  1. Daniel Weaver is having a decent season so far despite being his first time playing with the adults since he didn't play a single game in the VHLE compared to the others. Actually, he's the only one with Phil Strasmore not to have played a single game in the pro until this season.

He is 7th in the rookie points race which is pretty good for his first time against grown men. He is also the best-producing player in his draft class who's in the VHL right now with 38 points in 62 games for the New York Americans.

He also has 68 hits and 31 shots blocked, he is the 5th best forward at blocking shots already ! (If we exclude HSK whole team blocking shots)

The one thing that is holding him back is playing on the second line, who's allowing too many goals and I feel like it cost us the season completely.

Daniel Weaver feels like he could have had an even better season if he played with more talented linemates around him, especially since he's the second-best winger on the team in every stat besides +/-.

Anyways, the New York Americans are fighting back, but they are still in a tough position. D.C Dragons and Los ANgles Stars are losing a couple of games while the Americans are on a 3 game winning streak. They are just 5 points for 4th place, but it's really tight and it can go either way. NY has a very tough schedule, but after beating the Seattle Bears. NY hopes are looking a bit bright, but will it crash down again...

  2. 1). What is your favorite thing you can ONLY DO IN THE SEASON FALL?

Celebrate Halloween since it's only in the Fall

2). Would you drive cross-country to pick up a package you didn't know the contents of for $1,000?

For 1 000$ only? Never, more then half of that is gone just from the gaz.

3). What will be Taylor Mourning's scoop next player name?

    Tyler Mourning lmao

4). Is MDM a stat whore?

He for sure is and we like it

    5). Cholula or Tabasco sauce?

    Tabasco sauce because better

6). Where am I going this weekend?

Going to watch a mobie at the cinema I guess

  3. New York had a two-year window with this team, but with a horrible season despite having a couple of talented guys on the roster, New York must finally go into a complete rebuild instead. Each season, they try to be competitive by signing a couple of good free agents, but they never go anywhere with them and they end up leaving the following season.

The locker room is becoming a desert and morals are very low right now and even though nobody has spoken out loud about it, it feels like most people are hoping to get out of this team.

New York does not have any picks for the upcoming draft, so this is the perfect chance to stack some right now before they lose their players for nothing.

Augustus Kennedy is a very young goalie who's one of the best goalies in the league already, but it's really hard to trade goalies in this despite him being a really good asset for picks. I think he should stay on the team tho.

Sven Eightnine is in the last season of his contract and it's 100% guaranteed that he is leaving NY so trading him for some kinda pick would be the move right now.

Poop Peepants still have a season left of his contract and he has 1120 TPA. He is having a horrible season for NY, but he would be huge on another team possibly. Another asset for a decent pick right now.

Trading Henri le Massif and Taylor Mourning would be good assets to get picks as well. They want to win now and it's not happening with this team.

Yun Chiang will most likely decline his player option, so another asset to trade with.

Daniel Weaver has shown not wanting to play for NY even before the draft, yet they still drafted him. He is already shown to places that he already wants to be traded and will not put in the work for NY in the next 2 seasons. He was a top 5 pick so he could be the biggest asset on the team, getting a top 5 pick for this team in the upcoming draft.

With NY only having a 3rd round pick, this is the time to trade for assets or the future of this team will really be in jeopardy...

I think the main problem is that, as things have been most season, their strategy of the second line is heavily dependant on the shooting of Maximus Decimus Meridius, who leads their team by some distance in shots, but they only have 71 scoring while Yun Chiang, who sits at 85 scoring is playing a bit part (lowest amount of shots of the six forwards) on an already strong first line, so I think if Chiang was moved down to the second line, that could potentially unlock Chiang and boost the scoring output on the second line.

Bro been trying for WEEKS to tell him to change lines and make Yun Chiang not suck as much as he do, but all he does is switch strategies a bit (Which lowkey made us lose even more)

They so lucky rookies are forced to sign 3 seasons smh. 2 more seasons to go

  5.

1). Tis the beginning of halloween season - what was the last costume you wore?

I never did Halloween so I never did a disguise.

2). Do you think New York will buy or sell this trade deadline?

I hope we sell. I want to get either Yaroslav Bogatyrev or The Frenchman on this team badly.

3). Should there be a cap on how many players come from a specific country in the VHL?

Nah, there’s shouldn’t to be honest. Even if there’s a lot of players in one country. Not all of them can play for there world team so they’ll choose another country next time.

4). Why don't we wait for the new season's portal to come out before doing a VHFL draft?

To be honest we should do that, see who has a hit start, pick him then he just chokes.

5). If water wasn't blue, which color would you want it to be?

    Green would of been cool.

6). Has @JardyB10 mentioned you in any ofhis nodesodes this season?  WHY NOT

no I don’t know why smh

  6. New York Americans Curse Continues...

We all know that the New York Americans are a cursed team. It does not matter what you do, the curse will make this team lose over and over and over again. The last time they won the Victory Cup was in season 60 and the last time they won Continental Cup was in season 52, we are in season 85! I'm saying this yet again, this team needs a need location, a new identity, to start fresh. It's not a desirable place to play anymore and even if you had the idea to stat pad on this team, it wouldn't work!

Henri le Massif went from 81 points and 352 hits to only 27 points and 86 hits in 35 games.

Taylor Mourning, the best player on our team, once had 129 points in the VHL. He only has 27 points in 35 games.

Poopy Peepants went from being a ppg player to 23 points in 35 games.

Those are 3 caliber star players, playing worse than rookies now.

The only players to be good in recent Americans history are goalies, rookies who eventually leave the team each time, and once every 5 seasons a good defenseman.

In 20 games, the Americans were fourth in a very competitive conference. A week later, they are the second worst team in the conference and are 14 points from 4th place, and we are still sliding down!

It's only 1/3 of the season so hopefully, they can things around, but as you know. The curse is real...

  7. 1). Today New York opens the newspaper to find out they are on a 4-game winning streak.  Is this the turn the team was looking for?

Yes and hopefully we can keep it up, but we ended up losing a bunch. Hopefully we can go on a streak once we change the lines a bit.

2). Who is the team's LEAST likely player to recreate as a goalie?

ThePerfectNut. I'm never going to recreate as a goalie, even if I was told that I got a 95% to make the HOF.

    3). Will @nurx get to 50 points?

I'm hoping for him, he's best season was at 35 points as a rookie. He is in his 4th season and it's not looking any better. Might be one of the most dissapointing carreer for a user that actually claims a lot of TPE.

4). If you posted in another team's press conference, shame on you, but who would it NOT be?

    For sure not ThePerfectNut lol

5). Do you ever read SHT (shots) as shits? @JardyB10

No, never. Now I might because of this.

    6). Truly or Whiteclaw?

I like Whiteclaw tp be honest

  8. Graduating to the VHL

It's great to skip the VHLE and play in the VHL instead. Even though I could of possibly win rookie of the year next season and completely dominate the VHLE. I found it very valuable to start playing against the very best early and get used to the VHL instead of the VHLE. Daniel Weaver will be bad defensively, but he will become better at it over the seasons. Daniel Weaver scoring prowess  will still be there and it won't really stop him from producing a good amount of points in his rookie season with the new york Americans

    Expectations

Daniel Weaver is expecting to produce points on the board. He's focused on scoring goals and do whatever it takes to produce points. He's currently the best rookie in his season 85 draft that's playing in the VHL for points right now, and he's in 10th place in the entire league in the rookie points ladder. That's an amazing feat for someone who was fell 4th overall in the draft and is competing against people who were in the VHLE for one, two and even 3 seasons in the VHLE, which Daniel Weaver totally SKIPPED. He has no prior experience in the pros, but he's doing very good so far against grown men for the first time and he still has the chance to be a top 5 for rookies if he was given a bit more ice time, but Daniel Weaver has been the second best winger on the team so far and he might force the management to let him play first line over Yun Chang for a couple of games in the near future.

    Reservations

Management isn't really willing to change lines despite being the second worst team in the conference. The wild card spot is slipping bit by bit and it doesn't seem there's gonna be any changes soon. We are one of the worst offensive teams in the league and fingers are pointing at Daniel Weaver scoring abilities despite being the second best winger on the team as a rookie, only behind Taylor Mourning who's way behind a PPG despite being an established player. Weaver is already worried about his future with the Americans, they definitely have the talent, but they aren't going anywhere with it. Hopefully Weaver can break that curse, or will he also be a victim of it?

  9. Review: This media spot was very refreshing to read and I love your ideas so far. You gave an explanation as to why you want some of the things to be changed as well. The article was well written and it wasn't hard to read. More bolding would have been welcomed tho. I like that you can claim the bonus words if you do a 700-900 media spot. Idk why we just can`t combine those two if you went way past the 500 minimum and it should be implmented

Review: Good overall article to read as it is always interesting to see how players drafted stack -up against each other after being drafted. That being said it really needs some color, maybe some bold to make the article stand-out a bit more overall. Also player position, team as most might not have a clue what league they are playing for, who drafted them or the position that they play. Treat us like we are dumb when writing an article. I would also suggest adding pictures for the article but most don`t bother so I wouldn`t either. Overall: 7/10

P.S. Vancouver struggles are not down to Eagle alone as we have three rookies on the roster making up 50% of our forwards line-up but as they grow so should the prospect of making the playoffs. We knew this would be a bit of a risk compared to other teams but compared to where we started the off season to where we are now. It is a huge improvement with these three players being a big part of our future success. With the limited ice time and skipping the VHLE. Eagles is holding his own.

He didn’t skip VHLE tho and every second line in the league has the same amount of ice time

  11. The 4th overall pick in the season 85 draft class, Daniel Weaver, the start has been relatively poor so far. He only has 11 points in 22 games which makes him far away from the race for rookie of the year.

Withing his 11 points, he has 4 goals and 7 assists. One of those goals was a power play goal, and the other was a game-winner.

The really bad thing about his game so far is his defense. He is a -10 so far and the New York Americans have been losing a lot of games because of the second line. Other teams are exploiting our weak defense from our second line and we end up losing all these close games. If we had the better defense, I'm pretty sure we would have been at least top 4 right now because of the number of games we lost within one goal because of our second line.

Daniel Weaver has changed his entire routine and training. He's less focused on scoring goals and is now more focused on his defense, stick handling, poke checking, deking, and his speed.

It's been doing good so far since he had 2 points in his last game and we hope it goes up from here now.

At least in other good news, he is the most productive on offense so far in his draft class in terms of being in the VHL right now and hopefully he can stay on top like with his earnings so far.
