  8. Accept Sasky was tempting, but decided to play with Keller for at least one season in my career.
  9. Oakhart Options The Canadian left winger has decided to declare for the VHLM and VHL drafts, although he is a little bit behind in development according to most scouts. A knee injury may have delayed his season and overall development, but he may be a solid second or third round selection for most VHL teams. Described as a bruising goal scorer, Vinny may be able to help a team in a top-6 capacity. He's not as great as some of these other players but does he truly need to be at this point? Oakhart just needs to finish rehabilitation and will likely be in full health come the mid-season mark which is quickly approaching. A few teams have already extended their offers, but what is Vinny's true thoughts about them? Ottawa Lynx Given that Oakhart is an Ottawa native himself and grew up there, it's safe to assume that this is a solid destination for the winger this year. The best team in the league with a soaring record can only get better with the addition of Vinny but they already have mainstay Jeff Gow here as their top winger and picked up Zach Weise quite recently. It's safe to assume that Oakhart isn't a pressing need for the Lynx as he would only be maybe their 6th-7th forward. Yukon Rush This is a bit interesting due to a few particular factors. It's another Canadian team but that is not the catch here, it's the fact they have fellow Canadian prospect and phenom Chase Keller. It has been rumored that Oakhart would love to play on Keller's wing someday, but is it possible if he signs with the Rush? They will surely get a few shifts together but it is doubtful that he will be a fixture on their top line since they have both Bennington and Buckshank. Both are clearly better options on the wing than Vinny at this moment so he will never get to truly be Keller's winger. Oslo Storm A European team that has expressed interest in the physical winger, which is of no surprise to most scouts. They lack top-6 wingers in general so Oakhart would get plenty of playing time here and could potentially develop into a lethal option here if he can surpass Ben Green on the depth chart. This team doesn't look like they will accomplish much though, but it may allow Vincent to enhance his leadership capabilities and grow with the team. He wants to be the player that gets the puck when the game is on the line, but that may not be a certainty even here. Shephard is a premier sniper so their styles may clash. Vincent Oakhart has yet to sign as he is still mulling over offers, so thee is still time for the other two teams to send in an offer. Where will the Ottawa native sign? Only time will tell.
  10. Thanks to Smarch, I will now be a LW forward. I sense a few 30 goal seasons.
  11. I have bad experiences with centers, a winger would probably be more my ballpark anyways. Don't feel like burning a week just because to recreate tho since i'm pretty behind atm.
  12. So many goaltenders wtf??? Maybe I should have done my homework, but the VHL now has more goaltenders than ever before. Heck, this draft class had like 5 before I even made. There's a few send downs and every VHL team pretty much has a goaltender at this point so ... Is it pointless being a goaltender? In fact, there's no way i'm catching up to the top 4 in this class either so that puts me in a difficult situation. I'll be a back up this season, and likely the next. If I get lucky I could start, but who knows. Every VHLM team pretty much has their bases covered, and Ottawa has one of the better goalies in the league at the moment. The reason I made a goaltender is because I want to see if I can make a serviceable player at that position and maybe go for a Shaw. I've always wanted to win one even when making the Shielders but it will end up taking me like half my career to even get a starting job in the VHL at this point. I've been thinking about recreating into a forward since I haven't signed or anything either, but there's that one problem i'll have after all. I already did a MS and whatnot and don't feel like burning a week of PTs especially when i'm way far behind any of the other players. Also, there was some index or something for the VHL/VHLM that contains all sorts of records and career statistics. It was some portal idr. Anyone else might know if that thing still exists?

  14. One Horse Race The race for the Devereux trophy is always the most interesting and there are a variety of factors that go into this. From back in the day, usually the goaltenders with the most amount of effort put in would compete for this award but things have changed a bit since the league's contractions. Less teams and more players create better parity and difficulty for even the hardest working of players to get through. I don't expect earth shattering numbers this year, but any solid performance should be enough to put this award away with relative ease. The 56th season is still young, but lets take a look at who will be contending for this award so early on. Ike Arkander - Ottawa The front runner for the award this season, in fact ... There's no contest thus far. He has the best save percentage in the league by far. They aren't Apollo Skye numbers but the VHL drafted prospect has shown definite improvement in his game and will look to take over completely at the VHLM level. Is he the best? Yeah, by a mile. He's my favorite to win this award. Seven wins in nine games? Looking like a smooth year for the Swedish net minder. He has yet to record a shut out but as stated before, there is a lot of time for him to rack those up like VHLM goalies of the past. Shawn Brodeur - LV My dark horse --- One that is trailing behind Arkander by quite a bit BUT ... He's been updating and that's key. Improvement over the season will show immediate gains and success, his next set of starts should prove to be something special if he can get his engine up and running. He has a unique set of skills and is not some cookie cutter goaltender like Arkander-- I like off the wall projects so i'm a fan of his .... Regardless, I doubt he catches Arkander but the season started recently and there are a lot of games still to be played. It wouldn't be the first time a goaltender's performance falters near the end of a season so young Brodeur has a shot. Keep at it! I don't see anyone else contending, but I would love to see them prove me wrong. O'Tarth would be third, but the other two have way better teams around them at the moment-- At least in terms of results. Having a solid team is only half of the equation but I can definitely see this sleeper waking up and shocking some scouts. Brodeur and Arkander will have the support of fire power and likely get favorable match ups but they have both risen up to the occasion when called for. There is a surplus of goaltenders if you look across both leagues, but I don't see anyone else in the VHLM challenging unless they are willing to put in the effort to improve.
  15. pretty sure i played 90% of his career on bad teams lmao. that 1 cup run was the biggest miracle i've ever seen.
  16. Am I back? Nope, not really. On the SHL i'll probably just be claiming activity checks and training while here i'll be doing much of the same. It all boils down to one common factor and that's school. To be honest I probably wouldn't have thought about coming back until Corco planted the seed in my head and asked me to returned a few weeks back. My players were never all that great, but they had their moments. Well ... Fisher/Taylor were straight busts. Both centers so maybe I should stay away from those. The Shielders are a bit interesting--- I did earn more than 3 TPE on the first one, just my updates didn't go in since we swapped over to a different site back then. Both were promising but they left me unfulfilled since goaltenders can be quite one dimensional. My wingers have been my best (but boomcheck, both ur wingers were like 199-350 tpe). Bravehart had a crazy one hit wonder season in the regular season, I was legit tearing it up. Rhinehart was special in his own way-- The player I used to figure out the VHL's formula on how to create a solid player. Pretty sure I ended my career in Seattle with the biggest surprise championship in league history, top 10 in goals for Seattle and the franchise leader in hits. Not so bad for a 350ish TPE player right? My goaltender will be meh. Still, i'll see if I can win a VHLM best goaltender award.
  17. There's a team in Vegas now?
