  1. I didn’t ask for them. They are dope tho.
  2. Currying favor for what?
  3. Love it. Thank you!!!
  4. You inspired me with Druss to come up with good name. Now If only Logan can hit like Deathwalker I’ll be happy
  5. Crashing your PC 1. the fact that Rip doubled his scoring. He still disappoints with TPE earning but much better 2. I hope so. Mo is a hitting machine tho 3. Toronto is unstoppable 4. no. I hate tanking but I get it 5. Blade. Bad ass sword 6. caviar. Not sure why. Seems like something weird to try best of Luck Calgary! Demote Rip to minors.
  6. LOGAN NINEFINGERS PROSPECT SCOUTING REPORT RW-MIAMI MARUADERS S90 S91 VHLM TEAM -TBD As the end of Season 90 comes near the VHLM saw Junior phenom Logan Ninefingers sign with the Miami Marauders for the playoff push. This offseason Logan will enter the VHLM draft. We have had a few games to view the big right winger so lets talk about his strengths and weaknesses thus far: S90 Games so far: 11 GP 2G 2A 4 Pts -1 18 shots 0 PIM 19 hits 3 shots blocked 1 GW goal STRENGTHS: Size: Logan has size at 6 05 240 pounds and speed to go with it. He can glide in and out of defenders or knock them over. He plays a heavy game in front of the net and does his best work knocking in junk rebounds. He has a mean streak to go with the size as seen with his hits and penalty minute totals in Junior. Release: So despite looking like a locomotive, Logan has a quick release on his shot that can stifle opposing goalies. Being new to the Marauders now he has yet to develop the playing time consistent to see what his game is made of, but we anticipate next season he will have the numbers to show for his great shot. WEAKNESSES: Discipline: Well…so far, he has 0 PIMS in 11 games but it is believed that like his retirieng VHL cousin, Brian Payne the family curse doesn’t fall far. Ninefingers has said he wants to learn from Payne’s mistakes with discipline and not take stupid penalties to hurt his club, but he knows he has an emotional streak. He will need to work on this as it could cost him in the draft rankings. Defense: Playing a 200 foot game is a must for any VHL hopeful. Ninefingers knows that he needs to allocate the appropriate effort (and TPE) to defensive coverage and Poke check to make himself more valuable to the clubs that pick him up. Defense wins games his cousin tells him so I expect Logan to work on this portion of the game as soon as he can allocate the points. CONCLUSION Logan Ninefingers was asked which NHL Player he most wanted to mirror his game after. His response? Brendan Shanahan and Duncan Idaho @OrbitingDeath He said both players personified the balance between physical and scorer. The type of player that earns his shift every game and leads his team by example. If that his the type of player Logan wants to be then the VHL, VHLE, and VHLM are in for a treat!
  7. Well I need 150 words for this week’s VHL.com so I can get some points into my new player, Logan Ninefingers. What better topic to speak about today than my friend and utter disappointment, Calgary forward Rip Wheeler @ScottyP. So yesterday, Rip and I played golf together for a Veterans of Foreign Wars tournament. A very worthy cause to benefit wounded vets and help with housing and life needs. While the cause was worthy, Rip’s golf game was NOT. Now I equate it to his level of play for Calgary currently. Lots of hits, not much in the way of scoring. Now compared to last season Rip is having a great year, however last season I thought he was going to be sent down to the VHLM again to “work on his game.” So far this year he has 10g-11a 21pts -21 111PIM and 286 hits. Pretty decent hit totals but obviously hurts the team defensively. Now here is the true stat, for Sep 24 update lot he has earned 1 (YES ONE) TPE for practice facility. I am hoping he alteast does something today to earn. I will be watching RIP. So will @Thunder.
  8. For this weeks Around the League in 500 words I will chat about the VHLM race since my new players if now a few games in, a Tough Guy tribute, and some other random shit. VHLM Race to Playoffs: So, I am into my first two weeks with the Miami Marauders and Logan Ninefingers is getting his legs underneath him. Still low TPE I am ready to max out another week to get him firmly entrenched in the 120s in second week. Hopefully that helps the club come playoff time. The Marauders are in a playoff spot but have some extremely tough clubs battling for contention. No team looks tougher though than the San Diego Marlins. At 53-10-2 they are smashing through the league, followed by the Saskatoon Wild, and Mississauga Hounds. All three of these clubs are stacked for battle. The Marlins are led by a trio of studs in Tyrece the beast @beanhead420420 44-54-98pts, Eric White Jr @Mysterious_Fish48-44-92, and Defensemen Leif Reingaard @Zetterberg 9-58-67 with a very notable addition of scoring depth. In net they have Olober Syko @Spartan who is 53-10-2 with 9 shutouts. Tough to beat. Saskatoon is a very balanced club as well led by Jorji Costova @Hybrid1486 35-37-72pts, Defenseman Henry Ford @JCN18-38-56, and D-Callum Gary Yannick Janser @Daniel JanserDaniel 11-34-45pts. In net Joseph Reed is crushing dream with 6 shutouts and a 2.08 GAA. Mississauga Hounds are another offensively driven club led by no other than Grimgo Ironhide @FrostBeard 46-65-111, Med @med 37-45-82, and D-Joseph Dubois @Dubois 10-61-71. In net they have Red Panda @Lemorse7 rocking it with 47 wins and 7 shoutouts. Should be an exciting playoffs. TOUGH GUY TRIBUTE I do love paying tribute to some of the tough guys floating around the league so as we come to a close of this season I would like to shine a light on a few. To start it off one can look no further than Alfred Champagne from Davos: Alfred Champagne @Anthique(DAV)- 64 games – 218 PIM and 10 fighting majors (3 wins) Holy shit Alfred has come out swinging this season! Known early in his career as a steady scoring forward with some grit he has taken it to another level that last few seasons brawling his way to a Continental Cup last year and is still duking it was competitive Davos team. Congrats pal John Jameson (PRG) @Frank- 65- 213 PIM and 6 fighting majors Ok a 50 goal scorer last year who hits, fights, and wins. This is the Brendan Shanahan player of the VHL. In his 6th year in Prague JJ isa lighting it up again and knocking fools out along the way. Jake Thunder @Thunder – 64 games 189 PIM (no fights- 92 diving minors and 1 major for embellishing) Yep, he’s a bitch. LOL. Nah just kidding pal. Not listed in fighting majors (less than 5) but the bruising (albeit aging) dman from Davos has led with his body and fists most his career. Very tough to play against it’s a no wonder he’s always in the running for trophies……especially Lady Byng Jason @Jason kranzJason- 65 games 154 PIM and 10 fighting majors. What a stud here and the perfect example of a tough guy and scorer. 50 goals and 10 fights with not a bunch of minors to hurt the club. True stud Phis Strasmore @PhilPhil- 64 games 175 PIM and 9 fighting majors. So Phil usually makes it into any tough guy tribute I do since he is always bruising it up for Calgary. He hits, scores a bit, and brawls. What’s not to love in a defenseman. Honorable mentions: Rex Wolffe Gregor 7 fights, Vasile Lamb @dlamb 7 fights, and Mo Probert @Yahtzee 6 fights (4 wins).
  9. Can't wait for the S92 visualizer!!!
  10. Review: First, great article and interesting data on progression. Your articles and graphs have always kept my interest and I usually try to search out your (and Shindigs) articles among the many. So, that being said the content was excellent. The stats related to VHLE and progression are interesting especially since the VHLE gets trashed by many as a waste of time. So what is true? Great analysis here which is fair to both side of the argument. And I am still confused... Also, when I read articles I really love the use of graphs, photos, charts, etc. Some type of visual aid always keeps my enjoyment and helps explain the data, especially here where it is a confusing topic. Anyways great topic and always look forward to more. 9/10
  11. It confused me too. I joined Miami
  12. Logan Ninefingers path to hockey was similar to many. Growing up he developed a passion for the game by following older cousin, VHL defenseman Brian Payne. Much like Ninefingers, Payne started his career slow and with a lot of doubters. Always big for his age, coaches in his hometown of Spokane Washington tried to get Logan to play football. He declined all offers and immersed himself in the game of hockey. All through childhood Logan’s work ethic was second to none. He could be heard outside shooting pucks against the garage until his mother would yell for him to go to bed. It was rare to find Logan anywhere without a hockey stick and a puck to practice with. Every morning before skill he would run along the Spokane River, then roller blade to school, and hit the weights after. Logan consumed hockey like it was air. At 16 Logan was drafted by the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey club, a bitter rival to his local favorite WHL team, the Spokane Chiefs. And just like that Logan was off to live with a billet family and play with the big kids. His first season was a bit of a culture shock from his smaller hometown to the bustling City of Seattle. Not to mention the rain is depressing as hell. Logan adjusted to the must faster kids but big for his age he held his own. What was surprising was how well he did in some training camp fights. Never really involved in fights as a kid (probably due to his size) he demolished some older kids in camp, and he liked it. That first season in Junior was a feeling out process, mostly on the 4th line, but he ended well but with Seattle getting knocked out in first round of WHL playoffs to their bitter rival the Spokane Chiefs. Logan’s final stats: 65 GP 12 G 10 A 22 Points 147 PIM 175 HITS Playoffs: 4 GP 1 G 1 A 2 Points. 25 PIM 14 Hits His next season is where Logan truly became a star. He filled out his 6-foot 5-inch frame and started gaining confidence. He blazed through opponents defenses all season long and fought just about every heavyweight in the league. Logan was establishing a reputation and all the tough guys in the league wanted their shot. The problem was with Logan’s gifted scoring touch, coaches needed him on the ice and not in the box. Much like his cousin Brian Payne, he struggled to know when to pull the trigger on a fight and when to ignore it and punish the opposing team with a timely goal or assist. This season was a turning point in Logan’s career and the Thunderbirds enjoyed some playoff success but lost in the Western Conference title in 7 games, again to their dreaded rival, the Spokane Chiefs. Regular season : 71 GP 40g 38a 78pts 237 PIM 240 Hits Playoffs: 16 GP 16g 8a 24pts 77PIM 34hits In Logan’s final season in the Western Hockey League, he wanted to win it all and get to a Memorial Cup for the first time. This was going to be his season. The season started well and the Thunderbirds were on fire winning 16 of their first 18 games. The way the season was going it was starting to look like Seattle and the Spokane Chiefs would be the two best teams again. Added to this, the Chiefs had picked up a free agent defenseman by the name of Terry Thunder. Thunder was mean, nasty, and good. And early it was clear that Ninefingers and Thunder did not like each other. In their first three matches they fought six times, two leading to game misconducts. The season progressed it was again Spokane vs Seattle in the Western Conference Final. WHL historians called it the most exciting and brutal series of all time, in a league that produced some of the toughest VHL players of all time. With over 600 penalty minutes in 7 games the refs lost their battle game in and game out. The end showed a bruised and battered Seattle club win by the score of 3-2 with Logan getting the game winner. A perfect ending for a team that could never quite match up to the dreaded Chiefs. Regular Season: 72 GP 51g 50a 101pts 301 PIM 300 hits Playoffs: 28GP 20g 24a 44pts 127PIM 61 hits Logan went on to compete in the Memorial Cup in Ottawa, but the Thunderbirds lost in the finals to a very tough London Knights club. This only meant that Logan begin his pro journey. Logan applied for and was granted a free agent pickup to the Miami Marauders in the VHLM. Logan learned early on with the Marauders club this was a whole different animal. Playing against grown men he knew he had his work cut out. With the upcoming draft Logan said that his goal is to earn as much TPE as possible and help Miami in the playoffs. He then plans on trying to match his cousin Brian Payne and become the best possible player he can and make Payne proud. Oh……and to punish Jake Thunder’s @Thunder future player.

  14. He's having a great season! Keep it up
  15. It’s Official. Logan Ninefingers has landed in Miami. The 605 235lb southpaw just finished his junior career for the Seattle Thunderbirds and is looking to make a splash in the VHLM. Why Miami you ask. Well, after 4 years of junior hockey in the Pacific Northwest he told reporters he was looking for some sun for a change. Showing up the rink in flip flops is a nice change from the chilly gun metal grey skies and onslaught of rain. Ninefingers plays a heavy game and is looking to bring a mix of physicality, defense, and some tough in front of net scoring to a team that is looking to compete for a cup. Ninefingers said he was going to hit the TPE gym hard over the next few weeks to build quickly and get ready for a playoff run with his new club. On a special note, Ninefingers just put in his first VHLM goal today so lets keep it going.
  16. 1. Hey y’all. Happy to be here and I am active. I’ll battle hard for TPE and hope u can help on playoff run. 2. means we will upset some clubs and win a cup 3. not sure. I’ve been a defenseman and now I need to find what works for my player. I’ll take whatever help I can get. 4. I want a grinding defensive forward who can bang and score. Like Duncan Idaho 5. Pizza 6 yes
  17. Well…Its official..Brian Payne has retired. As a first generation player I fell in love with the VHL community and looked forward everyday to see how my team and player performed. Payne started as a free agent signing with the San Diego Marlins in S81. I had such great leadership there with @JB123 and Payne while not great, progressed well throughout the season and playoffs. San Diego Stats: S81 72 games 11G 20A 31Pts -21 128 PIM 166 Hits 76 SB Playoffs: 13 games 6 G 11A 17Pts -6 22PIM 43 Hits 25 SB DRAFT: So I was excited to enter the S82 VHL and VHLE draft. I remember sitting at my table with my wife and young daughter watching the draft on Twitch. As I watched the draft I watched Payne sliding further and further down the list. With the 26th pick the Warsaw Predators GM @dlamb took a chance on the bruising Dman. I was pumped and wanted Payne to prove all those teams that past on me to suffer for passing Payne up. Next up was the VHLE draft and again I watched Payne again fall and fall lower in the ranks. With the 20th pick, Payne was selected by @FrostBeard to join the Bratislava Watchmen. And just like that Payne was off to Europe for the first time ever. This is where Payne learned how to be better thanks in a large part to a legend and missed VHL personality @Shindigs. He also had a player on the club (Bo Johansson). Both of us were defensemen but with very different builds. Shindigs mentored Payne in a way that eventually made him a valuable asset for teams in the future. S82 Stats: 72 games 12g 33a 45pts +2 120 PIM 178 Hits 109 SB Playoffs: 5 games 1g 1a 2pts +1 2 PIM 8 Hits 9 SB S83 I started in the VHL and I was pretty pumped for Payne. I had been trying to max TPE every week in the hopes that he could help Warsaw win a championship. Payne joined a great team with fellow teammate Girts Galvins @Girts. Payne had a lot of fun in Warsaw with a great GM and great group of active teammates. In S84 Payne won his first Continental Cup. In S85 Payne continued to have success and won a Victory Cup, Jake Wylde, and Sterline Labatte trophy. This was a huge honor considering what a talented pool of defenders that were in the league then. Payne was traded to a contenting Vancouver team but his impact on Warsaw was great during his time. He ended #1 all time PIM Leader, #3 in hits, and #1 in blocked shots. Thank you Warsaw for a great time. Warsaw career stats: 432 games 107g 350a 457 points: 1323 PIM 1558 Hits 1034 BS Since being traded to Vancouver I feel right at home. A great team and great GM @Frank. They have taken Payne in and it’s a very active and fun locker room. Vancouver is about winning and I love that the team is very close. Vancouver lost to Davos in the championship game last season which stung. Especially since I lost to my friend and rival Jake Thunder @Thunder. Also, I want to give special thank you to Thunder for pushing me hard to keep earning and make Payne better. Payne is having a decent season and I hope that Vancouver can get another shot at a title. This team really does deserve it but will have to battle with some amazing teams. I have officially retired Payne and now have Logan Ninefingers (RW) now starting his career in the VHLM for the Miami Marauders. It was a hard decision whether to create another defender but thought Id try a forward for this one. A sincere thank you to all who make this league possible and for making Payne’s journey through the league so much fun. Next, I am hoping to make Logan Ninefingers just as good. Brian Payne #9 – Total TPE 1818 Total stats(as of now): 557g 145goals 466a 611 points 1642 PIM 2005 hits 1288 SB

  19. wow! Great post and thank you!!
  20. At the halfway point of the season the Vancouver Wolves are doing their best to catch the surging Los Angeles Stars. The Stars keep pulling away having won 5 straight but the Wolves have kept up with 9 straight wins. The Wolves are relying on team scoring with 7 players in double digits in goals. Girts Galvins has also gotten hot after a slow start and I am hoping for a great season in Girts's final run. PEB has also started getting hot too and if Payne and PEB stay consistent, the back end will stifle opposing forwards. The Wolves will have to continue to play team hockey to catch LA and Toronto but I think come playoff time the Wolves will be tough to beat. The Wolves seem to shine in the playoffs so I am hoping we can get another bite of the finals.
  21. 1. Hmmmm.... Brian Kowalski and Sakamoto are both off to a great start. Im hoping Payne and PEB end up at top of list by end of season. 2. Sigma Freud probably and Girts Galvins. Galvins quietly dominates 3. Subject056. Very active in LR which I love 4. Wann Kerr.. Scores, assists, and hits. What more can a team want 5. Tough call. I like our club but a depth winger might help 6. Enforcer tribute theme week i guess.
  22. That’s awesome!!!!
  23. Is this even a real language?? For fucks sake, type a post before you start drinking. Oh wait.....
  24. 1. Well I think a captain is not the GM and while I always want my club to win. If I was Captain of Warsaw or NY now I wouldn’t pick them to win. 2. I’d rather have a balanced schedule. Although it might be easier to plan back up games for goalie 3. excited. I want 4 straight wins! 4. I am happy with the hot hand and I wish it would happen for 72 games but I’m a realist. Don’t think I’ll lead league ever but happy just to win. 5. No not to me. Winning is the fun part. I’d love to play on a D pairing with Bouchard all season. We’d light it up! 6. The end of the miserable heat. Fall is my fav time of year. I
  25. For this week’s VHL article I want to throw a “tough guy tribute” out. Now, I love old school hockey, especially enforcers. I grew up collected all the tough guy player cards and have every Bob Probert card ever produced. I know fighting is subject to many opinions today but frankly I don’t care. So, as I surf the forum for shit to write about I figured I’d honor one such tough guy in the VHL, Phil Strasmore @PhilPhil. Strasmore is an imposing dman for Calgary. At 602 214 he plays well above his weight class and has put up some impressive numbers in the physicality dept. In 6 seasons he has 1209 hits, 1004 PIMS, and 755 blocked shots. More impressively this season he already has a league leading 6 fights. Now playing with a pansy like Rip Wheeler @ScottyP I am sure PS must fight his battles too but that’s another story. Phil has over 200 PIMS in the last three seasons and he’s on pace to keep that number. Strasmore could be on pace for a record number of fighting majors this season which is impressive. Congrats Phil! Fight Totals so far: Strasmore 6 (1 win) Champagne 4 (1 win) Lamb 3 (1 win) Maple. 3 Payne 2 Jason 2 (1 win) Abass Jr 2 Probert 2 (2 wins)
