Ninefingers is stayin in the M ! Great post
-
Gonna miss you fools!! Thanks for making it so much fun in Vancouver. Great post too, although best defender is PEB for sure. That being said Brian Payne's cousin, Logan Ninefingers is coming!!!
-
1. PEB. Close battle with Payne but PEB is more consistent in playoffs and better offensively. 2. Oreo McFluery ir Girts. Both are studs come playoffs. Quiet assassins. 3. wann Kerr. Active in Lr and always buzzing on the ice 4.Wann Kerr. Consistent and always seems to be on score board. 5. No. Great post 6. well. I’m one of them. I’m sad leaving such a great club. Gonna miss y’all and hope that someday i end up playing with at least some of you again. Logan Ninefingers is working hard so who knows. Maybe end up a Wolf again.

The VHLM dispersal draft is coming, and this is my first time that I will have been drafted into the VHLM. My first gen player, Brian Payne joined San Diego as a free agent too late to be drafted so I am a little excited to see where old Logan Ninefingers ends up. Dinking around with the draft page today I see the player list. In the #1 spot is Phillip Rave with 225 TPE (25 banked) so not sure if he’s playing in M or E next season. Number 2 spot is George Richmond @badcolethetitan. Badcole is a TPE earning beast so I am sure Richmond will be in the #1 or 2 spot if he decides to stay in the M. #2 spot for TPE is my player with 172. Vanellope von Schweetz @Arce is # 4 with 163. Now I am not sure if that will reflect that exact position in the draft as some most of the top 15 in TPE will be at max toward the beginning of the season so they would all be quality picks. Plus, there is a lot of veteran talent VHL wise in the S92 so it’s anyone’s guess who can go in certain spots of the draft. Anyway I am pumped to see how it shakes out.

Another week has passed and teams have been crowned champions. The dreaded off season is upon us so for this weeks Around the League in 500 words I want to chat about those champs, some off season blues, and maybe some random stuff. VHL Champs: Prague Phantoms Congrats to the Continental Champions, Prague Phantoms. They defeated a very good LA Stars team, 4 games to 0. Led by center, John Jameson @Frank 11-13-24 points in 16 games. The team scored a whopping 54 goals in the playoffs and won 7 straight games to secure their first ever Continental Cup. The team had it all this playoffs, great defense led by Faith Hope Love @MMFLEXand Velociraptor Greg @samx, dominant scoring with Jameson, Hampton @TownBizness, and Perry Laperriere @KaleebtheMighty, and a brick wall in net, Matt Murdock @Acydburn who only lost 2 games all playoffs with 2 overtime losses. Congrats to y’all for a great playoff! VHLM Champs: Mississauga Hounds In the VHLM the Miami Marauders faced off against a deep and seasoned Mississauga Hound club. A commitment to Team defense by the Hounds is what separated the two clubs. Miami was up early in the series and after a few adjustments by Mississauga they were able to take the Founders Cup in 7 games. Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard was unstoppable in the playoffs scoring 12 goals 12 assists 24 points in 17 games. And despite being outshot some games the Hound’s goalie, Red Panda @lemorse proved up to the task and stopped everything the Marauders threw his way. A special shoutout to Marauder players Sebastaian Thunder @Matt thunder 12-13-25, defenseman Lionel Collberg 7-17-24 @Masu Chan, and Oden Bell @WhiskyJack 10-14-24pts who were amazing all season. VHLE Champs: Cologne Express. In Europe, the Cologne Express defeated the Rome Gladiators 4 games to 3 in a great battle. Led by their star center, Sjin @Sjin 8g-12-20pts they wrecked Vasteras Iron Eagles in round 1 4 games to 1 before moving on to Rome. Cologne was the #4 seed going into the playoffs, with the toughest schedule. Knocking off the #1 seed Vasteras and then #2 seed in Rome was a huge achievement. Congrats! DRAFT HYPE I was surfing the forum and stat page today and saw the draft rankings and TPE of some upcoming draft eligible players. New York and Warsaw pick 1 and 2 most likely so I was curious to see who would go in top 5. I also see some exceptional veteran talent available for draft. Thor Reingaard @N0HBDY, Callum Gary Yannick Janser @Daniel JanserDaniel, Spanish Moon Moth @Renomitsu, Grimgor Ironhide @FrostBeard, Leif Reingaard @Zetterberg, goalie Red Panda @Lemorse7, Mina @Baozi, Olober Syko @Spartan , and Roby Kadachi @ROOKIE745 are just a few names available. All are over 330 TPE and and are TPE earning machines. Each will be a game changer for any organization that picks them in the draft. Looking over the draft picks available to teams I see Calgary has two picks in first round, NY two picks, and Warsaw has 7 total picks (3 in second round). It looks like NY, Calgary, and Warsaw are poised to get back to some winning with some great picks available. See ya next week

Mississauga Hounds win the cup, Kadachi celebrates!!

For this weeks Around the League in 500 words I wanted to chat about the playoffs, off-season blues, where is Jake Thunder, and some other random shit to get me some TPE. VHLM Finals vs To everyone’s surprise the gritty Miami Marauders defeated the San Diego Marlins in 7 games shocking the VHLM universe. The top team all season, the Marlins were stacked from front to back and favored to win. During the season the Marlins were 57-13-2 and had won every game they faced versus the Marauders. Miami took it personal apparently and committed to team defense and shocked the Marlins in the semi-finals. Miami is off to face the Mississauga Hounds who are led by Grimgor Ironhide @frostbeard. After the first two games the teams are tied at 1-1, with both games being low scoring and close. Hopefully (selfishly) Miami can stay hot and knock off another Giant of club and win it all. JAKE THUNDER WHERE ARE YOU? So my good pal Jake Thunder @Thunderis again having an award winning season and is helping Davos try to win another Continental Cup. Davos is currently in the EU finals against an elite Prague Phantoms team. A proven playoff performer, Thunder currently has 1 goal 8 assists for 9 points in 8 games. Not shabby but not the numbers we saw last year when he was lighting the lamp, blocking shots, and being a damn pest all over the ice. While stalking his stats I discovered one very, very shocking stat in his update log!!!!! He hasn’t earned any TPE since September Tenth!!!. What is going on! Thunder, a typical maxed out TPE earning beast has stopped made me wonder if he was, ok??? Has he hit burnout? We have talked about just how hard it is to do media spots every week since we both suck at graphics, and he hates his voice on a podcast. Is he alive? Injured? Now Thunder lives only about 20 minutes from my house so I decided reached out. I exchanged a few text messages from him, and we spoke about my daughter’s hockey practices and getting together for a Everett Silvertips game since he has season tickets. We didn’t talk much VHL other than he did mention he liked not having to do a media spot lately. So, I am guessing a bit of burnout from earning (I hope) and I hope to see my pal back in the game soon. Best of luck in EU finals Thunder. Off Season So the offseason is upon some of us and I find this time of year to be the hardest to stay motivated to earn. Now I do have my re-create in the VHLM finals so it makes it a bit easier this season. But having been on a team that has not made the playoffs or been bounced early it is hard and seems to drag forever. Is there any remedy for this? I know VHL admin might need the break and I can appreciate that for sure. Junior showcase, Pro Am, and other tourneys do help and also offer new players to try their hand at GMing. Is there anything else that can be added? Im curious to hear views? I did hear one I liked once that all players get 12TP automatic during offseason instead of having to do point tasks for that week? See ya next week

Hey peeps. Crashing your PC for TPE since y'all are awesome about getting it up early. 1. Offseason is the worst!! Tough to find stuff to write about and just boring. I am lucky my re-create is in the finals right now in M but otherwise offseason is terrible. 2. Press Conference. Still requires a bit of work but overall quicker than MS. 3. Probably the original learning curve when you first start. 4. I really like the idea of building your player and seeing him grow and become good, the more work you put in. 5. Being led in scoring by a defensemen in reg season was pretty cool for me to see. And in playoffs London CAUGHT FIRE. 36 goals is highest scored by any team and Triller/Cat combo was deadly as hell. Thought an upset was coming the way London was playing. 6. Logan Ninefingers is dressing up as Karl Racki from hockey movie Youngblood.

Its Official. The Vancouver Wolves have been eliminated in 7 games by a very tough Toronto club. Hats off to the Toronto players and to @Moon and @animal74 for having such class and building a complete club. I wish you the very best of luck in the conference finals. For Vancouver, this marks the end of the road for veteran players, Girts Galvins @Girts, Hockley Mann @Sen, and Brian Payne. All of us truly wish we could have helped bring a Continental Cup to the Wolves and especially for @Frank for bringing us to such a great club. I like to say a special “thank you” to my remaining teammates @JB123, @dogwoodmaple, @STZ, @VattghernCZ, @Gaikoku-hito, @Subject056, @CODENAMEJIMMY, and @Tate. You have all made me feel welcome and had a fun active locker room which is always nice. Best of luck in the future to all my teammates and hopefully my new player, Logan Ninefingers will get to play with a few of ya somewhere.

Thank you !!

So, I have been gone for a week due to work travel so had to catch up a bit. So for this week Around the League, I will chat about the VHLM Playoffs, LA’s dominant victory in the VHL, and some other random stuff to get me to 500 words since my new VHLM player is stinking the rink up. LA SWEEPS DC In the western conference, the LA Starts have to wait patiently for the winner of Vancouver and Toronto after an amazing sweep of a very good DC Dragon’s club. They were led by Svatopluk Puk 3-4-7pts, Todd Cooke 2-4-6pts , Napoleon Dynamite 2-3-5pts, and Dman, Callum Murray Also, in net is future stud tender, Art Vandelay .965, 1.25 GAA, and 1 shutout. LA is going to be well rested and tough to beat for the Western conference championship. In another few days we will see if its either the Vancouver Wolves or Toronto Legion. Marauders taking Marlins to Game 7 So as I type this I just saw that the Miami Marauders just defeated the stacked San Diego Marlins in game 6, (5-2). The Marlins are truly a Goliath hockey club but with 38 shots on net and only one penalty the Marlins played smart hockey to force a game 7. With the 2nd star my player, Logan Ninefingers FINALLY helped the team out with 1goal 2 assists and was a +3. It has been frustrating to say the least to see NInefingers not produce for a fun Miami club. While this is my second player in VHL I still feel like a noob when putting TPE in and thought I added points early to what would help him in the VHLM. However, the Marauders do have three players who are always on fire and they are Lionel Collberg 5-12-17 pts, Sebastian Thunder 8-8-16pts, and Eno Velvson 6-6-12pts. In net, the Marauders have relied on David Slezak. The giant tender is 7-4 in playoffs with a .914 Save percentage, 2.48 GAA, and 1 shutout. For the Marauders to see a good game 7 they will have to have Velvson on point and a commitment to team defense with some disciplined hockey. I am excited to see what tomorrow brings. Rip Wheeler Update So, I just spent a week with Rip Wheeler @ScottyPin Oregon for work stuff. During that time, we talked about the VHL and his current player’s progress. So, after looking at his updates and his secondary interest in Fantasy Football where he sits #1 in that league, I noticed something. He spent every waking minute (when not drinking) looking at his FF club, making moves, researching players, etc. It made me realize with conviction that he is……a DISAPPOINTMENT. If he put in a third of the time clicking the welfare button, doing a quick PC, or just getting drunk and stumble through a media spot he’d be a beast for a Calgary club that is used to winning. Anyway Rip, be better because Logan Ninefingers is coming for you!!

With a great series win over the Las Vegas Aces, the Miami Marauders moved on to the second round of the VHLM playoffs and had to face the daunting San Diego Marlins. Now, despite a very talented Miami club, they have yet to beat the stacked Marlins in regular-season play. 4-0 in playoffs so far the Marlins are led by LW Eric White Jr who has 1 g 7a 8 pts in four games. The depth that the Marlins have in players like Gustav Mattias, Phillip Rave, and Leif Reingaard are going to be challenging to stop. The Marauders must lean on total team effort and a commitment to defense to stop the surging Marlins. Defensman, Lionel Collberg, and LW Sebastian Thunder have stepped up and helped Miami all season. But for the Marauders to pull this upset off they need their depth players like rookie Logan Ninefingers to step up. My prediction – Marauders in 7

1. I was confident we were gonna win. I live just north of Seattle so if we lost I’d burn down their facility. 2. Yes. I feel Oreo and Girts will flourish this round. 3. it will come down but his points will increase. He’s a beast in playoffs. 4. nah. He found his game. He will be better next round. 5, Team defense and lots of pucks on net. 6. We are being underestimated for sure. We almost won a cup last year with this club so we shouldn’t be upset they are counting us out
-
I didn’t ask for them. They are dope tho.
-
Currying favor for what?
-
Love it. Thank you!!!
-
You inspired me with Druss to come up with good name. Now If only Logan can hit like Deathwalker I’ll be happy
-
Crashing your PC 1. the fact that Rip doubled his scoring. He still disappoints with TPE earning but much better 2. I hope so. Mo is a hitting machine tho 3. Toronto is unstoppable 4. no. I hate tanking but I get it 5. Blade. Bad ass sword 6. caviar. Not sure why. Seems like something weird to try best of Luck Calgary! Demote Rip to minors.

LOGAN NINEFINGERS PROSPECT SCOUTING REPORT RW-MIAMI MARUADERS S90 S91 VHLM TEAM -TBD As the end of Season 90 comes near the VHLM saw Junior phenom Logan Ninefingers sign with the Miami Marauders for the playoff push. This offseason Logan will enter the VHLM draft. We have had a few games to view the big right winger so lets talk about his strengths and weaknesses thus far: S90 Games so far: 11 GP 2G 2A 4 Pts -1 18 shots 0 PIM 19 hits 3 shots blocked 1 GW goal STRENGTHS: Size: Logan has size at 6 05 240 pounds and speed to go with it. He can glide in and out of defenders or knock them over. He plays a heavy game in front of the net and does his best work knocking in junk rebounds. He has a mean streak to go with the size as seen with his hits and penalty minute totals in Junior. Release: So despite looking like a locomotive, Logan has a quick release on his shot that can stifle opposing goalies. Being new to the Marauders now he has yet to develop the playing time consistent to see what his game is made of, but we anticipate next season he will have the numbers to show for his great shot. WEAKNESSES: Discipline: Well…so far, he has 0 PIMS in 11 games but it is believed that like his retirieng VHL cousin, Brian Payne the family curse doesn’t fall far. Ninefingers has said he wants to learn from Payne’s mistakes with discipline and not take stupid penalties to hurt his club, but he knows he has an emotional streak. He will need to work on this as it could cost him in the draft rankings. Defense: Playing a 200 foot game is a must for any VHL hopeful. Ninefingers knows that he needs to allocate the appropriate effort (and TPE) to defensive coverage and Poke check to make himself more valuable to the clubs that pick him up. Defense wins games his cousin tells him so I expect Logan to work on this portion of the game as soon as he can allocate the points. CONCLUSION Logan Ninefingers was asked which NHL Player he most wanted to mirror his game after. His response? Brendan Shanahan and Duncan Idaho @OrbitingDeath He said both players personified the balance between physical and scorer. The type of player that earns his shift every game and leads his team by example. If that his the type of player Logan wants to be then the VHL, VHLE, and VHLM are in for a treat!

Well I need 150 words for this week’s VHL.com so I can get some points into my new player, Logan Ninefingers. What better topic to speak about today than my friend and utter disappointment, Calgary forward Rip Wheeler @ScottyP. So yesterday, Rip and I played golf together for a Veterans of Foreign Wars tournament. A very worthy cause to benefit wounded vets and help with housing and life needs. While the cause was worthy, Rip’s golf game was NOT. Now I equate it to his level of play for Calgary currently. Lots of hits, not much in the way of scoring. Now compared to last season Rip is having a great year, however last season I thought he was going to be sent down to the VHLM again to “work on his game.” So far this year he has 10g-11a 21pts -21 111PIM and 286 hits. Pretty decent hit totals but obviously hurts the team defensively. Now here is the true stat, for Sep 24 update lot he has earned 1 (YES ONE) TPE for practice facility. I am hoping he alteast does something today to earn. I will be watching RIP. So will @Thunder.
