With the 31st overall pick in the S68 VHLM Dispersal Draft, the Mississauga Hounds took a chance on 17 year-old Swedish left winger Patrik Tallinder.
Tallinder, who is eligible for the S69 VHL Entry Draft, played in the SuperElit for Djurgardens IF U20 last year. He is currently ranked 17th among S69 draftees, and he is hoping to prove his worth this year in his VHLM rookie season with Mississauga.
The Stockholm native aims to play in a scoring role for the Hounds, given that offense is his biggest strength, although he says that his biggest goal for S68 is to improve the defensive aspects of his game.
Patrik Tallinder joins an impressive draft class from Mississauga, which includes Brock Louth (191 TPE), Jerry Wang (149 TPE) and Guy Sasakamoose (69 TPE) in the first three rounds. They all hope to get off to a quik start this season, and make a real run for the Founder’s Cup. With the season just about to kick off, we will see if they're capable of doing so.
