After a fairly successful VHLM and VHLE career, Janet Snakehole has decided to go into witness protection.

A very big thank you to @Zack for his wonderful enthusiasm, transparency and hype and guidance in the VHLM. I had a blast with the Lynx.

Hats off to @Dil for all his efforts with the Iron Eagles, he turned that team around quicker than a microwave hot pocket.

This is spooky, which is great for spooktober. The font at the bottom is super dope as well. I think the only thing I would change is the severity of the inverted/burn effect- I like the thought but it just looks a little too canned for me. Well done! 7.5/10

    1. I'll be honest I think we will start to go through a bit of a rough patch- we started off the season hot, and we now have a lot of players capped while other teams are still improving. We have a good squad but we will certainly be having some tougher matchups
2.Im surprised by my stats, i never thought I would be so involved offensively
    3. Yep, they are fitting right in!
    4. I'm in a few sim leagues, I would recommend ISFL and PBE to anyone curious/ enjoys baseball and football.

    1. Happy? I'm thrilled! to be a part of something this special my rookie season is only I thought would happen in my dreams.
    2. I think we're all playing very well, and wouldn't want to break up the ju-ju, if we keep doing what we're doing we should be in great shapre for the rest of the season!
    3. I think us in the M, E is a toss-up very evenly matched, but if I had to choose I'd say the Gladiators, and in VHL i'll go with the Wolves.
4.Juice Box has been the heart and soul of this squad.

Lets look at the top 10 TPE players in VHLM and their performance so far in the sim.

    LW - Nico Pearce 81 200 232 C - Harkat Mulds 81 200 220 RW - Zaza Colors 81 200 211 LW - Nezuko 81 155 161 D - Hulk Hogan 2 81 160 160 D - Cameron Elsby 81 158 158 RW - Maximus Decimus Meridius 81 158 158 D - Wattson Power 81 145 146 D - Biggie Cheese 81 145 144 C - Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems 81 130 130
Nico Pearce- Leading the way for the Minnesota Storm, Pearce is ranked 6th in scoring with 22 goals, and 2nd in Hat-Tricks with 4. Nico seems to be very well rounded, just needs a bit more help on his squad to get them to win some of these tougher matchups. I think with the rest of his team steadily updating, they should be a real threat with the #1 player in VHLM.

Harkat Mulds- The first of four on the Yukon Rush superteam on this top ten list. Mulds leads the league in plus/minus with a 38, and is in the top 10 in Goals, Assists, and shots. This guy is the team grinder and he's always there to support the squad, he doesnt need to be flashy hes just there to secure the W.

Zaza Colors- Yukon again, we'll be seeing a few more... Colors is right behind his friend Mulds in plus/minus with a 37- I sense this little mini leaderboad race is somewhat of a small bragging right between these two teammates, but in the end another unselfish player with the stick. Pretty good at scoring but playing the team game and just sharing the load with the full squad.

Nezuko- Good winger for the Minny Storm- another big contributor to in the goals dept for the storm. Sitting at fifth overall with 23 to date also like his counterpart pearce, has 3 hat-tricks. These guys can score but they still need some help getting the defense to play up, Storm sitting middle of the pack in goals allowed.

Hulk Hogan 2- The first of our defensemen! Yukon man, holding it down on the back-line. Hogan is eightth in shots blocked, eighth in assists and 2nd in power play goals with 10. This Yukon team is so well rounded its amazing all these players are getting in the top 10, but they score so much it doesn't matter who scores becuase there's plenty more where that came from.

Cameron Elsby- Leading the way for the Bulls, Elsby's only top 10 appearance in in penalty minutes. Elsby is an intimidator for the bulls, but he is not shy in the offesne dept as well, throwing up 23 points this season which just misses the top 10 for defensemen. I'm sure the fans love him, but if I'm the GM im making Elsby do some extra drills in practice to get his head out of the gutter. If the Bulls are going to be taken seriously they need their top player to start playing sound hockey and setting up his young teammates for success.

Maximus Decimus Meridius-Yukon agane, Max doesnt make any appearances on the top 10 besides his two hat-trick games. Its hard to do so when you have such a sound squad and everyone is contributing. Max is still playing well racking up 30 points for his swaud and playing sound defense to boot.

Wattson Power- Power is the lead defensemen for the Mexico squad. Mexico is a scrappy team and Power is setting the precedent for this team. Mexico doesn't put up the best scoring numbers but they do play hard and fast. I think this team can be a real threat as they play up or down to their competition.

Biggie Cheese- Cheese is another Bull that is playing good defense. He currently sits at 5th in points for defensemen and doing his best to keep this bulls team in it this season.

Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems- Rounding out the list we have another Bull! Like the other bulls nothing too crazy with this player, just a grinder, hard hitter, and this Bulls team is scary.

    1. I'm extremely happy with our picks, we have a nice mix of vets and eager newbies.
2.Well I wasn't quite sure but after our first week we have been rolling, I think we have a good shot of making a dent in the playoffs

Ottawa Lynx are off to a red hot start to the start of season 80, going 5-1 in their first stretch of matches and scoring a plethora of goals. Currently they have a +23 goal differential which is second in the league behind the Minnesota Storm, but what really stands out early in the season is the strength of the goalie. The Red Menace has lived up to his name in the net, having the fewest goals scored with only 12! 7 behind the next best. Lets hope this momentum continues as this is a long season and lots of great matchups upcoming. The two eastern conference leaders, The Lynx and the Storm as set to play each other next and it should be a great game-arguably the two best teams on paper, but at this early in the season it all comes down to the discipline and sticking to the fundamentals on the ice. Can't wait to see the result, but my unbias opinion has the Lynx taking this one 5-3.

Good piece, I appreciate the honest info- I think having a pay to play league has its benefits as it helps with the back-end/infrastructure of the league and provides opportunities that might not be available if short on funds/man power. Although like you stated there needs to be a balance and a way to keep the f2p players still engaged, I think allowing donators to earn easier or earn at a higher rate is not a good format. Love the Home Alone graphic 9/10

MattBake12 got a reaction from diacope in MattBake12 User Scouting Profile
Ahhhhh sorry this is super late and the draft is probably already done but just wanted to give the VHLM GMs some notes on my player and myself as a user. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of draftees- holy crap thats alot of scouting for GMs! I guess there are quite a few IAs but man I might need to ask the recruiting head your secrets!

Janet Snakehole if you were unaware is a reference to a character played by April Ludgate in the NBC show parks and recreation who is played by Aubrey Plaza. I probably wont be RPing much as her but maybe I'll sneak in the occasional reference here and there. I think P&R is my 3rd favorite sitcom behind Seinfeld and Scrubs and I loved the April/ Snakehole character. Anyways, Janet was built for the primary purpose of being a defensive brick wall- similar to one of the only players I can recall, Kimmo Timonen. I didn't really grow up watching very much hockey but he's one of the players i remember fondly. I'm open to switching my playstyle for the team if needed as well! Not sure how the meta/ sim operates in regards to ratings but whatever fits the team defensively I can mold to that!

Sim leagues are all about the user, and I consider myself a pretty strong one- I hope to one day find an area within this league and expand my horizons as far as jobs/media/etc but as of right now I'm still learning my way around. I've had so much fun in the prospect offseason tournament and can't wait to keep the party rolling into the minors. Locker room presence is always a question, especially when a user may have other sim league players, and I'd like to think that once I am more familiar with everything I will be more present in the locker room, forums, and different servers that the VHL has to offer.

Earning, earning, earning- I work in the accounting field and the motto there is "cash is king" well in sim leagues earning is king. I hope to earn pretty well here, but I don't expect to be a super max earner. The main reason I joined here was because I recently move to Tampa and wanted to learn more about hockey so that I could enjoy watching the Lightning a bit more. I hope to pretty much cap out on weekly TPE and trickle in some uncapped here and there to supplement.

I think that pretty much touches all the big areas that people mostly wonder about! I hope that the team I find is a fun environment and I cannot wait to meet some new users! Winning is always fun, but what it comes down to is the experiences we share and the fun we make out of something so silly and meaningless as a simmed player that AI controls. Good luck to all the other draftees, cant wait to see you out on the ice!

MattBake12 got a reaction from Spartan in Janet Snakehole Road to VHLM
    Havana, Cuba

Janet Snakehole was born in Zurich, Switzerland to her parents Roger and Emily Snakehole. Banker, baker, and student by day and a garbage collection family by night the Snakehole's were always hard at work and did everything for their pristine swiss community to keep it clean and tidy. Once Janet was old enough to put on skates she was handling the puck as well. She had to cut her hair short to be a part of the U16 team in Zurich and she was the goalie on the Swiss Championship team, but sadly after that championship an internal audit of player documents revealed that she was in fact a female and her and her family were banished from Switzerland.

The family decided to move to the united states to Pawnee Indiana, as the garbage collecting hobbyist's heard they have one of the best local municipality systems in the US. Just to lay low for a bit Janet decided to forgo playing any hockey during high school. She started a position at the local parks and recreation department, but knew in her heart she wanted to get back into Hockey. One of her co-workers at her job, Andy Dwyer was on a men's league team at the local rink and she decided to stop by a game to watch him skate. Needless to say, she was instantly brought back to her time in Switzerland and she decided to sneak back in and play once the next season began.

She sported a fake mustache, mullet wig, and made sure to put on her best masculine voice. She decided it would be easier to switch to defender as the goalie was pretty set for most of the teams. She ended up on a pretty solid team, and she soon became one of the top defenders in the league. One day after a U18 game at the local rink, one of the scouts that was left from the game prior stuck around at the bar and watched the mens league team as his flight to Saskatoon was delayed. He was pleasantly impressed with the play of Janet and decided to drunkenly ask her for some information after her game. Janet took his information and found out after reading his card that this was a scout for the VHLM, whatt!!!!! It was her dream as a kid to breakout into the VHL.

She contacted him and decided to come forward that she was actually a girl but with all the recent changes to the league the scout was still able to secure a workout and tryout for the upcoming scouting combine. Janet flew to Dubai and was pushing so hard to show her talent. All those years of waste management paid off for her, she was so light on the skates as you need to be when running down the street to pick up bins. She took her life skills of smashing overfilled bins and brought it into her checking fundamentals. It was such an unusual mechanics demonstration some of the other prospects laughed, but they got laughed out the door when Janet secured the 5th best defender grade. Janet is so excited to get her start in the VHLM and ready to punk some kids.
