. Most Assists: Lincoln Tate I told you, best waiver acquisition and he shows why. Tate is leading the team in assists and points and has been first star many times, amazing player right here! There are many more awards that will be given out, things may even change with the remaining games left but regardless, it's been a fun ride. I'm surely having fun as GM of the team and it seems like all the players on the Marlins are having fun too. Can't wait to see what happens with the following seasons under my reign.

San Diego Marlins Press Conference
InstantRockstar replied to InstantRockstar's topic in Team Press Conferences
Week of 06/10: 1. With the Marlins slipping to 6th and around 12 games left, what do you think happens to us moving forward? 2. If you could be GM for a day, what would you do to help and why? 3. With a team award show at the end of the season, who do you think gets the most awards? 4. Making history, do you think the Marlins succeeded or failed in their first season? 5. With barely any draft picks, do you think the Marlins made the right choice going all-in this season? 6. How do you feel three quarters of the way in on your personal performance? 7. What song best describes the season the Marlins have had? 8. What workout routine do you follow? Favorite workout? Least favorite? 9. If you're returning to the team next year, do you feel the team can bounceback after having no picks? 10. If you're not returning, where do you hope your next destination is?
