  5. 1. I feel like we have one of the best and deepest teams out there. I would love for us to go far and I think we can go all het way. 2. I think he is our star, without him we fell much shorter than where we're at currently. 3. Not well honestly, it is extremely cold and quite hard to have the sun go down so early in the day. 4. Yeah I try to drive down with a few of my teammates and avoid the team bus. 5. I used to be a VHLm GM, was a SBA GM both minor and in their major leagues and used to sim for the SMJHL! 6. Gotta get ready for the cold climate, gotta bust out some big jackets!
  6. Did well in terms of face-offs today
  7. oooo my first goal! Need to win more face-offs though
  8. Zolnek Starts Working On His Weaknesses Coming into his third week in the VHLm, Jivere Zolnek has started to fill in some of the holes in his games. Frequently turning the puck over, Zolnek was brought to the side by the coaching staff and was told that his issues giving away the puck have hurt the team in his small minutes on the ice. The next week full week of practice, Zolnek had shifted his focuses from skating and scoring to puck handling and his ability to help the team keep possession. As a heavy Penalty Kill minute eater it is important that his ability to get the puck and keep it will help the team whenever they lose discipline. If he can prove that he can be a possession player it would be expected to help his draft stock and his ability to bring his game to the VHL. His skating and his scoring can easily translate, however giveaways are a killer especially as hockey has become a game that emphasizes possessions. Jivere is looking forward to the draft and his eyes are on the prize in terms of getting drafted as high as possible and making himself appealing to a high end organization.
  9. Not a good sim, we'll bounce back
  10. 1) I would say that at the end of the day we can only play through the playoffs once. If you give us a ton of shots and re-do it then I'd say we'd be the favorite to win in the most, we just have to win it once and when it matters. 2) It has to be a cheesesteak on a bloody scythe, put it all together. 3) Not very often, I care more about our day-to-day results. 4) Everyone is contributing an buying in, that is what is most important. 5) Hard work, again our top lines and depth are great but we need to show up every night. 6) The food is amazing, and there are some nice views for sure!
  11. not my pic but I ate one from there about a week ago haha
  12. Review: Big fan of this as it is definitely different, albeit I haven't looked at Hockey based graphics in a while. I like how stylistically the text is the main takeaway of the sig and a large part of the sig. I think the render being the second part of it is interesting and done to near perfection. The stock work is clearly there and you can tell that you put plenty of time in. The lighting is subtle yet adds again to the eyes. I would say the part on the right is slightly distracting as there are two vertical slabs (I assume the boards), yet I also think it again leads the eyes. I would maybe look at cutting/re-orienting the sig so it has only one of those there. Apart from that I love the creativity and how different it is. Done extremely well! 10/10
  13. Review: Interesting job on the sig, I do like how the bottom of the sig has something similar to a ticker with the Helsinki Titans name. I would say that it would be great if you could integrate the logo a little more. It sticks out a bit and catches the eye despite being in the bottom right portion of the sig. There was a Gorlab guide (definitely still is one) where you can really split the sig into parts, and you don't want to subjugate a part of the sig that takes the eyes in a corner. I would personally move the text over a little, again don't want it directly on the side. The background on it works well however it is a little repetitive. I do like the blending near the bottom of the jersey, some lighting and stock work could have helped bring the eye more towards the render and firmly round out the sig. Good work! 7/10
  14. holy shit got my 1st and 2nd point today!
  15. Jivere Zolnek Prospect Scouting Report VHLm player Jivere Zolnek will be a part of the S76 VHL draft and will hopefully hear his name called way before where it was called in the VHLm draft. He was drafted 78th overall in the VHLm draft to the Philadelphia Reapers and has not made much of an impact however we can still develop a report that evaluates his strengths and weaknesses. Through 35 games he has just one point which was an assist -- one of his weaknesses. Let's dive into his strengths and weaknesses to learn what this 6'3" Center out of the USA can add to a VHL team in the future. Strengths: Skating: You have to be able to move to get open and to make an impact and if there is one thing Zolnek can do it is to move and get open. This leads to his ability to get into important areas of the ice quickly and if his brain can work together with his speed it can create a massive advantage for him. Defense: Jivere Zolnek originally was a defenseman prior to the VHLm and his ability as a pure defender carried over. His move from that position mainly stemmed from a lack of discipline and not necessarily his defensive ability. Zolnek has amazing vision and coupled with his skating ability he can make up for mistakes that his teammates can make. It will be expected for him to be able to be a shutdown Center in the VHLm in due time Scoring: He is a pure scorer, and it is as simple as it gets. With amazing skating ability and defending this is one other ability that perfectly compliments the way that he plays. A reason for him becoming a forward is his accuracy in his shot. Prior to his growth spurt, Zolnek was purely an accuracy scorer however now he can fire them past the goalies. I expect his shot to start making an impact in the VHLm soon and I expect him to be a plus scorer in the major league. Weaknesses: Discipline: This goes along with his defending really. Zolnek has trouble forcing himself into a position and relies mainly on his natural ability. This discipline does not relate to the penalty box but it relates to him playing within his own game. Hero ball could be an issue in the future, but as of now he seems to have quelled those concerns in the VHLm. Checking: Despite his large 6'3" 213 pound frame, Zolnek has difficulty forcing people off of the puck. Hitting is not his expertise and you should not expect him to be a physical player. Passing: He hates passing, and he cannot be someone who is expected to set others up. His passing extends from when he gets the puck from the other team to give to a teammate to eventually get it back to him. Do not expect him to get many assists and expect him to make some errant passes at nearly all points.
