  1. Answers 1. I wasn’t at first and then slowly started to believe they had chance. I got my hopes up when Nylander scored, and felt crushed when the Leafs lost in OT. 2. Teno has been an incredible goaltender during the regular and post-season. I’d put my money on them making it to the HoF just like Rayz Funk did! 3. If a decently sized hockey YouTuber like Pavel Barber or SteveDangle would promote or even join the VHL, it would probably drastically change the size of the league and we would have to create several expansion teams. Questions 1. Who do you think will win between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, and how long do you think the series will go? 2.What are your top 3 fave player or goalie stats to upgrade with your TPE? 3.How are you doing so far with your VHL predictions?
  2. It’s really difficult to see Malmo’s back-to-back Victory Cups seasons end up so similar in the post-season. The Malmo Nighthawks gave found themselves losing out in the first round once again, only this time it was a 1-4 series loss to the Moscow Menace. Another thing that also makes this early exit so bitter this time around- is the fact that the Menace were immediately swept 4-0 in the next round. Our main point-producer, Viktor Jensen, managed to find 7 points (1 goal, 6 assists) in those 5 games. Jacob Stone, arguably 1 of the best defenders in the VHL, earned 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) to reach a PPG. Ash Sparks, the team’s Captain and starting goaltender, kept the games close and played way better than S92’s playoffs reaching a 0.925 save% and 2.69 GAA.. so the top guys for the Nighthawks didn’t perform too terribly overall. There wasn’t much else going for the Nighthawks sadly as nobody else was at least a PPG- and the majority of the roster was taking a bunch of penalties. Malmo managed to get multiple power play opportunities but failed to convert on most of them where Moscow was able to capitalize on theirs. There were multiple reasons as to why the Nighthawks fell short but I think the main one to point out is clearly the most obvious- F*** the Victory Cup curse. (232 words)
  3. Rookie card for Malmo’s back-up goalie, who had an unreal rookie season in the VHL @LastGoon007
  4. Answers 1. I think watching Fuuka Rask’s performance after he was traded was incredible! I already knew he was a great goalie- but he went into next gear once he arrived in Seattle. 2. If we are talking about the Coyotes, it’s tough to see them go anywhere else.. but for the sake of answering this; I’d personally like to see another Canadian team so let’s say somewhere out Easy like Nova Scotia 3. I’d try to recruit another hockey YouTuber like Steve Dangle- dude has a massive out reach and he’s got a whole podcast team that could join him as well. It could probably make the VHL explode but I don’t see the likelihood of it happening. Questions 1. If you made the playoffs; are you happy with how your team and your player are doing so far? (If you didn’t; what are your early off-season plans?) 2. If you were just granted access to teleport any point in time, but for only 5 minutes, where would you go? 3. What is your fave song right now and would you be able to use it as your VHL player’s goal anthem?
  5. S93 has come to a close after a really tight race for the top of the standings all season long. The end result was fairly unexpected for the majority of the VHL- when the Malmo Nighthawks overcame all odds and became back-to-back Victory Cup winners! (..again!) This is an impressive feat that hasn’t happened since the HC Davos Dynamo did it back in S90 and S91. The Nighthawks finished with 6 players over a point per game. Primarily led by their forward Viktor Jensen (35G 59A 94P) and defensemen Jacob Stone (25G 62A 87P) who were both dynamic offensively and defensively yet again. Malmo also seen another really strong performance from their Captain and goaltender, Ash Sparks, who put up some great numbers. Sparks finished 1st overall in Wins league wide with 45 wins (64GP: 45W-15L-4OTL), 5th in save% with a 0.924, 1st in GAA with a 2.41, and 2nd in shutouts with 6. The combined efforts throughout the entire lineup has resulted in this team achieving a rare and impressive feat- but only time will tell if the “Victory Cup curse” can be broken by this repeat Victory Cup winning Nighthawks roster. 6. Answers 1. Yes and no. There were some moments where I thought it was getting a bit out of reach, but I still never lost faith that we could still be the 1 of the top teams in the VHL. 2. I think Viktor Jensen and Jacob Stone have proven to be our biggest driving forces and continued to dominate this season like they both have been for some time now. 3. I’m fairly pleased with how Ash Sparks has performed. Even if his save% isn’t as high as I hoped, it’s still pretty good and I can’t complain too much. 4. Chocolate brownie ice cream 5. I’m a leafs fan but I’m also rooting for all the Canadian teams to go far in these playoffs! 6. Surprisingly they are going really good so far so I’m kinda lowkey hyped over it
  7. Malmo Nighthawks Captain, Ash Sparks (#39), earns his 5th shutout of the season and 175th career win as a Nighthawk- in tonight’s game against the HC Davos Dynamo (final score: 7-0 for Malmo). ️
  8. Answers: 1. I’d say we are near the top! If we aren’t the best EU team, then we are at least in the top 3 for sure. 2. I knew that LA was going to take a bit of a step back, but I really didn’t predict such a big downfall after the run they had last season. 3. I’m excited to see us go deep in the playoffs- hopefully even win the Continental Cup! 4. I’m going with the games we won last night. Sparks had back to back shutouts in games that we got out-shot, 1 of said games being a 49 save shutty in a 1-0 W! 6. As someone who has played all consoles at some point in time.. PC has been really really good but I do miss some things that only Xbox had to offer. PS is still nice as well, but I have to give it to PC for it’s superiority. 7. I like the branding for a lot of teams in the VHL and in the M! Over the years my tastes have changed, but I think I’ve always seen Malmo and Prague as some of the best designs. Also, both teams have such nice jerseys and colour palettes!
  9. YES!! I love the jerseys and logo!! You definitely nailed it for this theme week @LucyXpher Great work!!
  10. The Malmo Nighthawks are a franchise with a deep history of having some of the best goaltenders to ever play in the VHL. Said history contains legends like Michael Johnson and even the Hall of Famer, Artem Tretiak, alongside many other very talented and successful goaltenders throughout the ages. One day I’d like to maybe take a deep dive into everyone’s history, but first I’d like to celebrate the fact that Ash Sparks has become #2 in All-time Wins for Nighthawks goalies. I’d personally say the major categories for goalies to covet within their respective team’s record books are the following; 1) Total W/L/OTL record, emphasis on the amount of Wins and how quickly it took said goalie to accumulate them. 2) Save % and GAA, typically not really looked at until you reach the games played threshold. Lastly 3) Total amount of Shutouts, which may be the most coveted of all. Ash Sparks currently sits 4th in Games Played (283 GP), closing in on Boris Tzesar (289 GP), and Michael Johnson (324 GP), but the all-time leader Artem Tretiak (409 GP) may be just out of reach. Ash Sparks sits 2nd all-time in shutouts with 20 so far, and still has time to catch the leader, Michael Johnson, who has 26 shutouts to his name. Now finally this- after last night’s Wins against D.C. and London, Ash Sparks has become the 2nd all-time leader in Wins with an impressive career record of 160-90-30 so far. He passed Michael Johnson (159-129-31) and once again like Sparks has done many times before, was the fastest to reach this milestone compared to all the Nighthawks goaltenders before him. It may be safe to say that Tretiak’s 409 games played in a Nighthawks’ jersey, and their W/L/OTL record of 222-151-27 may stand the test of time, but I would certainly like to believe that the legacy Ash Sparks has created will be a very tough close 2nd for a long time. Ash Sparks may even be looked back upon as 1 of the greater goaltenders that the Nighthawks has ever seen. (348 words)
  11. Most of the work on this was done for last season’s graphic, but I did have to add and edit a few things due to roster changes. Home Away GO NIGHTHAWKS!! ️
  12. Malmo Nighthawks reveal alternate “Blackout” Jersey for S93. (signed by team Captain, Ash Sparks) GO NIGHTHAWKS!! -️
  13. At least you keep getting picked to be on the team @animal74 and have been stellar every single time! This was Ash Sparks’ last chance to play for his country or in this tournament at all, and he didn’t get selected by anyone (and he was certainly 1 of the top goalies this season ) so be grateful cuz it could have been a lot worse lol
  14. A massive feat that every goalie dreams of reaching in the VHL! Congratz dude!!
