Shortly after joining the league, Scotty Kaberle is already making a name for himself as he's currently ranked third in the league for TPE this week. His first week in the league, Kaberle joined on a Saturday so he didn't have much time to do tasks. However, he was able to do welfare, a press conference,his junior review and practice facility for 6 capped and 7 uncapped, plus the 66 base TPE he started with. Kaberle's second week is where his production really exploded. He did enough tasks to earn his weekly cap of 12 tpe, and he also got the 10 first gen TPE bonus, as well as 5 donation TPE and his prospect scouting report. Scotty is quickly emerging as one of the top first gen players in the S75 draft. He is currently ranked 27th in rjfryman's draft ranking, which is up 12 spots from last week. VHL and VHLM general managers will have to keep an eye out for him in the upcoming draft.

C - Lucas Brandt The American centre was among the top first gens from the S72 class, consisting of a few notable players such as Andrew Su, Alex Letang and Chris Hylands. Brandt went to Saskatoon after dropping in the draft and going 4th overall in S72. It was with the Wild where he would have a career season, scoring 133 points and finishing second in the league. Brandt was an extremely clutch player and this was demonstrated by his 14 game winners in the regular season. Brandt's play stalled a bit in the playoffs and he was outperformed by his linemates Komarov and Brown, but his point production was still over a point per game. Out of the first liners for Saskatoon, Brandt was their playmaker. He could make plays that other players could not. LW - Kazimir Komarov Kazimir Komarov is a player that many overlooked, so he really had to work for his spot in the VHLM. Drafted 44th overall in S71, Komarov is the biggest underdog story on this list. The Russian winger saw instant success in his first season in the league, and his main thing was consistency. In his time with the Wild he scored 112 points and 116 points, in S71 and S72, respectively. I remember one time when I asked him about his production, he simply replied, "Russian machine doesn't break". Komarov was the most integral piece for the Wild in the S72 playoffs, leading everyone by a mile with 31 points and taking home the Skylar Rift Trophy for most valuable player in the playoffs. Shortly after the cup win, Komarov retired from hockey and rode of into the sunset. RW - Timothy Brown Timothy Brown's early career did not go well for him. In fact, it was kind of a disaster. The Saskatchewan native signed with Saskatoon in S71 and scored 40 points with the Wild in his first season. After a trade by Saskatoon which saw them trade down to 4th overall and take Lucas Brandt, Brown was taken by the Halifax 21st, 2nd overall in the S72 draft. 20 games into the season, Halifax realized they would not be able to compete and Brown was shipped back to Saskatoon. Motivated by his return, Brown finished the regular season with 58 goals, leading the team. Brown was one of the Wild's key performers in the playoffs, finishing with 23 points. He received the Matt Bentz Trophy for top two-way forward at the end of the season. D - King Kruul Of the 5 skaters included in this dream team, King Kruul finished last in points with 105. However, the German winger was not known for his point production, but for his punishing defensive play. Kruul finished the year with 255 hits, which is over 3 hits per game. As well as 85 blocked shots on the year. Kruul was the only player that was not drafted to Saskatoon, signing with them out of free agency for a shot at the cup. Kruul pulled his weight in the playoffs, finishing over a point per game. King Kruul's greatest achievement was receiving the Ryan Sullivan trophy for top defenseman in the VHLM. D - Tyler Walker Tyler Walker was one of Saskatoon's three first round picks in the S72 Draft. Walker, a Canadian native, was picked 5th overall, immediately after Lucas Brandt. Tyler Walker was the youngest player out of all 5 skaters, but most certainly not the any less important. He finished 10th in points league wide for points, as well as 1st in assists, which got him the Vladimir Boomchenko Trophy. To top it all off he also finished 1st in points for defensemen. Tyler Walker finished last in points in the playoffs out of the dream team players with 19. The season after winning the cup, Walker graduated from the VHLM and went to play with the Malmo Nighthawks, with fellow Saskatoon player Grekkark Gyrfalcon. G - Grekkark Gyrfalcon Hailing from Greenland, Grekkark Gyrfalcon was probably their best player from the second he stepped foot on a VHLM ice surface. The Wild drafted him in the second round, 22nd overall. Every dream team needs a steady goaltender, and Gyrfalcon was that man for Saskatoon. He finished the regular season with a 0.898 save percentage and 37 wins in the regular season. Grekkark's save percentage was good enough for 7th in the league. His low win total was due to the skill of Saskatoon's backup goalie Cal Conway, who also saw his fair share of starts. Gyrfalcon performed well for the Saskatoon Wild in the playoffs, with a 0.890 save percentage and one shutout.

What are your thoughts on the Bears start so far? We started slow, but we've done a lot better in recent memory. What is the biggest surprise to start the season? Davos hasn't done as well as I thought they would. Will Hogan hit 1,000 SB by the end of the season? Yes, I believe he will. Will Rocket or Isabella Campbell finish with more points? Both have 4 G, 4 A and 8 PTS as of this Q. I'd guess Campbell. The player with more TPE probably has the better chance. What are your plans for Halloween? I'm not doing anything. I really hate Halloween. It's Fall time. Looking back on summer, what was your best memory or best time? My uncle's wedding was the best for me over the summer.

The real losers in this trade were anyone who picked Bridges in fantasy lol

For the first time in the S74 season, the Saskatoon Wild have lost both sims to go 0-2. Spirits were lower than usual in the locker room, with one player even jokingly asking to be traded. Assistant General Manager Timothy Brown took responsibility for the losses, claiming his coaching strategies were lackluster. The first game against Ottawa was pretty close, with the Wild putting up a close game with a 2-1 loss. Strong Jr and Vericel were unusually quiet in this game, with only a single point apiece. The second game against Mississauga went even less well for Saskatoon, with the Hounds taking the game 4-1. Saskatoon's lack of special teams sealed their fate in this game. Despite going on the powerplay 8 times, they failed to convert even a single time. Strong and Vericel were completely shut out this game, which is even more uncharacteristic. For Saskatoon to keep their winning ways alive, their stars will have to find a way to get back into form.

Calgary and Warsaw made a deal today that has turned some heads. It is perhaps the biggest trade so far this season, seeing a total of 7 pieces moved between the two teams. Let’s take a look at which players and picks switched teams.. What Calgary Received: S75 WAR 1st No offense to Alex Bridges or Arthur Dayne, but this is by far the most valuable piece for Calgary in this trade. Warsaw is currently last place in the standings, and assuming they maintain this pace the lowest this pick could end up being is 2nd overall. That pick would be practically guaranteed to produce a star player. Alex Bridges - S70 - 524 TPE Alex Bridges has been a godsend for Warsaw in his short time here, racking up 86 points in 72 games last season with the help of the now retired Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Bridges is a pretty solid defesemen who will fit into Calgary’s second defense pairing. Bridges is a pretty significant downgrade for Calgary as Latrell Mitchell was their second best defenseman, and he was sent to Warsaw. Not only does Mitchell exceed Bridges in TPE by over 150, he’s also two seasons younger. Furthermore, S76 will be the first season that Bridges experiences depreciation, and he’s on the last year of his contract. Arthur Dayne - S72 - 393 TPE Arthur Dayne is a nice depth player, and should fit into Calgary’s lineup nicely in a 2nd line role. Infernal has been a top earner as of late, and can usually produce at least 6 tpe, while also hitting the cap some of the time. Arthur Dayne is the second biggest piece acquired for Calgary in this trade. He has his contract extended until S78, so he is not a rental which is a bonus. As of right now Dayne is a downgrade TPA-wise for Calgary, but Dayne will most certainly pass the man he is replacing after this season, Willie Dredge, as Dredge is currently inactive. What Warsaw Received: S76 TOR 2nd This pick is two drafts from now, so it is too early to have a good estimate of where the pick will end up. However, Toronto is a relatively young team and I think they will be on the rise next season. I’d put them in the top 8 for S75, but not the top 4. This would put this pick in the 25th-28th range, but this is purely speculation. Who knows what the season has in store. S75 SEA 1st Seattle is currently in 5th place, so they would be looking at a pick in the 11th overall range, assuming their playoff standing matched their current regular season standings. However, Seattle has been on fire recently and could certainly go on another long cup run. I am expecting this pick to be anywhere from 11th to 16th overall. Willie Dredge - S68 - 574 TPA I did not list Dredge’s TPE, because it is ultimately irrelevant as he is an inactive. This part of the trade is a cap dump on Calgary’s part, as Dredge currently makes 4.5 million per year for this season and the next. Like I mentioned earlier, Dredge is a better player than Arthur Dayne this season. However, Dayne’s TPE earning this season combined with Dredge’s depreciation at season’s end makes Arthur Dayne a much better option. Latrell Mitchell - S72 - 678 TPE Latrell Mitchell is the highest TPE player involved in the trade, as well as the most valuable. He is the highest earner of the three active players involved by a wide margin, usually capping his TPE every week. Mitchell will be a significant upgrade for Warsaw at defense, replacing Alex Bridges as their best defenseman. Latrell Mitchell is currently on the last year of his contract, but given his close relationship with the general manager I suspect he will sign long term.
