  1. 1. I feel that we have been very good, possibly the best team I have been on. I'm extremely proud of the team that we have become. 2. Well, I would have much preferred to win Gold over Bronze, but I suppose that just being there was an honor. I think that it was a great opportunity to show off myself. 3. No question about it, it's going to be Halifax. Hoping to meet the in the finals, they are going to be the most difficult team I have ever faced in a playoff round. Though we have to make it there first. 4. I normally stay away from alcohol and partying, so I stay away from the bars. Usually I go home and cook a steak or chicken. Nothing too fancy because it'll usually be late, but I like to get something good in my system before I hit the hay. 5. Cat person for sure. I like calm animals more. Sure, I might have to clean up a mouse or bird every now and then, but my cats are generally well-behaved. Though don't blame me if my sweater is covered in cat hair. 6. Can I say AGM JIggly Gumballs for both of these? There are times where he's one of the coolest, awesome guys out there. Then there are times when he gets drunk and sends me links to hentai. I am getting increasingly more worried as the hentai gets more and more grotesque. I think he might need help.
  2. Breaking news coming out of Las Vegas today as goaltender Drew Minott has announced his plan to leave the VHLM behind, and join the ranks of the L.A. Stars, at the end of this postseason. Minott confirmed this in an interview (transcribed below) following Vegas's final game of the regular season. Here are Minott's words on the ordeal: "Hey Minner, Markus Bucyk from the Vegas Harald. I was wondering if you could give us your plans for the offseason?" "Sure things Bucky, good to have you back after you broke your leg. I actually have something pretty big I would like to announce. I have spoken with GM Josh of the LA Stars, and after some consideration I have decided to make the jump to the VHL after this playoff run." *Que chaos breaking out from various reporters breaking off from other players to join the Minott pile-on* "Hey hey hey, calm down. One at a time everyone! You, over there, with the makeshift boom-mic." "Hi Drew, Vanessa Kimbell from the Toronto Times, I was wondering that spurred on your decision to finally make the jump?" "For sure, I just feel like I am ready to make the jump. I ain't getting any younger, and I want to play on the best stage in the world and show that so many people putting their faith in me wasn't a mistake. I have time for one more question." "Hi Mr. Minott, Terrence Paul from the Los Angeles Post. How do you see yourself fitting in to the Los Angeles roster and locker room?" "Yeah, that's where I have to dock myself some points. I definitely am not going to jump and immediately take the starting role. Even suggesting that would be disrespectful to Doug Dimmadome, the current starter up in LA. I feel like I'm going to be getting my toes wet for a season or two, getting some games under my belt and hopefully showing that me being there isn't a mistake. As for how I see myself fitting into the locker room, I feel like I'm going to fit in nicely. I know we aren't going to be the best team around, but I have always found that being in a bad situation helps you know exactly where you need to work on yourself. I feel excited to be coming up to LA. Thanks guy, but I have to head out now." Once the news had reached the Los Angeles locker room, one player who knows Minner well had a statement to give. After spending the latter half of S72 together on the Houston Bulls, here is Jiggly Gumballs: "Hello Jiggs, Jordan Hunter from the Los Angeles Times, after the recent announcement from your ex and future teammate, Drew Minott, coming up to play with the Stars in the VHL next season, what are your thoughts on how Minner will fit in with the team?" "To me, with how good Doug Dimmadome has been as the new starter for LA. I think Minner can come in and sorta compete for that starting position. I see him and Dimmadome being a great tandem of sorts. Splitting games up between the two and acting as a one-two punch in terms of goaltending. It's honestly just great to see me and Minner reunite as teammates soon." If we receive any more updates on the Minott situation, we will update this thread. (Special thanks to @JigglyGumballsfor sending me a quote to use!)
  3. Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Minner Minute. Here, I try to answer as many fan submitted questions as possible in a minute. Let's get goin'! Q: Hey Minner, a few teams have been playing around with the idea of having custom goal songs for each player. If you ever managed to score a goal, what song would you want to be played? A: That's actually a pretty good question. I think I would have to play a song that honors my hometown: Memphis, Tennessee. https://youtu.be/jYE-1HfReQo Q: Minner, how do you think this year's Aces compare to last hear's Bulls? A: Well, I hate to compare teams that I have been on, but if I had to say one key difference was. I would say it comes down to defense. This year's Aces are a little less Offensively talented (very slimly not as good), but they make up for it a lot in defense. I love the guys and gals from Houston, but they didn't really help me out much on the back end. Here in Vegas, I get a lot more support in our own zone. Q: Knowing this this is your last year in the VHLM, how do you feel about moving up next year? A: I'm honestly a bit nervious. There's a very large skill jump there. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but in this league I can say I'm one of the better goalies. Up there, I'm gonna get put in my place very fast. I just need to have confidence and keep moving forward. Do my best. Okay, thank you everyone for coming this week. If you have any questions, please submit them! Have a good week!
  4. 1: I believe it shows that we have a very deadly team. I find it comparable to my experience on the Houston Bulls last year, but with more offense (sorry ex-teammates). 2: I think that it won't effect too much in the end, except for teams near the bottom. I know from my own experience in S72 that a few noobies can help out a team a lot. 3: Oddly enough, I wouldn't say my closest confidant or buddy would be in the locker room. That honor goes to our AGM, Big Jig Gumballs ( @JigglyGumballs ). We don't have a handshake or anything per se, but we talk a lot. 4: Bit late, but I think we're fine as we are. 5: I'm making a big ol' dinner for my family. Any of the guys who are far from home are welcome as well! 6: I barely made it to represent my home country, the good Ol' U S of A. After not making them last year (even missed team World for fuck's sake!) it really motivated me to pull my act together.
  5. Love it. It's spelled Minott Love it!
  6. USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! Also it’s Minott not Minnott
  7. 1) Our production has slowed as of late. We're winning one game and then losing the next. What do you think needs to change? A: I think that we just need to keep playing our game. Every team has a rough streak during a season, we just need to get out of the funk and get back on track. 2) What do you hope to achieve when you finally make it to the VHL? For those who have already been drafted by a VHL team so far, do you think that you will achieve it with your current team? A: I hope that I can be a valuable piece to a team, in my case LA, and win a championship. Though in all honesty, they already have Doug Dimmadome, so at best I'll be a backup for a while. 3) What makes the Las Vegas Aces great as a team? The chemistry? The player's skill? A: Definitely the chemistry. From what I can see from my side of the ice and the video, the guys seem to have some sort of telepathic link where they always know where the others are on the ice. It's creepy. 4) Which VHLM team would you consider a dark horse candidate for the Cup? A: Houston. I was one of the Big Three in S72 there with Jiggs and Patty Laine, if they can get a similar group of guys to recreate with them they have a good chance. 5) Tea or Coffee? Which do you prefer? A: I'm disgusted by this question. I grew up in Mississippi. Sweet Tea forever. 6) What other awards are you aiming for apart from the Cup? A: No other awards. At the end of the day, only one matters.
  8. Hello everyone, and welcome back to your regularly scheduled episode of Minner Minute! Apologies for cutting it close this week, I’ve been busy! Here at Minner Minute, I’ll attempt to answer as many submitted questions as I can in one minute. Let’s do this! Q: Hey Minner, how’s it feel to play in Vegas. How is it different to Houston? A: Vegas has been great! I’m more of the type to stay away from the... nightlife. But I still love this city, and the team has been great. One aspect I can say seems different is the defense. I don’t mean to knock the old group from Houston, but they were full-tilt offense, whereas Vegas is more well-rounded. Q: You’ve had a strong start to the season despite everything going on. How have you kept yourself in the groove? A: It’s been pretty rough on all of us, but I’ve managed it pretty well. I just have to keep playing my game. I know what I can do and how well I can perform, so I hold myself to those high standards. I try not to be too fancy out there, stick to the basics and I make it work. Q: What is your favorite part of Vegas so far? A: That’s tough to answer. It’s a combination of things really. My teammates and the team staff are amazing, the atmosphere is so energetic it feels like we’re in the middle of a thunderstorm sometimes, and the fans give us more love than we could ever ask for. Playing here has been a blessing for me. Okay everyone, that’s gonna wrap it up. Thank you for this week’s questions @Spartanand @JigglyGumballs! I look forward to hearing your questions for next week everyone! Until then, have a good week!
  9. “and traded for Drew Minnot” *sad Drew Minott noises*
  10. Hello everyone, and welcome back to Minner Minute. Normally I would take user questions and attempt to answer them in under a minute. But as most of you know, the show has been on an unofficial hiatus or the past month. I feel like I owe not only my readers, but also current and future teammates an explanation. On September 2, my family was forced to evacuate our home due to the Oregon wildfires. I still made it to the games and practices, can't miss games with my new team (especially when they traded for me), but I have been spending as much time as I can with my family trying to hear from firefighters if our home still stands. We lived on a mountain, one that was blocked off by police while firefighters worked tirelessly to save the homes of us and our neighbors. It wasn't until the 14th that we were allowed back up. And thankfully our home made it. Our storage shed, however, did not. Which had most of my gear from my playing days in Houston. The only souvenirs I have from that time now are my jerseys, which I had framed. We are now moved back in, the fires are long gone and they skies are clear of smoke for the first time in nearly a month. Our wellhouse, that was shared between us and two other neighbors, was gone. So things are back to normal except for having water delivered to our tank. I will attempt to go back to a normal schedule on this site, but I cannot guarantee anything. The stress has been great and I might not make a week or so. I apologize in advance to anyone who has expectations of me. However, I will still be making it to games. I won't let down our fans in Las Vegas. Speaking of that, I suppose I never got to say goodbye to my fans in Houston after the trade. Thank you for accepting me and showing me how great a fanbase can be, Houston. It meant the world to me. And thank you to my teammates, for supporting me throughout both the transition and the past month. It has meant the world to me. I will be returning to our normal scheduled Minner Minute next week. Please send in your questions for next episode. Thank you all, and have a good day.
  11. Welcome back everyone, to another episode of Minner Minute. Here, I will attempt to answer your fan-submitted questions in a minute or less. I'm your host, Drew Minott, let's get started! Submitted by User: SkyHye: Hey Minner, this season has obviously been siginifigantly better than last season. What do you feel has changed in order for the team to find success this season? Well I feel the answer to this is fairly obvious. We've thrown together an amazing group of people this season. Not to discount the folks from last year, but you can't argue that the team from last year is better than this year's. We just didn't have the numbers or talent last year to put up a fight. This year, however, we've added almost an entire team to our roster, with mostly Knighty, Grapey, and myself being the ones that were leftover from the dismantling of last year's team. I feel that this year's team not only has the skill, but has the personalities to find success. Submitted by User: WikiFiki: Hey Minner, in your off time, what kinds of things do you like to do? Well, I'm a bit of a nerd. I like to play a lot of video games, I like to read, and I like to write. I'm kind of a weeb, though to be fair half our team is. I've been playing Civ6 on my laptop when we're on the road, and when I'm home I'll play games like Persona 5, SCP: Secret Lab, and Rust. I also enjoy cooking a lot, I've actually received culinary training back in my highshool days and want to open a restaurant after my playing days are over. Thank you for coming to this week's episode. I'm glad that you decided to join me this week. Leave some questions down below for next week's episode, and goodbye!
  12. Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of Minner Minute. Here, I will try to answer as many fan-submitted questions in a minute as I can. Let's get started. Submitted by User: ShatrikHaine: Hey Minner, with the recent slump the Bulls have been having, how do you see you and the team getting out of it? Well, I think we just need to keep playing our game. You aren't going to win every game in a season, every now and then you'll have a slump. Happens to the best of teams. Only thing we can do is try our best and play our style, it has worked for us in the past and it will work for us in the future. Submitted by User: Bulls4LiF3: We've been hearing rumors about you and other Bulls being involved in an off-season training camp with other players in the league. Can you give us any details on it? Not many in particular just yet, it hasn't actually happened. We are looking to get a decent sized group of us to get together and practice once the season is over. All I can say is that it isn't a group of plugs, those of us in the group are pretty good. That's going to have to be it for this episode, thank you all again for coming this week. If you would like to send in questions, my private messages are open, or you could send a reply to this article. I look forward to next week!
  13. Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Minner Mintue! This is the show where I try to answer as many user-submitted questions in a minute or less! Let's get goin'! Submitted by User: Geekus14: Hey Minner, I was wondering what the design of your padding was based on? Well I didn't want anything too flashy, you know how the media hates players showing a shred of personality. I just kept it simple by going with a white base with red and black finishes. I feel like it looks really well in the end. Submitted by User: SeamusTrapson: Who would you say would be the best bet to suit up as an emergency goalie if you were to get injured in a game? That's a tough question. If I had to say anyone, I would probably say Markus Schauer. He's a tall guy with a large frame, and he's one of the more flexible people on our team. If he could resist the urge to go out and play the puck every time it gets near him, I would say he would be pretty decent in net. Okay, last question then we need to call it quits for this week. Submitted by User: TakinLsL&R: Minner, what does your warmup/hype music playlist typically consist of? This is one I've heard a couple of times before. I have a bit of an odd mix. I typically stick with a couple different bands, mostly Avenged Sevenfold and Pantera. Though I do like to toss a few orchestral pieces in there such as Libeslied, You Say Run, and Moonlight Sonata. I kind of go all over the place. Okay everyone, that concludes this week's episode of Minner Minute. Don't forget to send in your questions for next week's episode! Thank you all for coming this week, and I hope to see you next time! Goodbye!
  14. Hello everyone, welcome back to Minner Minute! I apologize for missing the past week, I had life goings that caused me to not have time for the MinMin. With that out of the way, this is Minner Minute, where I answer as many of your questions in a minute or less. Let's get started! Submitted by User: al29nghd: Hi, now that we've just passed the halfway point in the season, how are you feeling? Well, I'm feeling really good about it. We just took first place in the league, which is the biggest upgrade I could have asked for after last year. I'm very excited for the future of this team. Submitted by User: HornzU9: Who would you say is your biggest rival on or off the ice? For sure would be Miami. We're both some of the top teams in the league and there's a bit of a personal tune to it. I know that myself and Patrik Laine have a bit of a friendly beef going on. He's yet to score a goal on me. However, in terms of teams, they to like to throw a few dirty hits. It's only a matter of time until a line brawl breaks out with these teams, and let me just give a warning to Bacon. You don't wanna fight a southern boy. I'll leave it at that. Thank you all again for coming to episode 6 of Minner Minute. Again, I apologize for missing last week. I will try not to do so again. If you have any questions for next week, please feel free to send them in! Have a good day or night, and goodbye!
  15. Hello again Houston, welcome to a very late edition of Minner Minute! Here, I try to answer as many of your questions in a minute or less. Let's get goin! Submitted by User: LadyKiller10: Which player always comes to you first after a win? A) That'd be Knighty. He's said it's because us Vets gotta stick together, but I think he's intimidated by the ladies. Submitted by User: Hazedandconfused: Which player do you miss the most from last season? A) That would have to be Jiggs. Don't get me wrong, I love everyone in our room now, but Jiggs is a friend for life to me. Thankfully we'll be reunited in Los Angeles eventually, but I miss that nutcase. Submitted by User: HellYeahBrotha: When we went to our first team bonding event, what was is and what memory is most vivid for you? A) That would have to be when we went to the bar our second game, it was in Mexico City. Venus snuck my helmet out somehow, so after I went to the bathroom and came back they had it lined with plastic-wrap. It was filled to the brim with margarita and those little LED ice cubes. The team ended up sharing it, minus me because I wasn't a fan of the ordeal, and they ended up puncturing a hole in the wrap and the drink got everywhere. It took a week for the smell of alcohol to get out of my mask. Okay everyone, that's all I have time for. Thank you for coming to this week, and hopefully next episode won't be so late!
  16. Imagine getting shutout by the Bulls This comment has been sponsored by the Houston Bulls Discord group get good
  17. That might be the coolest fucking set of things I have ever seen
  18. I'm in Edit: Didn;t see registration was closed, oh well
  19. HELLO HOUSTON, I HAVE RETURNED. Also hello to any Los Angeles fans that might be tuning in to see their new draft pick. My name is Drew Minott, starting goalie for the Houston Bulls, and this is Minner Minute. Here, I try to answer as many fan-submitted questions as I can in one minute or less. Let's get started! Submitted by User: HomelessGuyinLA: Hey Minner, how did you feel when you saw that you were picked up by LA in the draft? A) Well, I was excited to say the least. It was incredibly flattering that they traded up for me. Though I didn't get super excited until I saw Jiggs get taken the pick after mine. I was ecstatic! Submitted by User: Back2Backlosses: Drew, with your teammates from last year leaving, what do you see in some of their futures? A) Well, I wish them all the best. Especially Patty and Jiggs. I know that Patty can (and will) tear up the VHL when he gets the call-up. As for Jiggs, well I just hope he doesn't allow too many breakaways on me when we get to LA. Submitted by User: FUckCovid2059: Are there any new teammates in particular that you are excited to be playing with? A) Of course, there are quite a few. To start, I'm very excited to have Markus Schauer on the team. I've heard great things about him, and I can't wait to see it for myself. Another teammate I'm excited for is Venus Thightrap. She's incredibly fast, one of the fastest skaters I have ever seen. I can't wait for her to get a load of breakaways, leaving the defender in the dust. Submitted by User: DamnSonThicc: How are your interactions with your ex-teammates going to be going forward? Do you all still talk or hang out? A) Of course, especially with the season we had the only thing we could do was bond. I was told by Jiggs that he took a visit to Finland to mess with Patty. So we plan to keep the traditions alive. Just wait until Jiggs and I play again. Thank you for coming, and I hope to see you all next week! People Mentioned: @JigglyGumballs @PatrikLaine @BladeMaiden @Plate
  20. I’ll miss you here in Houston buddy, but I’ll see you soon in Hollywood ?
  21. 1) I would have to say my favorite part of the VHL (VHLM included) would have to be the unique system for player development. I very much enjoy writing, so having a unique chance to make it worth something (even something as debatable as fake internet player points)has been very enjoyable for me. 2) I would have to say my most impressive part of my game is my reflexes. I have made quite a few (not to toot my own horn) amazing saves this season. Another not-so-tracked attribute I think stands out about me is my perseverance. Even after starting out with the worst team in the league, I still stuck with it and tried my best to make it work in a bleak situation. 3) I think I'm most known for managing to get hurt somehow. As you can ask my teammates, they love to aim for areas that I don't appreciate, the obvious one, Matty likes to take shots off my head, and they try to hit the back of my legs to mess with me. In all seriousness, I think they think of being a great guy both on and off the ice. I always keep a positive attitude and I drive others to search for success. 4) If I won the lottery, I would not tell anyone. Nobody. As soon as one person hears about it, there will be a thousand people you might have spoken to you once begging for money. So to answer the question, I would stay quiet. 5) I would have to say that I can watch Inglorious Basterds over and over again nonstop. Hans Landa, portrayed by Christoph Waltz, is one of my favorite villains of all time. Not to mention the incredible storylines of the Basterds themselves, as well as Shoshanna and her revenge plot. Not to mention I like to listen and try to recognize and be able to listen to the scenes with French and German without subtitles. 6) The oldest piece of equipment I own? That would have to be my pads. I might repaint them every now and then, but they're always the same ones that I've used since juniors.
  22. You’re makin me tear up here Patty. I’ll miss ya bud. But don’t think for a damn second I won’t still prank you. Watch your back kid, you’ve got at least me and Jiggs comin after you.
  23. Love ya Patty, good luck bud!
  24. Hello everyone, welcome back to the third installment of Minner Minute! I'm Drew Minott, starting goalie for the Houston Bulls (currently on vacation, thank you very much), and this is Minner Minute, where I answer as many submitted questions as I can in one minute! Let's do this. Submitted by User Giggly_Ballz: Do you think you'll ever be a hall of famer one day? I don't think I'll ever achieve that level, though who ever thought they would? I would like to be for sure, but in the end of the day I need to focus on what's directly in front of my instead of that far off in the future. Submitted by User CottonEyedFred: What are your feelings on the upcoming VHL and VHLM drafts? Well, let me take that in two different parts. First the VHLM, I'm very anxious about it. More nervous than about the VHL draft. That sounds odd, but I'm at least spending one more season in the M, so I'm more focused on the next upcoming season.I would love to stay in Houston, but I guess I can't control what happens. As for the VHL draft, I don't have much of a connection, so I'm excited to see where I'm going in the next few years, but it has less significance to me right now. All I can do is wait and see. Submitted by User UndercoverGM: Hey Minner, have you heard from any teams, and how do you feel about it? Well, I have only heard from one team. I'm a bit disappointed really, a few of my teammates who are right around my draft ranking have heard from quite a few, but I've been waiting for my phone to go off and I've been left waiting. I hope to hear from more GMs before the draft comes up, especially with how high I'm expected to go in the M draft. I understand with the VHL draft, me being in the 3rd-4th round. Okay thank you everyone for joining me with this week's episode. If this happens to be my last episode with the Houston Bulls, then it has been an honor to play for you Houston, and it's been a pleasure to play with the guys in the locker room. Thank you all, and have a good day.
