  2. RJ Jubis Biography EARLY LIFE RJ Jubis was born in Yarmouth, Nova-Scotia, Canada. A small town with a population of just over 6,000 people. He was first pushed into the sport of hockey by his father. They skated on their shallow pond behind their house every winter. Even at a very early age he dreamed of playing hockey for a living. Like many kids RJ would imitate hockey stars he had seen on tv. He stepped onto the ice at the young age of 5. The location was University Sainte Anne's hockey arena in Church point, Nova-Scotia. Mixed with the 19 other skaters RJ Jubis did not stand out. Considered a late bloomer, things stayed this way for a long time. As he got older he failed to make the Atom and Peewee Rep teams for four straight years. This did not stop Jubis from practicing his shot for hours a day in the garage of his family home. He would shoot with a shooter tutor covering the net. RJ would not stop practicing until he scored 10 in a row. TEENAGE YEARS Fast forward through many road trips, old icy cold arenas and Tim Horton's pit stops. Tournaments where you may play 5 games in 2 days. On road trips the team would gather in hotel hallways to play mini stick hockey. These were Jubis's greatest memories at the time. Now in his final Bantam year at age 14. RJ Jubis will begin to have his breakout year. He was playing in SEDMHA, an international minor hockey tournament played in Halifax, Nova-Scotia. He scored an outstanding 23 goals and had 6 assists in 6 games played. Leading his team to an Odyssey Championship with a 6-0-0 record. After winning the championship he was then contacted shortly after by the South shore Mustangs. The Mustangs had high hopes of him joining their team. They play in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League or NSMMHL. The same league that has rostered the likes of NHL superstars Sidney Crosby and Brad Marchand. RJ Jubis played two outstanding years for the Mustangs. He was able to play in 141 games and scored 186 goals ,112 assists for 298 points. JUNIORS He was then drafted by the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League or QMJHL. His first season with the mooseheads was in 2017-2018. He struggled to find his speed and seemed to be a step slower then his opponents. He dressed for 56 games in his rookie season mostly on the 2nd line and scored 27 goals and had 14 assists for 41 points. With his hockey future in the balance he knew he needed a change. The following summer he immediately changed up his off season routine. He stopped attending summer Bbq's and parties with his friends. RJ began training daily. He wanted to lean out and add a lot of muscle to his frame. Once out of shape at 205 Lbs RJ Jubis was determined to put in the work. By the end of summer 2018 he was now walking around at a much stronger faster weight of 215 Lbs. He entered the Mooseheads training camp a man on a mission. He earned a spot on the top line out of training camp and never looked back. The 2018-2019 season was his best yet. He played in 65 games and scored 69 goals. This was just 2 goals shy of the Mooseheads record of 71 goals held by Ladislav Nagy back in 1998. The Mooseheads were lucky enough to host the Memorial cup that year. RJ Jubis was not able to finish the season on a high note tho as Halifax lost in the final to Rouyn-Noranda. THE INJURY RJ Jubis was 40 games into what looked like his career year with the Mooseheads. He had scored 46 goals and was gunning for the all time goals in a single season record. Then the injury happened. The Mooseheads were on the road against the Charlottetown Islanders. Down 3-2 in the 3rd period with 12 mins left. The Mooseheads were on the powerplay. Jubis the big body was playing the front net position. They cycled the puck around for the 1st minute. Then Jake Ryczek has an open lane and takes a bomb of a slapshot. The shot hits Jubis directly in the face and he collapses to the ice. The medical staff rushes to the ice. Immediately it is evident that the puck hit Jubis in the eye. The crowd was standing and the arena was silent. RJ Jubis just was not moving with a pool of blood next to him. It took a few minutes for RJ to gain the strength to get up and on to his feet. He was then rushed to the nearby hospital in Charlottetown. Emergency surgery was required to repair a damaged retina. Jubis had a lengthy recovery ahead of him. He missed the remainder of the season. This injury had Pro Scouts beginning to look the other way. It took 5 long months but RJ Jubis fully recovered. He gained his vision back in his injured eye. Even though he was fully recovered no pro team wanted to touch him. Jubis once a projected top 10 1st round pick became an undrafted one. THE VHLM Jubis knew after going undrafted that his only way to the pros was through the minor leagues. He started reaching out to teams in the VHLM. The Saskatoon Wild were immediately interested. They signed the 6'4" free agent to a one year deal sight unseen. Jubis was ecstatic because the Wild were willing to take a chance on him. He started the season with something to prove. He was willing to do whatever it took to get potentially drafted by a VHL team. The hockey gods had other plans in mind as nothing seemed to go Jubis's way. Halfway into the season Jubis had scored only 6 goals in 44 games played. The possibility of a VHL team wanting to draft him was growing thin. He was a late round pick at best. That is if he even got drafted at all. Saskatoon coaching staff decided to get Jubis to centre the first line. Playing alongside star forward Ondrej Ohdraka jump started Jubis's season. Jubis scored 23 goals through the final 28 games. This propelled him up the draft rankings and essentially took him from zero to hero. VHL DRAFT As the VHL draft approached it was easily visible that no player in this seasons draft had climbed the rankings as fast as Jubis. Jubis was now projected to be drafted anywhere from 7th-15th pick in the 1st round. Out of nowhere Jubis was off the board early. The Calgary Wranglers selected him with their 5th overall pick. RJ Jubis was beyond excited. Getting to start the season for a wonderful organization like Calgary. The Wranglers showed Jubis that they truly had faith in him by selecting him so early. Jubis has realized his dream and has become a true professional hockey player. RJ Jubis is expected to have a long a prosperous career for Calgary. Some hockey insiders think he might just be a few seasons away from cracking the Wranglers 1st line. Only time will tell where this story goes.
  3. Jubis Drafted by Calgary RJ Jubis , LW Saskatoon Wild 72GP 29G 33A 62PTS +4 RJ Jubis was just selected 5th overall by the Calgary Wranglers in the 1st round of the VHL Draft. Jubis was projected to go anywhere from 7th to 15th overall in the draft. The Calgary Wranglers were one busy team in the 1st round also selecting Okada 9th overall and Rice 11th overall. Q: What was going through your head when you found out you were selected 5th overall ? A: I was shocked and in disbelief. I still feel like I'm dreaming. I'm so happy to be drafted by Calgary. The Wranglers Gm had contacted me shortly before the draft took place. Explained their intentions were to reach for me with an early pick. Q: Do you think you will enjoy playing in the City of Calgary? A: Short answer is yes 100%. Any organization that has this much belief in me makes it so welcoming to play here. The Wranglers truly believe I'm going to be a great player. I just have to work hard and prove them right. My dream is to win here. , RJ Jubis

The amount of layers and attention to detail that has been put into this is out of this world! Great work! This on another level vs other player cards.
  5. Far from that. You were always extremely helpful as a GM. I could have always asked if I was unsure if I was able to do the tasks. In the end it all worked out ?
  6. I guess you're right. 1st gen s69 players are the only ones who would really struggle with this. We are too new to know what the normal career tasks are and what new ones would look like. I'm not actually still upset. Just thought the guidelines should be clearer. Plus I needed a topic to earn my 2 TPE. Like I said above I'm addicted to earning TPE.
  7. ISSUE WITH CAREER POINT TASKS Ok so my issue is with the "Junior review" and "Prospect Scouting Report" career tasks. A month ago I read through the guidelines for the junior review. Completed it and tried to claim the task but it was rejected. I was told it was for s70 players and newer. I am a 1st gen s69 player. I was frustrated but figured I could save some of my work for my biography someday. Fastforward to this week and I am now fully addicted to earning TPE. I am always trying to find more ways to gain. So I decided to do the Prospect Scouting Report career task. I read the guidelines which stated: " to be completed during your VHL draft season or the season following that". I think great this fits my players timeline perfectly. Nowhere does it say the task is only for s70 players or newer. So of course again my claim is rejected. I put a lot of effort into it with each and every Pro and Con had a relatable picture attached. Luckily this time I was persuaded to use it for my media spot this week. I would like to do the Rookie Experience task when the time comes but I am afraid the guidelines are unclear. It would somehow end up being for s70 and newer players once again. I recommend as a solution just simply update the guidelines. Any career tasks that are just for S70 players or newer just say so in the guidelines. This would save the next schmuck like me from doing tasks they can not claim.
  8. #1. At first I was very unsure on just how to earn TPE. I slowly learned how. I've gained confidence creating graphics and now am writing a bit. One frustrating thing is the Career point tasks nowhere does it say in the fine print certain tasks are for s70 players or newer. I've done two career tasks that were time frame accurate for by player but were rejected due to my player being s69. So work completed but no tpe. This needs to be fixed. Say you open " Prospect scouting report" it should say in the guidelines s70 or newer. So guys like me dont waste our time completing these career tasks. Beyond frustrated when it comes to this. #2. I am just a member of this league. No intentions of trying out another league. Im content here. #3. I was released by the Saskatoon Wild so I'm guess I can mention ex teammates or ex management. 100% @Elmebeck he has answered more of my questions than I could even keep track of. @Tagger joined the Wild late in the season but he has been very helpful sharing his vast knowledge. #4. I'm sitting below 200 TPE. I'm going to make the jump after next season and should be in the 300 tpe range or higher. #5. Scoring my first hatrick was pretty special. #6. The Hectanooga Hooligans from middle of nowhere Nova-Scotia , Canada or the Etobicoke Eclipse in Ontario canada. Logo for hooligans would be a mischievous hooded character. Logo for the Eclipse would be an angry sun.

  10. Prospect Scouting Report RJ Jubis HEIGHT: 6'4" WEIGHT: 222LBS SHOOTS: LEFT POSITION: LW/C GAMES PLAYED: 72 GOALS: 29 ASSISTS: 33 POINTS: 62 RJ Jubis jumped onto scouts radars when he was signed by the Saskatoon Wild of the VHLM. He joined the team for the 68th season of the league's conception. The Wild finished in 10th place out of 11 teams. Winning only 21 games out of the 72 game season. OFFENSE: GRADE B+ Jubis could not have started his VHLM rookie season any slower. At 44 games into the season he had scored only 6 goals and was a -13. Jubis was holding a 2nd line spot at the time. He was being heavily outscored by his linemates on the 3rd line. Rumours were that he would be dropped to the 3rd or 4th line. Before any of that could happen Jubis started scoring and scoring some more. He had earned himself a spot on the 1st line and was playing top minutes with time on the powerplay. Jubis scored 23 goals through the final 28 games of the season. Jubis has proved that he can be a threat from anywhere on the ice. Known for his quik release Jubis also has power to his shots. He scored his 21st goal of the season from a center ice slap shot that surprised the goalie. Some analysts project Jubis to finish in the 60 goal 100 points range next season. I feel this is a tad optimistic but it is a possibility. DEFENSE: GRADE B Jubis not originally known for his defensive side of the game. Has established himself as a great two-way forward. The Wild finished the season with a whopping 299 goals against. That was good for 4.15 goals against per game. This is probably the biggest contributor to why Saskatoon was only able to win 21 games. Jubis through his own worst slump had fell to a -26 halfway through the season. He was able to turn his season around finishing the year a +4. The Wild struggled defensively finishing the year with a goal differential of -73. Jubis got praise from his coaches for never giving up on a play. His willingness to back check and play proper positioning away from the puck sets him apart from other comparable prospects. It is unknown in what city RJ Jubis will be lacing up his skates next season. He has stated that he really enjoyed his time in Saskatoon in previous press conferences. Whether returning to northern Canada next season would be an option is still unclear. A revamped Saskatoon roster is beginning to look like a cup contender. Both the VHLM and VHL drafts have yet to take place. Jubis is now projected to go in the 1st round of the VHL draft and top 3 in VHLM draft. Hockey insiders say Jubis will not be ready to make the jump to the VHL next season. He will report to his VHLM team. One more season with solid growth could help him solidify a full time spot in the VHL the following season.
  11. I had tried that but it was not working. I had to edit the file before copying it and eventually got it to work. Thanks
  12. Rookie Profile RJ JUBIS Height: 6'4" Weight: 222Lbs. Birthplace:Yarmouth, Nova- Scotia Intro: RJ Jubis was signed as a free agent by the Saskatoon Wild in the off season. Season 68 was his rookie season in the VHLM. It was filled with many highs and lows for the rookie. A severely slow start plagued Jubis. He started the season on the Wild's 2nd line. Unable to consistently produce offensively he remained there for the first half of the season. He propelled himself onto the 1st line with a sudden spark in production. Jubis finished his rookie season playing all 72 games with 29 goals,33 assists 62 points. PROS Quik release: Jubis has established himself as a player with one of the best shots in the VHLM. He has practised intensely on perfecting his shot. You could catch him daily staying after practice working on his release. He uses an unorthodox style of training. Jubis will try mock game scenarios and release his shot from different angles. Whatever the young man is doing it is working. He finished the season with 23 goals in the final 28 games. A pace that would have seen the rookie score 60 goals had he maintained that production all season. Two-way hockey: He is a natural winger and has played the wing his entire career. Once he arrived in Saskatoon there was a need for someone to play the center ice position. Jubis willingly took on the role. Critics at the time thought he would fail and would breakdown defensively. He definitely proved them wrong. He showed everyone he was just as good away from the puck as he was with it on his stick. Jubis finished the season a modest +4. Let's dig deeper tho, his +/- is actually impressive considering the Wild had a goal differential of -73. This is a two-way forward that will make you pay on both ends of the ice. Discipline: RJ Jubis is a big body measuring 6'4" and tipping the scales at over 220Lbs. For a larger player who throws his body around he has managed to stay out of the penalty box. Through 72 games he only raked up 34 PIM's. This disciplined play has impressed all of his coaches in Saskatoon. CONS Checking: This is kind of a double edged sword. Going back to him being very disciplined. Jubis may play too disciplined and causes him to play too cautious. Jubis's coaches keep telling him he can use his body more. A few well timed checks could create more space for plays offensively. Passing: Jubis has the ability to be an elite playmaker. The skill set is there for him to setup teammates. He has shown flashes of greatness when it comes to his passing. What is holding him back is his shoot first mentality. If he looked for more passing plays he would collect more total points. Injury: A injury that shortened his second year of his major junior career is concerning. Jubis was not wearing a visor at the time. He took a deflection off a slap shot that hit him in the eye. This was in the 3rd period of a game. He missed the remainder of that game and 34 games after that. Surgery was required to repair a damaged retina. The surgery was successful and Jubis's vision did fully return. He now wears a visor but one wrong hit directly to that eye could cause vision damage. Summary RJ Jubis is anxiously waiting with his fate unknown as the upcoming VHL and VHLM drafts have yet to occur. He is projected to be selected late in the 1st round or early in the 2nd round in the VHL draft. In the VHLM draft he is projected as a top 3 pick in the 1st round. This is a well rounded goal scorer who should impress his new team regardless of who that becomes. Rookie Profile $$.pdf

  14. #1. I'm getting stir crazy but excited for the drafts. #2. I have been in discussions with two VHL teams but I won't release their names hehe. With both seeming to be seriously interested tho. I unfortunately have not done a media spot on the draft. #3. I truly believe I have a 60+ goal 100pts season coming up. Bold prediction i know but I am confident. #4.. I will use the off season to grow and build as much as possible. I will spread the tpe on some of my focus points: speed, scoring and defense. #5. I am surprised Las vegas is down. I had predicted them winning it all in a previous press conference. #6. I am surprised the calgary wranglers got swept. I'm not sure who will win. I also thought Riga would possibly beat Malmo but it's looking less likely.
  15. 1. I'm not sure if there was anything different we could have done. It was a season filled with growing pains. I would have liked to contend for a playoff spot. 2. me lol RJ Jubis 3. Continue with a balanced build with a focus on speed and scoring. 4. All depends on the upcoming draft. 5. I do see a 100pts season for him again tho 6. um gold no blue ok fine gold
