  1. Well it’s that time once again for me to compare players on my team to their NHL counterparts. Let’s get started

    Forwards

    Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems C Tage Thompson

LA’s Captain is huge for the Stars on and off the ice , seemingly always getting better and amazing the team with his skill and work ethic Sirdsvaldis has been the energizer bunny for this team the last few seasons , and appears to be well on his way to having another successful and productive season this year in LA

    Vinny Detroit LW Matthew Tkachuk

LA’s newest addition plays a very physical game and also puts up the points while he might not be the same size as Tkachuk Vinny plays a similar type of game never one afraid to shy away from the physical aspect of the game . Vinny will be a huge player this year for the Stars . On another note Vinny is also

Chasing a milestone for most career hits in the VHL . LA is lucky to have one of the greatest power forwards in VHL history on their team this year !

    Todd Cooke C Dylan Cozens

Cooke is a promising Young forward trying to find his way and contribute to the success of LA . Cooke while not having the start he’s wanted is still very promising and is still looking to have a productive season for the Stars this year .

    DB lll C Tyler Seguin

A veteran of the VHL and the Stars DB provides offence and works hard every single shift . DB has been exactly the type of player you want to play with as well as the type of player that makes GM’s salivate at the lips for . He plays whatever role you need him to and seemingly never makes a bad play . DB will be another important cog in the LA offensive system this year .

    Jason Argos RW Zach Hyman

Jason argos has in recent years been more of a dependable depth option for the Stars but he looks poised to have a breakout season this year they gritty hard nosed forward never takes a shift off and doesn’t shy away from the dirty areas to make a play. This player is hoping his emergence will help propel the Stars into the playoffs this season .

    Sunglasses Joyo C Matty Beniers

Joyo is a young exciting rookie bringing championship pedigree and youthful enthusiasm to the Stars. Joyo is known for wearing his sunglasses everywhere even on the ice during games , legend has it that without the sunglasses Joyo wouldn’t know how to play hockey . Personally I think Joyo has a very good chance to compete for rookie of the year this year !

Now that the forwards are done let’s move to the defenders

    Callum Murray , Rasmus Dahlin

this towering defender is having one heck of a season early on posting multi multiple point games so far , he’s also very solid in his own end and makes one of the best first passes on the breakout I have ever seen . Murray is starting to come into his own as an elite defenceman in the VHL and he will only get better as time goes on.

Scoish Velociraptor Maliosh , Cale Makar

Maliosh is having an excellent season so far and like Murray he’s really coming into his own as a two way defenceman in the league. Maliosh is quick on his feet and very good in both zones . And will only keep getting better as time goes on .

both defenders mentioned above I see competing for top defenceman awards for many seasons to come . No let’s get to the goalies

    Alex Minion Carter Hart

Minion brings a lot of raw talent to the Stars after a season in the VHLE where he backstopped the storm to a renaissance cup . Minion is positionally sound and is a bright young goaltender that will give LA a lot of good years in the crease !!

    Art Vandelay juuse saros

Vandelay might lack the size of you typical starting netminder but for what he lacks in size he makes up for in talent and heart . This season Vandelay is establishing himself as one of the premier goalies in the VHL . He is elite and there are no real flaws anywhere in his game . LA struck gold when the drafted Art .

there you have it folks that’s who I think are good comparisons to the LA Stars and their NHL counterparts.

  2. We’ll Season 87 is well underway and the Storm ( no pun intended) have stormed out of the gate . With a 7-1 record they are coming out hot looking to build off theirs second consecutive renaissance cup . Oslo has been on fire ranking first in goals for and third in goals against in the VHLE . They also have 8 players with playing at a point per game rate . If this keeps up the storm will have a great chance to go for their third consecutive renaissance cup and accomplish the ever elusive three peat .

We’ll have to wait and see if Oslo can continue their strong play this season . All signs are pointing to it continuing and the Storm having a strong season . But we all know that STHS can be a cruel beast and anything can happen.

will this hot team keep it up and make history , or will they fall victim to the STHS and come up short in their quest for history

  3. Oslo Storm Press Conference

    week ending 02/05/2023

    1. We’re 7-1 at the time of writing this press conference what’s been an early key to our success?

    2. who has surprised you the most early this season ?

    3. @JB123 was seen looking at reconfiguring the menu in the arena cafeteria, what’s a must have to put on the new menu ?

    4. Our next home game is bobble head night , what players do you think would have popular bobble heads ?

    5. are you superstitious? If so What’s one superstition you have in your pre game routine?

    6. How are you battling the cold in Oslo this winter ?

  4. Article Review

I like how I can picture Kerr fighting to try and get an established player development program in place for all kids . I also like the iSight on his dreams and plans with his money after retirement . Let’s not forget about his look into the upcoming season and how he’s prepared for a rookie season with the wolves

9/10 very well written and the story is so clear and draws you in

  5. Introducing the Back to Back renaissance cup champs Your Oslo Storm !

Today we’re going to take an in depth look at the Roster that will come into S87 and try to achieve the ever elusive three peat .

But first we’re gonna take a quick look at the players moving on from Oslo .

I feel like this part of the article has to begin with none other then the Storms captain from the last 2 seasons Jon Webber Jr . Webber did it all on and off the ice for the Storm , he will be heading to Riga to join them this season.

Quinn Clark the backbone of Oslo’s defence last season is moving on to play for the legion in Toronto after being a huge part of both of the Storms championship teams

Alexander Minion and Sunglasses Joyo Will both be taking their talents to sunny Los Angeles joint former Storm forward Todd Cooke, hoping to bring in some championship pedigree and youthful exuberance. Both players will be missed here in Oslo as they were both huge parts in the run to the cup last season .

Randy Bobandy shared the playoff MVP award with Minion he will and will be heading to Seattle to play for the bears.

Sebastian Dokis was a huge mid season addition that paid off huge for Oslo , Dokis will be playing for the iron eagles in Vasteras.

Rhys Trenton was a calming veteran presence on the back end and in the locker room from the moment he was added at the trade deadline , he will be hanging up the skates this year we wish him all the best in his future endeavours ( rumor has it there’s talks of him taking a position as a scout in the VHL somewhere ).

Nikolas Kauppi was another fan favourite here in Oslo for his one season here he will be taking his big physical game to Prague in czechia .

Now with all of those subtractions there’s gotta be additions right ?

first off we’ll look at the forwards for this years group . There will be a mix of Veterans and rookies in this years forward core.
Vinny Lecavalier and Ben McLaughlin along with newcomer Halvar Torbjorn will be looked at to lead the young talent Olso has coming in this season , while also looking to have successful and productive seasons in their own right !

Jimi Jaks , Oreo McFluery and Keno Akara are a very exciting promising trio of rookies who were all highly touted in this years past draft . They all have high potential to succeed in the VHLE. And move on to have great careers in the VHL aswell!

Next on defence there are some familiar faces with Fan favourite Brodie Landry lll and hard hitting shutdown defender Hunor Solyom leading the teams defence core . Robert Overmeyer is also going to Be playing defence this season , this should be a fairly smooth transition as he is generally a very defensively. Responsible forward as it is . These three will be joined by newcomers jack quill and Julien Bernier who look to add stability to the d core .

Different from years past Oslo will have more of a tandem in the crease this year rather then a clear cut number 1 goalie . That tandem will be Basileus Jute and The Red Menace . They will look to be a solid duo for the Storm this season .

there you have it folks there’s a look into Oslo and the bigger then usual turnover they will have this season . All things considered they have recovered extremely well and look like they are well equipped to make another run for their third renaissance cup in a row. Let’s see how this season shakes out for the storm !

  6. Oslo Storm Press Conference

    01/29/2023 week ending

    1. the regular season is right around the corner how do you think we stack up to the rest of the VHLE ?

    2. @JB123 was recently see at a costume shop in Oslo there’s som speculation that he was looking for a mascot costume . That being said how should Oslo’s mascot be portrayed?

    3. our home opener this year is Also banner raising night aswell how can we deal with high expectations this season as back to back champs ?

    4. Who is one player your looking forward to playing with this upcoming season ?

    5. Oreo McFlurry and Jimi Jak’s were recently seen looking at condos as they prepare for the upcoming season , what would be one piece of advice you could give to the 2 rookies as they look for a place ?

    6. how do the NHL All Star rosters look to you who in you position should have made it but didn’t ?

  7. Sophomore Centre for the LA Stars is back and working harder then ever in this seasons training camp , Cooke came back this season with something to prove and he’s on the right track to go just that !

Cooke had always been a player that could be depended on to deliver in any situation and he really struggled in that regard last season as a rookie . Cooke didn’t really ever find consistency last season on either ends of the ice . This season he has his sights set on changing that narrative. And becoming a player worth talking about in this league .

During his offseason vacation back home Cooke had one conversation that changed his entire outlook on how he viewed his training and the opportunity he has to play in this league . That conversation came during an Izvestia fishing trip with his father on Boxing Day . Cooke was expressing how his rookie season didn’t quite go as planned and how he would’ve loved to contribute more . His Father stopped him in his tracks and assured Cooke he had nothing to be ashamed of and he gave it his all . One thing that stuck with Cooke was when his Father said this “ The only person who can stop you from reaching your goals is you” . When he heard that Cooke knew he had to continue to work hard and put everything he had into this season . And boy is that what he’s doing !!

Stay tuned as we look to see if this truly does shape up to be a breakout year for Cooke !

  8. 1. I personally think the documentary might have been very informative to everyone in the bar , but I can also see why that might not have been movie of choice

    2. Well this is awkward . Sunglasses and myself have been having a great time and have built a very solid friendship. it was a poor choice of time management on both our parts . While I do think good friendships help the team in the long run . Poor decisions not so much .

    3. I mean anything is possible if your willing to pay the price !

    4. I believe that any sponsorships should be allowed especially if they are positive in helping our team in any way .

    5. I’ve personally worked on taking my scoring to that next level and I’m more ready then ever to get to that next level

    6. First off I would love to see us play some meaningful hockey in the playoffs . As far as myself I’d like to increase my career highs in scoring

    LA Stars Press Conference
Off-season is coming to an end soon!

As per usual, 3 answers will give you 1 TPE and 6 answers will get you the Max 2 TPE you can get from PC every week!

    1. How do you feel LA Stars did in the S87 VHL Entry draft?
    2. Recently GM Gagnon allegedly told LA Supreme Awesome News Outlet that Stars team is at it's weakest point ever? Your opinion on this matter?
    3. Right after a trade that reunited Sirdsvaldis Miglasķēms and Vinny Detroit in LA, they went out to a kareoke and both decided to Duet sign "Whole new world". Who do you think was signing the female voice part of the song?
    4. LA Stars have been labelled the "Weakest Sports Franchise of LA Area" - how do you feel about that statement as a player of this team?
    5. Stars front office has been very quiet about Captaincy lately, who do you believe should become the Captain of LA Stars in S87?
    6. With Free Agency coming up, who do you think we should target and why?

    1. I liked the players we picked up , our first round pick addressed a position of need aswell

    2. I can see where they’re coming from but at the same time with all the talent we have if we can put it all together there’s no reason we can’t exceed expectations and be successful this season!

    3. Sirdsvaldis seems like he’d be more of a jasmine to Vinny’s Aladdin

    4. It’s disappointing to hear , as a player on this team I can see how hard everyone works and how bad everyone wants our team to succeed as a whole . I feel like we have a lot of people to prove wrong this season !

    5. I’d probably have to say Callum Murray @Berocka he’s a great leader on and off the ice , and a huge presence in the locker room

    6. I feel like an additional defenceman would benefit us huge , but anyone who can help make the team better would be a good addition

  10. Review

I like how you gave insight on Quinn Clark and his journey finding his footing in the VHLM. I like reading about players experiences in the leagues and how they fair in their first couple seasons. It’s also refreshing to see people having fun . I rate this article 9/10 very well written about a promising young gun and his overall experience coming into the league

  11. As LA Stars Centre Todd Cooke gets ready to begin his sophomore season with the Stars we’ll take a look back and ahead at things to come !

Cooke came into the VHL as a highly touted S84 draft prospect in his waiver season in S83 with the Ottawa Lynx and had a good showing while trying to find his footing in the VHLM . The next season Cooke lead the Houston Bulls in scoring unfortunately they fell short in the playoffs and were knocked out early . Cooke then took his talents to Oslo and found success with the Storm putting up moderately good numbers and helping the Storm win the S85 renaissance cup . In S86 Cooke finally made the bigs and began his journey with the LA Stars . He had a very lacklustre rookie season on a disappointing Stars team.

Looking ahead Cooke is starting to come into his own in the VHL as a player hoping this season is his best yet ! In the remaining seasons left in his career Cooke is looking to establish himself as a top tier player in the VHL . With hopes of caputuring a Continental Cup or two with the Stars! Cooke wants to become a household name in the league and quite frankly he has the drive to do just that .

Hopefully the next half of his career is filled with tons of memories and championships . Individual awards while nice are secondary to Cooke right now . “Yes I hoped initially that I would one day attain some and a spot in the hall of fame . But honestly team success means more to me right now in this stage of my career “ Cooke stated in an interview after todays practice .

Cooke hopes to be remembered as a player that could fill whatever spot he was asked to play in the lineup . As well as an all around team guy that lightened the mood in the locker room and lead by example with his work ethic on and off the ice .

when asked how he wanted to be remembered Cooke had this to say .

“ You look at the guys who came before before me in this league I think most would say the same thing , in that they’d want to be remembered more as a good teammate and a guy that played the game the right way , then a guy that was only in it for himself “

One goal Cooke has set for himself is to finish his career with at least one Continental Cup . And on a personal note as one of the higher TPE earners of his draft class . With maybe one or two individual awards sprinkled in there too .

Hopefully this driven individual can accomplish the goals he’s set out for himself as well as finish his career as a player worth remembering. And one who cared more about the team he played for them himself
