  4. SITR: Calgary Wranglers Season 93 Preseason Interview w/ Wranglers Legend AirRig GoodBrandSun Host: Thank you for tuning into VHL Network, Stick In The Rink! We come to you live at the Saddle Dome Studios here in Calgary, Alberta! With the start of S93 just around the corner, we have a special guest coming in to discuss about the outlook of the Calgary Wranglers heading into the season. We have Calgary Wranglers Legend AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment here tonight! Please give us a warm welcome to AirRig GoodBrandSun! Welcome AirRig! Thanks for finding time to come in today! AirRig GoodBrandSun: Thank you for having me! It is nice to meet you! (AirRig GoodBrandSun shakes hands with the Host) Host: How have you been after your retirement from the VHL? What have you been up to? AirRig GoodBrandSun: I've been well. Just enjoying my time back home. Retirement has been good. Host: Great! Should we discuss about the outlooks of the Calgary Wranglers heading into S93? What are your thoughts of how the team is looking heading into S93? AirRig GoodBrandSun: After finishing tops of the North American Conference, but followed by a disappointing playoffs last season in S92, the Wranglers are in an interesting position. I feel they're in the midst of a semi retool, but it didn't help that they did not have a high draft pick during the draft. The Wranglers look to be entering the S93 season shorthanded, but also with a bit of cap issues. 4 forwards, 3 defenseman and 2 goalies. It's going to be a pretty heavy season for the skaters. Goaltending is an area of strength of the season. However, with no goaltending prospects, that's a position to look at moving forward as well. Host: How do you feel about their skaters with the 4 forwards and 3 defenseman then? AirRig GoodBrandSun: A solid group but lacking in depth. Calgary has the top 3 positions covered required for a championship. That is, a top center in Randy Bonandy @AJW, a top defenseman in Phil Strasmore @Phil, and a star goaltender in Merome Dilson @MexicanCow123. If the Wranglers could get 2 more forwards to fit into the top 6, they will be a much more competitive team in S93. But it's going to be quite an interesting season. Shorthanded doesn't mean they won't do well. The fact that they still have their 1st round pick is also a boon. Host: How do you feel about Calgary's first selection in the second round, picking up a non-conventional style prospect in Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment? AirRig GoodBrandSun: It was a surprising selection, for sure! I did not expect to see the Wranglers' management pick up a player who only played on the 4th line in VHLm in S92 so early into the draft. Miner vHLer is an interesting player. Miner will be a fantastic leader for the Wranglers for many years to come, but you could say he may be 2 years away from being 2 years away from being an effective player in the VHL. Regardless, Miner is an impressive pickup. He is already one of the most disciplined players in the VHL so early in his career, it's going to go a long way in his development! Adding the fact that he is a fantastic leader already, definitely a potential captain material player for the Wranglers. Host: Wow! An interesting perspective! Our time is almost up! Any closing remarks? AirRig GoodBrandSun: Season 93 is going to be a wild season in the VHL. However, the wind is blowing toward an even more wild future! Most prospects are coming in Season 94, the future of the VHL is bright! Host: Thank you for your time! (AirRig GoodBrandSun and the host shakes hands again as the show cuts to commercials) [Word count 633]

  8. We caught up with VHL Calgary Wranglers' prospect Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment today after the conclusion of the S93 VHLe draft. With the end of the VHLe draft, Miner vHLer now knows where he will be playing for the upcoming S93. Drafted in the 6th round, 31st overall by the Oslo Storm, Miner will be flying to Oslo shortly to play with a team he may be quite familiar with. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! Congratulations on being drafted 31st overall by the Oslo Storm! Mv: Hello. Thanks again! Reporter: How do you feel being drafted by the Oslo Storm in the sixth round of the S93 VHLe draft? Mv: Well, to be honest, I hadn't been paying attention to the draft. And then my phone started buzzing and GM @dlamb messaged me "Welcome to Oslo!". I am pretty hyped for the opportunity to play for Oslo, and the fact that there would be so many familiar faces from playing with the Houston Bulls last season also playing for Oslo in the upcoming S93, it's going to be a fun time. Reporter: Good luck in the VHLe! Enjoy the rest of your off season. Mv: Thank you! [Word count 201]
  9. 1. you just drafted those great prospects 2. biscuit, buttered biscuit 3. everything, all the stats shall be evened out 4. well I'm drafted by Calgary Wranglers so that's my choice 5. we can win a cup 6. one, he's got to stop after he finishes the bottle as there's nothing left
  10. Welcome to the VHL S93 post-draft interview. We managed to stop a very intriguing prospect and newly drafted Calgary Wranglers for a quick interview. This is Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment, the newest edition to the Calgary Wranglers. Reporter: Hello Miner! Nice to see you again! Congratulations on being drafted 17th overall by the Calgary Wranglers! Mv: Hello. Thank you! Reporter: How do you feel being drafted by the Calgary Wranglers in the second round of the S93 VHL draft? Mv: Honestly, it was much unexpected. I did not expect to be drafted so high in this deep draft. There are a lot of good players in this draft and many who performed phenomenally better during the S92 season who got picked after me. It is truly an honour. Reporter: What are your plans to improve yourself moving forward to become a valuable asset that fits your draft position? Mv: It will be a long off season of training and followed by an even longer season of improving and playing in the VHLe hopefully. I'm still unsure of where I will be playing yet though, so it's still hard to tell where I'd be headed. But, it is great to have signed a 3 year contract so I know I'll be paid where ever I am headed. Reporter: Good luck in the S93 VHLe draft tomorrow and we look forward to your performance in S93! Mv: Thank you! [Word count 238]
  11. 1. Miner won't be joining the big club for the upcoming season, one year in the E first. 2. I like to fill up the roster, not one player would be enough 3. We need more leadership 4. Nope, because miner is a special case 5. they have the longest drought? 6. I can't skate?
  12. 1. Disappointment. Being a negative player despite only playing a little over 3 minutes a game is not the way to lead a team. 2. A little increase in every single stat would be an interesting boost for the new season 3. The locker room is a sunshine that never sets 4. Embarrassment to start a riot after only losing in Round 2, this was not even the Finals. Shake my head. 5. One person. That is all. 6. It's time to use the VHLe to help improve the Superbot into just Super minor character in preparation to the VHL. And then one day, hopefully Superbot will become not a Super minor character but a Super...
  13. The Houston Bulls finished their Season 92 VHLm regular season as the 5th seat with a record of 40 Wins, 28 Losses, 4 Overtime Losses for 84 points. The Bulls were positioned to face the San Diego Marlins in the first round of the Season 92 VHLm playoffs. The San Diego Marlins hosted a record of 39 Wins, 26 Losses, 7 Overtime Losses for 85 points. Being the lower ranked team, the Houston Bulls started their playoffs at the home of the San Diego Marlins. Houston Bulls GM @AJW is eager to see how his stacked and balanced team would match up against the Marlins. GM @AJW is also equally keen to see how having a super bench leader in Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment could affect his team's effectiveness in the playoffs. Under the roar of the packed stadium of the San Diego Marlins, the Season 92 Houston Bulls fought a valiant first playoffs game in San Diego. The San Diego Marlins got an early first goal on the powerplay by Dwight sherute @Jamomayo to lead the game 1 - 0 into the first intermission. The Bulls came out strong in the second period, scoring two goals from the hands of Barry McOckiner @LanerDUST and Benjamin Abenduct @Schnee respectively. The Houston Bulls extended their lead to 3 - 1 on a powerplay early in the Third period with a goal from Tyler Lawson @Nyx which turned out to be the Game Winner of Game One of the VHLm Playoffs Series between the Bulls and the Marlins. San Diego Marlins superstar with the same name as the GOAT of the NHL, Wayne Gretzky @MubbleFubbles scored a late powerplay goal in the Third period but Houston's Ondrej Vencko @Mutti steals game one with 26 saves to help the Houston Bulls steal home ice advantage away from the San Diego Marlins. The San Diego Marlins ties up the series with a 4 - 3 OT victory in Game Two. The Marlin's Gianfranco Del Rocco @Victor scores 2 goals to help tie the series at 1 - 1. With the series tied at 1 - 1, the Houston Bulls locker room are ecstatic to play in front of their home crowd for the first time in the playoffs. With the loud cheers of their home crowd behind them, the Houston Bulls put up a powerful show in game three and four to bring the San Diego Marlins into the brinks of elimination. In Game Three, the Marlin's Gianfranco Del Rocco matched their Game Two efforts with 2 goals, however Houston's Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher scores their first of the playoffs to help the Bulls lead the series 2 - 1 in Overtime. Chris Reynolds Jr @Crstats23scored 2 goals and Ondrej Vencko shuts the door for his first shutout of the VHLm playoffs, in a 4 - 0 Game Four victory to help the Houston Bulls head back to the San Diego Marlin's home ice with a 3 - 1 series lead. The San Diego Marlins forced a Game Six with a 5 - 2 victory at home in Game Five, under the efforts of a 2 goal performance by Dietrich Reingaard @JigglyGumballs. Heading back away to Houston for Game Six, the Bulls did not want to see a need for a Game Seven. Trimiskez Artav @jake who started the season as Captain made sure there will be no Game Seven with their 2 goals in Game Six to seal the deal in a 3 - 2 victory for the Houston Bulls. The Houston Bulls win Game Six and the VHLm playoffs series 4 - 2 against the San Diego Marlins. San Diego's Billy Joel @The goat of hockey tried their best to keep their season alive with a 2 goals effort, but ultimately their season was cut short with the Bull's victory. The Houston Bulls head on to round two to face the top team of the Season 92 VHLm regular season, Philadephia Reapers. [word count 671]
  14. 1. Good, what was expected. Stealing an away game was much needed. 2. Everything. A championship could be won by just having a flaming goalie that is an impenetrable wall 3. Undrafted. Nobody wants a declined leader 4. Everyone knows playoffs viewership is an important part of financial income 5. We express fatigue in the next game, not playing for the first period 6. A week is not enough, need a couple more weeks to start my travel plans
  15. Welcome to the regular season year-end interview for Season 92 VHLm. We managed to finally stop a very intriguing prospect and available S93 VHL draftee for a quick interview. This is VHLm prospect Miner vHLer @Rhynex Entertainment who would be entering the Season 92 VHLm playoffs with the Houston Bulls. Reporter: Hello! You must be Miner! Nice to finally meet you! There's a buzz all over the VHLm that we have an intriguing prospect who hasn't improved all season but is a very disciplined leader! Mv: Hello. You don't have to be rude about that. Reporter: Sorry! It's just a very rare occurrence to meet such a disciplined leader in the early stages of their hockey career! What are your goals for the future? Where do you see yourself in the upcoming VHL draft? Mv: I'll take that as a compliment. I have big dreams and big goals for the future, but it's a long road ahead. Need to take one step at a time. I'm not looking so far ahead to the draft, playoffs is more important at this point in time. Reporter: Then let's see you in a fortuitous, long playoff run with the Houston Bulls! Best of luck and talk to you again! [Word count 205]
  16. Review: Wow! Great read! I've always wondered about the "family" lineage of all the VHL players, now I have a place to look them up I got a little bit confused when you wrote Top 24, but understood it afterwards Great use of "Hidden Content" feature to help minimize a huge list of names. I wonder if there's going to be someone who only uses the same name and only the same name in the future? Easy to read, good spacing. Great use of tags to provide recognition to users. 10/10
  17. 1. Anything can happen in the playoffs, it's our time to shine. The worse is if you miss the playoffs 2. We're a dark horse for success 3. a minor stone in a mountain of climbing or should I say mining? 4. Diamonds - mining the rough 5. We fix world hunger, unlimited money makes unlimited food 6. work, life of a bachelor working adult
  18. Review: Very good read. Impressive stat line and goal to be a franchise leader in points. 28 points in 22 games is very much doable. On that word, I personally believe the main focus should not be to be playing focused offensive hockey. When you focus too much on offensive hockey, you start getting too aggressive and too tight, which tends to end up being counterproductive. Keeping to the basics, play your game, and not try to do too much is usually the best way to reach your goals. Harder hitting, skating hard, shooting as much as possible, etc may not be the right path, more hitting means using more energy, possibly being out of position. Shooting too much from all over and not scoring would cause mental collapse. Furthermore, removing the gloves would put you in the box, which means less time on the ice and less time to be productive. Overall very impressive record and goal, and beautiful writing. Good luck! 10/10
  19. Review: Good summary of the trade deadline. A bit hard to read as it feels a bit of like a word block, could have a bit more spacing or imaging for a little bit easier read. With so much turnover, how do you feel the changes would affect the teams? Good use of stats line to help with seeing how each player's production is so far in the season. What are your thoughts on each trade in terms of who won each trade/transaction? I personally did not follow the trade deadline, did Saskatoon and San Diego basically were part of all the trades that went by during the deadline? Overall, good information on what transactions occurred over the deadline. 8/10
  20. 1. Build chemistry, we had a lot of new arrivals 2. We're missing 2 D's to round out all other bots than the Superbot 3. We're a team that's just rolling along toward playoffs, moral will be super high come playoff time 4. There are no team I do not want to play against, we are THE team that nobody wants to play against come playoffs 5. I always thought Fridays were F'ed up Fridays where you drink and play games with friends? 6. an early future scope of GM @AJW lifting the Cup on top of their head
  21. and to make things even more intriguing, coincidentally it popped up as RW FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ you sly dog Fisted Anally by Analfist Now imagine if it went FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY
  22. Theme Week - The All-Star Tournament Game Idea (for off-season fun) After just watching the NHL All-Star week and All-Star game, there is no better theme week but to talk about a VHL All-Star game. From the sounds of things, there seemed to used to be a VHL All-Star game, and while All-Star week and All-Star game is really just a weekend of fun for kids to enjoy, it is still a wonderful concept to recognize each season's most dominate players playing in an All-Star game. Personally, I do not know whether the VHL had ever had an All-Star Game concept, however, I have an idea that may be of interest to the VHL community. While it is indeed incredibly difficult to build up All-Star teams for an All-Star game with the limited number of teams in the VHL, we could and should entertain the idea of having an offseason event where everyone would build their own All-Star line up made from having one player chosen from each VHL team for the season (and participants could start building their team after each VHL teams' lines have been finalized after the season's trade deadline, so there's plenty of time to think of how you would want to build your All-Star team line up). We could then have an offseason tournament where all submitted line ups would compete in a quick one or two day sims to see which All-Star built team of players would win the tournament, and maybe the winner(s) could get some extra TPE for their player. Something simple to keep the possibly boring off-seasons more entertaining. This would also bring people like myself, who don't normally follow the VHL as my player is not the in VHL now, to be more engaged with keeping more up-to-date with the current events of the league. Now let's have some fun as I try to build a god-awful team of All-Stars from this current VHL season 92, which could possibly have the potential to win a VHL All-Star Game Sims Tournament (abide we are not finished the season and trades could still happen with the trade deadline having not passed yet). With the rule of picking only one player from each team to build a team of 16 that could have a maximum of 12 forwards, 8 defence, and 2 goalies (although I do not know why you would want 2 goalies when you won't get to change your line up during the tournament sims, since that's too much effort and work for simmers). For the purpose of choosing a test VHL Season 92 All-Star Team Line up, and also for my preference of having a team of 9 forwards, 6 defence, 1 goaltender, and with players playing their correct positions (ie. 3 left wings, 3 centers, and 3 right wings), I choose the following players from each of their respective teams: (Please note that there are no requirements for the line ups to have each player playing in their correct position such that there's a left wing, center, and right wing for each forwards line. This is just my preference, but if we do choose to incorporate this concept as an off-season event, it may be interesting to have the All-Star Team building line up to need to meet a positional correctness requirement.) From the Season 92 Calgary Wranglers, I choose D Phil Strasmore @Phil this is a tough choice as D Skor McFleury @Alex is supposedly, at least on paper, the better defenceman, but I cannot skip on my buddy Phil. From the Los Angeles Stars, I choose G Art Vandelay @Gustav this is another hard choice as there are so many good options up front at center, but I ultimately chose goaltending from the great season Art Vandelay is currently having with the Los Angeles Stars. From the D.C Dragons, D Mark Calaway @Beketov let's be honest, choosing an All-Star Team that only allows one player from each VHL team is not easily! So many good choices, but only one option. This is why everyone's All-Star Team line up would probably differ in some way or another. I decided to choose a d-man, maybe my choice would be different if I actually spent time to compare the teams and think about my choices. From the Toronto Legion, I choose C Jimi Jaks @ke1vi I need a center, haven't chosen one yet. From the Chicago Phoenix, I choose RW Yaroslav Trunov @qripll I need a right wing to go with my center. From the New York Americans, I choose RW FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ typically I feel there would be more available centers later and FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY has a pretty nice DF. From the Vancouver Wolves, I choose D Liv Slater @Subject056 debatably the best player on the Wolves. From the Seattle Bears, I choose C Severus Targaryen @Banackock likewise debatably the best player on the Bears. From the Malmo Nighthawks, I choose D Jacob Stone @scoop dude's got a very good DF. From the Moscow Menace, I choose LW Left Alone @okochastar I need a left wing, haven't chosen one yet. From the Helsinki Titans, I choose C Daryl Dixon @Ricer13 how can I skip on Daryl Dixon? From the Prague Phantoms, I choose LW Nikolas Kauppi @Tetricide I just chose another center, definitely need another left wing. From the London United, I choose RW Molly the Cat @JCarson honestly a very tough choice between Molly the Cat and Leonard Triller @Triller Both right wingers are fantastic choices, you can't go wrong either way. I ended up choosing SC over PA. From the Warsaw Predators, I choose D Rex Wolffe Gregor @oilmandan I need two more D to fill out the team (my preference for three D pairings). From the Riga Reign, I choose LW AK92 Wit da Hoodie @hedgehog337 one of the best players and left wing to fill out my forwards. And, from the HC Davos Dynamo, I would choose D David Jokinen @Ahma an obvious choice to round out my All-Star Team line up, sorry no offense @CrlineDijohn14 This would give me the following All-Star game line up: (Noted that I did not spend too much time choosing this line-up, so it's not a very tasking activity that anyone could easily participate and join in) Rhynex Entertainment S92 test All-Star line up LW AK92 Wit da Hoodie - C Jimi Jaks - RW Molly the Cat LW Nikolas Kauppi - C Daryl Dixon -RW FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist LW Left Alone - C Severus Targaryen - RW Yaroslav Trunov D Phil Strasmore - D Jacob Stone D Liv Slater - D Mark Calaway D Rex Wolffe Gregor - D David Jokinen G Gustav Tell me your thoughts about this off-season game proposal! Who would you choose for your All-Star Game line up? [Word count: 1133] [Claim for weeks ending 2024-02-11 and 2024-02-18]
  23. 1. a bit lackluster with lots of room for improvement, it's time to pick up our game 2. I might actually write something 3. are we still allow to review stuff? 4. sharpening the skate for every minor detail 5. team awards. Hockey is a team sport 6. nope, a month flew by before I knew what happened
  24. 1. Power of playing a full team and less minutes; not miner, he's invisible and invisible is good 2. 1st we're always 1st even when we're not 1st, we're 1st in our hearts 3. mining for the diamond in the rough 4. the more shared time the better 5. sky's the limit, we could make records and reach the century mark 6. enough to be a true leader
