1.The end of an era is quickly approaching... thoughts? The end of being in the bottom of the VHL standings? I mean I'm not sure how that will go over with the social club, asking them to start winning? 2. Juice and BOOM have a little bit of a bromance going on... let's be honest, what games do you think they're playing when not at the rink? I believe I keep hear them talking about a POGO stick? 3. Who among the Legion has the best puns? We have personalities on the roster? I assumed you had to just conform to the GMs ways when your in the locker room? 4. What are some of your favorite pranks to play on your teammates? I like to pretend i'm going to pay for supper, then I walk out the front door 5. Who is the easiest target to prank? Boom. He likes to be pranked, I swear he enjoys it 6. On a scale of one to 'hold me tightly'... how was your valentines day? It was nice. Had Dennys for breakfast and Chinese Food for supper. Nice food day

Review: Norway and Switzerland sound like great places for a visit, never been myself, but you sure talk them up enough to see it’s a great choice! Nice GRR reference as well to keep it league related, along with the Hounds reference to close it out. Good luck on the end of the season and booking those tickets sooner than later. 9/10

Vacation, all I ever wanted Can't seem to get my mind off of you, back here at home there's nothin' to do. Those lyrics sung by the Go-Gos and a great Rugrats episode with the same name, are more true than ever right now. Most of the world is still dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. First off, I want to wish my condolences to those who’ve been affected by this terrible disease, not matter how you were affected. Now with the Victory Hockey Leagues annual theme week just about to wrap up, I would like to tell you about a vacation myself as Lester Greens agent and my significant other look forward to taking once things get back to normal. First Location: Orlando Florida First stop on the trip will be the Orlando International Airport. From my current location I highly doubt there will be direct flight to Orlando, but none the less we will give Orlando the number one position. First thing I am going to do is head over to the gift shop in the airport. I know I will be able to find Rays, Lightning, Panthers, Buccaneers, Seminoles, Magic, and Florida Marlins gear, but what I will be looking for in my first trip back to the United States will be San Diego Marlins swag. I haven’t bought anything from the store yet, but this will be a great opportunity to pick something up, while also saving on customs and shipping chargers. Next it will be looking for transit to our hotel to get settled and ready for a great week. Second Location: Comfort Suites Near Universal/Walt Disney World After a quick trip to unload and likely take a bit of a break after a long flight at our hotel, it will be Walt Disney World as the next stop. I myself have never been to Disney in my life, but I know I will be in good hands with the experienced company I will be with. I myself will be looking more towards the food options available at Disney. Obviously there will be some areas I will be looking forward including the rides, but more important is the great food options. It will be a few days spent at Disney World, so I don’t want to put you to sleep with all the details, but let’s just say food, shopping, rides, sleep and repeat. Third Location: Dunedin Florida Since we will be going to Florida in late February, early March, I also plan on going an linking up with some of the other sports stars in Toronto, the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays hold their Spring Training in Dunedin each February, pending Pandemic, and they have just renovated their stadium in 2020, so I plan on visiting to tour the place. I hope to meet up with some of the guys on the Roster during Greens stay in Toronto but we will have to see how that plays out. No matter what I still plan on heading on over to Dunedin to wrap up the work long trip. Final Location: Toronto Ontario Back to where we will be calling home for the next three seasons with Green signing that extension a few weeks ago. Hopefully the trip can actually go ahead in 2021, if not here is to 2022.

1. There's been plenty of trades this season from Toronto. Did you expect this much movement from management when the season started, or has it caught you by surprise? Being on the the pieces brought in, I would have never expected to be brought over to the Legion. Good surprise for me. 2. Our recent acquisition -- Gunnar Odinsson -- has joined the club and has already imprinted himself into our culture. What are your thoughts about him joining the team and immediately associating with us? / (TO BOOM: What are your thoughts about the Legions' LR culture?) Boom is a great member and a needed personality around the league. When booms engaged its great for the teams he’s on and the league is what I’m getting at, so I’m glad he’s re-engaged as a member of the Legion as he’s brought those good vibes along. 3. The term 'the future is bright' is usually applied to optimistic expectations for the near future, and is a shared opinion among the entire LR. As an individual what are your expectations for S77? I expect my player to still take penalties unfortunately, but better point production wise. Also think the team will take a step forward and look to compete for a playoff spot, possibly a wildcard spot. 4. The trade deadline is still a fair distance away, yet the majority of the teams who wanted to sell have already sold. Do you anticipate a quiet trade deadline or do you think there will be one or two more 'woah' trades between now and then? Yes, like most VHL trade deadlines I anticipated a slow trade deadline with the majority of the deals getting done prior to deadline day. 5. What are your thoughts about this seasons theme week? I’m indifferent to the idea. I don’t want to shit on the member that submitted it, but I’m not the most interested in the idea. 6. If you could change one thing about the VHL what would it be? Nice if we could find a way to update the sim engine. Seems to be a consistent review as the sim is a pain in the ass no matter the version.

1. What are your thoughts on Toronto's season so far? We are not playing terrible, but again if you aren't looking for a social gathering the game is about winning. So my thoughts are we need to win more soon. 2. Do you enjoy playing for this team? I do, the team is fun to be around. Good mix of Legion talk in the LR and outside the team talk too. We have a good core, just need to continue with with 3. Who do you think has been the Legion's best player thus far? Oh Sens has had a great season so far. Looking to again shoot for 80+ points for a second consecutive season, that's a good season from a guy in his third full season in the VHL 4. The Legion have a losing record this season, what keeps you motivated to come out and play every night even when the losses start to pile up? I want to help this team back to the Continental Cup. Its been a decade since the cup was last with the Legion. With everything the guys on the roster have appeared to gone through, I wanna help them get there. 5. Despite struggling this season, do you think the trajectory of the team is positive? I do believe we are headed in the right direction. However there is lots of work ahead and sim luck needed to get to the next level. 6. Who do you think has the most creative team name in the VHL/VHLM ? Halifax. Great history, great name. Suck rocks to those who think otherwise.

Review: I was looking for some TPE, but in all honesty I’m really glad I stumbled upon this media spot as my review. It was well written and focused outside a few minor spelling and punctuation mishaps. I enjoyed the look at what it means the be a VHLer and what might some from that experience. also should point out nothing wrong with working at Tim Hortons, someone’s gotta make coffee every 15 minutes. Good write up, very interesting take and something different to read. 8/10

VHL Storylines - Chicago Phoenix For this week’s short article in what hopefully continues as a mini-series throughout the season, we are going to take a quick look at the Chicago Phoenix. The Phoenix have now been on the VHL scene since Season Seventy-Three, but are coming off the franchise’s first winning season after the club posted a 37-win season last year, good enough for eight-four points on the season. The regular season was just the beginning for the young club, as the team would catch on fire in the post-season, going all the way to game seven of the Conference Finals against the D.C. Dragons. This season in the first twelve games, the Phoenix are showing the VHL that last season was just the tip of the iceberg, as the team currently sits tied for second place in the league standings with a 9-3 record. Early on so far the Phoenix are being driven offensively by the three headed monster of, Kyl Oferson, Lee Xin, and Matty Socks. The two forwards and defenseman account for sixty-seven of Chicago’s’ point total this season, which also happens to place all three in the top ten in points in the entire VHL. With such a huge amount of points tied up with just three players, one has to wonder what could happen in Chicago if their secondary scoring starts up.

1. (For players:) What do you think of Toronto's draft? Kristof Welch and Frank Funk Jr. were great additions to the roster right out of the gate. Both players have a bright future ahead. 2. Toronto has some impressive depth this season. Nine forwards, five defenders and two quality goaltenders. Do you think we make the playoffs? Depth is going to play a key role down the stretch. The VHL season is long and even the best players will have down stretches, so we will need those players to move play key roles in the depth positions. 3. If we make the playoffs how far do you think we'll go? I don't know how to really answer that. If we make the playoffs, you never know what's going to happen in the VHL playoffs. I hope we make the playoff this season! 4. We've got five rookies joining us for the upcoming season. Do you have any tips for them? Keep your head up. On and off the ice. With a rebuilding club our best years are ahead of us, might be a few bumps on the way. So lets look out for each other and keep our heads up. 5. What do you expect from yourself this season? I want to be better each game. Less PIMs and more action on the ice is key for a contending team. 6. What do you expect from management this season? Keep checking in with the players. Make sure they know they can speak up without repercussion.

Your LR should be free for all to discuss openly without backlash, sorry you didn’t feel that way before

Green Heads to Toronto Credit to Trooper for the Title Lester Green and the Los Angeles Star had just lost 4-1 to the Calgary Wranglers, which happened to be the Stars fifth loss on the young season. Green was just about to head down the hall to review film of the teams’ latest defeat when General Manager Josh Da Silva called Green into his office. Now entering his third season in the Victory Hockey League, all with the Stars, Green had never had than a handful of conversations with the GM. So when he was called into the office, he assumed it wasn’t to discuss a contract extension. Within twenty minutes of being told his name has come up in trade talks and the Stars were likely to accept, Green was packing his things on the first flight to the Ontario capital. Green who was drafted Thirteenth Overall by the Stars in Season Seventy-Four was swapped for Center John Merrick who last season but up 107 points for the Legion, the team who drafted Merrick Fifth Overall in the Season Seventy-Three VHL Entry Draft. Obviously with such a high powered and talented forwarded being shipped out for a defensive defenseman and a Second Round draft choice, some around the league cannot help but think it was a clear win for the Stars. While we are zero position to disagree with the masses on that fact, we don’t think the trade was that clear of a win, and look at it more of a win-win for both franchises. Rumor has is Merrick was looking for a change of scenery, while Los Angeles was looking to make a move for more offense. The Stars get a huge offense upgrade, while the Legion are able to re-set the locker-room, as they look to use their impressive young core that is still mainly on their rookie contracts. Now as we look at the team Green is joining, you’ll notice that the team happens to have a cupboard full of defenseman already on the roster with six, including three of those drafted in Season Seventy-Fix of Six. While Green joins the team as the second highest earner in TPE at this point, nine of the Legions sixteen roster players this season are still on their rookie contracts, so things are looking positive for the Legion future if the team continues to progress as expected. One of those players with a bright future is Lesters’ early line partner Jolly Green Giant. Giant who was the Second Overall pick from the most recent VHL Entry Draft, is the perfect complement to Greens defensive focused style, as the Giant has no problem jumping in on the rush with the offense. Green and his agent are excited for the future in Toronto, but know a lot of work and SIM luck have to go the Legions’ way if they want to bring home the franchise’s first Continental Cup since Season Sixty-Five. After the warm welcome after Green entered into the locker-room, Green was so excited he sat in with the contract talks that began between his agent and Legion General Manager. Green and the Legion were quickly able to come together on a three-year term, that will hopefully end in a few playoff runs, and even more if the chips all fall together.

Lester Green - 3rd Year Los Angeles Star Defenseman Now entering his third season in the Victory Hockey League with the Los Angeles Star, defenseman Lester Green is already one of the elder members of the expansion franchise. Currently there appears to be a re-acquiring theme for Green and the stars as he heads into a contact year and a veteran VHL contract, that is the team and Green are struggling and needs some veteran leadership. When Green entered the VHL as a rookie in Season Seventy-Four, expectations might have been low for the Thirteenth Overall pick in that past off-seasons VHL Entry draft, but now Green needs to dig deep inside to find something he has yet to show. Although Green wasn’t announced as a member of the leadership group in Los Angeles this season, but now as earlier stated a third year player in the league needs to bring that veteran presence on and off the ice. Green has been seen more frequently early on talking part in the day to day discussion around the locker-room, while also trying to encourage his teammates to practice. Those two things alone are huge steps Green has intended to take his year as a veteran of the roster. While Greens on ice veteran presence does not include lighting up the scoresheet each night he says his experience can help in other ways. “When you are losing as much as we have been the last three seasons, you can start to feel the guys quickly lose faith once we get down in games. While I would love to win a championship with the Stars, I understand there is going to be lots of ups and downs, and more downs of course with a franchise that just started. I can be that sounding board for the new guys on the roster and bring it to the other veteran members of the team having been here now those three seasons. I feel like that’s where my veteran leadership could really shine through. I’m obviously not the greatest rah-rah, smash a few hundred dollars’ worth of hardware in the locker-room kind of player, but I’ll listen to you no mater your experience in the league and that can also just be comforting for the younger guys as a veteran.” “One other thing about being a veteran is, I’m a little more flush in the bank than some of the younger guys around the locker-room, so a have a little calendar that has everyone’s birthdays on it this year, so I’ll be looking out for those guys, getting them a little veteran surprise on that day.” 431 Words

VHL Storylines- Seattle Bears After winning five of the last eight VHL Championships, the Seattle Bears took a little bit of a step back in Season Seventy-Four, but it appears early on they might be ready to make noise in the North American Conference. Season Seventy-One draftees Jim Bob and Vin Calia are leading the way for the Bears in their first four games. Jim Bob is having quite the season with the Bears so far, well on pace to beat his career high in points last season when he put home thirty-one goals and fifty-three assists. Jim Bob has also grown into one of the premier Power Forwards in the league putting up 1,289 hits in 364 games. Vin Calia on the other hand is in the first season with the Bears franchise after spending the last four season with the Moscow Menace. Calia currently sits second on the Bears roster with three goals and four assists. While Calia has gotten off to a great star this season, one will have to wonder how long it will last for the American forward, as 103 TPE was removed in the off-season due to depreciation. Even the greatest of all time have been beaten up the VHL beast that is depreciation.

Also I didn't know Gorlab was a new age outlaw. Are you Road Dogg or Billy Gun cause that intro was very, "oh you didn't know."

@Josh so you can add to discord. 1. 0-4 in the first four games. 7 GF, 18 GA. Why are we in that position? 2. Given the poor start, when do you hit the panic button if you and Josh traded places? 3. Our General Manager is engaging and a good locker-room presence, overall good guy. If you could change one things in the Star organization as GM for a day, what would it be? 4. Out of our class of rookies this season, who do you see having the biggest impact overall in a Stars jersey? 5. What is the best case scenario for us given our current roster? 6. Six prospects are currently listed on the Stars roster. Name one you think will play for the Stars eventually and one you could see moving on before they pull on a Stars jersey?

1. FA opens soon, any targets stand out to you? A little late to the party, but honestly with the roster being built, there is no point in my opinion to pick up any FA 2. Who takes the scoring title for the team this season? Rory likely. Best forward on the roster, should have a little more help this season too. 3. It's Nygren's last season, how many hits does he retire with? 1,744 right now, would like to see him hit 2000. 4. Which team looks the strongest right now? I have no clue, we hopefully will surprise some teams on the way to our first playoff appearance. 5. Which team would you absolutely never play for? There is not one team I wouldn’t play for. Would like to hit the expansion teams prior to anywhere else. 6. Which NHL team is your favorite? Winnipeg Jets, last game was the heritage classic, which we paid $50 for $400 tickets 2 hours before puck drop.

Stole my thunder lol

1. Best present you got for the holidays? (if you got any, otherwise what did you want). Cast Iron Skillet. Waiting one for many years, but was too cheap to buy a good one. Got one from my Fiancé from Cabela's 2. Any New Years resolutions? None. Making a resolution doesn't make sense. 3. Playoffs are almost done, who takes it? Hopefully the Dragons take the Cup. This should be lighting a fire under us and other expansion clubs to do better. 4. We have the third OA pick in this upcoming draft, who should we take? The top end of the first round is very defense heavy. Hopefully we can pull a top end forward at the number three spot and maybe a top end defenseman at the beginning of the second round. 5. How did NYA win the lotto tournament but suck all year? Esso knows how to suck at the right time I guess 6. Do you have any friends in the upcoming draft? None of my friends will ever join the league at this point in their lives. I also don't talk to 99% of the league which is great, so I don't know or want to know about anyone

Sweet Child of Mine As I sit down to write this article, I cannot help but think of the Guns and Roses song, Sweet Child of Mine. After finishing Season Seventy-Four with twenty-seven wins and sixty-one assists, the Los Angeles Stars took a step back this past season, with only twenty-one wins and fifty-one points. Where do we go, where do we go now? Those are the words I echoed in my head as I reviewed my second season with the Stars. After finishing the season with one more win than the New York Americans, the Stars entered the Season Seventy-Five Draft Lottery Tournament with the second best pre-tournament draft lottery odds. While it should come as no surprise with the way 2020 and Season Seventy-Five went for the Stars, the results of the lottery showed the Stars are still losing in the off-season, as the Lost Angeles based VHL franchise dropped to third in the final Draft Lottery results. With eight players returning from Season Seventy-Five and a few prospects likely to make the jump, the Stars don’t have tons of holes on the roster, but seem to be still lacking that final piece to the puzzle. Today we’ll take a quick look at some of the names that might be available when Stars General Manager Josh Da Silva steps up to the virtual podium. Red Lite (Right Winger- San Diego Marlins) The top prospect in the upcoming Season Seventy-Six VHL Entry Draft, Lite likely will be headed to the Big Apple to help with the impressive young forward core they already have in the stables. Lite is coming off an impressive season in the VHLM with the San Diego Marlins, playing in all seventy-two games for the franchise, putting up a balanced forty-eight goals alongside forty-nine assists. Lite entered the VHLM as your prototypical sniping forward, but after nineteen games with the Reapers in Season Seventy-Four, Lite knew he had lots to prove in his draft eligible season, to help his draft stock improve. Lite is a consistent face at practices so far leading up to his draft day, so combine his great work ethic along with his style of play makes him the best possible candidate to go First Overall and therefore, not suiting up in the black and silver next season. Battre Sandstorm (Defenseman – Saskatoon Wild) Sandstorm currently sits as the second best prospects currently eligible for the Season Seventy-Six VHL Entry Draft. Sandstorm was another member of the draft class that joined the VHLM in Season Seventy-Four at the trade deadline, allowing Sandstorm to get his feet wet in the league with seventeen games played with the Marlins in Season Seventy-Four. After putting up twenty-two points in those seventeen games, the Saskatoon Wild took notice and picked Sandstorm Eighth Overall in the Season Seventy-Five VHLM Dispersal Draft. Sandstorm had a decent final season in the VHLM with the Wild, putting up thirty-two goals and forty-three assists, which placed him in sixth in overall defenseman scoring in the VHLM. Much like Red Lite, Sandstorm is an extremely hard working individual and a great locker-room presence. With Sandstorm being the first of top defensive prospects on the board, one will wonder if the Phantoms lack of impact secondary forwards will drive them to skip the defensive prospects that are on the board. We can see Sandstorm slipping out of the number two spot based on the needs of the roster in Prague. Hulk Hogan Jr. (Defenseman – Mexico City Kings) Another quality defenseman at the top end of the draft board, Hogan Jr. is a name that will jump off the paper to many that follow the VHL, due to the top notch VHL career his father just had. While Hogan Jr. is being represented in the league by a different player agent that his father, it appears already from his short tenure in the VHLM, that Hogan Jr. might be more like his father than first meets the eye. Hogan Jr. joined the Miami Marauders at the trade deadline and had the privilege to play in twenty regular season games, along with the Marauders eighteen playoff games, hitching a ride with the eventual Founders Cup Champions. Hogan didn’t have the greatest season offensively for an offensive defenseman, putting up twenty-one points and twenty-eights assists, those numbers won’t be the reason that Hogan Jr. doesn’t get picked up in the first three draft choices. With Hogan Jr. player agents ties to the Vancouver Wolves franchise it is not likely he’ll be selected by the Stars, but a defenseman with the pedigree Hogan Jr. has doesn’t come around every draft at the number three spot, so it might be worth a shot for Da Silva. Tom Eagles (Defenseman – Philadelphia Reapers) Eagles is the third defenseman in a row currently on the VHL top prospects list. Eagles was drafted Sixteenth Overall by the Philadelphia Reapers in the Season Seventy-Five VHLM Dispersal Draft and got right to work for the Reapers. Eagles played in all seventy-two games for the Reapers in this past regular season, putting up seventeen goals and forty-seven assists in those seventy-two games, placing him fifth on the Reapers roster in scoring. Eagles and the Reapers also found themselves up against the Mexico City Kings recently in the Season Seventy-Five Founders Cup, and earlier today the Championship run came to an end for Eagles and the Reapers with a win in game six. Eagles performed very well in the fifteen VHLM playoff games, posting six goals and nine assists in those fourteen games, showing the hockey world and the VHL the next steps he has taken to take his game to the next level. Eagles is represented by a player agent that has been around the league for many years, so Eagles likely has tons of help preparing himself for the VHL Entry Draft. With only thirty practice house separating Eagles from the number one prospect in the draft, it’s likely Eagles won’t go higher than fourth, but stranger things have happened over the course of a VHL Entry Drafts.
