Founders Cup Finals GM 5: Mississauga Hounds vs. Saskatoon Wild
Patrik Tallinder replied to VHL Games's topic in S69 Games
Congrats Saskatoon! Was really hoping to end of my time in Mississauga with a championship, but we had a great season overall. Shoutout to all my teammates, especially @Krice13 who’s been here the past 2 seasons with me. Can’t wait to see how well everyone does in the VHL. Also there can never be enough good things said about @GustavMattias and @Berocka, they have been great to me. Go Hounds! -
S70 Draft Profiles - Part 9
Patrik Tallinder replied to Patrik Tallinder's topic in VHL.com Articles
This week you were actually at 11, so you’re really close! It doesn’t say in the article because it’s just my top 10, but it shows the full rankings on my spreadsheet. Keep grinding and you’ll likely make it in! -

Well, as the playoffs come to a close, the anticipation for the S70 VHL Draft will be ramping up. This is something I am personally looking forward to as well because I have been following the players in the draft for 9 weeks now, with my "S70 Draft Profiles" series. But once that wraps up, my focus will shift to the S71 Draft. While I haven't paid much attention to it up to this point, I have made a page for them in my TPE earning spreadsheet for prospects. If you click this link, it will bring you to the S70 page. There should be a S71 page that you can choose on the bottom of the screen, and that will show you all the TPE earning of the players who have earned 40 or more TPE at the time of December 31st. Here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z3UmjHIkmoBNTRdw8dgQdp4kOVhVLVRgPADZOndKJUY/edit?usp=sharing Now, let's get to some early scouting reports on some of the top prospects. I won't go too in-depth, as I'll be saving that for my S71 Draft Profiles. Goalies Stone Wolski - 173 TPE Currently the top goalie in the draft, Wolski has started off his career in impressive fashion. In the playoffs, he lead Mexico City to the semi finals, putting up an .896% save percentage. He started off with a healthy 80 base TPE, and has not let that create any complacency in his work ethic. In his 3 full weeks since entering the league, he has earned 69 TPE, averaging out to 23 TPE per week. Joakim Bruden - 111 TPE A fellow Swedish prospect, Bruden is a first generation goalie who has been catching up to his competition remarkably quickly. Starting with just 30 base TPE, he has earned 62 TPE in his 3 full weeks since joining. In 8 regular season games, he posted a .897% save percentage with Ottawa. He is certainly someone I will have my eye on as he progresses. Defensemen Roque Davis - 185 TPE Davis has had an incredible start to his career, putting up 21 points in 25 regular season games, and following it up with 9 playoff points in 10 games so far with Mississauga. The Hounds defenseman is a great two way player with a great feel for the game in all areas. In his 3 full weeks so far, he has earned an incredible 93 TPE. He looks to be one of the top prospects in this draft without question. Hugh Jass - 139 TPE Jass is a very talented Canadian defenseman who plays a smooth, balanced game. Playing on a weaker Houston team, he put up over a point per game as a rookie defenseman, with 27 points in 23 games. Look for him to be an absolute force this coming season. He also earned 74 TPE in his 3 full weeks so far in his career. Forwards Erik Killinger - 194 TPE The current TPE leader of the draft, Killinger has had a rather slow offensive start to his career, mostly due to a more sheltered role with Saskatoon. Even though the points haven't been coming in bunches yet, they are bound to soon, with the rates at which he is earning TPE. He has earned a staggering 97 TPE in his 3 full weeks to date, and already has 22 this week. Expect to see the winger explode in production as soon as in the finals for Saskatoon. Kyl Oferson - 192 TPE Oferson had an alright start to his career, with 10 goals and 14 points in his first 25 regular season games, but has absolutely reached another level in the playoffs, with 7 goals and 9 points in just 10 games. He is a sniper at heart and finds his success in scoring goals, and lots of them. This is not to the detriment of his two way game though, as he plays responsibly as well. He has a draft leading 98 TPE earned through his first 3 full weeks, and has added another 20 so far this week. The S71 Draft looks to be a strong one, and I look forward to covering it. My Draft Profiles series will be in the VHL.com Articles section as soon as the S70 Draft concludes, and I hope a few people who read this will take the time to read them once they begin.

S70 Draft Profiles - Part 9
Patrik Tallinder replied to Patrik Tallinder's topic in VHL.com Articles
I plan to cover S71, but I will be revisiting S70 to see who came out as the best players, and who I was right or wrong about in my predictions. -
Happy New Years, folks! Hope 2020 has started off well for you guys. As usual, it's time to take a look at this draft's players and rankings. Here's my current top 10: Edwin THE Encarnacion 1 Mikko Lahtinen 1 Odin Omdahl - Jacques Lafontaine 1 Shawn Glade Jr 1 Chad Magnum - Iangenere Risteneen - Lewis Dawson - Kyle Andersen - Jared Spaz New Jared Spaz makes his first appearance in the top 10, and Encarnacion retakes his position at number 1. I also believe this is the first week Damien Wolfe has not been in the top 10. Like I said last week, I have a TPE earning spreadsheet I would love if you guys checked out. I've updated both the S70 and S71 pages, so if there's any S71 draftees who would like to see the TPE earning so far in their draft class, feel free to do so. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z3UmjHIkmoBNTRdw8dgQdp4kOVhVLVRgPADZOndKJUY/edit?usp=sharing Stats Name Goals Name Assists Name Points Odin Omdahl 48 Edwin THE Encarnacion 94 Shawn Glade Jr 129 Mikko Lahtinen 44 Shawn Glade Jr 91 Edwin THE Encarnacion 122 Iangenere Risteneen 39 Odin Omdahl 68 Odin Omdahl 116 Shawn Glade Jr 38 Iangenere Risteneen 52 Mikko Lahtnen 93 Gabriel Gutzwiler 35 Mikko Lahtinen 49 Iangenere Risteneen 91 Leon Gutzwiler 34 Leon Gutzwiler 47 Leon Gutzwiler 81 Edwin THE Encarnacion 28 Teddy Smith 45 Gabriel Gutzwiler 73 Owen Kaitanaq 24 Kyle Andersen 44 Kyle Andersen 65 Kyle Andersen 21 Gabriel Gutzwiler 38 Jimothy Frost 56 Jimothy Frost 20 Jimothy Frost 36 Derek Eriksson 55 Name Save % Jacques Lafontaine .900 Jaxx Hextall .871 Aleksandr Aleksandrov .863 Jacob buchholz .858 Jack Goff .852 News - Mikko Lahtinen hit 300 TPE this week. - Odin Omdahl hit the VHLM cap of 250 TPA this week. - Justin Graves hit 100 TPE this week. - Chad Magnum earned the most TPE this week, with 31. - Edward THE Encarnacion leads the S70 class with 14 playoff points - Mikko Lahtninen leads the S70 class with 5 playoff goals - Kyle Andersen leads the S70 class with 10 playoff assists Profiles Jack Feriancek - C - 93 TPE Feriancek is a player who has been earning steadily and nicely ever since entering the league. With 61 TPE earned over the past 5 weeks (averaging out as 12 TPE per week), he has proven to me that he could be a steal in this draft. Although the offense wasn't coming as much in the regular season, the American center's scoring talent really came through in the playoffs, scoring 3 goals and 5 points in 6 games. He has a very balanced build, but his scoring and faceoff ability really stick out. In the regular season, Feriancek posted an impressive 55% win rate in the faceoff dot. I feel like he could end up being a sneaky good pick for the team that drafts him. Aleelee Kiak - RW - 113 TPE Since joining the league, Kiak has been increasing and increasing the rate at which they earn TPE. The young winger has great offensive tools that are sure to shine in next year's VHLM season, being fantastic vision and a deadly shot that provides zero predictability for opposing defensemen. Defensive awareness could be improved a bit, but overall Kiak is a great player who will be dangerous as soon as the puck is on their stick. 28 points in 52 games is a solid start to a VHLM career, and those numbers are sure to skyrocket next year. It's unfortunate Houston didn't make the playoffs, because I would have liked to see the forward's offensive talent shine on the biggest stage in the VHLM. Ike Bennett - LW - 77 TPE Ike Bennett is probably the biggest hidden gem in this season's draft. He joined in S70's last week of eligibility, and has earned TPE at a nice rate so far. Because he has been in the league for such little time, many people he is outproducing in TPE earning every week are well above him in total TPE, and therefore he receives much less attention than them. With 17 points in 27 regular season games and 4 points in 5 playoff games, his offensive production has also been very good for just joining. He plays a very flashy game, with elusive speed and a quick release that have fooled VHLM defenseman and goalers so far in his career. His defensive game definitely needs a lot of work, but the potential is very much there.

1. Everyone seemed to be contributing, and no one really stole the show. I like the depth that shows. 2. I think we take it in 6. 3. Omdahl is one that you really need to watch out for, and I think he could be an important factor in this series. 4. I’m hoping we can shut down Summers, as he can be a very dynamic player as well. 5. If I’m gonna fight, I might as well get a good player from Mexico City off the ice for five minutes as well. I’ll go with Walker. 6. I’m gonna say Spyro holds it down in net and steals the show. -
MacKinnon is Rice, but besides that all correct!

Happy holidays everyone! With the season ending just a couple days ago, it's now time for the players in the playoffs to take center stage and prove their worth the VHL GM's. Right now, this is where my rankings stand: Mikko Lahtinen - Edwin THE Encarnacion - Odin Omdahl 1 Shawn Glade Jr 1 Jacques Lafontaine - Chad Magnum 1 Iangenere Risteneen 2 Lewis Dawson 2 Kyle Andersen New Damien Wolfe 2 Lots of moving around this week. I'm really not sure if Lahtinen or Encarnacion is the better pick right now, but you can't go wrong with either one. I've made a new TPE earning spreadsheet that I would really appreciate if you guys checked out. It shows a lot about consistency in earning TPE, and how much someone has earned in a specific amount of time. There's also a page on S71 draftees. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z3UmjHIkmoBNTRdw8dgQdp4kOVhVLVRgPADZOndKJUY/edit?usp=sharing Anyways, onto the stats. Stats Name Goals Name Assists Name Points Odin Omdahl 48 Edwin THE Encarnacion 94 Shawn Glade Jr 129 Mikko Lahtinen 44 Shawn Glade Jr 91 Edwin THE Encarnacion 122 Iangenere Risteneen 39 Odin Omdahl 68 Odin Omdahl 116 Shawn Glade Jr 38 Iangenere Risteneen 52 Mikko Lahtnen 93 Gabriel Gutzwiler 35 Mikko Lahtinen 49 Iangenere Risteneen 91 Leon Gutzwiler 34 Leon Gutzwiler 47 Leon Gutzwiler 81 Edwin THE Encarnacion 28 Teddy Smith 45 Gabriel Gutzwiler 73 Owen Kaitanaq 24 Kyle Andersen 44 Kyle Andersen 65 Kyle Andersen 21 Gabriel Gutzwiler 38 Jimothy Frost 56 Jimothy Frost 20 Jimothy Frost 36 Derek Eriksson 55 Name Save % Jacques Lafontaine .900 Jaxx Hextall .871 Aleksandr Aleksandrov .863 Jacob buchholz .858 Jack Goff .852 News - Edwin THE Encarnacion hit 300 TPE this week. - Jacques Lafontaine hit 200 TPE this week - Jaxx Hextall, Dick Cheezy, Leon Gutzwiler, Derek Eriksson, Jared Spaz and Kyle Andersen reached 100 TPE this week. - Odin Omdahl earned the most TPE this week, with 40. Profiles Chad Magnum - C - 185 TPE Chad Magnum is one of those players who have, at some point, burst onto the scene. The difference with him is that he still hasn't stopped. A strong, almost barbaric scorer, Magnum is able to use his strength to his advantage by willing his way to the net seemingly every shift. If his team doesn't have it, he's after the puck immediately, forechecking hard and delivering some huge hits, of which he had 149 this season. He is reliable on the ice and off the ice, with his remarkable consistency in earning high amounts of TPE each week. Edwin THE Encarnacion - D - 307 TPE One of the unanimous top 2 up to this point, Encarnacion has put up incredible numbers as a defenseman in the VHLM this season. His 94 assists puts him at third in the entire league, and his +92 (you read that right) puts him at second in the league behind his teammate Danny DeYeeto. The 50 year old is an amazing two way defenseman, with little to no flaws in it. He is sure to be a star in the VHL, and it will be fun to watch. Derek Eriksson - RW - 131 TPE Eriksson is a player who I feel doesn't get enough recognition, and one that I felt badly about not including in my unsung heroes edition from last week. He has quietly put up nearly a point per game on Philly, and gotten into the top 10 for points in the draft class. My 12th ranked prospect, Eriksson has a lot of offensive upside with great scoring instincts and puck handling, but not to the detriment of his great defensive game, putting up a nice +18 on the season.

1. I’m happy with it, I feel like we did well overall and got better as the season went along. 2. I’m a little nervous for Mexico City, because they’ve had our number recently. I still have confidence that we can beat them though. We’ve also shown that we can beat Saskatoon, so the finals will be interesting should we make it. 3. I think the 250 cap definitely helped because it created a bigger divide between weaker and stronger players. 4. Eating too much. 5. I’m not sure, I feel like it would be fun, but then I might have to stop making my draft articles since it would be smarter to keep the information for my team rather than give it out to the public. 6. I’m planning on moving up, which is kinda bittersweet cause I’ve only ever been a hound since I joined. -
