  1. Graduation Day The big day if finally here for Lester Green and many other Victory Hockey League rookies. That’s correct the first day of the VHL season is expected to begin today, meaning many VHLMers are experiencing their hockey graduation day. Green was expecting much in terms of his VHL future heading into the VHL draft, but when the Los Angeles Stars took a flyer on the defensive defenseman Thirteenth Overall in the Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry Draft. Now Green is feeling the excitement and nervousness of his first VHL game around the corner. When Green was approached by reporters after the Stars afternoon skate, the soft spoken American defenseman became an open book. “I’m excited to first off be drafted to a club looking to really start establishing itself in the VHL. I didn’t make it in time to the VHL draft due to prior commitments, but once I was able to look at my phone about ten minutes, I noticed my agent had already sent my first VHL contact offer. Now the real work starts, and the expectations and accountability of my game start at home with myself. I know I wasn’t brought in to score fifty plus points each season, so my expectations need to match that. I need to play solid in my end of the ice, making sure Doug has a clear view of incoming shots. I am also going to need to be more aware of the penalties I am taking this year. While I want to be known as a physical guy on the ice, I need to walk the fine like and cut down some of the unnecessary penalties I took last season with San Diego.” When Green was pressed about any reservations he has outside of walking the fine line on the physical side of things on the ice, Green followed up by saying; “I don’t want to say I am afraid of making mistakes, as sometimes that’s is the greatest learning tool, but on the bigger stage each error you make is going to be magnified. I can honestly say I have some reservations about making mistakes that alter the outcome of the games.” With the Stars being an expansion franchise that only has one year of VHL games under its belt, Green and the rest of the Stars rookies will be leaned upon even greater in their rookie seasons, as the club doesn’t have the veteran presence many of the more established clubs do at this point. Hopefully Greens rookie experience this season will meet all his expectations and keep his reservations at bay. Green during his rookie training camp 435 Words

  3. Funny enough, unlike one of those members you tagged, I actually had a player play in S1.

  8. La La Land With the Victory Hockey Leagues Seventy-Third off-season in full swing, the usual events have come an gone, including the VHL Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry Draft. The Los Angeles Stars took place in their second VHL draft, after taking Jeffrey Pines in the First Round Eighth Overall last year. After finishing their inaugural season a twenty-nine win regular season, the Stars received the Fifth Overall draft choice during the VHL Draft Lottery, and when the time came the Stars took the best goalie and one of the oldest VHL draftees ever, Doug Dimmadome. Dimmadome played in seventy-two games with the San Diego Marlins of the VHLM after the franchise selected the fifty-year-old Honduras native with the fourteenth pick in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft. In those seventy-two regular season games with the Marlins last year, Dimmadome managed to put up a 51-19-2 record. Dimmadome and the Marlins also played in eleven playoffs games where Dimmdome put up a 6-4-1 record, to go along with a .904 save percentage and 2.45 goals against average. Although Dimmadome was either top four or five in most goalie categories over the course of the regular season with the Marlins, not a lot of pre-draft talk was directed towards Dimmadome, so his selection at Fifth Overall may have come as a surprise to many around the league. Now as he enters his rookie season ad the main guy between the pipes for the Stars, Dimmadome will look to prove why the team used the Fifth Overall pick to grab him.
  9. 1. Alright, it's the off-season... how would you summarize the teams inaugural season? I wasn't paying much attention to the Stars prior to getting drafted to the franchise, so I cannot speak on any expectations that might have been hit or missed last year. As an expansion team if you can find one or two guys to build around you are in a good place. Pines and Gumballs took big steps last year, so I would say last season was a win for development. 2. Which way do you think we should go (or should have gone) with the 5th overall pick? Picking up an elite talent at goaltender is a great selection for a young team. There was a lot of elite talent available, but an almost 300 TPE goalie doesn't come along every draft. 3. It looks like Gunnar might have gotten beat out at the last second for the Slobo, how do you feel about that? It appears he won from his player page. I mean great for a young team to have such an impactful player in year one, also helped out his trade value for the off-season. 4. What are you working on improving this off-season? As a guy that prides myself in my defensive play, I will continue to work on that aspect of my game as i enter my rookie season. 5. Any free agents you'd be excited about picking up? Not at this point of our progress as a roster. Using the money for bonus when we have a young roster is the better way to go. 6. Were you surprised that the Bears won the cup... again? Again from not really focusing on the VHL as a VHLMer, I was surprised a bit, but with the leadership off and on the ice that roster possessed, it didn't surprise me in the end.

  12. 1. We gave it a hell of a run but our season has ended. How do you feel about our season as a whole? I feel we had a great season with a great group of guys. Obviously didn't get the result we wished for in the end, but to go as far as we did as the fifth seed, we should be proud. 2. Who is your pick for our playoff MVP? Han Jae Kuk. Played lights out offensively and 18 hits, and 15 shots blocked is not a bad eleven game stretch at anytime of the season, let alone the playoffs. 3. What are your aspirations for next season? I hope to get drafted sometime before the end of the third round and play all seventy-two games next season. Not huge aspirations I know, but something obtainable. 4.Now for some lighter stuff; Cats or Dogs? Defend your answer. Dogs. More sociable and dependable 5. Now that Vegas got a new shiny logo, what changes would you like to see for the Marlins’ crest in the future? I don't see any future changes upcoming to the logo I would wish for off the top of my head. Maybe less baby shit yellow? I’m gonna start playing D&D with some friends soon and I’m actually kind of excited about it. So in the spirit of that the last question is related to D&D. If you play or have played answer 6A, if you haven’t or won’t answer 6B. 6B. If you don’t play D&D, do you have a reason why? My father owned a comic book store growing up. I never got into that stuff, (comics, magic, D&D) just from my experiences with those people didn't shine a positive light on the game.
  13. Draft Day On Sunday the Victory Hockey League alongside the Victory Hockey League Minor Leagues finished Season Seventy-Three after the Seattle Bears and Minnesota Strom, respectfully finished off their opponents in the VHL and VHLM finals. With the season coming to a close, the off-season schedule was announced by the league VHL Commissioner team, and the most anticipated off-season event, the VHL Entry draft is taking place on September 10th, 2020. Today we will look at some of the names near the top end of the draft board, and see if we can try our hand at predicting the draft outcome. (LW) Luke Thornton – 330 TPE Thornton comes in as the best prospect and left winger in the Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry Draft currently, not very far ahead of fellow left winger Aloe Dear. Thornton has been a consistent participate in the Miami Marauders practices this season, no different than the little time he had with Las Vegas last season after joining the league at the deadline. While Thornton hasn’t put up the eye popping offensive numbers many of the others top draftees did in the VHLM this past season, Thornton is a great two-way forward that focuses on a pass first mentality in the offensive zone. During his first full and last season in the VHLM with Miami in Season Seventy-Three, Thornton put up twenty goals and forty-two assists in seventy-two games. Thornton also put up ninety-eight hits and fourteen shots blocked as he began to build his two-way game. With no impact left wingers on the Warsaw Predators or Chicago Phoenixes roster, it’s still a guessing game if Thornton will go in the top spot. (LW) Aloe Dear – 324 TPE The second best prospect in the Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry draft, Dear is coming off an impressive ninety-five-point season in Season Seventy-Three with the Houston Bulls. After being drafted Third Overall in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft, Dear showed her capability as a pure offensive powerhouse, putting up forty-six goals and forty-nine assists in seventy-two games for the Bulls in the most recent VHLM regular season. After helping the Bulls finish in second place in the VHLM standings, Dear and the Bulls entered the post-season with their heads held high and were looking to do some damage, as they attempted to win the franchises second Founders Cup. Unfortunately for the Bulls and Dear the playoffs did not end with Houston lifting the Founders Cup, but Dear did manage to put up four goals and five assists in the Bulls ten playoff games. Now Dear will enter the VHL off-season as the number two prospect in the upcoming VHL Entry draft, only time will tell if Dear will be pulling on a Warsaw jersey or Chicago jersey on Thursday. (C) –Christian Mingle –299 TPE Mingle was a late entry into the Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry Draft Eligible prospects, only first coming to the league the week ending July 26th, 2020. Mingle has not let that slow his progress down as he currently sits tied for the third best prospect in the draft. Mingle was claimed on waivers by the Houston Bulls shortly after the VHLM Dispersal Draft, but before the beginning of the season, so Mingle was able to dress for all Seventy-Two Bulls games last season. Mingle played as advertised this past VHLM season with the Bulls, as the thirty-five-year-old center put up forty-seven goals and thirty-five assists in those seventy-two regular season games. With Mingle playing an a very talented Bulls roster, his eight-two points only put him seventh on the team in scoring, so one will wonder what his total might have looked like if he wasn’t somewhat buried on the Bulls roster. With almost 300 practice roster hours to his name, it wouldn’t be a long shot to hear his name called by the Predators First Overall either. (C) – Venus Thightrap – 299 TPE Thightrap is another prospect that is coming off a monster season in Season Seventy-Three with the Houston Bulls. After being drafted Thirteenth Overall by the Bulls in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft, Thightrap went to work, ensuring VHL GMs were made aware of the talent she possessed. After a disappointing start to her VHLM career with Las Vegas last season, that saw Thightrap only put up one points in twenty-two games, Thightrap believed she didn’t bring her best effort each night and was not helping her draft stock. VHL General Mangers sure took notice of Thightrap, as she put up eye popping numbers with fifty-two goals and seventy-three assists, good enough for a tie for the second most points in the VHLM in Season Seventy-Three. Thightrap currently sits tied as the third best prospect leading up the draft on Thursday, another player that might just sneak up on people and hear her name called First Overall. (RW) – Onde Sandstrom – 289 TPE Sandstorm is coming off his first full season with the Las Vegas Aces after being brought back to the franchise with the Eighth Overall pick in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft. Sandstorm impressed management so much in his twenty-two game stint with the club after being picked up on waivers in Season Seventy-Two, they just couldn’t let him sneak past them when they walked up to the podium to announce their First Pick in that draft. Sandstorm has a balanced season with the Aces, putting up thirty-six goals and thirty-one assists, while also putting up 115 hits on the season. This first generation VHL player is on a very good path already with 289 practice hours to this points, this number will also ensure the team that drafts Sandstorm will see him in their colors next season. Depending on how the four prospects fall above him and the needs of franchises that sit at the 5-10 position, right now Sandstorm is likely a mid-round draft choice. (D) - Markus Schauer – 271 TPE We have finally found it; we have our first defenseman on the draft board in Markus Schauer. Schauer and other fellow top defensive prospect in the draft Emi Rune have been going back and forth as the top defenseman available in the draft all season long, and now Schauer has taken a slight lead in practice hours are the draft day draws nearer. Schauer played for the Bulls last season in the VHLM, and he was another player that benefited from the offensive powerhouse they had. While he wasn’t the leading scorer on the team for defenseman, Schauer still had a great season putting up twenty-four goals and eight-five assists. After being drafted Twenty-Fifth Overall in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft, VHL GMs will not let this defenseman slip in the VHL Entry draft. (D) - Emi Rune – 267 TPE After not seeing a defenseman in the first five spots for top prospects heading into the Season Seventy-Four VHL Entry Draft, we now have back-to-back defenseman on the list. Emi Rune takes her spot very closely behind Schauer, in fact so close we may see these two switch spots in the rankings again before the draft takes place on Thursday. After picking Rune up on waivers during the franchise Founders Cup winning season in Season Seventy-Two, the Wild made sure to get the exciting defenseman back, selecting Run with the Twenty-Fourth Overall pick in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft. Although the Wild didn’t experience the same success in Season Seventy-Three as they did in Season Seventy-Two, Rune made her presence known in Saskatoon, as well as around the entire league. Rune put up ten goals and sixty-four assists, alongside 116 shots blocked in seventy-two games for the Wild. The only question now heading into the draft, is out of Schauer and Rune, who impressed the scouts more leading up to the draft. (C) - Julian Nousiainen – 260 TPE Another top VHL prospect that joined the league near the deadline last season, Nousiainen is another VHLM prospect that enjoyed an amazing offensive season as part of the Season Seventy-Three Houston Bulls roster. Nousiainen wasn’t a hot commodity leading up tote Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal draft after a pointless twenty-two game trail run with the Las Vegas Aces in Season Seventy-Two, a performance that lead to Nousiainen slipping to Twenty-Second Overall in the VHLM Dispersal Draft. The Bulls couldn’t have been happier now in hindsight that Nousiainen “fell” to them at that spot in the draft, as Nousiainen rewarded the club with a thirty-eight goal and seventy-one-point performance in the regular season. Nousiainen also did everything in his power to help propel the Bulls to their second Founds Cup win, with eleven points in ten games in the playoffs, but unfortunately for Nousiainen and the Bulls, it wasn’t enough the move past the eventual Founders Cup champion Minnesota Storm. (LW) – John LeClair II – 257 TPE Coming from very impressive hockey lineage, John LeClair II is ready to throw his body around in the VHL. LeClair was drafted by the San Diego Marlins in the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft, Ninth Overall, and quickly got to work ensuring opposing players were aware of his presence on the ice. LeClair entered the VHLM as a power forward, and he lived up to that billing in his first full VHLM season. LeClair put up 355 hits in the Marlins seventy-two regular season games, good enough for the second most hits thrown in the VHLM in Season Seventy-Three. The most surprising stat to go along with the 355 hits, is how clean LeClair plays despite all those hits, only amassing 119 penalty minutes on the season. LeClair also chipped in offensively as well this past season, putting up eighteen goals and sixteen assists to go along with all those hits. As LeClair waits to see which VHL team will select him in the Season one other thing LeClair has going for him is the recent success of other prospects his agent has brought to the VHL. Time will only tell if LeClair can be the next big things from the flyersfan agency. (RW) – Lexi Glass – 255 TPE Glass who hails from the country of Estonia, is looking to make a splash on the international stage for himself and his country. Glass was another member of the crop or prospects that joined the VHLM after the trade deadline last season, as Glass joined Mississauga for the Hounds remaining eighteen regular season games in Season Seventy-Two. After Mississauga got bounced in the Season Seventy-Two playoffs by the Philadelphia Reapers Glass focused his attention on bumping up his draft stock prior to the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Dispersal Draft. Glass impressed the scouts for the Ottawa Lynx with his hard work and determination and the Lynx ended up selecting Glass with the Eighteenth Overall pick in the draft. During the course of the season with Ottawa, Glass kept showing up to practice, putting in the necessary work required, but unfortunately for Glass that work didn’t quite translate on the scoresheet. Glass did still manage to put up a respectful twenty-four goals and nineteen assist in the seventy-two games he played with Ottawa in the regular season. Glass is ready to put his VHLM career behind him, as his focus is now towards the VHL draft and improving on every aspect of his game leading up to the draft night. With a few more known names ahead of Glass in the prospect pool, Glass should be able to slip in the draft slightly to a possibly more favorable team. After reviewing the above prospects, we believe those ten we have named will be the first ten players to hear their names being called out by VHL General Managers. With the league expanding to sixteen teams prior to last season draft, there are many rosters that are in dire need of a superstar player. With twenty-seven prospects currently at 200 practice hours or higher, this might be just the draft that the expansion clubs and other franchises with bare cupboards can fill those spots with elite talent anywhere in the first round. This is an exciting time for the VHL and its’ fans. 2,017 Words. For Weeks of (Sept 7-13; Sept 14-20; Sept 21-27; Sept 28-Oct 4) Week 2 claimed September 14th Week 3 Claimed Sept 21st
  14. sure
  15. Congratulations Minnesota
  16. 1. With Ottawa down, we’ll either get Miami or Houston in the second round (if Vegas can complete a comeback versus Minnesota). What’s the key to not only hanging in with Miami, but beating them in a series? Were now two games in against Miami, going 1-1 which is great on their home ice. The game we were able to beat them, we just were able to pick good spots to take shots from and got a little lucky as well. Going to need more hard work and luck moving forward. 2. Personally, I think we have the grit to beat Houston, what would you say the key would be to beating Houston? Well as this is not going to happen, I guess hypothetically if we did play them, same thing as Miami, compete every night and take high quality shots. 3. What were some of the words exchanged in the handshake line between yourself and a member of the Lynx that you could share with the group? I never heard anything other than good luck from those guys, obviously they likely were pretty defeated being the better team heading into the series, but nothing but respectful guys over there. 4.Looking ahead to the offseason for a moment, what is one thing you’d like to do this offseason in the VHL that would be engaging with the community? I won't be engaging with the VHL community this off-season. I will be training hard for the upcoming draft. I won't even be reaching back out to GMs in the off-season. Radio silence for this guy. 5. Who among your San Diego teammates are you most interested in following as they make their transition to the VHL next season? Really anyone in the Season Seventy-Four draft i'll be kind of watching somewhat. Likely going to be looking at the career of Lucifer Olivier Leveque, just because we are defenseman and we know each other through our agents. 6. What are your favorite hockey-based shows/films? If you haven’t seen a single hockey show/film, what are you doing with your life instead you heathen? Inside the bubble is a new great series. I enjoyed the behind the winter classic episodes, so this follows the same lines.
  17. Week 3/3
  18. Made up for being in the box for the game three winner. Good win
  19. Shit, Game Winner was my fault
  20. VHLM Playoff Picture With only a few days remaining in the VHLMs Seventy-Third Regular Season, the playoff picture is slowly starting to settle itself. Today we’ll take a quick look at some of the possible match-up for the Season Seventy-Three VHLM Playoffs. (1) vs (8) – Miami/Houston/Minnesota vs Philadelphia: Miami is currently holding down the First Overall spot in the VHLM by only three points, and the Houston Bulls have one game in hand on the Marauders. Minnesota also has a chance to finish in a tie for First Place as well this season. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, no matter who faces off against the Reapers this off-season, it is likely going to be a fairly easy task for Miami, Houston or Minnesota. Predication Miami/Houston/Minnesota in a sweep. (2) vs (7) – Miami/Houston/Minnesota vs Saskatoon: Again deepening on the outcome of the remaining games for the Marauders, Bulls and Storm one of them will slide into the number two spot to take on the Saskatoon Wild. So far in the Season Seventy-Three regular season, the Wild are a combined 3-12-1 against the three clubs they may face in the Quarter-Finals, something that doesn’t bode well for the Wild heading into those possible match-ups. Although anything can happen in a four game series, we don’t foresee this going past five. Prediction: Miami/Houston/Minnesota in five games. (3) vs (6) - Miami/Houston/Minnesota vs Las Vegas: With the top three teams still jockeying for position, again any one of the big three in Miami, Houston or Minnesota will be taking on the Aces in Round One. A first round playoff series against Las Vegas might be where the top teams are hoping to stay away from, as Las Vegas has played Miami, Houston and Minnesota tough this year, especially against the Bulls, where the Aces have split the season series at four win each. Prediction: Miami/Houston/Minnesota in six games. (4) vs (5) – Ottawa vs San Diego: This might be the best match-up of the First Round, heading into the playoffs at least. Ottawa and San Diego have identical records after seventy games this season, both sporting a 50-18-2 record. Not only do they have identical win loss records on the season, the two franchises are separated by ten goals for and two goals against on the season. This series might come down to who gets the home ice advantage during the seven games. Prediction: Ottawa in seven games.
  21. 1. With the regular season coming to an end this week, who has stood out to you in the lockeroom? Pietro Angellini. He's always a consistent face in the locker-room talking to the team, and it helps people listen up when your number two in the VHLM in scoring. Hopefully he has a long VHL career in front of him. 2. How would you evaluate your regular season performance? I can say I am happy with how I am playing this season. Much higher point performance than expected and currently sitting in the top ten for hits in the league. Need to improve on my shot blocking in the off-season to make me a better player though. 3. We will finish the regular season 2nd in the Western Conference and could be as high as 4th in the League. How do you feel about SDM’s season? I feel that we are in a good place to make noise come playoff time, but can't help but worry a bit over the past performance against the other playoff teams. Overall we should be proud on a season that finishes over 100 points. 4. With our opponent likely being Ottawa, a team we struggled with this season (1-4-0), what do you think the strategy should be to overcome the Lynx this season? We are basically playing a carbon copy of ourselves in Ottawa. Currently we sit with the exact same record, with a very minuscule difference in our goals for and against. We have to keep peppering Krishna and hopefully wear him done early to make it through them in round one. 5. Who do you think has the most momentum heading into both the VHL and VHLM playoffs? Houston in the VHLM. Team has had long winning streaks three or four times this season. A winning streak in the playoffs can be all you need to get it done. In the VHL you can never count out Riga in a playoff series. 6. A little off topic for this one: Now that we into round 2 (it’s really 3 but okay), how has your bracket faired for the NHL playoffs? I do not have a NHL Bracket, and I couldn't I tell you who's in the playoffs. I believe Vancouver is still in as my father has been talking about them.
  22. Week 2/3
  23. Rat Race All but two of the Minor league teams in the Victory Hockey League have all played in fifty-three games at the time of writing this article. This of course means that there are only nineteen games remaining in the regular season, something that should have VHLM fans around the world excited for what is about to come. The Miami Marauders are currently sitting in first place in the VHLM with a record of 42-9-2, good enough for eight-six points, and a one-point lead for first over the Houston Bulls. While Miami is currently sitting in first place in the league, we wouldn’t say they are sitting comfortably with only a one points lead with lots of hockey remaining, especially with the way the standings have been fluctuating this season. Currently only eight points separate the first place team from the first place team in the VHLM, so the next two weeks should be fun to watch in the minors. Today we will look at some of the teams that are currently vying for the top spot in the VHLMs Seventy-Third season. Miami (42-9-2- 86 Points; Currently 1st Place) Miami currently has nine players on their roster (6 Forwards, 3 Defenseman) that have capped out on their practice hours while in the VHLM (250 Practice Hours). While they have 6 forwards currently on their roster that have capped out on practice hours, it is the team’s defense and goalie position that are currently carrying the team, especially on this thirteen game win streak they are currently on. The team currently has allowed on 102 goals against, which is comes in as an amazing 1.92 goals per game. The teams number one netminder, Bacon, has been playing some amazing hockey for the Marauders over the past week. Currently Bacon finds himself in fifth in the VHLM in save percentage (.895), and first in goals against average with that nice 1.92 GAA. Miami is also currently being led in points by one of their defenseman in Matty Socks. The Fifth Overall draft choice in the Season Seventy—Three VHLM Dispersal Draft currently leads the roster with twenty-seven goals and fifty assist, good enough for seventy-seven points and a six-point lead ahead of centerman Dakota Lamb. With a strong past thirteen games, placing them back in First Place, fans around the VHLM and in the state of Florida are wondering, will Miami be able to hold the lead as we enter the stretch run before the playoffs. Houston Bulls (42-10-1- 85 Points; Currently 2nd Place) Houston has been one of the most consistent teams in the VHLM this season, but despite that they still find themselves currently sitting in second place in the VHLM so far. Houston has had winning streaks of seven games, six games and sixteen games this season, something that would normally put a VHLM well ahead of other teams in the standings, but not this year. Another abnormally from the season with the Bulls, also has to be the play of their top defenseman Riley Knight Gee, who is currently leading the Bulls and the entire VHLM in points. Gee is currently playing in his second full season with the Bulls, exploding so far with 112 points in the fifty-three games the Bulls have played. Although Gee currently has a fifteen-point lead over Michael Hall from Minnesota in the race for the Ethan Osborne Trophy. With nineteen games remaining, Gee will need to continue to put this best foot forward to take home the award come seasons’ end. Outside the amazing season from Gee, potential First Overall Draft choice in the upcoming VHL Entry Draft, Venus Thightrap, has put together a decent season with the Bulls, with thirty-two goals and fifty-four assists for the season to date. Goaltender Drew Minott has also been doing this best in net for the Bulls, as he is currently tied for first with forty-two wins on the season. Will the Bulls be able to put together another winning streak to knock Miami off the top spot, the next few weeks in the VHLM will let us know. Ottawa (40-11-2- 82 Points; Currently 3rd Place) After a seventy-eight-point performance in Season Seventy-Two, the Lynx are looking to make a bit more noise this season, having already passed the point plateau from last season. The Lynx are currently led offensively by centerman Arthur Dayne, who they picked up in a trade with the Mexico City Kings prior to the beginning of Season Seventy-Three. Dayne currently finds himself in seventh with thirty-eights goals and fourth in the VHLM with points, putting up ninety-one points in the Lynxs’ fifty-three games so far. While the secondary scoring behind Dayne is not where they would like it to be, the Lynx management are pleasantly surprised by the great play by their defenseman and second year goaltender Ajay Krishna. Krishna currently sits in third in the VHLM in wins with forty, third in the VHLM in save percentage with a.900 and second in the league in goals against average with a 2.13. With a second best in the VHLM with 115 goals against this season, the Lynx are banking on Krishna continuing this great play down the stretch and into the playoffs. Minnesota (39-12-2-80 Points; Currently 4th Place) The pre-season favourites of many that follow the VHLM, the Minnesota Storm currently find themselves in fourth place in the VHLM in Season Seventy-Three. While they are currently in fourth place at this point in the season, they are just six points out of first place, something that is very attainable with nineteen games remaining of the season. Minnesota has been a powerhouse offensively this season as they currently sit second in the league with 228 goals for. Season Seventy-Two draftee Michael Hall has been the best player for the Storm this season, putting up a team and VHLM leading forty-nine goals, alongside his forty-eight assists, good enough for ninety-seven points in the Storms’ fifty-three games this season. While Hall has been the grease for the Stoms squeaky wheel this season, fellow Season Seventy-Two Draftee Turner McHugh has been a huge cog in the Storm machine as well. McHugh currently finds himself third on the team in points with eighty-one, but his sixty-one assists on the season are good enough for second behind the once in a lifetime season of Riley Knight Gees’, who sits in first in the leagues assist race with eighty-one. With the one-two punch of Hall and McHugh leading the way in Minnesota this season, fans are left pondering if it will be enough to take home the franchises second Founders Cup in four seasons. San Diego (38-13-2-78 Points, Currently 5th Place) The San Diego Marlins are the last team on our list of potential Founders Cup hopefuls. The Marlins are currently eight points out of first place, finding themselves current in fifth place in the VHLM. The Marlins have had an up and down season for far in Season Seventy-Three, often finding themselves on the right side of games against the other top competitors in the VHLM this season, including recent wins against Minnesota and Houston, but also finding themselves on the wrong side on the scoresheet against teams they should have no problem beating, like the recent 3-2 loss at the hands of the three win Halifax 21sts. San Diego is led offensively by the two headed monster or Pietro Angellini and John Merrick, the teams’ top two centerman. Angellini leads the team in both assists (58) and points (95), while Merrick currently leads the Marlins in goals with forty-two, and sits second to Angellini in points with eighty-eight. After that is where some of the problem lie for the Marlins, as the next closest forward to Merrick in points is VHLM journeyman winger Roadkill Steve, whose sixty-four points puts him fifth on the team in scoring. While the Marlins are not the top scoring team in the VHLM and are having trouble finding secondary scoring, the tandem of Angellini and Merrick have put the Marlins in fourth in the VHLM for goals for. Turning our attention to the blue paint for the Marlins, you will notice that Doug Dimmadome isn’t having quite the year neither himself or the team expected. Dimmadome currently sits seventh in the league in save percentage with a .893 and fourth in the league in goals against average with a 2.41 mark. While neither of the numbers are nothing to write home about, one thing the numbers doesn’t show is the quality of changes his defenseman is giving up in front of him. While the Marlins are giving up just over twenty-two shots a game, many of those shots are coming very high quality areas for the opposing team, leading to high percentage shots. With a lot of work ahead of them in the next nineteen games, fans in San Diego are hoping for the best in the remainder of the regular season, but also as they embark on the road for their first ever Founders Cup Championship. 1,508 Words. 24. 1. What are the Top 5 hockey jerseys you want to have? I guess I would go old school for hockey jerseys. I don’t pay attention to much hockey outside the VHL, so I would go with an Yzerman to go with my Osgood jersey. 2. We need a thing. Vegas has Taylor Swift love, Vancouver has Lord of the Rings shitpost memes, Miami has Cards Against Humanity and Chess Battles. What should be San Diego’s Discord exclusive thing? Nothing. That sounds terrible. We have a community that talks hockey, that’s plenty enough. 3. What are your favorite movies/films? Coming to America, Pulp Fiction, American Gangster, Tropic Thunder 4. A couple weeks ago, had a 50/50 draw on who has the most luscious locks between Dimmadome and Merrick. This week we move on to the most important talking point in VHL history. Who has the best beard in the VHL/VHLM? Jesus Christ- Goaltender Hamilton Canucks Season 1 5. What’s a food recipe you’d like to share with the group that you’ve personally tried/cooked? I made a black forest cheesecake. It was decent and actually tasted like the cake. 6. Are you a gamer? If so, what is your favorite genre of games and how do you think that genre could be even better? Sports Games. They need more completion outside of EA sports doing most of the sports games.
  25. Man on A Mission If a casual VHLM fan was reviewing the league leaders today, they would notice that a defenseman is currently leading the league in points and assists. You read that correctly, a defenseman is leading the league in scoring, and by quite a few points as we have just now passed the half-way point of the season. That defenseman name is Riley Knight Gee, a Season Seventy-Two draft choice of the Prague Phantoms Gee who now has 185 VHLM games, all with Houston, is looking like a man possessed on the ice with the Bulls this season. Gee enjoyed an impressive eighty-one-point season last year with the Bulls, but even that impressive performance did not prepare the league for his offensive outburst. Gee currently holds a fourteen-point lead over the next closest player, Pietro Angellini in the race for the Ethan Osborne Trophy for the VHLMs top scorer. With over half the season already in the books, all eyes are now on Gee to be the next VHLM defenseman to lead the league in points, joining the likes of Roque Davies and Danny DeYeeto who did it in back to back seasons.
