  3. 1. Playoff time baby!!! Do we bear Yukon? And how many games if so! Beat them like a raging bear we will. 4 games to 2. 2. Dawson ( @Toast ) led the team in goals and points through the regular season, does this continue in the playoffs? I sure hope so, but i wont be mad if someone else is all over it. 3. Which series do you think will have the biggest upset? I dont even know what the other series' are off hand but probably a lower seed knocking off a higher one. 4. Was @Ricer13 losing his phone a sign of bad luck and bad things to come or a good sign of out with the old and in with the new?! I am not really a superstitious man, but i'll take it as a good omen. get to know you questions: 5. How many siblings do you have? 2 full blood brothers, one half brother, one half sister from the other half. 6. Whats one concert that is on your bucket list? Sabaton concert.
  4. Miami Marauders Press conference for week ending 1/31/21: 1. 11 games into the season we sit 2nd place in the eastern conference; can we keep this pace all season? Keep it, improve upon it, you know. I mean why settle for anything less than the best? 2. Who on the Marauders has been the biggest surprise so far this season? Me because I was nowhere near any good in the back half of last season and started the first few games with not much either. Now i am nearly point per game? 3. What other team in the VHLM do you consider our rivals? I have yet to build a major hatred for anyone in the VHLM thus far. Honestly if we have any historical rivals that could be good. 4. Do you put much stock into your players plus/minus during the season? +/- is very much a team stat. If the team is keeping pucks out of the net and scoring, i will be a major +. If we suffer defensively, i may be a major -. Get to know you questions: 5. How tall are you in real life? 5'6" , Seriously. 6. Least favourite holiday and why? Easter because we dont really do anything fancy like have a huge planned dinner.
  5. Bonjour. I am sure you are aware by now that the greatest military man Europe has ever produced has now been drafted in both the VHL and VHLM. The teams that have drafted me are run by wise individuals. The other players are men and women of the finest qualities both on and off the ice. Allow me to focus on the team that decided on me for the VHLM draft. I came into the draft not knowing where I would end up. I knew I was recognized enough as a player that would go in the first few rounds. I hadn’t heard from many teams so I started wondering if I as even being considered to be drafted. The first round went by and as expected the stars of the draft were taken one by one. The second round goes by and you start to see teams reach further down the draft to grab project type players. I start to feel like I have a chance to be taken soon. The third round comes and goes and still no one has picked me yet there is still a ton of great talent on the board. We move on to the fourth round and I’m patiently waiting for my name to be called but again I here nothing. I shut the tv off thinking that this wasn’t going to be my year. Maybe I’d have to sign as a free agent some where and prove that I belonged in this league. I was about to go to bed that night when I got the call. The Miami Marauders had taken me in the S76 Draft. I could not believe what I was hearing. My dreams were coming true and it didn’t matter where and when I was taken in the draft but someone took a chance on me and that was Miami. It was absolutely insane how far i fell in this draft, me, Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France. Tamer of Italy under the olive trees. Conqueror of the land of Pharaohs. Why would nobody pick me? Hockey is said to be no place for short people, yet i am no shorter than the average man from my time. I have more TPE than most who went before me. Did someone perhaps pay the other leaders to let me drop to them? Is it because i was no longer as active in the general VHL chat? Is it perhaps that i am supposed to be over 200 years old? Who is to say? How can a man who had conquered most of the greatest lands of his day not be expected to do the same on the ice for his beloved teams? Would the teams in Germany, Austria, and Poland not be in fear and awe? Would those in London not quiver in their boots and have their stomachs and stools turn to mush knowing i shall set foot in these places again? These games may yet be won long before we make our stunning arrivals. Perhaps they will say that i am nothing, that i cannot play, that they have men who have conquered more to face against me. I say i am Napoleon. I am Emperor!
  6. 1. Draft season is over! How do you feel about being drafted by Miami and or how do you like the new additions? Happy that somebody decided to draft me. I know i am old, but these Bones wont fall apart. 2. What do you hope to accomplish as a player this upcoming season? Putting up more than 8 points would be a nice start. 3. This season should be a competitive one despite our transition to youth! How far do you think Miami can go? Lets make the playoffs first. Once we are in, anything is possible. 4. What is your favourite task to earn every week? Practice. JK Pressers honestly, because i can come up with whatever answers i want. Get to know you questions: 5. Favourite NHL team. St. Louis Blues. 6. Dream Job? Being a Sailor on a boat. Would you look at that?
  7. After the end to the Houston Bulls season, Napoleon knew they had lost. They lost the war. It was hard to take, sure they joined the team half way through the year, and sure they had their ups and downs with top players being traded. That does not mean they had any excuses to lose.....as far as Napoleon is concerned. Genghis would no doubt agree, guy never loses and would hate to be alive on the losing side. Alexander? Forget about it, probably drinking his face off in a rage right now. The leaning tower looms in a gloom in any room. Now it might seem irrational right? Team lost some defense to inactivity, had to trade a capped guy, brought in a backup goalie, dug up the dirt on another historical leader. All this just to miss out on the playoffs. Napoleon went back to his home to do what he always does. mope. The often melancholy Emperor of France and now solid forward in the sport of hockey moped like a 12 year old. I mean when the world goes against you, sometimes depression is hard to fight. It does not take much either. To give it your all and have it not be enough? Do you accept the defeat? What would you do? Nappy headed his way on out, where to none know.....maybe not even he yet. Pulling up in his town car to a row of unmarked brick buildings and stepping out. Great coat engulfing him as he comes to one of those unmarked cellar doors. A peaky slider opens, Napoleon Glares into it from the top of the stairs, before walking down them, the door unlocking once he does. "Very funny Tower, could make ze short jokes about anybody else" The 5'6" Frenchman (Italian Corsican in reality) walked right passed the smoke room which held the poker, foosball, and billiards tables and headed straight toward the large room at the far side. A small side room swallows him up, soon he returns in a tank top and powerlifter shorts? So then, dressed as a modern powerlifter, Nappy gets to work. First he stretches, then he runs some cardio on the treadmill. Before long he is working the weights. Arm curls, bench presses, hell you name it, he is doing it. Guy is going hard and not even bothering to stop for food. Day in, day out, training, working, running, pull ups, weights, laps in the pool in the clubhouse. EVERYTHING! Out on the ice? speed bag while skating so he has the strength to FLY around the ice. He comes back to the clubhouse? Time to work out. Once done, nothing but quick, easy food thrown together in order to quickly bulk up. Chicken Parms, roast chicken, BBQed salmon, steaks quickly grilled. You name it, he is eating, working, and going nuts. Too bad he is still 5'6" All the working out cannot fix being short compared to other athletes. What will Napoleon Bonaparte do? Find out next week on Napoleon's offseason Word Count is 507
