  1. Thanks! I’m happy you like the series, and the feedback you’ve given it has helped a lot.
  2. Well, it's theme week, and the theme is unsung heroes. Provided my lack of creativity and my enjoyment making this series, we're back here again to talk about S70 draftees. But not just any draftees; the unsung heroes of the S70 draft so far. These are players who I feel have quietly made cases for themselves to be selected perhaps higher than most might expect. Now, enough with the talking, here are this week's rankings: Mikko Lahtinen 1 Edwin THE Encarnacion 1 Shawn Glade Jr - Odin Omdahl - Jacques Lafontaine - Lewis Dawson - Chad Magnum 1 Damien Wolfe 1 Iangenere Risteneen - Jimothy Frost New A dethroning has occurred! I feel that Lahtinen has been consistently earning more TPE than Encarnacion lately, hence the switch. Chad Magnum continues to steadily rise, and Jimothy Frost reenters the top 10 after a 2 week absence. Stats Name Goals Name Assists Name Points Odin Omdahl 40 Shawn Glade Jr 78 Shawn Glade Jr 112 Mikko Lahtinen 39 Edwin THE Encarnacion 73 Edwin THE Encarnacion 99 Shawn Glade Jr 34 Odin Omdahl 58 Odin Omdahl 98 Gabriel Gutzwiler 32 Mikko Lahtinen 45 Mikko Lahtnen 84 Iangenere Risteneen 29 Iangenere Risteneen 42 Iangenere Risteneen 71 Leon Gutzwiler 27 Leon Gutzwiler 39 Leon Gutzwiler 66 Edwin THE Encarnacion 26 Teddy Smith 39 Gabriel Gutzwiler 63 Owen Kaitanaq 19 Kyle Andersen 36 Kyle Andersen 54 Kyle Andersen 18 Gabriel Gutzwiler 31 Teddy Smith 48 Jimothy Frost 17 Jimothy Frost 30 Jimothy Frost 47 Name Save % Jacques Lafontaine .900 Jaxx Hextall .871 Aleksandr Aleksandrov .863 Jacob buchholz .858 Jack Goff .852 News - Mikko Lahtinen maxed out in TPA this week, hitting the VHLM limit of 250 - Odin Omdahl hit 200 TPE this week. - Gabriel Gutzwiler hit 100 TPE this week. - Mikko Lahtinen earned the most TPE this week, with 26. Profiles Now, to the part that relates to theme week. Here are my 3 unsung heroes for the S70 Draft class: Kyle Andersen - D - 99 TPE From what I've seen, there hasn't been a ton of hype surrounding Kyle Andersen, which I cannot explain. Currently my 11th ranked prospect, he has quietly developed into a first round talent in my eyes. He has been almost a point per game as a defenseman in Philly this year, and has produced nicely at both ends of the rink, being a +31. Although his offensive game could be polished more, I believe Andersen will become an effective VHL defenseman, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the top 10 come draft time. Jared Spaz - RW - 82 TPE Spaz has been earning TPE at rates on par with the top prospects since he joined the league, yet because he joined a bit later, he is not considered one of them. Expect him to continue rising in the rankings, where he already sits at 14 for me, and potentially force himself into first round talks. The Italian winger is a responsible two-way winger with some notable scoring instincts to go along with it. He is great with the puck in all situations that present themselves to him. Despite this, his skating is a little behind the rest of his dynamic game. I'm excited to see how Spaz does through his career. Justin Graves - RW - 76 TPE Justin Graves suffers from the same problem as Jared Spaz, where he joined later than most of his contemporaries, yet is quickly catching up. The 22 year old has a great mind for the game, and sees the ice very well. He is smart in his zone, and is a sensational passer in the offensive zone. Although the points haven't necessarily come rolling in for Graves, I would expect to see them shoot up sooner, rather than later. He has shown immense potential, and I believe he is definitely one to watch in the draft this season.
  3. 1. I’m really happy we were the ones to do it. 2. Forwards: Tallinder-Wright-Rice Defence Clarke-Davis Goalie Spyro 3. They’re a good team, and I guess some teams just have your number. I feel like we’re overall a better team, but they’re finding ways to win. 4. I’d put frost in. The guy is 6’8”, it should come naturally for him. 5. Probably during my VHL draft, when me, Sasakamoose and Rice went in the first round. It was fun seeing everyone’s names go off the board and congratulating them. 6. cxsquared for GM, because he has experience with the hounds and as an AGM, and for the AGM position I’d have Spyro, because he’s always helping out with stat and overall reminders in the locker room.
  4. Thanks! This is sick
  5. With the season more than half over, and this series beginning just before it, the first S70 Draft Profiles seems like a long time ago. I figured it would be interesting to return to my first installment, and see what's changed since then. Here are my rankings from this week, and then from 6 weeks ago: Edwin THE Encarnacion - Mikko Lahtinen - Shawn Glade Jr - Odin Omdahl - Jacques Lafontaine - Lewis Dawson - Damien Wolfe - Chad Magnum 2 Iangenere Risteneen 1 Gabriel Gutzwiler 1 First week: Mikko Lahtinen - Current Rank: 2 Edwin THE Encarnacion - Current Rank: 1 Jacques Lafontaine - Current Rank: 5 Odin Omdahl - Current Rank: 4 Dylan Carpenter - Current Rank: 34 Damien Wolfe - Current Rank: 7 Alexsandra Olsen - Current Rank: 19 Jimothy Frost - Current Rank: 11 Dick Cheezy - Current Rank: 15 Gabriel Gutzwiler - Current Rank: 10 At first glance, it becomes clear that I was wrong about Dylan Carpenter. He has been pretty inactive lately, which earns him the lower ranking. Despite this, Carpenter does have enough TPE that if he started to earn TPE every week again, he could find himself shooting up the ranks. Most of my other picks are still generally highly ranked, and Encarnacion even went up in the rankings. Before we continue looking back on the beginning of the season, there are a few things to get out of the way. Stats Name Goals Name Assists Name Points Mikko Lahtinen 34 Edwin THE Encarnacion 64 Shawn Glade Jr 91 Odin Omdahl 31 Shawn Glade Jr 63 Edwin THE Encarnacion 86 Shawn Glade Jr 28 Odin Omdahl 48 Odin Omdahl 79 Leon Gutzwiler 23 Mikko Lahtinen 39 Mikko Lahtnen 73 Gabriel Gutzwiler 22 Teddy Smith 31 Leon Gutzwiler 52 Edwin THE Encarnacion 22 Iangenere Risteneen 29 Iangenere Risteneen 50 Iangenere Risteneen 21 Leon Gutzwiler 29 Gabriel Gutzwiler 48 Jimothy Frost 14 Jimothy Frost 28 Jimothy Frost 42 Owen Kaitanaq 14 Gabriel Gutzwiler 26 Kyle Andersen 36 Derek Eriksson 13 Kyle Andersen 25 Teddy Smith 36 Name Save % Jacques Lafontaine .907 Jaxx Hextall .883 Jack Goff .863 Aleksandr Aleksandrov .860 Markour .856 News Quite a bit happened this week for the S70 Draftees, so here's a quick recap: - Maasa earned a job as the Portal News Manager. Congrats to him! - Mississauga sent Jared Spaz and Elias Ostling to Yukon. - Mexico City sent Chad Magnum to Yukon. - 13 players were created this week. - 6 right wingers were created this week. - Chad Magnum earned the most TPE for the second week in a row, with 35. - Edwin THE Encarnacion maxed out in TPA this week, hitting the VHLM limit of 250 - Shawn Glade Jr hit 200 TPE this week. - Chad Magnum, Iangenere Risteneen and Jimothy Frost each hit 100 TPE this week. If I missed anything important, let me know! Profiles Now, let's take a look at my first profiles, and see how true they've turned out to be so far. Jacques Lafontaine - G - 115 TPE The top ranked goalie in the draft, Lafontaine has burst onto the scene recently. With lightning quick reflexes and consistency that a team can rely upon night to night, the Canadian netminder is sure to be a game changer for whoever picks him up in Sunday's Dispersal Draft. Not only is he consistent on the ice, but off the ice he's been putting the work in as well, amassing a remarkable 35 TPE in the past 2 weeks. If he maintains his consistency, it wouldn't surprise me to see him challenge the current unanimous top 2. Although he hasn't challenged Encarnacion and Lahtinen, Lafontaine has been anything but disappointing. The goalie leads the VHLM in wins, save %, and GAA for goalies with 5 or more games played. He still looks to be a great goalie for whoever ends up drafting him. Jimothy Frost - C - 57 TPE My 8th ranked prospect, Jimothy Frost, is of a unique breed. Born in Antarctica, Jimothy is actually part penguin. Just as the Penguins in the NHL know a thing or two about scoring goals, the penguins in Antarctica seem to know their fair share as well. The 16 year old is young, but a gifted goal scorer with an impressive two way game to go along with it. Being a 1st generation player, the biggest thing to be determined about Frost is whether he will stay consistent in earning TPE on a weekly basis. So far, all signs point to yes, as he hasn't had one inactive week to date. To me, this is all still applicable to Frost today. He has shown immense potential, but has been a bit inconsistent as of late. If he can pick it back up, expect him to be a top 10 pick for sure. Odin Omdahl - D - 101 TPE Zepheter's player, Odin Omdahl, is one that should have all eyes on him. Trying to reach 500 content count, zepheter has been incredibly active on the forums recently, and Omdahl will be reaping the rewards from it. He is a great two way defenseman, with nice mobility and a cannon for a shot. Expect him to put up numbers in all categories in the VHLM this season, and be an important piece for whichever team lands him in the draft. I see an all-situations defender with good potential to be a powerplay quarterback. Well, zepheter got to 500 content count, and it's safe to say Omdahl has definitely turned out to be an incredible player because of it. He has put up very impressive numbers as a defenseman, and I would be shocked to see him outside the top 5 come draft time. Thanks for reading, and shoutout to all the S71's just starting up with their new players! S71 Draft Profiles will come as soon as the S70 draft passes!
  6. 1. I think we look really good, hopefully we can challenge Saskatoon for the cup this year. 2. I think we got all really good players and people to join us. I’m confident we have the right team. 3. 1st round picks all the way until I retire from the VHL. 4. Put him in net. 5. I think we stay put. Hard to catch up to Saskatoon at this point, but we’re good enough not to drop imo. 6. I’ll say Davis cause he caps out just from his job every week, and already donated.
  7. Welcome! 1. What kind of player do you see yourself becoming? 2. What are your personal goals for the near, and more distant future in the VHL? 3. If you take a look at the VHLM standings, you'll see that Saskatoon has only one loss. Do you think they'll take the cup this year, or will there be an upset? 4. What's your favourite NHL team, and why? 5. If you had to give a GM a sales pitch for yourself, how would you convince him you're worth it? 6. I saw that you wanted to play for Halifax. What would be your second choice for a future VHLM team?

  9. Welcome! If you need any help getting started, everyone here is glad to help.
  10. 1. Who wins Gold? World 2. Who wins Silver? Europe 3. Who wins Bronze? Asia 4. What player will be named tournament MVP? Block Buster
  11. Yeah man that’s my bad, there was 2 players last draft that didn’t go through the draft since they were GM players (i think it was Louth and Washington?) so I thought Glade Jr would be the same. I’m happy I was told otherwise or I would’ve looked like an idiot if you weren’t even in my top 10 when the actual draft came around.
  12. Welcome to my midseason draft profiles! I've been trying to keep improving this series, and thanks to some advice by Zepheter, I've made some new changes to it. Hopefully it makes it more interesting for everyone to read. With that said, here are my rankings for the week: Edwin THE Encarnacion - Mikko Lahtinen - Shawn Glade Jr New Odin Omdahl 1 Jacques Lafontaine 1 Lewis Dawson - Damien Wolfe 2 Iangenere Risteneen 1 Gabriel Gutzwiler 1 Chad Magnum New Chad Magnum makes his first appearance into the top 10, and Shawn Glade Jr is finally put on the rankings after I wrongfully assumed he wouldn't go through the draft as a GM player. Stats Name Goals Name Assists Name Points Mikko Lahtinen 27 Edwin THE Encarnacion 50 Edwin THE Encarnacion 70 Odin Omdahl 23 Shawn Glade Jr 32 Mikko Lahtinen 55 Edwin THE Encarnacion 20 Odin Omdahl 32 Odin Omdahl 55 Shawn Glade Jr 17 Mikko Lahtinen 28 Shawn Glade Jr 49 Jimothy Frost 13 Teddy Smith 21 Jimothy Frost 29 Gabriel Gutzwiler 12 Pierre Lacombe 19 Gabriel Gutzwiler 28 Leon Gutzwiler 12 Jimothy Frost 16 Leon Gutzwiler 25 Iangenere Risteneen 9 Gabriel Gutzwiler 16 Iangenere Risteneen 24 Felix Arvid 9 John DuBolk 16 Teddy Smith 24 Declan Polaris 9 Iangenere Risteneen 15 Pierre Lacombe 24 Name Save % Jacques Lafontaine .908 Jacob buchholz .865 Aleksandr Aleksandrov .864 Lando Lakes .851 Markour .850 News This week was a pretty quiet week for S70 Draft eligibles, but here is some quick info: - 21 players were created this week, with 14 coming from YouTube. - 9 left wingers were created this week. - imJo recruited 1 player. - Chad Magnum earned the most TPE this week, with 25. Profiles Lewis Dawson - C - 120 TPE Dawson seemingly appeared out of thin air a few weeks ago, skyrocketing up my rankings and earning TPE at a very impressive rate. He has not slowed down yet, earning 17 TPE this week. The Greenland native is an offensive machine, with elite skating, shooting and passing abilities. He is strong in the faceoff dot, but the rest of his defensive game is a work in progress. Sometimes Dawson can lose track of his man in the defensive zone, which can lead to chances for the other team. Despite this, his offensive upside more than makes up for it, and I could see him becoming a really strong scoring center in the future. Aleksandr Aleksandrov - G - 82 TPE Aleksandrov has proven to be a reliable goalie with exceptional quickness and poise. The 17 year old sits third amongst all S70 goalies in save percentage because of his ability to react extremely fast to anything coming his way, and do so in a calm fashion that leaves weak goals and rebounds as a rarity. He is fairly consistent in earning TPE, usually earning around 4 to 8 per week. This has also been over the time period of close to two months, so it is clear to me that Aleksandr will keep his consistency moving forward, whereas someone else could earn a lot of TPE in a week or two, but could disappear the week after. Owen Kaitanaq - LW - 76 TPE Owen Kaitanaq has seen a great start to his VHLM career, with 18 points in just 26 games. Currently my 15th ranked prospect, he is a hard working two-way winger with incredible goal scoring prowess. While Owen could round out his offensive game a bit more with some improved puck skills and passing ability, the tools are there for a very effective scoring winger in the VHL. He is still fairly new, so with consistency, expect to see him climb up the rankings. So far, his numbers look great, so it will be interesting to see how they go up as his TPE rises as well. The upside here is definitely intriguing. Thank you all for reading, and make sure to come back next week!
  13. 1. Yeah, I mean it’s bound to end at some point, right? 2. 50-17-5 3. I appreciate the praise, and I think what makes my player successful is my consistency earning TPE week to week. He’s hit a bit of a rough patch offensively lately, so hopefully he can start contributing more again soon, especially when playoff time comes around. 4. I think we’re just a team who isn’t overly physical, and win with skill rather than brute force. 5. We just have to get pucks in deep. 6. Well I’d want to go see the animals in australia and maybe avoid snakes, cause those are a yikes and a half.
  14. Seattle Prague Moscow Riga
  15. 1. I feel good about it, the more the merrier. 2. I think we can catch Mexico, but Saskatoon will be a challenge. 3. If I could choose any team, I would just stick with Mississauga tbh. We’ve got a great team and a good environment. 4. Probably to build a statue of Rice with the cup, in preparation for the moment our captain inevitably holds it this year. 5. Not much of a TV/Movie guy, but prison break is solid. 6. The Sasakamoose vs Summers one is really good, I can’t remember if cx used it as his sig or if Summers did though.
