For this weeks Around the League in 500 words I want to talk about Rip Wheeler’s dumb ass and an amazing LA Stars club ripping through the league. RIP WHEELER So….my friend, Calgary forward Rip Wheeler @ScottyPScott, the brunt of many of my criticisms has started this season much better than last. Now last year, despite being on a line with Hall of Famer Daniel Janser, he managed 6 whole points all season…..6!. Now, I spent all last season calling him exactly what he was playing like…. a shit sack. Now this season, Calgary is without some of the amazing talent they had, and Rip has been asked to step it up a bit. He has answered the bell…somewhat. He still doesn’t understand how to shoot the puck but has come out banging. In 22 games he has amassed 102 hits, good for a tie for #1 overall with AK97 Wit a Hoodie. Pretty good turn around in one stat department. BUT…let’s look at his other contributions or lack thereof. Goals: 6 Assists 4 10 Points. Grade: Not good +/- - 1 Grade: Ok PIM: 24 - Grade: OK – not hurting the team despite hitting. SB: 4 (yes 4). Grade: WTF- don’t be scared PPG: 0 Grade: Can’t fault Rip for this. Calgary is smart to keep him off PP Shots: 46 Grade: Better- roughly two shots a game but has almost equaled all of last year’s shots (49) Overall I like the fact Rip is doing better even though I am still going to trash him so I can get my TPE for media spots and so will @Thunder. He finally hit 500 so I got 10 TPE to add to Payne so thank you Rip. I am still disappointed when I see Welfare added to his updates because I work with his lazy ass and know he has plenty of time to write something. But hopefully him leading some categories lights a fire under him. LA ON FIRE: At 22 games into the season the LA Stars are singing. There currently 16-5-1 with a league leading 78 goals and tied for league best with only 53 games allowed. This shows me that they are freaking deadly at both ends of the ice. OFFENSE: There is a lot to like about this team’s offensive firepower. Todd Cooke @KRZYhas been lights out. The #27 pick in the S84 draft is making teams that passed him up cry as he tears through the league’s best defenders. With 17G 25A 42PTS Cooke is off to an easy 100 + point season. Cooke just sees the ice so well and his passing game is on point with the best in the league. Also, up front is Napoleon Dynamite @thadthrasher and Svatopluk Puk @Otaznik who are already double digit in goals and assists. DEFENSE: So. I am always partial to defenders and there is a lot to like on this LA club. Tied for first for defensive scorers Elias Lampi @Pifferfish with 30 points. He also likes to sacrifice for his club with 52 blocked shots. Also on D is one of my favorite defenders and often overlooked as one of the leagues best, Callum Murray @Berocka. At 607 225 this smooth skating dman can hurt you at both ends of the ice. 23 goals last year, Murray can score in bunches and still cover his own end. It’s a no wonder they have only allowed 53 goals with these two patrolling the back end. Goalie: The #1 overall pick in S84, Art Vandelay is an absolute brick wall. 16-5-1 with .0926 SV% and 3 shutouts, AV @Gustav is up to about any challenge should his defense allow a forward through their already tough wall. It’s a no brainer why this club is doing so well to start and clubs will have to hit the drawing board in an effort to get pucks by this group. Kudos to @InstantRockstar for building a great team. However, I hope it all falls apart when you play Vancouver! LOL

I do as well. My dream car is a 1955 F-100 or an old 68 Bronco but there so over priced now

At the 14-game mark of the season the Vancouver Wolves are not where they want to be. In 4 games to the Los Angeles Stars they are 0-4. Now, the Stars are packed with talent and Napoleon Dynamite is on fire with 9 G 17 A 26 PTS and Todd Cooke has 12 G 12 G 24 Pts making them a very tough team offensively. And in Net, Art Vandelay is a brick wall with .935 save percentage with 2 shutouts. What can the Wolves do to answer?? First, improve team defense. Brandt Fuhr is holding it down in net but overall team defense seems to struggle against the Stars. Brian Payne is a -1 and Pierre Emile Bouchard is -2, not numbers those two are used to seeing. Next, the team needs to break out offensively. Surprisingly the slow start of the Wolves occurred last year as well, and they went on to challenge for a Cup. Once they get dialed in this club has as much or more offensive talent ready to explode. I like this early budding rivalry (well one sided so far) with LA and ho

1. The Stars have our number for sure so far. However, we started slow last season too and picked up the team defense so I expect more of the same. 2. We have shown brief glimpses of stardom and then we fall apart. Granted we have played some tough teams so I chalk it up to competition and early season jitters 3. Payne is doing ok scoring wise, but team is paying him for defense so he needs to pick that department up 4. Hockley Mann will break out to lead team. Kerr will be in #2 spot 5. Hey will have 30 by end of season 6. Not sure, I think a few bounces either way and were back to where we need to be defensively. Had a hard run of good clubs so I am sure it will even out

Great post. Payne will earn hard in his final season with hopes to bring a cup to Vancouver! I love this team!!

As I go into my final season with Defenseman, Brian Payne I really hope to end my first gen player on a high note, a Continental Cup. I have tasted whiskey from the Cup one time, and I really want to help Vancouver win it. My time in the VHL has been amazing and I am going to continue with a re-create next season that I plan on max earning with. I am struggling to choose a position for my next player. Now, I played defense in hockey growing up in hockey and football (not soccer), and my favorite players in the NHL are defensemen. So, with that being said, I would love a vote from some of the few of you who probably are going to read this. Here are four build types below. Please help me choose my next player: 1: Rugged defenseman with scoring touch: Player similar type: Brian Payne/Jake Thunder 2. Gritty forward that hits and scores: Player similar type: Duncan Idaho/Vasile Lamb 3. Offensive Defenseman: Player similar type: Tui Sova/Callum Murray 4. Enforcer/Scorer/hitter Player similar type: Vinny Detroit/Druss Deathwalker

1. Dogwood Maple. 50 goal season 2. Pierre Emile Bouchard will lead not only team but league in assists. 3. maple I predict. 50 and 50 4. hmmm… I’d say Oreo McFluery 5. Easy..Brian Payne will be most penalized player. Although I did reduce the grit last year and it helped keep me under 200 PIMS. After depreciation it went down further so hopefully it helped. I’m guessing 6 majors and 160 PIMS 6. the future

Well…were almost to the start of another season (and final season for my player). I am excited and a little melancholy about it too. From a wandering clueless player to now seems like such a long journey. I have also been gone all week so haven’t surfed the forum for shit to talk about today, so I am going to wing it. RIP WHEELER GIVEN THE A (what is Calgary thinking?) Well one article I did read today was some ass kissing drivel probably written by his daughter. Calgary’s very own Rip Wheeler @ScottyPwas named Assistant captain. Now I know Calgary lost some amazing talent BUT I would have named the puck bag the assistant captain before Rip FUCKING Wheeler. I mean let’s just look at this pylon. In 72 games, and playing on the top line with two legends, he managed to irk out 3 goals and 3 assists. I mean REALLY!!! With Daniel Janser on his line, he could fall over into the net and get three goals. And to add insult to his Mr Wheeler wrote that he wanted to be the next Eric Lindros so lets look at his physicality and commitment to the club. Rip had 72 PIMS and 129 hits. Not horrible but still nowhere near the animal he always claims he is. AND THEN>>>> He had 6 blocked shots!!! I mean 6!. WTF are you doing Rip? The only thing that makes sense here is you are deathly afraid of the puck on both ends of the ice. Although I did pick you for most improved on predictions as there is no way you can’t double your shit sack stats next season ( I think). And don’t think I didn’t see your threats to Payne and Thunder @Thunder next season. Our players might be getting old, but I don’t think it will take much to knock over a pylon. See you next week on the ice ( and at work). GIRTS JOINS VANCOUVER Girts “the silent assassin” Galvins @Girts joined the Wolves this off-season and Brian Payne could not be happier. Teammates in the VHLE and then they won a Continental Cup together in Warsaw they hope to ignite the Wolves to another cup in their final seasons. Girts is a former Kevin Brooks and Dustin Funk trophy winner. He puts up great numbers to include a 54 goal season in S86. We will see what line he’s on but either line he will play with the likes of Wann Kerr, Oreo McFleury, Hockley Mann, or Dogwood Maple. That is very good for a Vancouver team looking to win it all. But what makes the former #17 overall pick in the S82 draft so great is he is the perfect teammate. While quiet he always is a positive presence in the locker room and makes some bad ass graphics. Well, that’s about all I got for this week. Still need to type a 150 word article for my two TPE. Look forward to the season y’all..

By the way @Thunder This is what Payne is gonna do to you this season

I don't know what to do with his useless ass. As soon as he gets to 500 I will forget him completely

The Off-season is officially on us in the VHL and it usually makes it the toughest time to find stuff to write about. So for this weeks Around the League in 500 words I will probably talk about some random shit, my final season before re-create, and probably talk shit about Rip Wheeler’s useless ass. BRIAN PAYNE’S FINAL SEASON It seems like just yesterday when I was surfing the internet and found this SIM league called Victory Hockey League. I searched the website and hemmed and hawed about creating a player. I probably clicked the link twenty times before committing to making what I hoped to be a solid stay and home defender. After getting my email from the league and stood by as the offers to sign as a free agent began. I am not going to lie, it was pretty cool. Then the work began. After a bit of a learning curve I was taken in by the VHL community and started earning. Next, the draft which I watched on Twitch while eating dinner with my family. (They called me a nerd). Drafted late, I spent the next season in the VHLE which to me was a very fun experience. Arriving in the VHL was amazing and after two season I was blessed with winning a Cup in Warsaw. And after a Cup loss this season to my rival Jake Thunder I realized I am hungry for more cup wins and still love playing this SIM league. This is my final season, so I am happy to take it all in and enjoy it. I am with a great crew in Vancouver with a very active locker room and some outstanding people. They certainly make the Wolves feel like a TEAM and I am proud to play for them. I am hoping we can get another run at a Cup before Payne hangs em up. So, what’s next after retirement. Well, I plan to make another player and try to max earn again. I have gone back and forth on whether to make another defender, which is the position I played and the one I feel best about but part of me wants to make a forward like all-time great Duncan Idaho, who was tearing up the league when I first joined. Time will tell but I am leaning toward another defender A sincere thanks to all who have helped Payne along the way and to those that make this league so great. RIP WHEELER WTF Since joining the VHL I have recruited three players. First, was Davos legend and future HOF Defenseman, Jake Thunder @Thunder. Next, was another friend named Ort who languished in the VHLM and never did much. Finally, there is Rip Wheeler @ScottyP. Rip is currently playing for Calgary on the top line with some elite players, yet he finished the season as Thunder puts it, “A giant shit sack.” Now I work with Wheeler, so I bust his balls constantly to earn TPE. Mainly because I want my recruitment TPE to ease my wounds from depreciation. BUT I have to wait for 29 more TPE for him to get to 500 for my damn TPE. And at the rate he is earning it won’t be soon. SO here I am trying to shame him into writing a media spot or something to speed the process.

Crashing your PC 1. Well… just got done losing in finals to Davos so still licking my wounds. 2. Hmm..not sure. So tough to tell in VHLE who will be avail. This is my final season before I recreate. Then you can draft me 3. I think it will be ok. Not really sure 4. Oilers and Krakken 5. yes for sure. Dead locker rooms suck. Makes it tough to stay motivated sometimes if nobody on club talks. It’s a must for me 6. Because he’s DEGROOT! I won a Cup with Rory in Warsaw. Enough said

It does! And won't happen again

S89 is over and congrats to a very tough Davos club who beat us (Vancouver) in a tough final. It was bittersweet for me (Payne) as my buddy and biggest rival Jake Thunder is now hoisting the Continental Cup filled with Mango White Claw. Now I know Thunder in real life and the rivalry between Payne and Thunder @Thunder is real and fun at the same time. Jake Thunder is the epitome of a Hall of Fame Dman and as a first Gen player that makes it even more impressive. While it sucks ass to lose the cup, I am happy for him and a Davos club that has been so close to taking it all for a few years now. That being said, Brian Payne has signed his final year contract to remain with the Vancouver Wolves. The Wolves have been an amazing club to be a part of with an active LR and some great people all around. I look forward to facing Davos in S90 with some grit and nastiness and hoist that cup one more time before I re-create.
