  1. Todd Cooke just closed out his VHLE rookie season as a renaissance cup champion!

while Cooke struggled early on to adjust his game and really find his footing in the latter half of the season he really broke out and proved his worth as a player in Oslo ! He built on the momentum and was a huge part of Oslo’s playoff run finishing tied for 4th in points and 2nd in assists ! “This season couldn’t have gone any better for me ! I’m so privileged and lucky to have been a part of the storm this past season ! I learnt a lot and really developed as a player ! “ Cooke said in an interview after the final game of the playoffs.

Cooke now looks ahead to S86 and joining the LA Stars , Cooke will finally get a chance and  look to contribute to an up and coming Stars squad ! “ I couldn’t be more excited to get things going, I’m going to enjoy these next couple days with my teammates here in Oslo , then the real work begins moving to the stars next season.”

  2. The Storm got it done ! I present to you your S85 renaissance cup winning team the Oslo Storm !

After finishing first in the VHLE Oslo carried their momentum into the Playoffs ! Oslo started things off in the Second round against the Vasteras Iron Eagles . In what many thought to be a Goaltending battle between Henry Tucker Jr and Matt Murdoch we weren’t disappointed! Even though Oslo jumped out to a 3-0 series lead all 3 games were very very close and could’ve easily gone either way ! Vasteras didn’t go quietly they battled back taking games 4 and 5 With there backs against the wall ! Game 6 was another tight games with Oslo ultimately coming out on top 3-1 final score ! The goalies stole the show all series , this one could’ve easily gone either way !

Oslo would then eventually meet Cologne in the Final ! This series was another tight one with both teams splitting the first 2 games , Oslo would then take games 3 and 4 and go up 3 games to 1 . Looking to close out the series in 5 Cologne  would play a lights out game not giving Oslo an inch bringing the series to 3-2 . In game 6 Oslo bounced back taking it 3-2 final after the teams captain Jon Webber Jr would seal the deal with a DOUBLE OT goal !

This season was one for the books as @JB123took a team that finished last in the VHLE Last season. And turned them into a team that ran the table from opening night to the final game of the playoffs ! Whether it was bringing in players via the draft , free agency , or via trade @JB123did absolutely everything he possibly could to assemble a winning team ! And when he wasn’t building and tweaking the roster he was spending countless hours reviewing games and making adjustments to the lineup and strategies to put the best possible team on the ice. JB was always looking on how to improve and keep getting better ! This team was special ! Unbelievable Offence , Defence , Goaltending ! Really no real weaknesses anywhere . All the players bought in early and worked together to achieve the ultimate goal of winning the renaissance cup in S85 . To every single person in the Oslo organization I wanna send out a heartfelt thank you for making this season one to remember! Every single one of you contributed one way or another to the team and brought something to the table both on the ice and in the locker room ! It was my pleasure being a part of this group as a player and an AGM

    Looking Ahead !!

While Oslo will be losing a lot of key players from S85 , they will be retaining a lot of important and big pieces as well . We also can’t forget about the exciting prospects waiting in the wings to try and help Oslo run it back next season for the repeat ! The real work starts now stay tuned as Oslo will look to have another successful season in S86

  4. Oslo Storm Press Conference

    week ending 10/23/2022

    1. Regular season is over , overall how did we do ?

    2. Out of the many candidates who was our regular season mvp ?

    3. Our first round series is against Vasteras what will be the key to coming out on top in that series ?

    4. How do you view your regular season as a whole ?

    5. NHL regular season is now underway whos exceeded your expectations so far ?

    6. Does connor Bedard go first overall this coming summer in the NHL draft ?

  5. I did this back in s84 with the Houston Bulls I figured I’d do it again this season with the Oslo Storm. Let’s get it going !

    John Jameson ( @Frank) C

    Leon Draisatl

Oslo’s 1st overal pick from the S85 draft Jameson is a big bodied centre that puts the puck in the net and can pass and set up plays  . Jameson is leading the league in goals and points and is in third for assists . Easily to League MVP ind my honest opinion for this season

Jon Webber Jr ( @Webberj) LW

    Mikko Rantanen

Webber is another big body , that can put up points and also rack up the assists aswell ! Webber dominates the play anytime he’s on the ice and quite honestly he’s a difference maker anytime he’s on the ice !

    Juan Sano lll ( @denns) C

    Elias Pettersson

What Sano lacks in size he makes up for in heart work ethic and skill ! This guy is a difference maker all over the Ice , not to mention in the locker room . Sano is only going to keep getting better as time goes on .

    Gus Bentley ( @boatsinking123) RW

    Kevin Fiala

Gus has been quietly one of Oslo’s best players , leading the league in goals multiple times early in the season ! Bentley has been very under rated all year he’s a Great player and Oslo is extremely lucky to have him on the roster

    Todd Cook C

    Tage Thompson

Cooke is a big bodied Centre who’s settled in nicely on Oslo’s second forward line . He gives 100% every night , his early season struggles have translated into late season successes as he’s heated up down the stretch !

    Akio Suzuki ( @Erik) C

    Nic Bjugstad

Another bigger Centre who while he doesn’t score all that much has lots of value as a guy that works hard in the corners and gets the puck . He also grinds down top lines of opposing teams . Suzuki defensively is a stalwart and important piece to Oslo’s makeup

    Lorenzo Cobberson ( @Hendrix Cobberson) C

    Jordan Greenway

Cobberson gives you everything he has in the tank every game he works hard and while

his impact might not always be on the scoresheet. But he impacts the game in so many different ways ! His importance is felt by making space and time for players.

    David Cobberson ( @David Cobberson) C

    Curtis Lazar

The other Cobberson on Oslo has been a very important energy guy on the ice . He’s relentless on the forecheck  much like his brother . They never give up and always leave it on the ice !

    Arthur Kimura ( @FBR) RW

    Derek Ryan

A veteran in the VHLE kimura gives a lot of depth on the third line for Oslo . Whether it’s depth scoring or winning battles he’s a valuable depth guy for us.

    Defensemen

    Nicholas Blue ( @lidz)

    Aaron Ekblad

Blue has been the backbone of Oslo’s d core all year . Playing awesome defence , quarterbacking the power play . Quite simply he’s everything you want in a number 1 defenceman !

    Babushka ( @BrutalBoost

    John Carlson

Babushka was a huge deadline acquisition for Oslo he complements the d core very well ! Again everything you want in a top pairing defenceman in this league ! He’s come as advertised and been everything Oslo hoped for when they picked him up !

    Reid Johnson ( @TopTiddee2)

    Devon Toews

Johnson has been steady all year for Oslo playing up and down the lineup . A great 2 way defenceman that’s only gonna get better as his career continues on !

    Brodie Landry lll ( @Brodie_Landry )

    Ryan Pulock

Landry has been a great defensive defenceman for Oslo he can calm the play down and makes a great breakout pass everytime .  Seemingly never out of the play or position!

    Quinn Clark ( @axtron)

    Darnell Nurse

Clark was the other defenceman acquired at the deadline , like Babushka he’s come as advertised and helped solidify the storms back end ! Oslo is ecstatic to have Clark as a part of their d core !

    Goaltenders

    Henry Tucker Jr ( @NSG)

    Andre Vasilevskiy

Tucker has been literally huge in net for Oslo all year . With no real flaws in his game he’s poised to be a top Goalie in the league for many years to come !

    Sam Tombstone ( @samthemancub)

    Jake Oettinger

Sam has helped form a formidable goalie duo he’s been solid all year for Oslo all year whenever called upon ! His future is also very bright !

    GM

    @JB123

    Joe Sakic/Steve Yzerman

JB has single handedly taken Oslo from the worst record last year to First place in the VHLE this year . He hasn’t sacrificed the future of his team at all either Oslo looks to be a contender for years to come !!

  6. I’m what was a huge season of growth and learning for VHLE rookie center Todd Cooke we look back at his pivotal learning year in his hockey career.

Cooke came to Oslo with a group of highly touted prospects from the S84 draft . All of whom were looking to help take Oslo to the next level ! He established himself as a big center that could play up and down the lineup and contribute on the scoresheet . The first 20-25 games were huge in Cooke’s development he learnt where he needed to focus his training to take his game to the next level , and boy did that pay off the last 2/3 of the season Cooke really took off as a player and gave Oslo the Big impact centre from the Houston bulls they thought they had when they drafted him last year.

Cooke is now solely focused on making the playoffs and helping Oslo win a championship trophy ! Then taking the next step in his hockey career and taking his game to sunny Los Angeles to play with the Stars .

the future is bright for this kid that’s forsure !

  7. Oslo press Conference

    Week ending 10/16/2022

    1. Playoffs are right around the corner what’s the key to a successful post season ?

    2. What’s your go to travel activity on road trips with the team ?

    3. Oslo’s new mascot is about to be revealed what is your name suggestion ?

    4. Do you have any Pre game rituals or superstitions ?

    5. the MLB playoffs are well underway what’s your predictions / biggest surprises so far ?

    6. would you rather win a game 1-0 or 8-7 ?

  8. The draft was still yet to arrive, which would fill some key holes on the roster. @l1l krzy l9l had valuable input prior to draft night, and has only done more and more for the team as time has gone on, extending into an AGM role.

best decision I could’ve made this season @JB123 thanks for the opportunity to be AGM of this team. Couldn’t have asked for a better guy to learn from or a better locker room to be a part of

  9. Game 221 Recap

This was a game featuring 2 of the top teams in the VHLE . Vasteras jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period . Bratislava took control of the game in the second period and tied the game 2-2 . Vasteras goalie kept them in the game through the thirds and ot . Ultimately the watchmen came out on top in the 4th round of the shootout final score 3-2 for Bratislava .

  10. Game 209 review

In a game where most people would’ve viewed Stockholm as the favourite against Istanbul , the underdog Red Wolves stole a game from the Vikings despite being heavily outshot 30-44 by a score of 3-1 . Istanbul goalie Shaun Young stood on his head making 43 saves to secure the victory for the red wolves !

  11. Well the trade deadline has up and passed and the Oslo storm are rolling into the playoffs ! GM @JB123and AGM KRZY we’re busy working the phones trying to add that big piece to push Oslo over the top! And it appears they have done just that !

On September 29th Oslo made a huge trade with Geneva here was the deal .

    Oslo receives

    Babushka

    Quinn Clark

    S87 Geneva 4th

    Geneva recieves

    Honor Solyom

    S86 Oslo 1st

    S86 Oslo 3rd

Babuska has come as advertised putting up 20 points in 10 games so far for the storm ! Clark has also added stability too the backend in Oslo aswell playing very good in the 10 games he’s suited up in .

This trade has really solidified Oslo’s backend and added some extra depth as well.

Oslo has a lot of momentum right now and the are looking to keep building going into the playoffs!

only time will tell but one thing is forsure they are definitely on the right track !

  12. Well I forgot about theme week early last week and put together a media spot before it was announced. So I figure now is as good a time as ever to catch up and put out my theme week spot now.

First off what makes a good GM ? Well the answer is in my honest opinion quite simple . An individual who’s committed to putting together the best team they possibly can . While helping players grow and learn the in and outs of the league . A good GM also has good relationships with league staff and other GM’s throughout the leagues. Anyone can put a team together . But a great GM makes a team like a family.

I wanna take a minute to look back on my first few GM’s I’ve had the pleasure of playing for in my early tenure in the VHL.

First off we have @lil OG z without him I would’ve never been as interested in the VHL as I am not would I have gotten hooked either. He showed me the best ways to earn and how to earn the most TPE possible week in and week out. OG also helped me prepare for the S84 Draft as best I could. Without OG and his early influence and help I don’t think I’d enjoy being a part of this league or community as much as I do .

Next we have @AJWAJ was the GM that took a flyer on me in the first round of the VHLM draft in S84 . AJ built a phenomenal team in Houston that year he always kept the locker room engaged and was always super positive . ( this was the first season I used discord ) . A real result of his influence from that season is just how many players are staring in the VHL,VHLE, and VHLM this season . AJ helped a lot of them in more ways then one !

finally we have my GM this season @JB123JB was one of the first people who showed any type of interest in me in the S84 draft as he was the first team I interviewed with . All the way through S84 and into S85 we communicated and achieved the ultimate goal of Todd Cook playing for Oslo this season together. JB should also be recognized for being the man in charge of Oslo’s huge turn around from last season where they went from a last place finish to leading the VHLE  this season. JB also gave me the honour of learning the management ropes under his mentorship and guidance. He’s not only helped me as a player this season but in the management aspect too . And I can’t thank him enough for that .

I wanna also give a special shout-out to @InstantRockstarthank you for giving me the opportunity to eventually earn a spot playing for you on the stars. You’re an excellent GM and I look forward to learning from you aswell .

These 4 guys are the definition of what it takes to be a great GM . And I can’t thank them enough for all the help and support I’ve gotten from them the past 3 seasons!

  13. Oslo Storm Press conference

    week ending 09/10/2022

    1. With us being theme week what to you makes a good Gm ?

    2. we recently added babushka and Quinn Clark what do you think they’ve added to our team ?

    3. If you had to recreate next season what kind of player would you go with ?

    4. What’s the biggest surprise this VHLE season in your opinion ?

    5. Who has been the biggest surprise in the NHL pre season this year ?

    6. Who wins the Calder trophy as NHL rookie of the year this season

  14. VHLE rookie Todd Cooke of the Oslo Storm was asked to build his perfect hockey player for todays game . There are numerous important traits that contribute to a great hockey player. Let’s take a look at the player he built.

the traits he picked from are the following

    Hands,IQ,Speed,explosiveness,shot, One timer,Strength,passing,Leadership,Physicality, and Grit

    Hands - Patrick Kane

His hands are undeniably the best in the NHL how could you not want his hands . The guy can stick handle his way out of a phone booth.

    IQ - Connor Mcdavid

He thinks the game at such a high level always seems to make plays out of literally nothing . Always 2-3 steps ahead his mind is constantly looking for the next move.

    Speed - Connor Mcdavid

The fastest player in the NHL he does everything at an exceptionally high speed ! I’ve never seen someone skate as fast as he can with and without the puck !

    explosiveness - Nathan Mackinnon

this one was tough but ultimately I chose mackinnon over mcdavid , due to the fact that his explosiveness can straight up take over a game in an instant. This is evident in his playoff performances over the years past.

    Shot - Austin Matthews

without a doubt the best release in the game . He’s easily todays best goal scorer and will go down as one of the best all time !

    One timer - Alex Ovechkin

they guy has made a living doing this , is on his way to being the all time leader in goals scored in the NHL and a fair few of them have come courtesy of his patented one timer .

    Strength - Jamie Oleksiak

I really wanted to pick chara on this one but with him retiring I think I picked the next best option . This guy is a complete beast and manhandles his opponents. Definitely someone I wouldn’t want to make angry.

    Passing - Leon Draisatl

Leon has the ability to pass flawlessly on both his forehand and backhand . The guy can find anyones tape from just about anywhere .

    Leadership - Jonathan Toews

Capitain Serious, this guy is easily the best leader in the game in todays NHL . He leads on and off the ice . And is a very well respected individual around the league .

    Durability - Phil Kessel

say what you want about the guy but he’s on track to break the iron man streak . He hasn’t missed a game in forever . That’s gotta mean something

    Physicality - Ryan reaves

Never shies away from contact and is usually always among the league leaders in hits . The guy is a game breaker in that department.

    Grit - Brady Tkachuk

love him or hate him this kid plays a hard nosed in you face game of hockey every single night.

with all of these traits Cooke believes a player could go down as one of the best to ever play the game hands down . Anyone of these attributes could make a player an impact player but with each and every one listed a single player could dominate the league and single-handedly piggy back their team to multiple championships .

  15. So I’m gonna do something a tad different with this article to try and engage people. What is the most important position in hockey ?

    Center

first off we have the center their job is to win the face off to get possession of the puck after every stoppage in play a huge part of the game ! They also 99% of the time run the offence . and help cover defensively in their end down low when needed .

    Wingers

Ideally wingers should be fast and able to get in position for breakouts , while not always as defensive as the other positions they do have to be somewhat defensively responsible in there own end . Wingers can also run the offence like centre men but most of the time to a lesser degree.

    Defence

Defence men are very important because they help goalies keep the puck out of the net and the also begin the transition from defence to offence when they run a breakout. Offensively defence is important because they ( quarterback) a power play and can open up ice for forwards in the offensive zone as well

    Goalie

finally we have the goalie there job is quite straight forward keep the puck out of the net , goalies can quite often determine the outcome of a game whether it be positive or negative .

in terms of overall importance I have them ranked as follows

    1. Goalie

    2. Centre

    3. defence

    4 wingers

ps . Arguably with centre and defence I could’ve gone either way

  16. Oslo Storm Press Conference

    Week ending 10/02/2022

    1.  Oslo has been on a roll as of late what’s the biggest key to our success as a team ?

    2. if we could add 1 player to our team who would you add and why ?

    3. at the halfway point we have many deserving candidates for team MVP who’s your pick ?

    4. What are 3 drills you’d like to see incorporated into team practice ?

    5. NHL preseason is underway what team do you think improved the most this off-season?

    6. who do you got leading the NHL in goals and points once the season is over this spring

  17. Game 96 recap

in what was looked at as an easy win for Bratislava against Stockholm in a battle of 2 teams trending opposite directions. They were heavily upset . Stockholm jumped out to an early lead in the first period , controlling the tempo of the game . The watchmen wouldn’t be outdone tho tying the game up at 2 in the second period . In the third period tater Tottingham put a bow on the game . Stockholm never looked back and took the game by a 2-1 final score in a close back and forth game .

  18. Game 95 recap

here we have the Vasteras Iron Eagles taking on the Cologne Express. In a battle for third place in the VHLE the iron eagles struck first and ended the first period ahead 2-1 despite being out shot 12-7 by the express. Cologne knotted things up at 2 in the second and heavily outshot the eagles 18-6 . The 3rd period was much of the same with cologne keeping the pressure on and the eagles goalie delivering a huge backpack performance. Through overtime the game was not settled . The eagles scored on the first shot of the shootout that would be all they needed to steal this game from the express 3-2 final . Basileus Jute delivered in net for the iron eagles stopping 41 of 43 shots and all shots in the shootout .
