  1. The Los Angeles Stars just recently had two killer seasons, finishing 4th in NA in S81 and 2nd in Na in S82. The roster was built for success and even though we came up short in the end, the team had a really good time both seasons. Unfortunately though the band is breaking up. Players are either retiring, being traded, or just not resigning. It is crazy to me that in only four seasons I am the only one left since my S79 draft year. I did not even play S79 as I stayed down in the VHLM. So basically in three seasons everyone is gone! I get that a majority of players who left were veterans in their last season, but that was only half of the squad. I wanted to get a visual of what the f happened this off-season so here we go. OUT Reason IN Reason (S75) Pistil Stamen - F Retired (S82) Eldon Escobar - F Traded (S75) Vick Fairchild - F Retired (S81) Cooper Skambraks - F Traded (S75) Dan Dan - F Retired (S76) Magnus Verlander - F Traded (S78) Henri le Massif - F Traded (S77) Barron Kuulenstien - D Traded (S80) Florida Man - F Traded (S81) Cameron Elsby - D Traded (S78) Tui Sova - D Traded (S76) Tater Tot - G Traded (S82) Tavish DeGroot - D Traded S84 Riga 2nd (S77) Jan Hlozek - D Traded S84 PRG 2nd (S75) Kevin Wu - D Retired S83 MOS 4th (S75) Rara Rasputin - G Retired S83 WAR 4th (S75) Trent Gibson - G Retired So as you can see from my lovely spreadsheet, in one off-season alone, the Los Angeles Stars have lost their entire S82 roster besides my player. It is honestly sad that everyone has left and weird in a way. For the players retiring, obviously you do not have a choice. But the players traded basically all just wanted out after a new GM was hired and our veterans left. I'm not targeting you traded players and calling you traitors in any way, but it is wild to think that 5/6 of us remaining from S82 are now gone. I wish you all the best of luck and hopefully we can slap your teams around one day. The team now consists of myself, the only player above 500 TPE, and four other players. Two forwards, two defenseman, one goalie. Not to mention, only three of us are above the 400 TPE VHL minimum with the other two in the call up range. We do have two or three players who will be eligible for call up once S83 hits, but the depth is surely not there and we will have to rely on drafts and patience to build up a roster again. Something that I find cool is that IR is building some great depth with prospect trading and draft picks. 3/6 of the players traded for are young players only with one or two seasons under their belts and lots of time to develop. Four other drafts picks were acquired as well including good 2nd round picks in the S84 Entry Draft. We now have four picks in the upcoming S83 Entry Draft (one 2nd, three 4ths) and eight picks in the S84 Entry Draft (two 1sts, four 2nds, one 3rd, one 4th). If the rules are the same as the VHLM where you can only have 3 1sts and 3 2nds in one draft, then an S84 2nd will have to go. But I am sure we can get some value from that if necessary. So I really do not have any doubt that Los Angeles will be a strong team again in the next 4-5 seasons. Unfortunately this will most likely be when I am retiring, but you never know. Another thing to consider is that IR was the recent GM for Rome in the VHLE after being promoted. The VHLE has had three winners in it's three season existence and IR has been the winning GM in all three. So if that does not give you some confidence to what he can do then I do not know what will. What do all of these changes mean to AJ Williams? Nothing. I devoted my career to Los Angeles in S81 when I signed a four season contract extension. Meaning I will be signed to Los Angeles for an extended S82-S85 length. The only way I can leave is if I am traded or I sign to a different team in S86 for my final season under UFA's. I honestly do not have plans to leave. When all of the new GM commotion started this off-season, I had thoughts of requesting a trade but then I came to the conclusion that Los Angeles was my first ever team (I am a first gen member) and why would I want to leave when I could create some history for the Stars. Pistil Stamen was the captain for the Stars the past couple seasons and was probably the most loyal player in franchise history as LA is a newer expansion team. I have been watching his player perform the past few seasons since being drafted and want to mirror what he has done for LA. Seeing his player since I was drafted also kept me determined to stay in Los Angeles as he recently took control of the franchise's most points role. That is something I have wanted to beat ever since Jeffrey Pines had the glory. I am already 11th all time with 222 points, so why not keep going? I am shy of Stamen's career PPG and will have one less season than him since I stayed an extra season in the VHLM, but with the future minutes and roles my player will see with LA's roster crisis, I could potentially shoot off like a rocket in the point category. My fait is in IR's lovely hands and whatever he decides goes. If I am trade, it is what it is, if he keeps me, I am totally fine with that. So in conclusion, this off-season was something most teams rarely see, but it is the reality of Los Angeles and as the most likely to win captain role, I am excited for my player to battle with the underdog title that LA will receive. 1047 words - claiming April 3, April 10
  2. Hello reader, if you are reading this and currently are not a free agent or any player who is signed already with a VHL team, please keep scrolling. The Los Angeles Stars are crying for help and looking for ANYONE TO JOIN PLEASE SIGN WITH US. We can guarantee a few things: 1. You will play a lot as we only have like two players above 400 TPE next season. 2. You will play a lot of minutes. 3. You will most likely get lots of points since you will play a lot. 4. For goalies: you will start every game. 5. You will play a lot. Next season could see a mental breakdown throughout the entire city of Los Angeles as majority of the roster have either retired, been traded, or not re-signing. So please, if you have any heart at all, call the number on your screen and donate to this poor organization. All proceeds will go towards AJ Williams' new player build and we will even include a sticker that says "thx" in size 12 time new roman font. Thank you for your time and please please please consider joining the Los Angeles Stars for the upcoming S83.
  3. 1. Not really. Been in Canada my whole life so it’s all I know. Would like to live in western Canada though. 2. I don’t watch baseball. 3. No but my sister has a cat named nut! 1. What is your favourite place to order fast food? 2. What is one thing you would tell your younger self if you had the chance? 3. Is there any where you want to travel?
  4. 1. To regroup and figure a way to replace all of the retiring vets and the players who won't be returning after this off-season. 2. It could be, I'm pretty sure only 3 of us will be returning next season so it is expected. 3. Just have fun. We've had some good runs lately and it starts in the LR with everyone enjoying themselves. 4. Toronto looks great. They beat us in S81 in the qualifying round and have a roster of deep young talent. 5. Headphones in and keep to himself. It's all a mental game to get ready to play. 6. @MubbleFubbles's player because he has the best player name in the league right now.
  5. The LA Stars took on the Vancouver Wolves recently in the second round of the S82 VHL playoffs. Just like S81, we lost. Vancouver gave us a clean sweep and sent us home with our heads shaking. Vancouver is a really good team, going back to back the past two seasons, so it wasn’t a huge shock to be knocked out by them. I would say Williams played a great part for the Stars these playoffs and should be proud. 14 points in 11 games and only 2 points behind the team leader in points. Williams is only getting better and with the vets retiring, he’ll be seen as a top point producer heading into the next season. I’m very excited to see how he can perform and how the new build system will affect his play. Another new thing, LA has a new GM. With Rory stepping down, IR comes in to try and bring some success for this squad. IR went 3/3 in the VHLE playoffs on making it to the finals, so I have faith in him to find us in the VHL finals soon. Not sure how long that’ll take with our core retiring, but it should be a fun run as Williams is signed to the Stars till S85.
  6. With playoffs approaching, Williams and the LA Stars hope to bounce back from an early exit in S81 against the Toronto Legion. With many S75 players retiring after this season, it’s all or nothing. Williams is determined to help win a cup for his vets to finish off a strong season. After this season Williams will be seen as the top TPE forward for the Stars (if signings/trades aren’t made). Williams is prepared to be a leader on his team after being drafted in S79 and learning from current captain, Pistil Stamen, LA Stars franchise points leader. Williams knows there will be big shoes to fill and can count on S78 Henri le Massif and S77 Jan Hlozek/ S78 Tui Sova, if they choose to re-sign, to help lead this team. Since being drafted, Williams has been attached to this franchise and has goals to lead his team to many playoffs. After signing a full career contract, the Stars management understand how determined he is.
  7. 1. Spinach, can throw it in anything and it has no taste in my opinion. 2. Quebec to get a team again. Would be cool to see the frenchies have a rivalry in Quebec. 3. I used to work for the OHL if that counts. Would always check in on the games. 1. Who is your favourite NHL team? Why? 2. What other sports do you enjoy watching besides hockey? 3. 8. Had the day off so decided to hop on and type some words. But yes I am not dead for some of you who have been wondering, just been working a lot of was burning out a bit. Anyways, AJ Williams has been having a great season with the LA Stars. He has 80 points in 68 games, passing the 40 goal mark with 41 goals and passing his previous season points best of 76 points last season. He also just recently achieved over a point per game for his career stats which is pretty cool only being in his third season. The Stars and doing very well too, being second in the league just behind the back to back cup winners. For a while we were leading the league too which was awesome. Also, we have a pretty decent gap in front of third place in the league, so I'm guessing everyone thinks it will be either Vancouver or Los Angeles winning the cup this season. I hit 150 words so goodbye for now.
  9. 1. The Stars are looking really good. Second place in the league behind the Wolves and have a huge gap from third place. 2. I skimmed through them, I think it's a great idea. Will most likely annoy my GM to tell me what to upgrade and be too lazy to learn what I should do. 3. I've been working lots but usually at my bar they have NBA games on so I watch a couple here and there. 1. With the new attributes being implemented, what type of player build will you shoot for? (Sniper, playmaker, etc.) 2. What are some career goals for your player? 3. If you could choose a different team to play on in the VHL/E/M besides your own, where would you go?
