Where they aren’t a thing anymore we can remove that line. Backups are on the team the full 72 games, they count.

Season 90 Experience Points Congratulations to all @Members for the completion of another successful VHL season, as well as to Prague for taking home their first Continental Cup. As always, with the season past, all VHL players have earned some more experience based on the length of their campaign. In addition, anyone who participated in the VHLM or VHLE in S90 is eligible to claim 3 Experience points. How to Claim Claim experience in the Player Management area by clicking the 'CLAIM UNCAPPED' button, select Off-Season, then select Experience from the dropdown. Enter the amount of Experience you are eligible for as described below and link to this thread.  Once approved, the Experience will be added directly to your player's experience attribute. You do not need to apply it yourself.  NOTE: YOU CAN NOT CARRY OVER EXPERIENCE POINTS EARNED BY A RETIRED PLAYER ONTO A RECREATE  POINTS Full VHL Season - 5 Points Partial VHL Season - 2 points (Less than 72 GP in VHL, unless due to a trade) Playoffs - 2 Points Finals - 1 Point VHLE (Any Amount) - 3 Points VHLM (Any Amount) - 3 Points Example: John Jameson played for Prague and won in the finals. They get 5 for a full season, 2 for playoffs, and 1 for finals. For the most part, members of these teams will receive: CALGARY - 5 CHICAGO - 5 DAVOS - 7 DC - 7 HELSINKI - 7 LONDON - 7 LOS ANGELES - 8 MALMO - 5 MOSCOW - 5 NEW YORK - 5 PRAGUE - 8 RIGA - 7 SEATTLE - 7 TORONTO - 7 VANCOUVER - 7 WARSAW - 5

The main issue is that we were assuming the draft would be after FA so it wouldn't have an effect. The draft being pushed up to before FA made the conditions technically impossible to handle because your decision which would only happen after would have been adjusting draft picks. If you had immediately signed or the draft had been later it literally wouldn't have been an issue at all. Additionally we realistically don't look that hard at trades during the off-season because the main thing they would be voided over would be cap compliance which doesn't matter in the off-season; conditions also strictly are up to the GM's to enforce. Long and short is that it was a complicated situation that had the potential to set some really bad precedent so it was cleaner just to void it out. It should have been done earlier but we weren't made aware of the complication (because again, we don't really handle conditions and don't actively check every intricate detail of every trade during the off season) until yesterday morning so we dealt with it as fast as we could.

This is unfortunately going to need to be voided. Because the draft happens before FA opens there’s no clean way to handle that condition outside of the player simply signing with Davos before FA which we can’t force. For the sake of making sure the draft can run cleanly without these picks being a mess voiding is the safest solution. Stop making your conditions so messy @Alex @Banackock

Initially we wanted the hit heavy so we didn’t add a fighter. Making the hits stronger and still not adding one though may have swung the pendulum too far the other way. To be fair I can’t speak for the others but I’m garbage at getting uncapped so “hasn’t missed TPE” is just the capped stuff, that’s actually a lot less than most. I also did have the opportunity to skip it and could have but chose to stay down not because it avoided any depreciation hit or whatever but because I wanted an experience I had never had in the VHL, something that is quite rare after 15 years. It may be shocking but not every decision is entirely TPE based.

Can I just say I still find it hilarious that’s the actual name of the award haha

God damnit, I’m gonna have to make at least 2 new cup banners this season…

That is 110% not a rule. Everyone in the lottery has a chance at 1OA, that’s what the odds are, the chance of first overall pick. The only other rule associated with it is that you can’t drop more than 1 spot from your initial position. As I said above, positioning is not changing, I should have made that more clear but there was a bit of confusion and I’m tired and overworked. The odds are changing but the amount they can drop remains the same.

I believe that to be the intention, sorry I didn’t make that more clear earlier. It’s been a crazy evening and morning. Need to confirm that’s how the portal will treat it but yes, this is just first overall odds. Much like how the lotto tournament worked your placement in the lotto doesn’t change, just the odds of winning it. So Warsaw still can only drop to 2nd and Calgary to 4th. Precedent needs to change because honestly it’s every single season at this point so clearly leniency isn’t working. Additionally in the case of LA that you mention there were outside circumstances with the GM that had to be considered. At the end of the day we don’t like handing out punishments nor do we like arguing about them but the fact is that the rules exist and people need to start actually following them. Is every future game over 8 going to result in a punishment? Probably not, but there has to be a limit to the leniency.

I also just want to make something perfectly clear. This isn’t a COC violation where appeals and “first time offender” are really a thing. League rule offences work differently. People don’t get to appeal Louth rule punishments for example. Hell we’ve let it go so often in the past that I doubt any current GM is even a first time offender anymore, we just don’t have the records to back that up. It has happened every season, enough is enough and the rules have to matter.
