  1. Answers 1. Yes and no. There were some moments where I thought it was getting a bit out of reach, but I still never lost faith that we could still be the 1 of the top teams in the VHL. 2. I think Viktor Jensen and Jacob Stone have proven to be our biggest driving forces and continued to dominate this season like they both have been for some time now. 3. I’m fairly pleased with how Ash Sparks has performed. Even if his save% isn’t as high as I hoped, it’s still pretty good and I can’t complain too much. 4. Chocolate brownie ice cream 5. I’m a leafs fan but I’m also rooting for all the Canadian teams to go far in these playoffs! 6. Surprisingly they are going really good so far so I’m kinda lowkey hyped over it
  2. Malmo Nighthawks Captain, Ash Sparks (#39), earns his 5th shutout of the season and 175th career win as a Nighthawk- in tonight’s game against the HC Davos Dynamo (final score: 7-0 for Malmo). ️
  3. Answers: 1. I’d say we are near the top! If we aren’t the best EU team, then we are at least in the top 3 for sure. 2. I knew that LA was going to take a bit of a step back, but I really didn’t predict such a big downfall after the run they had last season. 3. I’m excited to see us go deep in the playoffs- hopefully even win the Continental Cup! 4. I’m going with the games we won last night. Sparks had back to back shutouts in games that we got out-shot, 1 of said games being a 49 save shutty in a 1-0 W! 6. As someone who has played all consoles at some point in time.. PC has been really really good but I do miss some things that only Xbox had to offer. PS is still nice as well, but I have to give it to PC for it’s superiority. 7. I like the branding for a lot of teams in the VHL and in the M! Over the years my tastes have changed, but I think I’ve always seen Malmo and Prague as some of the best designs. Also, both teams have such nice jerseys and colour palettes!
  4. YES!! I love the jerseys and logo!! You definitely nailed it for this theme week @LucyXpher Great work!!
  5. The Malmo Nighthawks are a franchise with a deep history of having some of the best goaltenders to ever play in the VHL. Said history contains legends like Michael Johnson and even the Hall of Famer, Artem Tretiak, alongside many other very talented and successful goaltenders throughout the ages. One day I’d like to maybe take a deep dive into everyone’s history, but first I’d like to celebrate the fact that Ash Sparks has become #2 in All-time Wins for Nighthawks goalies. I’d personally say the major categories for goalies to covet within their respective team’s record books are the following; 1) Total W/L/OTL record, emphasis on the amount of Wins and how quickly it took said goalie to accumulate them. 2) Save % and GAA, typically not really looked at until you reach the games played threshold. Lastly 3) Total amount of Shutouts, which may be the most coveted of all. Ash Sparks currently sits 4th in Games Played (283 GP), closing in on Boris Tzesar (289 GP), and Michael Johnson (324 GP), but the all-time leader Artem Tretiak (409 GP) may be just out of reach. Ash Sparks sits 2nd all-time in shutouts with 20 so far, and still has time to catch the leader, Michael Johnson, who has 26 shutouts to his name. Now finally this- after last night’s Wins against D.C. and London, Ash Sparks has become the 2nd all-time leader in Wins with an impressive career record of 160-90-30 so far. He passed Michael Johnson (159-129-31) and once again like Sparks has done many times before, was the fastest to reach this milestone compared to all the Nighthawks goaltenders before him. It may be safe to say that Tretiak’s 409 games played in a Nighthawks’ jersey, and their W/L/OTL record of 222-151-27 may stand the test of time, but I would certainly like to believe that the legacy Ash Sparks has created will be a very tough close 2nd for a long time. Ash Sparks may even be looked back upon as 1 of the greater goaltenders that the Nighthawks has ever seen. (348 words)
  6. Most of the work on this was done for last season’s graphic, but I did have to add and edit a few things due to roster changes. Home Away GO NIGHTHAWKS!! ️
  7. Malmo Nighthawks reveal alternate “Blackout” Jersey for S93. (signed by team Captain, Ash Sparks) GO NIGHTHAWKS!! -️
  8. At least you keep getting picked to be on the team @animal74 and have been stellar every single time! This was Ash Sparks’ last chance to play for his country or in this tournament at all, and he didn’t get selected by anyone (and he was certainly 1 of the top goalies this season ) so be grateful cuz it could have been a lot worse lol
  9. A massive feat that every goalie dreams of reaching in the VHL! Congratz dude!!
  10. This was an excellent read!! Fantastic work with this playoff preview @LucyXpher! Give ‘em hell in the playoffs! Go Bulls!!
  11. Aww thanks dude! I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my ramblings bro!!
  12. Thanks bro I appreciate you for not letting me give up
  13. Thank you so much! I always appreciate having your support~ and I’m also rooting for your player too my friend!
  14. Oh dude I agree with you our team definitely has many superstars and Viktor Jensen is most certainly 1 of our brightest!
  15. To follow suit with many of my other teammates, this Media Spot is almost exactly as advertised in the title. The only change now, is that we have not only clinched the victory cup, but we have in fact- secured it. In a historic run, almost surpassing the Nighthawks’ former best season record, the top team in the VHL would land 1 win shy in their attempt to break the old record of a 53 win season. As unfortunate as that is, the Malmo Nighthawks still finished off the season 1st overall in the VHL with a 52-14-6 record, accounting for 110 points (12 points ahead of the next 3 teams who all tied with 98) which made them the only team this season to break the 100 point barrier. 1 of the top stories coming out of the Nighthawks amazing season, is a lesser looked at detail that many across the league failed to notice. Assistant Captain Viktor Jensen (Center, #12) finished the season with 35 goals and 55 assists for a team leading 90 points. This is a 10 goal and 5 assist jump from his previous season- making it the best season so far for “one-two” in his career. These are not the biggest story that is being taken away from his best season to date, although it is certainly impressive, because he actually finished the season with an incredible 0 PIMs! Absolutely mind boggling and he certainly deserves all of the hype and praise surrounding him for achieving such a phenomenal feat! Another top story is surrounding the team performance- more specifically how 6 out of 10 players on the Nighthawks’ roster finished over a point per game. The other teams around the league have some “superstar” talent but their depth really didn’t show up as much in comparison. Some teams are noticeably nervous at the fact that the Nighthawks seem to be the most complete team throughout their whole lineup as we head into the playoffs, and rightfully so. Another highlight this season is that Captain Ash Sparks (Goalie, #39) was fired up and played lights out this season. He managed an incredible 0.930 save%(4th), along with a 2.23 GAA(2nd), and 5 shutouts (tied 2nd) in his 64 games played. This also earned him the best winning record among goalies this season (46-13-5) and was never chased out of the crease once. This was a fantastic showing by the Nighthawks’ star goaltender, but his fierce personality and hot takes throughout the course of the season most likely haven’t won him favors. While the fans, players, and management for the Nighthawks seem to love their Captain- it’s fair to say that the rest of the league doesn’t feel the same way. League biases against Malmo and their controversial goalie/captain aside, nobody can dispute that he was a top 3 goaltender this season- along side the fact that more than half the team finished the season over a PPG. Another spicy fact seems to be surround a long term sponsorship deal between the Malmo Nighthawks and Taco Bell. Apparently there will be a new special combo available in a Taco Bell near you for a limited time, called the “Soaring to Victory” combo deal (1 Victory Cup cup included per combo)! Where you and your family can dine on 6 tacos, all loaded with an “over point per game” premium style blend of sauces and our limited time Volcanic Ash taco shells! Guaranteed to steal the show while you watch your Nighthawks soar towards the Continental Cup! (590 words)
