twillcox94 replied to RoughHands's topic in Archived Career Tasks
Content: 2.75/3 It was good a good overview of Nemecek's game, but I felt it could of gone more in depth. It is exactly 450 words, and I think you could of given more to some questions, especially the one on what part of your game you could work on. Still pretty good and with a little bit more it could be a 3/3. Grammar: 1.5/2 Matej Nemecek a product of Bratislava, Slovakia. --> Matej Nemecek is a product of Braitslava, Slovakia. Still kind of doesn't make make sense as a stand alone sentence. I would of went Matej Nemecek, who is a product of Bratislava, Slovakia, had a great start to the year in Yukon. Big, rangy and a playmaker, while has improved, it can What do you think, what part of your game you think you should work on? --> In your opinion, what part of your game do you think you should work on? other team's top lines in the own zone --> in my own zone Appearance: .75/1 Had a picture and it was easy to read. Could of added a title or another picture. Kind of plain. Easy to fix up for next time. Total: 5/6 -

Content: 3/3 Fun to read, creative article. I enjoyed Encarnacion's words for Miller. Grammar: 2/2 No spelling mistakes, but I would suggest to limit the amount of commas you use to continue sentences. In some cases I think it reads better if you would just split the sentences into two. Appearance: 1/1 Easy to read format with creative pictures. Total: 6/6 OVERALL: 6/6

I was wondering that. It has you listed under the eligible player in the draft thread. I'm not sure.

Content: 3/3 Good overview of Boychuck's and the Wranglers' season. Grammar: 2/2 Nothing to bad at all. Godavari Yumalatopinto returned to Calgary and scored 61 points being the best offensive output as a defenseman on the club Should have a comma after 61points, but the wording still sounds off. I would of went Godavari Yumalatopinto returned to Calgary and scored 61 points, which was the best offensive output from a defenceman on the club. staying at 66 points, which is not bad by any means Appearance: 1/1 Nice placement and pictures. I also like the fact you bold/color names, numbers, scores, etc. Overall: 6/6 FINAL: 6/6 -

Willcox Ready for Change Heading Into Off-Season Willcox answers questions from reporters during locker clean out In a season that ended in bitter disappointment for Travis Willcox and the Brampton Blades, the Welsh winger is preparing for an off-season that will bring about big change. After the completion of the season forty playoffs, Willcox will join his fellow season forty-two VHL draft prospects into the VHLM dispersal draft. With no picks in the first round for Brampton, all signs point to Willcox packing his bags and joining a new team for season forty-one. After a successful rookie campaign with the Blades, Willcox hopes that there will be a way to be with Brampton next season. " When I joined the Blades earlier this season after playing in Cardiff, it was a huge jump for me. I never found myself outside of Europe before this season, and I was nervous as hell to leave everything I have back home in Wales in order to come over. Now that I find myself getting comfortable here in Canada, I might not be back. While this is not an ideal situation for myself, I know this has to be done to further my progression. My agent let it be known to me that the both Bern and Bratislava hold multiple first round draft picks in the upcoming VHLM draft; being closer to home in Europe will bring about some comfort for myself as I would imagine that friends and family would attend multiple games. " - Travis Willcox Blades' forwards A.C. Savage and Travis Willcox along with fellow season forty-two VHL draft prospects answer questions from the media. Entering the season forty-one off-season, Willcox is looking to further progress his game in order to rise to the top of the season forty-two draft rankings. Working alongside the Blades' coaching staff, Willcox has been further developing his two-way defensive style of play. Showcasing these skills throughout the season, Willcox was able to make vast improvements to his game as he got more ice time under his belt. He finished his twenty-two game campaign with over a hit per game, addressing the concerns that scouts had that he did not use his big frame enough to punish opposing players. The Welsh prospect also finished with a plus/minus of +3, showcasing that Willcox is a very reliable player in his own end. As he enters season forty-one, Willcox is looking to stand out as one of the top defensive forwards in the game. " It is no secret that I am not a player that will put up fifty goals or one hundred points, I am a player that will give his all each and every shift. My skills show in my own end, where I can shut down opposing forwards and win puck battles in the corner. I will be working more on my play making abilities this off-season, as I know that the VHLM is a offensive league and I can't totally abandon my offence. I know one thing for sure, I will be a force to be reckoned with next season. " - Travis Willcox In an off-season that will be full of change for Willcox, he will be ready for whatever will come his way. Expectations are high for Willcox's first full VHLM season, as he will try to lead his team to a championship performance. Whether it be in Brampton, Europe, or another North American division team, Willcox is sure to show that he is worthy of being a first round pick in the season forty-two VHL draft.

I sort of do. He showed glimpses of what he is showing now, but then he would float around for the next 8 games. He did not have a good relationship with Torterlla, so hard to say how he would fit now.

Not in that sense. It was a great deal for the Canucks, but would of rather gave up another d-man than Allen.

Allen is a solid 5/6 guy. I was upset when the Canucks traded him back in 05

Saw a couple threads on UFC related news here, any fans still left? Also, feel free to talk boxing, kick-boxing, jiu-jitsu. Great night for fights tonight. UFC Fight Night Austin is a pretty good televised card. Swanson vs. Edgar should be a good tilt. Pacquiao vs. Algieri tonight and Metamoris 5 is just wrapping up.

I was a huge Lucic fan when he was with the Giants and his first season with the Bruins. He's just too much of a baby. I was happy to see someone knock him down a peg or two.

Decrease Teams Increase Roster Sizes
twillcox94 replied to Frank's topic in Suggestions and Complaints
I get the point that people want to score right off the bat, but that seems like it would almost get boring a couple season in imo. Would be more of a challenge. But if the simulator would be messed if the number of teams went down, just leave it. -

I had the same thought the last couple days. I think ten teams is to many, it is better to have more activity throughout the team. At the very least bring it down to 8 VHL teams and 8 VHLM teams. -
I failed at re-search. Apparently it's around five. https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=flying+from+cardiff+to+switzerland

Willcox Not Likely to Return to Brampton Willcox hopes to dawn the Blades jersey next season, though not likely. BRAMPTON - After a disappointing 4-1 series loss against the Minot Gladiators, Brampton cleared out their locker rooms today, a day Willcox was not looking forward to. Willcox will be entering the season forty-one VHLM dispersal draft, and with no picks in the first round for the blades, it looks like Willcox nor top prospect A.C. Savage will be returning to the team next season. " After notifying general manager Terence Fong of my desire to stay with the club, he informed me that the team has no picks in the upcoming draft. I have enjoyed my short stint here in Brampton and I really wanted to play here next season as I prepare for the season forty-two VHL draft. He let me know that if he is able to acquire a pick in the mid first to early second, I will have a home here. For now I will have to just wait and see how everything shakes up. " - Travis Willcox With the Bratislava Watchmen having three picks in the first round and the Bern Royals having two, a trip back home to Europe may be on the horizon for the Welsh youngster. " My agent informed me that it is a likely scenario that I may find myself switching over to the European Conference next season. Bern is only about a three hour plane trip from my hometown of Cardiff, Wales, so it would be nice to play closer to home and have some family attend some games. "

For many other prospects, these playoffs will go a long way in determining their draft position. Today we will countdown the top five sleeper picks for the upcoming draft. These prospects, while not ranked amongst the top of the class, have the potential to become the next draft day steals for their future VHL teams. 5. Dirk Firkley (Ottawa Lynx) Currently ranked seventeenth in the latest prospect rankings, German right winger Dirk Firkley enjoyed a successful rookie season statistic wise for the struggling Ottawa Lynx. In fifty-nine games for Ottawa, Firkley registered twenty-two goals and twenty-seven assists. The nineteen year old power forward was able to implement a physical style of play for Ottawa, registering one-hundred and twenty-three hits for the club. Standing six-feet three inches and weighing in at two-hundred and twenty pounds, Firkley will bring size and scoring ability to the club that selects him. Firkley has the potential to be a powerful second line goal scoring winger. 4. Raphael Pettyfer (Bratislava Watchmen) Bratislava Watchmen's center Raphael Pettyfer impressed VHL scouts all season long with his strong two way play. As of the beginning of playoffs, Raphael is ranked fifteenth in the season forty-one VHL draft rankings. Pettyfer finished with ten goals and twenty-three assist to finish with thirty-three points in seventy-two games with the Watchmen. These were impressive numbers as he averaged only fifteen minutes per game as a seventeen year old. While he isn't the type of player to standout offensively, Pettyfer's strong play in the defensive zone and smooth skating makes him a very interesting prospect for the upcoming draft. Raphael has the potential to be a strong, two-way second line center for the VHL club to select him. 3. Maris Ziedins (Moscow Redwolves) Latvian born left winger Marias Ziedins was one of the top offensive performers in the VHLM this season. Maris registered fifty-six goals and seventy-two assists, ranking him among the top wingers in the league at the young age of eighteen. Maris is one of the top athletes to enter the draft in recent years; standing at six feet eight inches and weighing in at two-hundred and fourty pounds, he is still one of the fastest players in his draft class. Currently Ziedins is ranked twentieth in the draft rankings, making him one of the top options for general managers in the mid to late second round. Maris has the potential to be an elite power forward in the VHL if his size and speed can transition smoothly to the VHL. 2. David Blind (Minot Gladiators) Goaltender David Blind is in the mist of a great season with the Minot Gladiators. Currently ranked twenty-sixth in the VHL draft rankings, Blind has the biggest potential to climb up in this years draft. Finishing with a 30-10-3 record with the Gladiators, Blind also recorded a .863 save percentage and 3.90 goals against average. While his statistics don't stand out on paper, Blind was able to always pull through in the clutch with Minot in the heavily offensive VHLM. Blind's amazing work ethic should pay due in the next couple of seasons as he is sure to improve and become one of the best young goalies in the VHL. Blind has the potential to be a strong number one goaltender in the VHL. 1. Brandon Holmes (Yukon Rush) American born defenceman Brandon Holmes has done the most to show scouts that he should be selected a lot higher than his ranking suggest. Ranked thirteenth in the latest draft rankings, Holmes' great season with the Rush might of been enough to slide him into first round consideration. The eighteen year old tallied twenty-two goals and ninety-one assists for the Rush. While great offensive statistics for Holmes, it was his physical defensive play that is shining through for the scouts. Holmes also has one of the best first passes in the VHLM, making him a great option to start the offensive rush. Holmes may be one one of the top players to come out of this draft, having the potential to be a solid top pairing defenceman in the VHL. -
