  1. I really like the new changes although I do see an area that seems to penalize those who have been trying not to build a meta player per se. Take my build for instance: In order to bring Checking up to where I want it (low-90s), I have to add a lot of fighting due to there only being two hybrid attributes for Checking and one for Fighting. What if I don't want a lot of Fighting and then have to waste TPA on Discipline to try and counteract it? On the flip side if someone does want to build an all-out fighter, the highest they can put fighting is 69. Just seems like these two stats, which are typically "non-meta" are getting the short end of the stick. ALSO... Just did a test build with the same amount of TPA (842) as I currently have. My current build "points" (add attributes together): 850 Test build points: 789 That is a significant difference. Now I guess everyone will have similar drops but that seems a bit steep? Comments from the BOG? Thanks.
  2. The End of an Era in Malmo? After a heartbreaking loss in the play-in round against rival Moscow Menace where Malmo was ahead 2-1 in the series and then lost the next two games in overtime, the Nighthawks could be reaching the end of an era. The Nighthawks have reached the playoffs in each of the last six seasons, the longest streak in the franchise's history. Only three players have been on the team for the entire streak: goaltender Artem Tretiak @Molholt and wingers Brendan Telker @Telkster and Druss Deathwalker @animal74. Telker and Deathwalker joined the team in S77 after both being selected in the first round of the S77 Entry Draft. With Tretiak, a backup during the Nighthawks’ first Cup win in S75 and the newly minted starter after Malmo traded Grekkark Gyrfalcon @Sharkstrong to Prague during S76, they helped usher in the most successful period in Malmo's short history. Along with six consecutive trips to the postseason, they captured the franchise's second Continental Cup in S79 after producing one of the greatest offensive seasons in league history. That success also brought individual awards for Telker (Brooks Trophy - Goals Leader) and Tretiak's (Shaw Trophy - Best Goaltender) regular season brilliance. And while Deathwalker has not garnered any league awards yet, he has led the league in hits and penalty minutes a few times as well as game-winning goals in S81. The trio have also set numerous team records during their time. Tretiak is the franchise's all-time leader amongst goalies for games played, wins, and losses in the regular season and the playoffs while Telker has become the team's all-time leader in goals, shots, and game-winning goals in the regular season and playoffs and Deathwalker is the all-time leader in hits and plus/minus in the regular season and playoff hits and penalty minutes as well as serving as the team’s captain for the last five seasons. With Tretiak's retirement imminent at the conclusion of S82, only Telker and Deathwalker remain. Telker is signed for his last two seasons while Deathwalker has a mutual option for next season and has expressed interest in staying with the only club he has ever played for. Druss Deathwalker and Brendan Telker celebrate a Malmo goal. But without a starting goalie in the wings and all four of the team's defensemen either retiring or entering free agency (not to mention the retirement of center Steve Eso @Eso), the winds of change might hit the Nighthawks hard. GM @Dom has to decide whether to retool his entire back-end or become a seller in the off-season and look to the future. Neither of those options seem appealing but due to a lack of quality goalies on the market, the GM's hand may be forced. The Nighthawks have seen significant changes in each of the last six seasons with Tretiak, Telker, and Deathwalker as the constant. With Tretiak gone, that constant is shaken and their run of playoff appearances is in danger. With only a couple of more seasons remaining for the two S77 draftees, whether Telker and Deathwalker stay as career Nighthawks and continue to build their legacy in Malmo or if their legacy will be what futures can be acquired from trading them, the only thing that is certain is that the end of an era is close at hand for the team but how close remains to be seen.
  3. Malmo captain Druss Deathwalker continues to climb the VHL’s leaderboard for all-time hits. After hitting a career-high of 413, tied with former Helsinki defenseman Nick Fisher for the 12th-highest single-season total in history, Deathwalker now sits in 21st place with 2165 career hits with two more seasons to go. Next in his sights are a couple of Hall of Famers in Leeroy Jenkins @Squinty (20th, 2182 hits) and Mikko Lahtinen @Beketov (19th, 2183) and recently retired Groovy Dood @bigAL (18th, 2191). Deathwalker became just the 10th player in league history with six seasons of 300+ hits, just the fifth player with six consecutive seasons of 300+ hits, and only the third player in history to start their career with six consecutive seasons of 300+ hits, joining Fook Yu @Baozi and HOFer Brennan McQueen @Jamie. If Deathwalker can crash his way to 300 hits again in S83 he will join McQueen as the only other player to have seven consecutive seasons of 300+ hits to start a career and in general and Deathwalker will have done something McQueen never did - have 400+ hits in a VHL season (although McQueen did have 410 hits in his lone VHLM season). So, who will be crushed in Deathwalker's quest for the record? Will it be you? Probably.
  4. What a great series between a great rivalry! #NighthawksRising
  5. @Gaikoku-hito Congrats on a great career for Bouchard! Good luck with your next player!
  6. My VHL Thug Dream Team Since I already outlined some of the meanest, toughest SOBs in one VHL era here, I wanted to revisit this idea with my VHL Thug Dream Team. A few notes on my criteria: Obviously I wanted the biggest and baddest who have ever laced up skates in the VHL but also I wanted some "rink cred" - either some glory, some fear factor, or even a badass name - something else besides just stats. So, enjoy and debate if you will. Due to time constraints, I went with a single lineup of 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, and a goalie. FORWARD Da’Brickashaw O’Neal (S10-S14) One of the original thugs in the VHL O'Neal spent his career terrorizing the opposition to the tune of the highest PIM/game average of anyone in the VHL with 3.75 and the top two single season PIM totals - records that still stand today. He is still 11th all-time with 1353 PIM. Along with being one of the toughest SOB's to ever skate in the league O'Neill also has the thug cred of winning two Cups with Davos and having one of the coolest names ever in the league. Peter Payne (S8-S15) How can we not go with the league's career leader in penalty minutes with 1858? Even before O'Neal, Peter brought the pain every night to the rink but he did garner a slice of the limelight winning two consecutive Boulet Trophies and one Continental Cup. He also had 1761 hits which was the VHL record when he retired although the total was eclipsed by a few of the next generation of players. Motherfucker Sharpe (S54-S60) Would you really want to line up against a dude with this name? His career of pugilism is scary to say the least. In S57, he recorded the 7th highest hits in a season with 421. He fought 44 times over his seven-year career and only lost twice! His 2108 hits and 1195 PIM are 22nd and 24th all-time respectively. While glory in the big league was just out of his grasp, missing out on the S56 Continental Cup, he did win two Founder's Cup early in his career during his time in the VHLM. DEFENSE Randy Marsh (S72-S78) @oilmandan Marsh was one of those guys you loved to hate. You loved having him on your team and he was a great guy off the ice but you hated playing against him. During his career, he was usually in the Top-10 for hits, PIM, and fights and led the league in each of those categories multiple times. In only seven seasons, he racked up the 6th-most career penalty minutes in league history and 1702 hits as well. He was a member of the Bears' S73 Cup-winning team and won the Wylde Trophy in his final season. Luc-Pierre Lespineau-Lebrunnette (S60-S66) @FacePuncher LPLL was a terror on skates. He was routinely among the leaders in PIM and in fact holds two of the top 25 single-season totals in VHL history. Fighting 44 times in his career definitely helped him earn those totals and he would finish his career with 1566 PIM still the 4th highest in league history. He would also dish out over 1800 hits and win consecutive Cups with Toronto in S64-S65. GOALIE Claudio Martucci (S24-S28) Besides being the only goalie in VHL history with two seasons of 30 or more PIM, his name instantly suggests "mafia connections", doesn't it? His career, while short, was memorable. He sits just inside the Top-30 for career GAA (2.29) and SV% (0.921) and his record of 138-71-13 is solid. His claim to fame, though, is winning the Howe Trophy as playoff MVP, leading Helsinki to the S27 Continental Cup as a starter after backing up Daisuke Kanou in Davis's S24 Cup win.
  7. Druss Deathwalker continues to establish himself as one of the most physically imposing figures the league has ever seen. Recently, he became only the 20th player in history to accumulate 1000 PIM and 2000 hits, a feat last reached by Jim Bob @jRuutu in S78. Deathwalker also just reached 300 hits for the sixth consecutive season meaning he has crashed his way to at least 300 hits every season of his career including his season in the VHLM. With more than two season left to play, he is on pace to challenge Zach Parechkin's @DollarAndADream career record of 2769 hits. But Druss is not just about the carnage. He also just scored his 20th goal of the campaign giving him five straight seasons of 20 or more goals. He's also seen more time on the penalty kill and has responded with a career high 45 shot blocks. Deathwalker continues to help Malmo on both ends of the ice as the Nighthawks look to strengthen their playoff position down the stretch.
  8. Leading the league in hits, one of the top forwards in blocked shots and not even a sniff at the Boulet...
  9. Ah, finally! Someone who knows! Yes, I'm a huge fan of Gemmell's books. Nothing else quite compares.
  10. Even as Malmo veterans Druss Deathwalker @animal74 and Brendan Telker @Telkster are struggling after depreciation, the next generation of Nighthawks are stepping up and keeping Malmo afloat toward a playoff spot. Nathaniel Minion @Minion and Taylor Mourning @scoop are leading the team with 64 and 57 points respectively after 41 games. Mourning leads the team in goals with 25 and Minion is tops in assists with 42. Rookie Miroslav Tsarov @PadStack is having a fine rookie season with 36 points and is tied for second on the team with a +17 rating. With star goalie Artem Tretiak @Molholt, defenseman Addison McLaren @tcookie, and center Steve Eso @Eso all set to retire after S82 is there any help on the horizon? The most likely candidates to make the jump to the pros next season are blueliner Dabnad Shaw @Dabnad and goaltender Thomas Price @Thunderidge both of whom are developing nicely with the Geneva Rush in the VHLE. Shaw is showcasing his strength and physicality leading the Rush in penalty minutes with 86 to go with 111 hits in only 40 games. He is also playing well defensively and while his offense needs some work, he is a good passer as shown by his 14 assists. Price is providing strong play as one of the best backups in the league with a 3-6-1 record and a 0.917 save percentage. The Nighthawks are excited about Shaw, Price and all their other prospects and look forward to having them join the team soon!
  11. @Telkster and @Minion, congrats! Thanks again for your vote of confidence! I believe I'm now tied with Condor for the longest serving captain for Malmo. It has been and still is an honor and highlight of my career! #NighthawksRising
  12. Game Recap: Game #193 London 5 Davos 4 In a game featuring two European teams at the opposite ends of the conference, the score was closer than one might expect. The EU Conference-leading London United have been riding their rookie-fueled offense all season while Davos has been struggling to score. The United opened the scoring after only playing 1:23 on Zaza Colors’ 13th but Nicholas Mariani responded for Davos with his 9th just over four minutes later. London’s Shane Lazeski scored before another four minutes had passed and that’s how the first period ended, with London up 2-1 and the shots tied at 11 apiece. Then things got interesting. London owned the second period scoring three goals in rapid succession including two on the power play. Before the period was six minutes in, Lazeski, Rolf Fizzlebeef Jr and Nils Godlander had all tallied to put London up 5-2 with the United outshooting the hapless Dynamo 19-9. The game was as good as over. Or was it? Davos must have stolen some of London’s Gatorade in the second intermission because it was the Dynamo that came out flying in the third period with Gregory Bates, David Tavau, and Trevor Wallace all scoring in the first 3:32! In spite of again tying in shots with 14 each, goalies Kunibuni UnGuri and Cole Pearce would stop everything else with Pearce picking up his 17th win for London. One thing that helped London to the win was going 2-for-3 with the man advantage and winning 58.8% of the faceoffs. London’s Matt Avens would pick up two assists to hold off teammate Godlander atop the rookie and team scoring leaderboard. 3 Stars 1 - Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny (DAV), 1-1-2, 7 shots 2 - Nils Godlander @Moon (LDN), 1-2-3, GWG, 7 shots 3 - Shane Lazeski @Lazarus (LDN), 2-0-2 London Mentions: @McWolf @Mr Bohannan @TacticalHammer @N0HBDY Davos Mentions: @Mistxh J @Tyler @Ahma @Berocka
  13. S81 Team Awards The Malmo Nighthawks surprised many in S81 by using a late surge to overtake the Moscow Menace to win the European Conference with a 52-win, 106-point record. The Nighthawks rode their historic (second best since S20) and league-leading power play to their second 300-goal season in the last three campaigns. They lost out on their ultimate goal, however, as they were defeated in the Conference Final in six games by the Menace. Breakout star Taylor Mourning won the Dust’n Funk Trophy as the VHL’s Most Improved Player after scoring 47 goals and 107 points, a 73-point increase from S80. Here are the S81 Team Awards as voted by the players and management. Condor Adrienne Award (Best Defenseman) Kristof Welch @Juice Welch was brought in to help shore up the defense after key losses in the off-season and his all-around brilliance shone all year. His playmaking was key on Malmo’s potent power play as he was second on the team with 32 man-advantage points. He led the team with a career-high 84 assists (7th in the VHL) and led Nighthawk defensemen with 107 points (third on the team) and a career-high +48 rating. Unsung Hero Taylor Mourning @scoop Steve Eso @Eso Scotty Kaberle @fromtheinside A tribute to the Nighthawks’ incredible depth in S81, eight players were nominated for the Unsung Hero but there was a three-way tie for the award: As mentioned above, Mourning was named the league’s most improved player for his career year where he was second on Malmo in goals (47), points (107), hits (314), and shots (503). Eso’s first season with the Nighthawks was outstanding as he set career-highs in goals (35), assists (63 – third on Malmo), points (98 – fourth on Malmo), and plus/minus (45 – third on Malmo). He also led the team in faceoffs and faceoff wins. Kaberle led Malmo defensemen with a career-high 25 goals (tied for third in the league) and was second on the team with 154 blocked shots, and third in hits (200), plus/minus (45), and game-winning goals (6). Most Gentlemanly Scott Kaberle @fromtheinside Although Kaberle was fourth on the team in penalty minutes with a career-high 118 in his last season, the veteran blueliner was not awarded a major penalty the entire season. The normally laid back Kaberle did increase his physicality as well with 200 hits but remained the perfect gentleman on the ice and in the locker room he was the consummate teammate just as he was his entire career. Rookie of the Year Nathaniel Minion @Minion After 100-point seasons in both the VHLM and VHLE, the diminutive Canadian center finally made his VHL debut with one of the best rookie seasons in franchise history. He had a fantastic season finishing fourth in league rookie scoring with 87 points which was also good for sixth on Malmo. His energy, playmaking and well-roundedness was a boon to forward group that had lost a lot of pop the last couple of off-seasons. He was fourth on the Nighthawks with 61 assists, 362 shots and 5 game-winning goals. Malmo ROY and Most Energetic - Nathaniel Minion Most Energetic Nathaniel Minion @Minion Minion brought a lot of fresh energy to the Nighthawks, not only on the ice but also in the locker room where he grew into a vocal leader. He contributed on all areas of the ice and was used in all situations. He even got into five fights, second only to Matt thunder on the team. Most Valuable Player Brendan Telker @Telkster After a bit of a down year in S80, Telker bounced back with another stellar campaign in S81 and led the team in goals (56), points (121), shots (563), and power play points (34). He was also second on the team with 65 assists and was the only player in the league to play all 72 games and not receive a single penalty. During the season, Telker became the Nighthawks’ franchise career leader in goals and shots. Nighthawk of the Year Druss Deathwalker @animal74 Another Nighthawk who had a career year, captain Deathwalker set new bests in most categories while leading the VHL in game-winning goals with 13, second in hits (393) and eighth in PIM (158). He also led Malmo with a plus-49 rating. He was a force on the ice and a vocal and inspirational leader in the room. Congrats to all the award winners! Nighthawks: @Telkster @animal74 @scoop @Juice @Minion @Eso @Molholt @fromtheinside @TMGSosa @kevinscix @Matt thunder @jacobcarson877
  14. Game Recap: Game #33 Vancouver 2 Calgary 0 Just as in S81, the Calgary Wranglers are close but not close enough to the level of the Vancouver Wolves. After winning their first three games of the season, Calgary faced their West Coast rivals for the first time since losing to the eventual Cup winners in seven games in the Conference Final. The first two periods were fairly even with Vancouver having a 24-19 edge in shots and each team giving up two power plays but goaltenders Thadius Sales (VAN) @thadthrasher and Sirkants Klamasteris (CGY) @hedgehog337 matched each other save for save. Playoff MVP Jerome Reinhart @MexicanCow123 would finally light the lamp at 14:50 of the third period and with 28 seconds remaining, his brother Tyler @Zetterberg guided his team-leading 7th shot into the empty net with Klamasteris pulled. Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgers and Reylynn (The Other) Reinhart @Ricer13 led the Wranglers with 7 shots each but neither could beat Sales who stopped all 37 Calgary shots to earn his first shutout of the season and 8th of his career.
  15. Is there an update on this? I also would like to suggest (and it's a lot of work but I'd offer to do a lot of the leg work) to have profile for all the old players and have as much info as possible in them. We have a lot of season by season data but it would be nice (especially when researching VHL history - ok, I'm biased) to have the player info in a single profile instead of having to search through 3-6 different spreadsheets.
  16. Just an idea I had for a secondary PT along the lines of trivia but what about a quiz/scavenger hunt that had questions about the past week's games that folks would have to go into the index and find the answers to? (Example: Who scored the GWG in the Prague-Warsaw game?) There could be 4-6 questions in a Google Form and make it worth 2 TPE. It would get more views for the game files too. And maybe a draw for 1 TPE each week if you player is mentioned in the quiz.
  17. Going to crash Ohradka's old team and do a presser with you guys! 1. I like most stuff but I'm always up for pizza, lasagna, a good steak, etc... 2. I like both but coffee is my go to. I probably drink way too much. I like me a good Pumpkin Spice or Egg Nog latte (yes, I'm one of those) 3. Well, I handled my first year of regression fairly well so I'm hoping for another good year, 80+ points, 300+ hits. Really hoping I can reach 400 hits this season! 4. I missed the sign-up so my breakout candidates are Nathan Powers, Its Gucci, and Darth Kaprizov. 5. Well, Asher was already selected so congrats to him! 6. Just keep building a team and Phamily that players and alumni can be proud to say that they are/were a part of!
  18. No points in two games but 5 SB in one (was I playing defense???) and 9 hits in the other. #Intangibles
  19. You were a pleasure to play with in Malmo and you were a valuable cog in our Cup-winning team in S79! I wish you success in your final season. Don't be a stranger in the Malmo LR @TMGSosa! #NighthawkForever
  20. Credit: @v.2 The Rise of Jerome Reinhart and the Fall of Postseason Records What a season S81 turned out to be! League offense, which had been on an upswing in recent seasons due to expansion and the retirement of much goaltending talent, perhaps hit the peak of the pendulum swing as the VHL saw Seattle’s Justin Lose post the first 70-goal, 140-point season since Podrick Cast’s historic campaign in the scoring explosion of S62 and Moscow’s blueliner Aurelien Moreau became only the sixth player in league history to dish out 100 assists - for the first time since Joel Jarvi did it in S53! The Vancouver Wolves played red-light roulette with the rest of the league as their historic offense produced the most goals (381), assists (668), points (1049) and shots (4146) since S20. The Malmo Nighthawks’ power play (33.3%) was the most efficient since S21. And, in an unsurprising correlation, London goalie Tater Tot faced the most shots (3992) of any netminder since S20. However, the regular season was just an appetizer to the onslaught that the Wolves generated in the playoffs on route to their second-consecutive Continental Cup, both times at the expense of the also dangerous Moscow Menace. But before delving into this most recent postseason, a little history to set the stage: During the three-season span of S32-S34, the VHL postseason record book was rewritten by a few stellar performers that set the new gold standard for playoff brilliance and that standard has stood the test of time for close to 50 seasons. Over the years, some have come close but the records have stood relatively unmatched and unbeaten. Despite leading the VHL in offense, the S32 New York Americans ended up 5th in league standings causing them to start in the play-in round. The Americans’ offense stayed red hot as their stars outshone everyone else and set numerous playoff records after defeating Riga in seven games for the franchise’s second Continental Cup. New York right winger Troy Athera tied Scotty Campbell’s 27-season record for assists in a postseason with 20. Teammate Connor Evans led all playoff scores with 31 points which was one more than Campbell’s record of 30 also set in S5. Future Hall-of-Famer Tukka Reikkinen also broke a Campbell record as his 16 goals bested Campbell’s 13 set in S4. Perhaps the most impressive feat though came from New York’s Radislav Mjers who also tied Campbell’s 30 points as a defenseman which garnered him the Daisuke Kanou Trophy as playoff MVP. He broke the record of 25 that had been set the season before by former American Damon Wolfe, who had bested Alexander Sauve’s S18 record of 20 and set the new league mark of 6 power play goals. Mjers also set the record for goals by a defenseman in the postseason with 12 – a record that still stands today. In S33, more records were meant to fall. After losing a heartbreaking Game 7 in the Finals the season before, the Riga Reign entered S33 hungry to avenge their loss although they did it the hard way. And no one was hungrier than Riga captain Elijah Incognito, the reigning Labatte Trophy winner. He was unstoppable in the playoffs, dishing out a VHL record 24 assists and 34 points. He also set new league marks scoring 9 of his 10 goals on the power play and garnering 16 power play points. Incognito won the Kanou Trophy for his brilliant performance. Teammate Thomas Corcoran also broke the previous VHL playoff assist record with the second-most in history with 22. Elijah Incognito fends off a New York American S34 was the year of Alexander Chershenko. Thought by many to be on the decline in his final season, Ukrainian center Chershenko cemented his place in the VHL archives by leading the league in goals and points in the regular season in spite of being traded twice. He then put on an offensive display for the ages in the playoffs. In the first two games against New York, he scored consecutive hat tricks, including the overtime goal in Game 1 and the game winner in Game 2 and had a total of 8 goals in the seven game series win. He willed Calgary through another seven-game series win against Quebec only to lose the Continental Cup in Game 7, 2-1 in overtime, to the Helsinki Titans, a game in which he scored the Wranglers only goal. He would finish his career setting new league postseason records with 18 goals and 36 points and tying Incognito’s 16 power play points. He added his second Kanou Trophy to his collection but missed out on a third Cup. Now back to the present day… In Vancouver’s first series against the Toronto Legion, the Wolves averaged an insane 7 goals per game and demolished the Legion 4-1 in five games. Third-year left winger, Jerome Reinhart, who led Vancouver in goals in the regular season with 61, good for fourth in the VHL, went ballistic and averaged 4 points-per-game in the series scoring two hat tricks including a four-goal game (and the series-winning goal) in Game 5. Reinhart was named one of the 3 Stars every game and was the 1st Star three times. He also had two game-winning goals to make his stat line of 13 goals and 20 points in five games absolutely incredible. The Wolves would face a much tougher opponent in the second round in the Calgary Wranglers, who were the VHL’s hottest team heading into the playoffs riding an 11-game winning streak. The Wranglers would indeed slow down the Wolves, taking them to a full seven games, including three overtime thrillers, but Vancouver would prevail behind Reinhart’s second 5-point game and second series-winning goal of the playoffs. And that is just where the history begins. In Game 7, Reinhart opened the scoring at 10:03 with tying Chershenko with his 18th of the playoffs. Just over five minutes later, Reinhart scored again, this time on the power play to set the new VHL record at 19 goals – and he did it in nine fewer games than Chershenko. Then at 17:25 in the third period with the game well in hand, Reinhart chalked up an assist on Corey Kitson’s power play goal, his third helper and fifth point of the night to tie Chershenko for points with 36 – again in nine fewer games! And now Vancouver still had another wholes series to play. How far could Reinhart and the Wolves go? Waiting for the Wolves were the menacing Moscow Menace who were led by defenseman Hard Markinson who was also playing at a historic pace and would end the playoffs with a couple of records of his own with 27 assists and 37 points to break Incognito’s marks of assists by a skater and points by a defenseman. Game 1 saw Vancouver edge the Menace 5-3 in a back and forth battle. At 11:55 in the first period, Jerome garnered an assist when his brother, Tyler Reinhart, ripped a power play marker past Moscow goalie Papa Emeritus. That assist (his first of three on the night) earned Jerome Reinhart the record for points in a postseason with 37. And he was not done with the VHL record books yet. In Game 5, Rienhart would account for all of Vancouver’s offense as he scored his record third hat trick and add an assist in a 4-2 win to put the Wolves up 3-2 in the series. He would score two goals and an assist in the final game for his third straight multi-goal game to help Vancouver defeat Moscow for the Continental Cup for the second year in a row. It would be Vancouver’s fourth cup since becoming the Wolves and third in eight seasons. Jerome Reinhart scored 28 goals (10 more than the previous record) and 52 points (16 points more than the previous record) in three less games then Chershenko and set more records as well. His 13 power play assists were more than Chershenko’s 10 and his 21 power play points were more than the 16 shared by Chershenko and Incognito. Also, his 2.88 points-per-game bested Campbell’s previous mark of 2.73. Now Reinhart had a lot of help and many of his teammates also bettered some of the aforementioned records during the course of the Wolves’ Cup run – but none could better Reinhart. Vancouver Wolves' GM @Nykonax had this to say about his star's performance: "Jerome specifically has really grown as a player during his time on the Wolves and was an integral piece in our second cup run. The coaching staff was definitely surprised by his offensive output, scoring almost a 3rd of our team's goals this playoffs is certainly impressive, as well as smashing playoff records that have stood for more than 40 seasons. He's a massive part of this team, both on and off the ice, and we are ecstatic to have him locked up for the prime years of his career." When it was all said and done, Jerome Reinhart won his second consecutive Continental Cup, scored a point in every one of Vancouver’s 18 games and multiple points in 15 of those games on his way to setting no less than six VHL playoff records and treated the VHL faithful to a legendary performance that may never be duplicated. Reinhart received what most record-setters in the VHL playoffs earn – the Daisuke Kanou Trophy as postseason MVP. But he showed the VHL that he was much more than just the Most Valuable. He was the Alpha Wolf.
