Hello @Members! Man the two months between these seem to fly by every time don’t they? Or is that just for the blues since we have to come up with ideas. It is, however, that time of the season again, theme week! Everyone’s favourite week (aside from the blues) since you all get that sweet extra TPE. Of course, that also means that the Trade Deadline is Monday, April 15th at 3pm EDT. This also means that anyone wishing to re-create for the S95 draft can do so starting at midnight that same day. --- Trade deadlines are boring though, you wanna know about theme week don’t you? The theme for S93 is: It’s your lucky day @Frank! Have a team whose location is bugging you? Or maybe you just really hate the team name or logo? If everything bent to your whim what would you do with the branding of a team, or hell multiple teams, whatever you’d like? What would the league look like? To earn your Theme Week TPE, write an article, create a graphic, or record a podcast with some connection to “Rebrand”. --- In order to claim the theme week bonus of 6 Uncapped TPE, simply submit your Themed PT (Graphic, Media Spot, or 6-TPE Podcast), and claim it as normal. After claiming the PT portion, you can use the same link, and claim the uncapped portion as follows: Claim Uncapped > Other > Doubles Week. (Note: you do not need to post your link in this thread to claim either portion of TPE). If you have already submitted a Point Task for this week, or are in the midst of claiming a multi-week Media Spot/Podcast, you may still submit a Theme Week PT this week, and claim the capped portion on the next available week, following your multi-week claim. Also, if you have a single job that pays 6+, you may claim the theme week bonus as long as you complete your duties for the week. If you are in the SBA and have completed their most recent Media Week, you may use that to claim the Uncapped theme week bonus, but a PT must be completed this week in order to claim the Capped portion, whether that is completed here or through Affiliate Welfare. As I work in film this has been a hot topic for the last couple of years with opinions ranging from “we’re all fucked, it’s gonna replace us all” to “it’s fucking dumb and doesn’t stand a chance in creative fields.” On the whole I fall in the middle, I think it’s a useful tool in some circumstances but people need to not trust it too much. Ultimately it is easily mistaken and fooled because it’s pulling from incomplete information. As for specifics, I think stuff like coding can benefit from it greatly because it’s the kind of thing it understands well and you can save hours of debugging. As for what it should stay out of: almost anything creative. It’s a machine, it lacks creativity. All it can do is effectively copy and steal from others and badly mimic it. Useful as a planning tool for something maybe but not as an end product. I had the above all written already when @Kisslinger took those questions so I’m gonna just leave it and answer his haha Well I first started in S1 when no one knew anything about any of the teams and also, I’ll be honest, most of the logos were fucking terrible ripoffs. With that said Amstel had the first pick so I was quite pleased to be taken with it haha. I mean wrestling seems the obvious choice, IYKYK I would say… and if you don’t well google my player’s name. Probably teleportation. It’s not one of the more obvious ones but man, it would be such a time saver wouldn’t it? ————— 1. Another week without simming (well aside from that one day and I'm not gonna claim for that) means another week of needing to earn how the peasants regular members earn so time to spit out a bunch of random words and hope they make a coherent sentence: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you! Like the post if you got that reference ANYWAY if you haven't seen I have finally set a date for the zoo tycoon 2 stream. I've been avoiding doing it while the kids are around because their rooms are right above where my computer is now and they'd be in bed so I don't want to wake them up. Just so happens that I've been mostly the one travelling lately, not my wife and kids, so that timing hasn't come up. The wife is taking the kids up the Ottawa next week though so time for VHL members to become zoo animals again! Hopefully I can remember how to play again haha. Kinda a rough week for Calaway and the Dragons. We have fallen out of first place in the league and I've dropped out of first in the assist and D scoring. We had to get our backup games in and oddly decided to do them when we had a lot of tough games so we'll see how it goes, hopefully things turn around. Still a great season all around, just a bit more of a dip than I would like. Trivia was a bit trickier this week but I still got both answers right so clearly people continue to just complain for no reason: I continue to prove this as fact.

4 months is a reasonable timeframe for this right? That's right everyone, I did not forget about you! Life has just been a bit hectic so I haven't had time to sit down and do this BUT I am finally gonna have a nice solid amount of time next week so it is my pleasure to announce that the third (at this point annual) Beketov Zoo Tycoon 2 stream will take place next Friday, April 12th, at 6:30pm EDT. Hopefully I'll have time to get the bugs worked out in advance and we can spend a few hours having fun and creating some VHL member based animals as we have the last two years. As always the stream will be on my twitch channel which you can find HERE and I'll be aiming to upload the VOD to the league YouTube channel after for those who can't make it but hopefully a lot of people can since it's way more fun when people are hanging in the chat with me. The thing is people are freaking out about the “carbon tax” because it has the word tax in it but the truth is that our gas was literally more expensive last week before the tax increased because it fluctuates so wild normally so it isn’t making a substantial difference. Plus you get a quarterly rebate that pays it all back and then some so only really high polluters are losing money. People are still protesting it though because tax =

@Members Normally this would just go to the ban thread but given the circumstances I think it's best that everyone know what's going on. It has unfortunately come to the attention of myself and @Acydburn that @Josh has been embezzling league funds for his own purposes. Via his access to the league PayPal he was stripping donation funds as payments for portal, forum, and domain hosting with amounts far higher than were actually needed. Because the line items were things he was paying for we had no reason, for a number of years, to think anything of it and were unaware that the costs were actually far less than what he was reimbursing himself which amounts to potentially thousands of dollars; we're still working out the total figures. Obviously we are completely shocked at this behaviour and have immediately stripped Josh of his role as commissioner pending potential future legal action. We have always held firm that the league funds are used exclusively on league related activities so I am quite frankly pissed that a member of the blue team would take donation money for their own uses; whatever his excuses may be. Please be aware that we will be launching a further investigation and audit of all our costs and funds to be sure that no one else has done anything of the sort in the past.
