  1. Jivere Zolnek Junior Review Prior to joining the VHLm Jivere had a very rough journey that eventually led him to the Philadelphia Reapers. Initially a defenseman, Zolnek would oftentimes find himself pinching way too often on his Junior "B" team and his discipline was practically non-existent. The team was elite for its level however his competition was lacking and his ability to truly move up from there was not possible. Moving forward was important to Zolnek and he consulted his coaches as well as his advisor to create a gameplan on how he could improve. An undersized defenseman (as he was only 5'8" then) was not desired, and his lack of discipline defensively eventually led to his move to the forward position, but what was most important was what position there? Zonlek was moved to the Left Wing position due to his shot as he would love to cut into the slot and look to score. The repositioning was successful and week after week Zolnek started getting promoted in the lineup. Formerly a third line defenseman, he started on the fourth line. After seven games, Zolnek was elevated to the third line and the second power play unit due to his eye for scoring positions. After notching seven goals in the next ten games, Zolnek was moved up to the first power play unit and remained on the third line. Defensively, he remained a mess, and the coach saw potential in Zolnek and created an experiment in order to untap his potential. He was moved to the center position to force him to focus on defense when in even strength situations while also exploiting his scoring on the top unit. This move changed Jivere Zolnek's life and trajectory as a prospect. He finished his first year of Juniors with 43 goals in 70 games. Going into the next season he was moved to the Junior "A" team and grew 5 inches and was suddenly a 6'1" center with unbelievable scoring prowess and defensive ability. Starting on the second line and first power play unit he was able to separate himself and create a star out of himself. Finishing the year with 57 goals in 70 games in his first year in Junior "A" Zolnek was able to establish himself as a worthy VHLm player. He was called up to the Philadelphia Reapers following the end of his season to try to establish himself as a VHLm player. Sadly many teams did not believe in him given his performance there, but the Reapers did. He was chosen 78th overall and hopefully will create not only a great VHLm career but also a great VHL career!
  2. +2, alright
  3. Love these, a major reason why the VHLm/pre-draft process is amazing
  4. Gonna be a crazy day when I get a point
  5. First Pre-Draft Ranking Following his first week in the VHLm Jivere Zolnek came in 13th in total training hours and is hoping to keep and potentially increase his standing amongst the prospect pool to raise his draft stock. This is the first of many weeks for him to audition for the draft and elevate his stock and it will be difficult for him to continue to rise in the draft rankings given his playing time. On the record Zolnek has mentioned that he believes that since the team is so elite game playing time is less important. As he is continuously practices at a high level versus some of the top players in the VHLm he can survive that trade-off. If Zolnek were to be playing for a less talented team it would be an issue however he continues to persevere and look to develop. Looking to the future, Zolnek can really start making an impact later in the season and can see his playing time increase due to his time on the Penalty Kill. This will be his key to more playing time similar to how baseball players can breakthrough by running the bases well. Hopefully he can continue to persevere and push towards self betterment as the season continues.
  6. 1. I don't think it's a singular X-factor, it has got to be the depth and how talented we are throughout the whole lineup 2. For me, being able to be drafted back to this great franchise again 3. Wins, I dn't need points to be happy 4. I am in the SBA, huge fan of my boy @gorlabeven tho we're not teammates 5. No clue, but hopefully someone great! 6. It's enough, I'll be better soon and start pushing for some real playing time.
  7. We can lose?
  8. oooo free 2 sgo
  9. Just one game? Guess no one wants to play us
  10. We're unreal
  11. First Two Games Two big wins to start off the official start to my VHLm career after the brief trial last year. Knowing that I am still an unpolished player, playing time was going to be an uphill battle. Despite only logging about 10 minutes through the first two games I am content with where I stand and I know that in the future I need to work that much harder in order to get playing time on as strong of a team that we have now. Focusing on my development is what is most important as that will inevitably make the game more fun for me as well as get me more minutes. These upcoming weeks I am going to be focusing on my skating, scoring, and defense as those are essential to me improving my output on the ice. I know that in the short time that I am out there that if I can create scoring chances while also playing elite defense that maybe I can make an impact in a few games this year. The end goal here is becoming the best possible player that I can be and that means preparing myself for the VHL and my next VHLm season. At this current time, those are my goals.
  12. This is too easy
  13. 1) I expect a championship, we're absolutely loaded throughout the whole lineup. 2) Be the best role player that I can be, I know next year will be my time to shine 3) First time we did off-ice training, I got my ass kicked and knew I could get back into it soon. 4) The weight room, you have to show what makes us better on the ice for them to truly understand how we improve. 5) We make a stick made out of heavy ass iron, we can barely drag ourselves up and down the ice during practice. It's amazing to train us for games when we use breakable sticks 6) I'm choosing Eric Andre, can you imagine having him at a hockey game?
  14. Officially Joining The Reapers While being away for most of the weekend, I luckily logged back on to the VHL to see that I was drafted fairly late in the VHLm draft by the Philadelphia Repears. I legitimately could not be happier to be placed back in Philadelphia for two different reasons. One being that I had previously chosen to play for the Repears when I originally joined the VHLm. In addition, the familiarity with the franchise is one that I will enjoy and I can be comfortable continuing in the LR I first acclimated to. I understand that we will be amongst the favorites in the VHLm this season thus meaning that I likely will not be getting too much playing time. Luckily I have other means of maintaining activity that hopefully will carry through until my player is able to produce results worth continuously checking back game threads. Hopefully I could make an impact on the special teams and provide great defense and hopefully some scoring as I go through my real rookie season in the VHLm. Hopefully this will all be worth it with a championship and hopefully a VHL career that rivals the careers which I have achieved in other leagues.
  15. 1) I think it's amazing, it will hopefully breed much more activity 2) It makes me want to work even harder for my playing time 3) I don't know exactly, but I'll be a great two-way player for the team 4) I love Philly, and I want to make an impact here 5) I want to have an extremely healthy +/- 6) I see us near the top, I think we have the correct pieces to compete
  16. 1. I'm working on my skating, it's so important to be able to get into position efficiently and being quicker will help. 2. I don't know, I haven't been able to watch. 3. I also don't know but I'm rooting for Helsinki. Goes back to when I had many friends there 4. I love watching the NFL during the offseason 5. I'm bringing a skate... come on man, I'll have a blade in hand 6. Fencing... I feel like that's easy
  17. Let's roll to Philly
