The Oslo Storm have picks 12, 20, and 23 in the upcoming season 47 VHLM dispersal draft. Considering there are 22 players in the draft as of right now, Oslo expects to be fucked out of their 23rd overall selection and thus only pick twice. Here are their prospects: 1. G - Dmitri Dadanov: 51 TPE Goaltending is important to winning games in the VHLM and having a great one could be the difference between a contender and a pretender. Since Holik and Zhumbayev will likely be off the board at pick number 12, Dadanov would be Oslo’s top choice. Even he might be selected by the time pick 12 rolls around, but the Storm are hopeful that some of the offensive players in the draft take priority. 2. C – Vincent Adultman: 78 TPE Adultman is another player who may not be available at pick 12. However, he has a defensive build that may scare some teams off at the end of the first round. Adultman is a strong forward who won’t offer much in terms of scoring, but can be the leader of a team in the center of the ice. 3. RW – Pavel Varushkin: 30 TPE Varushkin may be the sleeper pick of the draft if he falls to Oslo at pick number 12. He hasn’t had a whole lot of experience, but comes from a trusted agent who is known for churning out solid hockey players. His skills are yet to be showcased on the ice, but the hype may be enough for him to end up being a first round pick. 4. RW – Bogdan Podarok: 51 TPE Podarok is high on Oslo’s draft board and could very well fall to the Storm at number 12. He is a balanced young winger who showed promise at the end of season 46. If he polishes his scoring touch, Podarok could end up being in the top 10 in points when season 47 is said and done. At the worst, he will be a solid first liner for the Storm. 5. RW – Rock Soapwart: 44 TPE Soapwart is a strong defensive forward who could transition into a defenseman if he falls to the Storm. He is another very young prospect who has the potential to be a star in the VHLM next season. Unfortunately, his build won’t produce much scoring and his draft stock will drop because of it. 6. D – Randy Savage: 32 TPE Savage is the only defenseman on the Oslo draft radar because there are so many other great ones who will be picked in the first round. Savage is an underrated player who should develop into an outstanding player next season. He will definitely be available at pick 12 if the Storm want to go a defensive route. 7. RW – Mikhail Gribov: 46 TPE Gribov is an interesting player to say the least. He is active, but hasn’t actually improved his player in almost a month. Whoever takes a chance on Gribov could be getting a solid player or a bust. For that reason, Oslo will probably only look at Gribov in the third round. 8. C – Rene Bergeron: 0 TPE Bergeron is the second interesting player in the season 47 draft. He created his player and later was quoted as saying “I don’t even remember doing this.” For that reason, Bergeron will only be a speculative selection if he falls to Oslo in the third round.

Yes, it happened. LSP finished off S46 by leading the Ottawa Lynx to a 4-2 series victory over the Moscow Red Wolves to claim the championship for the second year in a row. Not many people in VHLM history can boast that feat. It looked as if the Lynx might pull off the sweep after going up 3-0, but Moscow clawed their way back into it with two straight dramatic wins to make it close. LSP had a goal in game 6, helping Ottawa win their first VHLM championship in a long while. Now LSP gets to sit back and wait for the S46 VHLM awards to be announced. He is expected to take home league MVP and is a strong candidate for playoff MVP as well. It was a successful season from start to finish and now LSP will get to prove himself in the VHL when he joins the Toronto Legion at the start of next season. With a predicted 268 TPE by the time S47 starts, St. Pierre may be in the running for rookie of the year. He will provide a lot of offense for the Legion, who severely lack in that area.

Now both hands have some ice. Thanks to Ottawa and Moscow for the opportunity the past two seasons. Two championships is pretty darn cool. Off to the VHL!

With the VHLM finals getting started yesterday, the Ottawa Lynx have been all business during this holiday season. After blowing out the Brampton Blades in the semi-finals by a final tally of four games to one, Ottawa has had their eyes focused on the real prize: the VHLM finals championship. "This has been our goal since day one" said Lynx GM Jardy Bunghole. "We have been a motivated team and this is the final hump to get over if we want to reach that goal. Moscow stands in our way and they aren't going to be an easy win. We have to be on top of our game and close them out quick because if they get some momentum going, they're hard to stop." Ottawa achieved that goal by winning game one and taking an early lead in the series. Now Moscow has their backs against the wall and are facing a deadly 2-0 deficit if they can't bounce back in game two. "Obviously it's a must win for us" said Red Wolves GM Steven Stamkos. "They are an amazing team and have proved all season long that they have our number. We would have loved to win game one, but that didn't happen. So now we have to gather our thoughts, dig down deep, and win game two. It's as simple as that." The Lynx have delayed their Christmas festivities until the series is over. They had a slight celebrating last night after their game one victory, but with game two being played less than 24 hours after the conclusion of game one, they needed to get their rest. The normally happy LeAndre St. Pierre looked determined after game one, showing minimal emotion an taking a business-like approach to the series. "We didn't come here to recognize the birth of Christ" said St. Pierre. "That happened a long time ago and we are the type of team who lives in the present. Not like a Christmas present, but like right now. You get what I'm fucking talking about. The finals are the only thing that matters right now. Christmas can wait until next year." Instead of partying after the victory, LeAndre went back to his apartment and started getting ready for game two. It is a sight that hasn't been seen from St. Pierre before. Maybe he is maturing and being the leader that this Ottawa team needs him to be. However, if the Lynx end up winning the VHLM finals championship, there could be a celebration unlike any other. LeAndre has been known to throw some of the biggest bangers known to man, so a second VHLM championship ring on his finger may be cause for the destruction of the city of Ottawa. Unlike last year in Moscow, St. Pierre is now the face of the team and would likely be the ringleader of any celebrations that take place in the downtown Ottawa area.

Claim for next week. Getting older sucks. Got a George Foreman grill and a couple of dress shirts. And the bad thing is I was really pumped when I opened them.

So here we are yet again, LeAndre St. Pierre wills his team into the finals on the back of his team leading 10 points in 5 games for the Lynx. It will be Ottawa vs. Moscow for the title this season and everyone knows that LSP wants this one worse than anyone. As a waiver pick up for the champion Red Wolves last season, LSP wants to make sure they can't repeat and solidify his place as the best player in the league. This series will be a tough one, as Moscow has improved down the stretch and have been playing great hockey the last couple of weeks. LSP and the rest of the Lynx know that they will need to be on their game for 60 minutes each night if they want to have a shot at the title. Surely LSP will be a focus for Moscow on the defensive side of the puck. If they can shut him down and get a little bit of offense, Moscow has a great shot at the repeat.
