United We Stand As The Standings Titan
Spartan replied to jacobcarson877's topic in VHL.com Articles
If London could knock either HSK or MAL into the lotto, I'd be very appreciative -
For Theme Week, most people have discussed snubbings that have already occurred in the past - generally a player not winning an award, or someone not being recognized for something in particular. I've decided to look into the future and identify players who may be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY in the imminent future. The S90 and S91 classes have been widely regarded as some of the better draft classes in recent memory. The S90 class featured talented skaters going well into the second round, although there were just a couple goalie prospects with only one considered highly enough to be a first round selection. The S91 class also appears on track to feature some phenomenal skaters at the top of the first round, but the real feature of this class is the depth of goalie prospects available. The S90 class contained 4 goalies total - the S91 class has 11 goalies with 7 of them considered active. 4 goalies in the S91 class have already surpassed TPE levels of 2 of the S90 goalies. With such a deep goalie class and limited starter slots in the VHL, there will be folks who get FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY. It's only a question of who it'll be. Let's take a look at each of the goalie prospects in the class so far: 1. Red Panda - @Lemorse7 - 217 TPE 41 GP - 32 W - 8 L - 1 OTL, 0.904 SV%, 2.16 GAA, 1 SO, 89 GA on 927 shots The first goalie to declare for the S91 class, it's no surprise that Red Panda leads the goalie class in perceived development. He also remains tied in the VHLM for wins, although his Save % only lands 8th amongst starters. His GAA ranks 3rd amongst starters, which is a small saving grace. Panda is least likely to be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY and should be the first goalie off the board, especially since teams like Warsaw, Moscow, and maybe New York in the lottery range will be looking for a goalie. 2. Olober Syko - ME - 207 TPE 39 GP - 32 W - 6 L - 1 OTL, 0.915 SV%, 1.78 GAA, 5 SO, 70 GA on 821 shots A slightly later entry to the S91 class, the metalhead turned netminder trails slightly behind Red Panda in TPE but is already far exceeding his performance on the ice. Syko currently remains in first place in the M for wins (tied), losses, save percentage, goals against, shutouts (tied) and goals against. While the argument can certainly be made that a tremendous San Diego team has sheltered Syko, it's also one of the best scenarios to nurture a prospect goaltender in. Syko may be a little FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY if he ends up being the second or third goaltender off the board, with the highest potential to be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY coming from the prospect up next in the number 3 spot. 3. Dalkr Vidarsson - @KaleebtheMighty - 193 TPE 38 GP - 23 W - 10 L - 5 OTL, 0.906 SV%, 2.34 GAA, 3 SO, 90 GA on 962 shots A goalie who declared for the S91 class around the same time as Syko, right before the S90 VHLM Dispersal Draft, Vidarsson could be one of the most significant wild cards in this draft class. Although he ranks 3rd in TPE and in the middle of the VHLM goalie pack statistically, the prospect could go anywhere between the lottery range and the end of the first round. While Warsaw, Moscow and New York were highlighted earlier as likely lottery teams that will need franchise netminders, other teams like Seattle, DC, Vancouver and LA will all have an eye on a netminder this class to replace their aging starters. Vidarsson has a high potential to be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY, especially if teams prioritize Panda and Syko in the early-mid first, leaving the Greenland native to drop into the late first or early second round. 4. David Slezak - @ShawnGlade - 183 TPE 39 GP - 23 W - 13 L - 2 OTL, 0.910 SV%, 2.32 GAA, 5 SO, 88 GA on 979 shots Slezak has quickly gone from a highly ranked, early draft eligible prospect to a dark horse in the S91 goalie race. From his performance, he's arguably the second best goalie in the VHLM but has quietly dropped into 4th place in the goalie class due to slightly slower perceived development from scouts and team personnel. While he very well could end up finishing the season as the best goalie in the VHLM, Slezak is the case study on why teams might not select the best players in the minor leagues over other players with higher potential and upside. Slezak likely has the highest chance of being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY this next class, dropping down into the 2nd round where a team like DC or VAN who lack first round picks will keep an eye on a goalie for the future. 5. Pipo Popa - @npuBeT - 140 TPE 40 GP - 7 W - 29 L - 4 OTL, 0.907 SV%, 3.94 GAA, 1 SO, 159 GA on 1706 shots (jesus) Poor Popa not only had the misfortune to be one of the latest goalies to declare for the S91 VHL draft, but also ended up in potentially the worst VHLM situation of the five goalies listed here with the struggling Houston Bulls. With literally 3 players in front of him, it's no surprise that Popa's stats are absolutely horrendous, but there's been simply no opportunity to truly evaluate the youngster's skill. Due to his late start and unfortunate VHLM situation, I predict that Pipo Popa will be the biggest goalie SNUB of the S91 VHL draft and go in the mid-late 2nd round. #JusticeforPopa

Usually only has an impact if they were already in the discussion for the Knight, and if playoff success would give them an advantage over the other candidate(s) that they were alongside.

Is it time for the Pride flag on the Discord logo to be removed?
Spartan replied to jRuutu's topic in Media Spots
I feel like every time Fong had asked for it in the past, someone stepped up to make it. Don't think someone making the logos is an issue with how many graphics folks we have. I think one of the main reasons that I heard from one of the mods/old blues (Maybe quik?) was that people complained if Pride month overlapped with some team's time to have their colors, so they stopped changing it altogether. If no team's colors got cut off, then no one could complain about having less time. -

Some of us just want cup winner server colors again tbh. Outside of the portal banner in the HOF tab, there's no clear indication anywhere else on the forum or discord as to who won championships in the league. We don't do forum banners anymore, and we stopped doing server logo colors as well for the LGBTQ logo. Also your second sentence is pretty odd, because why would you ever change it if no one asks for it? I don't think the whole "in your face" argument that this thing started with has any merit, but do you randomly decide to take down the logo for something else in a year or two if no one says anything? -
As long as the league remains to be something fun and enjoyable to me, it really doesn't feel like a chore or like work. Happy to help and work alongside other great folks in the league (and deny updates)!

And I'm on San Diego!

*Condition: Moscow receives the two higher picks between S91 MOS 1st, S91 MAL 1st, and S91 HSK 1st. HSK will receive the lowest 1st round pick of those three. @samx to accept. @BOOM Can't say enough good things about you man. I appreciate that you gave us a chance after a random rights trade a few seasons ago, and I'm really glad we were able to get you plenty of individual success and give you a good time. Hope to get you back on the team with your next player! Best of luck in Helstinky Helsinki! @samx Cheers for the fun chats and making a midseason trade happen! Best of luck the rest of the way. @rotbag Glad to get ya, hope we can have a good time as you approach retirement!

Malmo I know you really want the pick you gave us to be a lottery pick, but holy shit you guys need to step it up.

New presser questions 1. Did you have a long weekend this past weekend? What did you do with the extra day off? If you didn't have a long weekend, what would you do if you had extra days off? 2. It seems like the EU will be a real battle, as we're in a playoff spot right now. What does this say about the EU conference if a team that sold nearly all their stars is suddenly in a top 4 spot? 3. What do you think our team is doing right in order to be playing our way into a playoff spot at the moment? How do we maintain this momentum? 4. Hammar Voss has seemingly found his stride, as he's back to leading the team in points, and is 5th in leaguewide defenseman scoring. What's your final prediction for where he finishes in the leaguewide defenseman scoring race? Think he has a shot for more awards this season? 5. Do you think it was the right decision to contract the E with all the overcrowded rosters we have now? Is there a benefit to running 3+ lines and promoting realism, or should the league prioritize giving every player the max amount of minutes even if some teams end up empty? 6. Wrong answers ONLY. I'm currently waiting another 11-ish hours for Starfield to release. What am I doing to kill the time?

Congrats on your first shutout of the season (I have 2)

Since this request for more info was made public, I'll clarify that I passed judgement to Blues - as I don't solely veto trades, that power resides with commissioners with my input as financier if needed. They deliberated and asked for the trade to be vetoed, and that was to be done before the sim. I wasn't given an explanation to forward into the thread here due to Blues being busy at the time, hence why I only referred to the relevant section of the rulebook to justify the review along with a note that the Commissioners could explain the ruling.
-
@Banackock @Ricer13 As per section 6.8 of the rulebook, any trades involving a player going back to the a team they were traded for within 2 seasons and on the same contract will be reviewed by the Commissioners. After a review, the @Commissioner team has decided to veto this trade under section 6.8. Any questions can be brought up directly with the Commissioners.

Presser for the new (or old) week! 1. Well, if it wasn't apparent from our offseason moves, our on ice performance shows we're officially in a rebuild. How does your approach to the season change whether the team you're on is contending or rebuilding? 2. Rookie Jeff Lewis @nerji has exploded onto the VHL stage, currently leading all rookies in scoring, including this past season's 1st overall pick. How has he been so successful? 3. It can't be easy for Sam Tombstone @samthemancub to enter the starting goaltender role on a rebuilding team. Any words of advice or encouragement for our favorite goalie? 4. Are you a cat or dog person? Why? 5. Have you seen any movies recently? Any reviews on them if you have? Any movies you'd want to see if you haven't yet? 6. Wrong answers ONLY: What is my favorite video game?

Update the roster please, inputting rosters to the sheet.

Bit too late, you were skipped twice and DQ'd since you never joined over a week ago.
-
@Gaikoku-hito to pick a G, tag Qripll after you pick
-
@cLoWn is up to pick a G
-
@MexicanCow123 skipped, have a second pick here @STZ you're good to take a defenseman here as Cow doesn't need one. Then once you pick, rory's timer will begin for a defenseman.. Once Cow picks, cLoWn's clock will begin.
