  1. It's tough to work through depreciation, especially if it's your first time actually doing it. A big part of the challenge in the VHL about having a good player is 1. of course, getting there in the first place - it takes a lot of time and effort to get anywhere close to a top player at your position, and 2. maintaining it through depreciation. While there isn't much more to be building towards, the entire goal shifts to being able to maintain a very high level of play. Bocage is in award chats as I'm sure you've expected, and personally I think he has a good chance of winning some hardware too. He's been driving Moscow's play, and now that we seem to have 2 capable forward lines, having 2 capable defense pairings is necessary too. That's where you and Woods come in. Harrington won't be at the level of Woods or yourself for a couple seasons at least, so your goal really should be to just grind out the TPE as usual and make sure that you're cementing your place as the first pairing defenseman and a top one in the league at that too. If you're not trying to make sure you're on the top, then you're not being a true competitor. Handling depreciation is the way to lock in your legacy.
  2. Yeah maybe would have gotten somewhere but everywhere I'd have considered playing had young goalies. And frankly I've had enough of goalie, it sucks unless Simon blesses you. Which clearly, I am not
  3. Weren't they before the sliders adjustment

  5. In a way it's good that goalie became so accessible for teams, I'm sure GM's are happy that they all have franchise cornerstones in net. I wonder how many of them will get paid or kept when those young goalies get off their ELC and keep max earning with how goalie performance is now though. It's a terrible environment for users with high TPA goalies, I think only myself and @MexicanCow123 can feel it but all those young goalies are in line too.
  6. Review because people ask the dumbest trivia questions! One thing people who don't write media spots won't appreciate is the use of consistent and extensive formatting and design within a written piece. Having done mock drafts or recaps in the past where I color coordinate teams and grades, I can attest to how much time these things take. Add in spoilers, additional writing for each award winner (which, congrats to all the winners!) - it's a long process so props to you for doing it. It's always great to recognize your team players for various accomplishments and I can only wish I had that kind of motivation and patience to do it myself.
  7. Well I suppose I have a lot to cover in this vhl.com. The E is dead, we've officially completed the transition of players from the E into the M as well. We had some challenges throughout the process and a rightful amount of constructive criticism from the M GMs, but I think that the way its concluded was equitable and fair to all the players and teams involved. Curious to see how the M transforms over the next few seasons with the higher cap and extended player careers. There'll be a big adjustment to how GMs manage their teams, and an increased importance on getting players later into their careers while remaining active. The VHL draft also concluded, and we made some moves to be aggressive and move up in the draft. We had 4 first rounders heading into this draft, with one first moved for FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist around the trade deadline. After that, two of our lower firsts were moved for 2oa, where we selected River Harrington to bolster our defense corps in the future as OSCB gets into his depreciation seasons. With Moscow unable to retain Syko and Reed retiring within a few seasons, Deadpanda was selected to hopefully become a long-time goalie of the future for the organization. Lastly, defenseman Cysteine was also selected to try to develop into a well-rounded depth defenseman in the future. The Syko situation probably took some folks by surprise, seeing me retire him pretty early in his career - with a full 4 seasons remaining in his career. Frankly, the goalie market is atrocious, and we've had a massive surge of young goalies join the league over the past few seasons. Teams are also even more egregiously tanking in greater number, and there just didn't seem like any team would have a need for a max cap goalie. With teams showing that you can make a playoff run with a 500-600 TPA goalie, why try to fit in a 1200+ TPA goalie at the expense of your skater core? Overall it's disappointing that goalie value has cratered so much, and I'm just ready to settle somewhere quietly with a defenseman, just like how I started my VHL career back in 2020.
  8. 1. Cysteine was selected in the first round so I think HFX won the draft pretty easily. I liked a lot of their picks too, so made them an attractive team to join. 2. I think Halifax is well positioned for the future, maybe not so much the present. They have a lot of players, but quite a while before they develop into a league leading roster! Development is important, and I hope to develop alongside them. 3. I'm always a fan of going paintballing, builds character as you try to not get welts. 4. Honestly the blue and white is pretty iconic, maybe try to incorporate some yellow from the alternate logo for a bit of extra spice? 5. The Pittsburgh Penguins of course! But realistically, probably the Oilers, they've shown they can make a run and I think they can win it this season after a tough loss last season. 6. I'd say participating in a simulation hockey league is something I enjoy that others would consider different, or unorthodox. Certainly a niche activity.

Tough to say goodbye to some great folks in @STZ and @Schnee, and I really hope you guys enjoy your time in Calgary. Thanks to @leandrofg for the chats! Welcome @cLoWn to Moscow! Happy to be adding a quality forward and to be able to reunite you with Leandro!
  16. Hello, No fancy post, I hired @jacobcarson877 to the M so now I'm AGM-less again. Frankly I'm not totally convinced I'll need one/hire one, but I am curious to see who's interested in the role. Need to do weekly pressers because I am simply too lazy. If you'd like to learn about VHL GM'ing and get more insight into a team's operations, I'm always happy to teach someone who's interested in learning. Feel free to reply here or DM me on Discord if you're interested!
