Also of note on this S66 is when Thompson arrived in Helsinki and we had a dominant AF team. If I recall you were feeding me goals left right and center. S67 things got messy between myself and Borwinn so everything got a bit muddied.

It varied heavily based on season. However S66 is when I lost my best shot at the Kanou so I'm inclined to hate that season specifically.

You could have just DMed us instead of making a whole public spectacle. We’ve been busy, we weren’t actively ignoring it. Just slipped past. I believe everything has been accurately moved now.

We’re going to do our best to filter them into different categories and have open discussion topics for each category. Once the discussions run their course we’ll take the best ideas and move them to BOG discussion. It would be since that hasn’t been 175 for years now. We are extending them, though only by 1 season. Newcomer’s help and Draft central respectively.

The problem isn’t that we’re ignoring you, we aren’t trying to. @Quik is the one with access to the form and he’s gone AWOL with work and wedding planning. We physically couldn’t handle it without that access if we wanted to.

TBH even if we held the discussions in public it wouldn’t change anything. Fact is that member never factors into award decision, we don’t consider it in the slightest and I’d wager a lot of the BOG doesn’t even know the member attached to each name because there are so many players now. There was definitely a time where bias was pretty rampant but it certainly has not felt that way in a long time. On the whole the AC also wasn’t a horrible idea on paper but it lacked any kind of consistency because of the way we designed it, it was flawed from the start and we just didn’t realize it. Making it a rotating door of members was nice on paper but meant that every season the definition of what qualified for an award would change. People talk as if that happens now but it’s more so discussion of the weighing of certain things depending how the league overall did with them moreso than changing what qualifies for an award every season. Famously I argued against Beaviss winning the Boulet once because the AC that season decided it loved +/- even though historically hits have been super important (whether people agree or not) so had he won he would have had less than half of the lowest hits ever for a Boulet winner. Consistency was not key. Anyway, rambling aside, my point is that obviously no one will ever believe us about basically anything, and certainly not bias or preferential treatment, but popularity does no weigh into the BOG voting. Slobo voting…. Yeah probably but that’s on the league as a whole, we can’t really fix a public vote without taking it away from the public.

I’m not taking it as anything more than it is, I assure you. I’m just trying to kinda filter out the stuff that’s already done.

Per the OP: Basically post it this week so the updaters can see that it exists in the right timeframe but you can claim it later.

That already exists, has for a few seasons now. Non-playoff teams enter the lottery tournament. Very little hype. I agree that you don't want to detract from the playoffs, but I still believe that more must be done to keep people interested and involved. This is not just about player activity, but, also retention. Okay but that doesn’t change that it exists. We can’t force people to pay more attention to it if they don’t want to. The players outside the playoffs still have something to look at, how exactly would we make it more appealing to them?

As far as I’m aware that’s actually been ready for awhile. Last I heard it was just waiting on the images which I did. @Dil or @Josh would know more as they were the ones building it.

I'm noticing most of the game threads this season have had 0 responses. In the theme of the day (getting that forum activity up) I challenge you guys to get some activity up in here for day 26. I thought the M was supposedly more hype than this

How we have it sadly is how it works. There’s a PbP breakdown at the bottom of the thread but ultimately when it’s simming there is nothing you can really show except the final score. You just press the button and it does the whole game.

I don’t think anyone is downgrading the impact he had but I can see where Cow is coming from as it basically comes off as “anyone not Beaviss can’t do the job” when he had avenues available to him that got burnt. Also “bringing back” someone who doesn’t want to be here isn’t as simple as it sounds.
