  1. 1. I didn't pay too much attention to how Davos did in the draft because I just got here but I have a great feeling about the prospect pool here. 2. Its pretty cool, I was not expecting to get traded but I'm excited for the opportunity to meet new people in the locker room. 3. Horribly, I should have done more research at the start of the season. 4. I didn't pay any attention to the hall of fame inductions so I have no comment other than I can't wait until I'm inducted 5. I can't wait, I have been missing the VHL. It has become apart of my daily routine to check it and without sims happening I'm lost lol. 6. Wheels 1000% Wheels are everywhere not only on methods of transportation, but in machinery as well.
  2. 1. Felt great, too bad the outcome wasn't what we wanted. After two full seasons I'm still waiting on my first playoff win. 2. I am very happy with my player, I was not expecting to do anywhere near as well as I did but thanks to some pretty good luck and being on a good line, I managed to finish top 10 in most offensive categories. 3. Unfortunately I already know where we finished and it is not at all what I expected or hoped, we got very unlucky but that is the way it goes sometimes. 4. I was looking forward to playing Mexico because I played for them last year but now that we got swept by them I am feeling thoroughly underwhelmed. 5. Any type of nuts. Whether it is trail mix or a bag of bar nuts of a bag of almonds, nuts are great for traveling because with the exception of peanuts, they do not make a big mess. 6. I am already on Riga and Vasteras and am definitely looking forward to moving up a league.
  3. 1. I would very much like to hit 50 goals, that would be a huge step in the right direction and I definitely think it is possible. 2. My former GM on Mexico Justin Lose was tearing up the VHL in my first year and he helped me a lot in building a strong offensive build. 3. Riga took a chance on me and drafted me pretty early on so I am definitely a fan of theirs. I hope they will still be competing for first when I get called up. 4. Any and all Benjamin Franklin Chang GIFS. Those slap. 5. SUSHIIIIII. Sushi is the single greatest food and if you disagree you are wrong. 6.Daniel Clarke has a really nice build and a normal sounding name unlike Benjamin Franklin Chang and Faith Hope Love which are more similar to the names of NBA players such as Ennis Freedom and Metta World Peace.
  4. 1. I didn't pay too much attention to the all star game because I took a brief break from VHL however i enjoyed voting for some former and current teammates to make it. 2. Tkachuk is a beast, Danny Heatley had one of the greatest one and done seasons of all time, Ray Emery (RIP) was a top 3 goalie in the league for a while, Chara was only in Ottawa for a cup of coffee but definitely developed into a powerhouse d man for Boston and Daniel Alfredsson is one of the best to ever play for Ottawa. Thats my dream team. 3. I think we have answered all the questions with our lineup and are hitting our stride at the perfect time to lock up a better playoff spot. So we likely do not need to go hunting for more pieces. 4. The thrill of winning of course. 5. Ottawa is not the biggest market lol, let's get a nicer locker room. 6. Dr.Pepper is heaven in a bottle. It is the ultimate liquid and I stand by that opinion religiously.
  5. 1. I am more than happy with how I have been doing. My goal was to average a point per game and I am doing better than that so I am thrilled. 2. I think we still need a few defensive reinforcements. We score plenty however our goals against is still quite high. 3I considered it, however I worry that I will commit to doing so and then not being able to fulfill my duties if life gets in the way. 4. Definitely TV, I find it difficult to commit to spending two hours essentially doing nothing, whereas TV you can easily pick up on the go. 5. Watching it with my dad as a kid. It was the first sport I ever took seriously. 6. As of right now it is certainly Riga, they drafted me and this is my first player so I am very happy they took a chance on my player.
  6. 1. I think we need a bit more help on defence and if we can get that we are looking good for a three-peat. 2. The Reapers are really good so I want to take them down badly. We can do it we just gotta have some luck on our side. 3. I was in the VHLM last year and was on Mexico City. 4. My friend who is on another team in the VHLM told me about it and it sounded interesting so I joined a few days after he did. 5. Guess I'm starving. 6. We have a great attack and have had some really high scoring games. That being said I think or cohesion and lines are definitely top notch and give us a big advantage before sims even happen.
  7. 1. I think it would be a good idea to shore up our prospects with a few more defensemen because we are leaning towards significantly more offence. 2. That really sucks but we will turn it around with this draft class. The prospects are looking good we just need to wait a bit. 3. I like winter, my only issue with it is getting wet feet. Wet socks and shoes suck so badly but other than that winter is great. 4. Yes I am very happy for him. He was my manager in the VHLM and I wish nothing but the best for him. 5. I am not sure what happened but that does not sound good. 6. Summer is a bit overrated. There is no football or hockey to watch but baseball is always a fun third option. I could do without the extreme heat though, Spring and Fall are my favourite in terms of temperature.
  8. 1. Not very, I was expecting us to do better for a while. At the start, we were a bad mix of guys underperforming and guys taking too many penalties but we resolved that issue and have turned it around. 2. Eldon has really been a force all over the ice. Getting to play with him definitely made me get more points which I am thankful for but he should be our MVP for sure. 3. This tournament gave me a very good idea of where I stack up in terms of people who made players around the same time I did. 4. I have really liked the experience, it has been a great group of guys and I can't wait to play with them down the road. 5. I am a little disappointed to say that I do not think we can come back from the deficit we find ourselves in. I think we will push a game 5 but will lose it then. 6. Probably not, I do not. have a ton of free time and have no experience being a manager in the vhl.
  9. 1. This was my first team in the VHL ever and it will always be close to my heart, the management were amazing and I hope I get to return soon. 2. I agree with them, in my opinion Brindamour hasn't gotten the recognition he has deserved over the past few years so I am glad to see him getting recognition. 3. The Atlantic is toughhhh, I can realistically see four teams in the Atlantic winning the cup. 4. The fact that the Ducks are incredibly competitive in Pacific is proof that the division is garbage. I can't see any team being serious contenders in the long run. They all just seem mediocre at best. 5. Breakfast. Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, need I say more. 6. Dogs are far superior. Corgis and Beagles are the cutest thing on the planet.
  10. 1. I am enjoying this tournament so far, I just wish my player was performing better as he has not lived up to his second round billing. 2. I think we will certainly bounce back, we need to stay out of the box and I know that once we do we will be unstoppable. 3. Our backstop has played amazing so I believe they deserve the MVP so far. We haven't been too helpful at slowing the onslaught of shots so we need to support our goalie more. 4. Probably not, I do not have the most free time in the world and my player is definitely not a fighter haha. 5. I think that our team as a whole will dial back on the penalty minutes so I believe that Pete will see a drop off in his PIM numbers. 6. Being on a new team and thus, getting to meet a whole new group of guys is very fun and exciting.
  11. 1. No I hadn't, I just assumed that in the offseason of the VHL there were no games but am pleasantly surprised by the junior showcase. 2. I do not look at my TPE rankings compared to other players often so I can not really say if I think I was drafted at the right time. I am happy to be drafted at all. 3. I like it a lot, getting a perspective of what a different locker room looks like is important as I will be on many teams in my career so it is fun meeting new people. 4.Of course, I am unhappy with how things were left in the VHLM and I want to get some wins. 5. I am hoping to be up there in terms of point scoring just like I was for my VHLM team this past season. 6. I am hoping to average a point per game as I tried to do in the regular season. Hopefully I will have more luck.
  12. I forgot to claim the full amount for this.
  13. 1. The Habs couldn't possibly do worse than they were prior to the new year. 2. I unfortunately do not see us going very far. Our team has gotten much better as the season went on but Ottawa is very strong. 3. I was drafted to the Junior Showcase so I plan on participating in that. 4. Yes I do, I have already had a few interviews with some teams which is very exciting. I am not at all picky in regards to where I end up. 5. I am very active and will only improve as I continue to grow in the VHL. Along with this my player has put up relatively strong stats considering this is my first player. 6. Lately I have been reading lots of political books which I have enjoyed.
  14. 1. Unfortunately I will be getting back on the saddle and preparing for the upcoming semester of online school. 2. I would like to be able to travel once again as I, like most, have not been able to for the past two years, but given that Covid cases are on the rise again, this is not likely. 3. I got a new phone which has a battery that lasts longer than 20 minutes so it is already a million times better than my old phone. 4. I highly doubt I will have the time to commit to fulfilling a 12 TPE, however if there is a time to do it, it will be now as I don't have school. 6. I like to stay up to celebrate the new year however I do think that New Years is overrated as a holiday. 7. Starting to workout, I have fallen victim to this New Year's Resolution in the past, however this year will be different or at least I will keep telling myself that.
  15. 1. My goal throughout the season has been to average a point per game and currently I am just under that. If I am able to reach a point per game I will be happy with myself. 2. We were riding high the past few weeks however we have run into an unlucky streak so I am hoping we can get back into form before the playoffs start. 3. I have done quite a bit of looking into teams in higher leagues, as for my hopes about who drafts me I am hoping to go somewhere where my player gets plenty of playing time similar to on Mexico City. My career is still very young and thus, I am not nearly looking to win championships as I am trying to get good stats. 4. I have said it before and I will say it again, Sushi is a food that transcends the need for special occasions. It is the best food and should be enjoyed by all, year round. 5. Italy looking good, I think they are going to go all the way. 7. My ideal Christmas gift would be a baby blue Goyard backpack but I currently do not have the money for that so I will have to make do with my Jansport. But when I am older and making better money my life's goal will be to own a Goyard backpack.
  16. 1. We have been doing significantly better than the start of the season. Lately we have been winning at least one game a day, a few weeks ago we were struggling to get wins at all. 2. I do not have much of a preference as to where I end up in the draft. I am still very new so I still have plenty of time to win championships later on. 3. A team in the Maritimes would be pretty cool! They have no professional sports teams out there. As for the team name, maybe Lobers? 5. I do not think there will be any changes that significant in Hockey. Seeing as how physically demanding playing any one position is, having someone who is responsible for covering the whole ice like a rover would do seems like it would require an impossible amount of stamina. 6. Canada of course, in the Summer Olympics we tend to do poorly but given that we face such strong winter's we are better prepared than most. 7. a question that is sure to cause some fierce debate is LeBron vs MJ. In my opinion its LeBron by a mile, the level of play is so much higher these days and he has carried a lot of scrubs to relevance.
  17. +10 TPE for Benjamin Franklin Chang... start of the legacy
  18. 1. Our team has been doing great as of late, and since the start of our hot streak I have been increasing my TPE in both scoring and defensive. I am hoping to continue upgrading these stats. 2. I am slowly but surely getting the hang of the VHL user interface so no I have no questions. 3. I believe that Ronan has played incredibly well and it seems that we do well when he is scoring. 4. I plan on studying a lot and am going to go to a concert closer to the holidays. 5. Sushi may not be a holiday food but in my opinion it is a year round food, I love it so much. 6.Every year, no matter how old we get, my siblings and I take photos with a mall Santa every year. It is a funny tradition that we are way to old for but that adds to the fun of it.
  19. 1. I am more than happy with how my player has been playing. Despite lack luster defensive play, I am getting top line minutes and am playing up to it. 2. My player is living up to how I have upgraded him and is a solid top line playmaker. My character's best skills are skating and passing so my many assists mean I am playing up to the hype. 3. I am unsure about how the draft works? I am currently on a team but am still am eligible to be drafted. 5. Montreal Canadiens forever and always, with Bergevin out they will be ushering in a new culture of winning. 6. Ovechkin will pass Gretzky there is no doubt in my mind that he will it is just a matter of time. I highly doubt he will retire before breaking the record. 8. I have been saying for some time that Calgary needs to rebuild, the current core has given them no success and I feel that if they do not make a deep playoff push this year, they will need to clean house.
  20. The Junior Review of First Year Mexico City Kings Player Benjamin Franklin Chang I have been playing the wonderful sport of hockey for seemingly all of my life. Growing up in Botswana, there were very few hockey rinks as well as a strong lack of people wanting to play the amazing sport of puck. In spite of this, I grew up to love the sport due to my Canadian father's love of the game being instilled in me from an early age. My mother, a Chinese woman, was not nearly as fond of the sport as my father but still supported me through thick and thin. Growing up as a Botswana hockey player definitely proved to be challenging, however I feel as though it has made me a more resilient person, as well as a more resilient player on the ice. While the lack of ice time certainly stunted my development as a player, once I moved to Canada when I was sixteen years old, I was able to catch up on the missed time on the ice. Coming to Canada and observing the Hockey and level of play across the country was a culture shock for sure. The love for the sport from British Colombia to Prince Edward Island was something I had only heard of up until that point. Because as previously mentioned, Hockey was a relatively new concept in Botswana, never mind a country wide adored past time. I am a proud Botswanan Hockey player and will represent the Blue and Black until I eventually decide to hang up the skates. Because of the lack of support for hockey in my home country, I am hoping to be an inspiration for younger generations of Botswanan boys and girls to pick up a stick and play the sport that we have all grown to love here in the VHL. I feel that by the simple fact of me being in the VHL, the game of Hockey is already being spread to my home country and I hope that in spite of the year round hot weather, that funding as well as public interest increase. A main aspiration of my being in the VHL is to make enough money of the course of my career to be able to market the game of Hockey in Botswana by means of building the necessary infrastructure in order to support the growth and development of young players to eventually make a pipeline to lead them to the VHL. Overall, I am very much looking forward to the season and career I have ahead of me. Pictured below is one of the largest ice rinks in my home country. As you can clearly see, it leaves much to be desired. This is the primary motivation behind my wanting to increase the popularity of the sport among the youth in my hometown.
  21. 1. I am not expecting much out of Benjamin Franklin Chang, it is only my first season in the VHL. In spite of this I am hoping to see steady improvement week to week from my player. 2. I am looking forward to hopefully being linemates with long time friend Lucas Accardi. 3. My friend Lucas told me about the VHL and it sounded like a cool concept so I decided to check it out and was impressed. 4. I am aiming to be better than my friends when it is all said and done. All three of us made VHL players at the same time so I am hoping to best them in the end. 5. Sushi is by far my favourite food. If i was forced to eat any food for the rest of my life it would undoubtedly be sushi because of the ever changing variety and quality. 7. The Montreal Canadiens are winning it all, they are just off to a rough start but will surely bounce back and have a long cup run just like last year.
