Theme Week Special "The VHLM" - Toughest league for winning Ever since I've joint the VHLForum and this hockey league community, I've experienced the get together of a group of hockey fans experiencing the life of a professional hockey league player and management. For every new player, everyone builds toward the final goal, the grand stand of the top tier league, the VHL, however most forget the importance of the basics and the start. The importance of the VHLM. The VHLM is the only league that every single new player will go through and experience. The VHLM is the only league where one would experience a beginning, and perhaps even an ending. As someone who is now with their third player, I have to say the VHLM has so far been the hardest league to win in for me. But wait, isn't the VHL the top tier league where all the best players play, where teams are very uneven and there are the most number of teams making it the hardest to win? Not necessary, since the VHL has no real player rating restrictions, it is very possible for there to be a couple teams that are much more outstanding than the rest of the competition, making it a bit easier to "win". The VHLE makes life even easier for victory given how small of a league they are. And then there's the VHLM. With a very quick and easily achievable player rating ceiling of 200, the VHLM is filled with maxed out players of equivalent standards making competition very ferocious and making victory a roll of the dice. This is of course, only my personal opinion formed from my personal experience from the life of my so far three players. Let's not look at the VHLE, as the league is still very new and I am one for one in the VHLE with a Renaissance Cup through my first and only season with a player whom had played in the VHLE. Let's have a look at the VHL from since I've joint from Season 73. Through the life of Rhynex Entertainment, we saw a total of 5 champions in the 9 seasons between Season 73 to Season 81. Other than the S76 and S78 outliers of Chicago Phoenix and Warsaw Predators respectively, we literally had the same three teams rotating victories. If you were on any of the Seattle Bears, Malmo Nighthawks, or the Vancouver Wolves, you would have had a high chance of winning the cup. Add to the fact that each VHL player tend to have multiple seasons to facilitate a chance of winning the Continental Cup. But isn't it the same for the VHLM? You can stay behind and be part of a stacked 200 maxed rating team, and the same few teams are always winning the Founder's Cup. It is because every VHLM team could be the same stacked team, it really does become the luck of the draw on who will end up the winner each season. Not to mention most players graduate after one season or two max for the most parts. Going by my personal experience, I have played in the VHLM, through three players, five seasons. Ironically only two teams for the five seasons, but each time the team was stacked to the brim. I know how tough and ferocious the competition is in the VHLM, coming close but no cigar not once but twice in the five seasons. With all things considered, this is probably an unpopular choice and opinion, but I believe the VHLM is the toughest league to win, mainly due to the high competitive nature and restrictions of the league itself. With Season 94 in the VHL underway, we caught up with VHL Calgary Wranglers' prospect Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment after his first week in the VHL. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! Welcome to the VHL! How was your experience after your first week playing in the VHL? Mv: Hello. It's been great! I'm having a blast playing and learning right now. Having a great time playing lots of minutes, but there's a lot of room for improvement and a long season to go. Reporter: You're playing on the top line that currently leads the VHL in scoring, what are your thoughts on your production? Mv: Honestly, it's been great! I just let (Catia) Goncalves @cLoWn and (Raimo) Tuominen @SlapshotWrangler do their thing, and I try to do my best to complement their game and not be a hindrance. Reporter: Where do you see you need to improve the most first? What part of your game are you working on? Mv: I need to improve in all areas of my game. I should work on my puck skills and skating for now to help keep up with Catia and Raimo. My game will improve over time, one step at a time. Reporter: Thank you! Best of luck in the season! After a success off season of hockey at the Junior World Championships, you are now a VHL major leaguer. What are your thoughts? Mv: Hello. It's been a terrific off season. If only we won the Gold Medal Game, it would have been even better! The VHL is a whole new ball game! That was one tough game day, not the best, but definitely a very good experience to add to my young career. Reporter: Calgary is playing you a lot to start the season, how are you utilizing the ice time to your fullest? Mv: Honestly, it's been great! All this ice time is amazing! It gives me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes and improve. The ice time gives me more opportunities to hone my skills and learn from playing with and against the best. Just let my game flow. Reporter: Thank you! Best of luck in the season! [Word count 215]

S94 VHL First Featured Game Welcome to the new season S94! Today we have our first featured game of Season 94. The first game of S94 VHL is a matchup between the visiting Calgary Wranglers and the home Seattle Bears. Both teams may appear to be in the midst of a retool, but we are bound for an exciting season debut here today for S94. The visitors Calgary Wranglers have a rusty start to S94, as the home team Seattle Bears earned early power plays in the first period of the first game of S94. Moritz Stauffer @GoodLeftUndone gets the first minor penalty of the season 0:55 into the first period. Joe Block @jblock3 gives Seattle their second power play with a High Sticking minor penalty shortly after at 4:24. Calgary killed off the two early penalties before letting Seattle Bears' Gianfranco Del Rocco @Victor score the first goal of S94, 8:07 into the first period. Toby Kadachi @ROOKIE745 doubles the Bears' lead quickly afterwards at 10:45, before taking the Bears' first penalty of the season at 13:32 giving the Calgary Wranglers life and letting the Wranglers get into the game. First Period ends with the Seattle Bears leading the Calgary Wranglers 2 - 0, shots were 20 to 16 in favour of the home team Bears. The Calgary Wranglers come out strong in the Second Period. Joe Block scores the Wranglers' first goal of S94 at 2:23 into the second period to cut the Seattle Bears lead in halve. Some rough stuff follows suit as the game becomes more nasty and mean. The two teams clearly don't like each other very much, and it's not even the playoffs, it's just the first game of the new season! Calgary gets a penalty, before drawing three straight penalties, never-the-less, the Seattle Bears played a tougher and harder game even when down a skater for six minutes in the second. Seattle Bears lead 2 - 1 after two periods while outshooting the Wranglers 15 to 8 in the second period. Moritz Stauffer gets caught for tripping earning their second trip to the sin bin early into the Third Period at 1:00. Catia Goncalves @cLoWn tied the game up for the Wranglers, Short-Handed, 2:27 into the third period. More rough stuff and minor penalties follow as the home Bears racked up the sin bin penalty minutes. Moritz Stauffer breaks the tie for the Calgary Wranglers midway in the third at 9:39, giving the Calgary Wranglers their first lead of the game and S94. A relatively even period of shots followed as the Calgary Wranglers complete the comeback and hold on for a 3 - 2 win to take the first game of the VHL in S94. Shots were in favour of the Seattle Bears 16 to 15 in the third period, and 51 to 39 for the game. Final Score 3 - 2 for Calgary. Three Stars of the Game: 1 - David Slezak (CGY) @ShawnGlade - Rookie Goaltender makes VHL debut and makes 49 of 51 saves in the 3 - 2 win (96.1% Save %) 2 - Joe Block (CGY) - 1 goal, +2, 3 Hits, 4 Shot blocks, and a game high 9 shots in 32:46 of ice time 3 - Gianfranco Del Rocco (SEA) - Rookie Skater makes VHL debut with 1 goal on 4 shots, 3 hits in 22:58 of ice time Honourably Mentioned and Game Notes: · Fuukka Rask @Jubis (SEA) makes 36 of 39 saves (92.3% Save %) in the loss · Daryl Dixon @Ricer13 (SEA) played their first game of their 9th VHL season, as a "Retired" player notching 1 Assist, -1, 8 shots, 7 hits, 1 shot blocked, won 37 / 54 face-offs (68.5%) · Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment (CGY) makes VHL debut, going -1 and winning 1 / 2 on the dot in career high 25:28 time on ice · Both teams are Perfect on the Penalty Kill; Seattle kills 8 / 8, while Calgary kills 5 / 5 penalties while also scoring a Short-Handed Goal [Word count: 674]

Week ending June 2, 2024 Answer 3 for 1 TPE / 6 for 2 TPE 1. We made three roster altering preseason transactions. Traded away Star Randy Bobandy, traded for Rookie Starter David Slezak, and calling up Rookie Forward Miner vHLer. How will these 3 transactions affect our season in S94? 2. We are running a 6 F, 3D, 1G line up. A line up style that won the Warsaw Predators their Cup in S84. Is there any shape or form that we could pull of a miracle to match that feat from 10 season ago? 3. What are your thoughts on the season debuts for our two rookies? 4. How do you feel your player will do in S94? 5. Who do you feel will be our team MVP, and why? 6. There is no more Arizona Coyotes (at least for now) in the NHL, what team name would you give the new Utah based team? -
