So try just duplicating the text layer and make the duplicated layer pure black. Add a slight blur effect and it should make it look like the text has a bit more depth.
  2. - @Gustav (Let's Invent a Stat: Ranking Every Draft Bust of the S80s) Coming into the VHL as a first-gen and not really knowing what I was doing, I was kind of shocked to learn that I was being considered for a higher pick in the first round. I was active, and after a few seasons with Toronto...I wasn't. Long story short: it was school. I needed to finish school and I just kind of had to put my head down for it. But ever since I had to do that, I had this feeling left in me that I left something unfinished and more importantly I felt that I left a lot of potential on the table. Coming back to the VHL with Johnny Tsunami was my way of finishing what I started and making amends where I could. So of course Johnny Tsunami took a bit of a hit this time around when it came to draft stock, but boy I ended up in exactly the right place. @Alex was my GM for my first-gen player in the VHLM and was (I think) pretty aware of how I operate as a person and worked with me from the get-go of drafting me again. I'm usually a person who is more fond of defense and defensive play, so making a forward was a new jump for me. Johnny at first was rocking the minors - putting up decently high numbers, performing well in the off-season tournaments and showing up consistently on the stat leaderboards. But the glaring issue was that come playoff season, he would vanish into thin air. After an extremely disappointing rookie season with Davos, there was some concern that Johnny might end up being a bust. At this point, I became worried. Then it followed up with an almost equally as abysmal second season. I was lost and really unsure what else to do except to keep earning and to put it towards the skills he was lacking most in. Come season 3 and it's an absolute banger, finally a breakout career season and then...again? At the beginning of this past season, Johnny started putting up 4-5 point games. Then suddenly he was at the top of the stat boards. At the conclusion of the season 4 in the majors, Johnny is looking at his best season yet, with 88 points and an almost even split between them with 48 goals and 40 assists. With regression still far on the horizon and this task being submitted to officially bring Johnny above 1000 TPE, a feat I couldn't reach last time - I think I can safely say...redeemed. Now let's see what this guy is capable of! 435 Words

Reviewing! Firstly, as always I must recognize my heritage as a Floridian and bias towards the amazing name. And not only is he Florida Man, he is Florida Man, Second of His Name. I think a little more depth should be added to the 'FM2' part of the graphic, just something to make it look like it wasn't just pasted in. The background is awesome and a great tie-in with the render and logo in it. The logo on the jersey swap looks a little weird with the blue outline on the font of the logo but a great start nonetheless! 8.5/10!
  4. After a sudden TPA re-roll in the S97 offseason it was unclear how much of an impact that Mina (@Baozi) would have on the existing, very potent Davos roster. With a lot of up and coming talent in the pipeline, Davos looked to its future to provide most of its support. Was it a pleasant surprise though, to see Class of S91 defenseman Mina start to light up the stat keeping leaderboards. With a team-leading 91 points in 72 games, including 22 goals and 69 assists, Mina wasn’t just contributing offensively—they were leading the charge for most of the season. 10 powerplay goals and 5 gamewinners just show how clutch crucial Mina was in key moments. What makes the MVP case undeniable is the two-way impact. Racking up 191 hits and 121 blocked shots, Mina was not only keeping the offensive production up for the team even in times where it lacked heavily - they continued to play the defensive game as well. I'm inclined to think that Mina should be heavily considered for the MVP award.
  5. To the best backup goalie a team could ask for! @Royski
  6. 1. We’re at the final stretch of the regular season! How do you feel about Davos’ performance over the course of S98? I feel like were in a good spot. We tanked to avoid the curse is all I'm saying. 2. How many players do you think the S100 class will end with? Not sure, 100? That would be cool. 3. How is your team performing in VHFL and/or Super Coach if you participated? Not participating but I wish I did dang it 4. Does your player shoot left or right-handed? If you’re a goalie, what is their glove side? Right of course. 5. Do you have any name ideas for your next player yet? Not sure. I may take a bit of a siesta between players. 6. Did your favorite NHL team clinch a playoff spot? Of course, let's go Cats!
  7. I just went off your player page lol
  8. @Ahma getting some love for Jokinen the Fourth!
  9. By now we have all come to know and love the Victory Cup curse. For those who aren't aware, the team who has the best regular season record at the end of the season is awarded the "coveted" Victory Cup. During the S80-S82 seasons, Vancouver won both the Continental and Victory cups three times in a row (that story is for another time). In each of those three victories, Moscow would end up the runner-ups in each instance. On year 4 in S83, Moscow had finally won the Victory Cup and were on the cusp of winning their own Continental Cup... when they lost a tragic game 7 to the Seattle Bears. Since this moment, winning the Victory Cup was less of a feat and more of an omen - an omen of expectations and the need to break them. Which brings me to Davos. Lately we have been massively under-performing, to the point that we had a 6 game loss streak for the first time in quite a while, followed by many more repeated losses. At first, I thought maybe this was it - hubris was catching up to us and we were not as good as we thought. But no, this is the plan. First off, this thing is completely cursed. 10/15 of the last Victory Cup winners lost to a wild card team, 9/15 lost in the first round they played in (Conference Semis). So step 1 is to just not win the thing. Step 2 is to try and be the wild card team in a division where the Victory Cup will end up. Right now Davos is the 1st wild card and Helsinki is currently poised to win the Victory Cup. All according to plan. 290 words By the way, this is the breakdown of Victory Cup winners and how their seasons ended up since S80. Don't open the spoiler if you were a GM who got the Victory Cup since S80.
  10. 1. There has been some debate over theme week these past few days. Do you believe anything about it should be changed? Just really stretching the Themes. We barely have anyone who's aggressive as a player anymore. 2. Who is your favorite all-time VHL “tough guy?” Johnny Tsunami 3. We are about 20 games away from the end of the regular season and the battle between the top 4 in the EU is close. How would you rate Davos’ chances to sit at the top? Hopefully we get 2nd on the standings. lol 4. Personally, one of the biggest reasons for my love for the VHL is its strong community. Are there any members you’ve become good friends with or look up to in your time in the league? Eh, just more acquaintences. I tried to play league with some people but eh. 5. If you could only dump all your TPE into one attribute, what would it be? Fighting. 6. The S100 recreates are pouring in! Do any player names stick out to you yet? None but good to see a big class!

Reviewing! First off, I love that it took me so long to notice that you changed the refs shield logo to say VHL instead of NHL. Well done on the edit on that! A Bruins shoulder patch snuck through but those can be hard to remember (ive just left some in that are blurry enough to not notice). The name is obnoxiously long but you made it look so good just like it is, the simple clean font does well to contrast the crazy scene behind it. Some more blending on that jersey logo and you'd be top tier! 8.5/10
  12. Reviewing! Definitely a fantastic start when it comes to sig making, you did a fantastic job on the jersey swap and the logo on the pant leg was a nice added touch to add to the authenticity. A few notes: the first is to not be afraid to use color correction! You could probably pull back on the saturation of the red jersey to make it match the more muted red of the logo. Second note would be to make the signature just a bit smaller, forums like their compactness so keeping the logo tight could be beneficial. Like I said, great start! 7.5/10
  13. All year long, the Davos Dynamos led by skilled, young captain Taavetti Jokinen have struggled to find their mark as a team. Capitalizing on this lull, the emergence of Johnny Tsunami and his breakout season served to be some of the only things keeping the team mostly afloat. "It's nice to finally be up there with some of the bigger names in the league. The pressure is really on to perform but I'm confident here that my team will bounce back in no time." Tsunami said after a game against Chicago just last week. And bounce back, they did. Since writing this, Johnny has assisted on only one point while his team maintains a 2nd place spot in the division and the league as a whole. Veteran Mina, is close behind Tsunami at 71 total points, with former Rookie of the Year Antonia Bucatini and linemate David Pastanap close behind at 65 and 57 respectively. Davos looks to try and end the season at the top of the board (or strategically avoiding it the very top?) but ultimately, the goal remains: the finals and a championship. 183 words
  14. https://vhlportal.com/game/VHL/98/VHL98-247.html It really was just a completely unnecessary beat down. 3 fights on the year for the already offensively potent Tsunami. Definitely a crash out goon moment. Edit: I put this in the wrong forum. Whoops!
  15. This is especially heinous. Good riddance.
  16. 1. Happy Theme Week! Thoughts on the theme: tough guys? Gets worse every season *chefs kiss* 2. What kind of prank would your player pull on April Fool’s Day? Retire 3. What stick tape color does your player use? Probably some light blue and pink? 4. Is there any NHLer in particular you’re modeling your player after in terms of playstyle? Scrappy, annoying forward. Marchand I suppose? 5. The VHL turns 18 this summer! What season did you join the league in? Oh gosh only back in the S80s 6. Who do you predict will win the Victory Cup now that we are halfway through the regular season? Can't be anyone else but Davos right?
  17. 1. As we are still off to a strong start, what is the key to Davos’ success in S98? Man it's hard not to toot our own horn here but the 2nd line is just fuego. 2. Which team do you predict will be our biggest rival this season? Losscow, of course 3. Yesterday, we were almost graced by a goalie fight between Jeremy Swayman and Darcy Kuemper— should there be goalie fights implemented in the VHL? Honestly are there even many fights these days? 4. How do you think the league should further incentivize activity and content production from users? Honestly we need to find someway to make the sims more interactive 5. When scouting prospects, especially first-gens, what is the most important attribute to look for? Locker room presence! 6. If your player was an animal, what would they be? Probably like a big parrot or something!
  18. Reviewing: First off, I like the idea to use one of the walk-in photos that players do where they're dressed up to the nines as a render. It didn't even occur to me to really even use those and I think from now on I might be using them more! So thank you for the inspiration. I love the direction that you were going with this too. I would have maybe put the render through a filter to maybe make him look a bit more 2d to match the graphics you used. Great work! 8.5/10
  19. 1. I’m currently reporting to everyone from Las Vegas, Nevada, where I’ll be vacationing until tomorrow! This begs the question, out of all VHL/M cities, which one would you most like to visit IRL? I would love to actually visit Davos! 2. We’re off to a rocketing 9-0-1 start as of Monday, March 17th! Did this dominance come as a pleasant surprise? Yes but not this much! 3. Between the NA and EU, which conference do you expect to be stronger this season? EU by far 4. What is your favorite active player name in the VHL currently, if you have one? Pastanap! 5. Have any of your players ever scored a Gordie Howe hat trick? Nope, don't plan to either. 6. What do you think the Utah Hockey Club’s mascot will be? Hopefully the yeti
  20. TSUPER! I maybe should have put what date this is from....ah well. 6 tpe is 6 tpe. @Baozi getting in an amazing season with the rebuild and @Jubis getting the most incredible breakout season!
  21. Pasta has been destined for this since being in Houston!
